PENAMPILAN PERTUMBUHAN AYAM BANGKOK STARTER YANG DIBERI PAKAN DENGAN LEVEL PROTEIN BERBEDA
THE GROWTH OF PERFORMANCE “BANGKOK†CHICKEN AT THE STARTER PHASE GIVEN FEED IN LEVELS OF DIFFERENCE PROTEIN. This study was conducted to evaluate the levels of protein in ration affecting consumption, average daily gain, feed conversion and mortality of “Bangkok†chicken at the starter phase. Birds used in this study were 36 chicken at the age of 2 weeks old. Treatments in this study were rations with protein levels of 18 percents (Ration A), 20 percents (Ration B), and 22 percents (Ration C).Variables observed were feed consumption (g/h/d), Average daily gain (g/h/d), feed conversion and mortality (percents). Method of completely randomized design were applied in this study using 3 treatments with 6 replications at each treatment. Each treatment and replication was filled 2 chicken of “Bangkok†strain. Results of this study showed that protein levels of 18 to 22 percents in the diets did not affect feed consumption, average daily gain, feed conversion and mortality. Therefore, it can be concluded that the protein levels of 18 to 22 percents in the diets had the same responses in growing performance of “Bangkok†strain at starter phase.Kata Kunci:“Bangkok†strain chicken, growing performance, protein levels
KUALITAS KARKAS TERNAK BABI GROWER YANG MENGGUNAKAN TEPUNG KULIT KOPI SEBAGAI PENGGANTI SEBAGIAN DEDAK PADA RANSUM
EFFECT OF COFFEE SKIN FLOUR AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR RICE BRAN IN THE RATION ON CARCASS QUALITY OF GROWER PIGS. Research entitled effect of coffee skin flour in the ration of grower phase pig on slaughter weight, carcass length and carcass percentage have been done. Research conducted for 52 days using 16 Landrace pigs. Methods of randomized block design were used. Four replication as group of weight was used and treatments were four level of coffee skin flour of 0%, 25%, 50%, and 75%. The research variables are slaughter weight, carcass length and carcass percentage. Results of statistical analysis showed that there was no significant difference between treatments and the percentage of carcasses and slaughter weight (P> 0.05). The mean of slaughter weight is 76.68 kg and the average of carcass percentage is 63.80%. Analysis of variance showed that there is highly significant difference (P<0.01) between treatments and the length of carcass. Further test by the least significance difference method indicates that there was no significant difference on carcass length between R0 and R1, R2 and R3. There was also no significant difference on carcass length between R1 and R2, R1 and R3, and R2 and R3. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of coffee skin flour as a substitution as much as 25% of in the ration can increase the length of the carcass.Keywords: carcass length and carcass percentage, flour coffee skin, slaughter weight, pork
PERANAN KELOMPOK PETERNAK TERHADAP USAHA PENGEMBANGAN TERNAK ITIK DI KECAMATAN TONDANO BARAT KABUPATEN MINAHASA
ABSTRACT THE ROLE OF HOUSEHOLD FARMER GROUP ON DEVELOPMENT OF DUCK FARMING SYSTEM IN WEST TONDANO DISTRICT OF MINAHASA REGENCY. Development of animal husbandry was generally intended to improve the human welfare of rural community, mainly increasing the productivity their animal farming system. This effort was mainly done to fulfil the nutritional needs of the communities in rural areas. The animal farming system was changed from the traditional way of animal maintenance into the intensive maintenance, requiring better understanding and knowledge of raising ducks. This research was carried out at the village of Tuutu, West Tondano district of Minahasa regency involving duck household farmer group from January 10, 2017 – 10 April 2017. This research was applied using qualitative research. Data were collected intentionally based on purposive Sampling method, collected from primary and secondary sources of data. Primary data were obtained through direct observation held by interviews with the respondents of duck household farmers applying questions that have been prepared and drawn up in accordance with the research objectives. Secondary data were obtained from existing records in the Office of the head of the local Office and BP3K related with this study. Results of the study showed that all duck household farmer groups at the village of Tuutu, West Tondano district of Minahasa Regency were playing role in development of duck household farming system in making decision, involving the group. These groups were including four groups of Masawa-Sawangan, Tougela, Esa Toroan Waya and Toubeke.Key word: Household farming group, duck farming system development, West Tondano districtÂ
PENGARUH LEVEL PUPUK BOKASHI KOTORAN AYAM TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN LAMTORO (Leucaena leucocephala)
THE EFFECT OF CHICKEN MANURE BOKASHI LEVEL ON GROWTH OF LAMTORO (Leucaena leucocephala). The aim of this experiment was to study the effect of organic fertilizer Bokashi from chicken manure on performance of Leucaena leucocephala in term of tall of plant, number of compound leaves and number of leaflets. Treatment consisted of four level of bokashi as follows B1 = 0 gram,  B2 = 200 gram, B3 = 400 gram and  B4 = 800 gram bokashi/ polybag. Design has been used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 7 replications.  Analysis of variance showed that  level of bokashi at 400 and 800 gram / polybag gave a significant difference (P<0,05) better than others levels in term of tall of plant, number of compound leaves and number of leaflets. Tuckey Simultaneous Test showed that both treatments gave the significant different (P<0,05) higher than others levels. Based on these results it can be concluded that application of 400 gram/polybag organic fertilizer bokashi chicken manure enough to produce good performance of Lamtoro (Leucaena leucocephala) in term of tall of plant, number of compound leaves and number of leaflets. Keywords: Bokashi, leucaena, growth, chicken manure
SIFAT ORGANOLEPTIK ES KRIM DENGAN PENAMBAHAN UBI JALAR UNGU (Ipomea batatas L)
ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS OF ICE CREAM ADDING BY PURPLE SWEET POTATOES (Ipomea batatas L). This study was conducted to know about the use of purple sweet potatoes as an extender to ice cream on the organoleptic characteristics. The material used in this study were fresh milk, purple sweet potatoes and the ingredients for ice cream making. Four treatments tested in this study consisted of P0 (1000 ml of milk without purple sweet potatoes), P1 (1000 ml of milk plus purple sweet potatoes 150 g), P2 (1000 ml of milk plus purple sweet potatoes 300 g), P3 (1000 ml of milk plus purple sweet potatoes 450 g). This research used a complete randomized design and was tested by 35 of panelist to determine the organoleptic properties data of a purple sweet potato ice cream product. The data measured of in this research used hedonic scale. The variables measured consisted of color, flavor, texture, taste of ice cream. Determination of difference of average was done by DMRT test. The results of this study showed that the treatment was significant effect on color, flavor, texture and taste (P<0.01). The conclusion of this study based on organoleptic characteristics, the use of 450 g of purple sweet potatoes as an additive in 1000 ml of milk can be used on making of ice cream.Keywords: Ice cream, Purple Sweet Potato, Organoleptic Propertie
PERANAN PROMOSI TERHADAP VOLUME PENJUALAN TELUR AYAM RAS PADA PASAR SWALAYAN DI KOTA MANADO
THE ROLE OF PROMOTION ON THE SALE OF CHICKEN RACE EGGS IN THE SUPERMARKETS OF MANADO CITY.This research has been conducted in the supermarkets of Manado City. The res of this research is to what extent promotion plays a role in the sales volume of chicken race eggs in the Supermarkets of Manado. The purposes of this research are to know which promotional tools are used in Supermarkets of Manado and to know the role of promotion to the sales volume of chicken race eggs in Supermarkets of Manado. Sample determination is done by Purposive Sampling. The sampling criteria of this research are : The supermarkets that sell chicken race eggs and the Supermarkets that have sold chicken race eggs for one year. The random sampling to 21 Supermarkets as the respondent from 121 supermarket total in Manado City. The data of research will be tabulated and analyzed. Data analysis model using descriptive analysis approach to study the role of promotions to the sales volume of chicken race eggs.From the research result obtained that the tools of promotions that used on sales proccess of chicken race eggs in Supermarkets of Manado spesifically is packaging with the price and discount. From the data of research shows that the Supermarkets which not used sales promotion precisely the price is higher and the sales volume is very low. While the supermarkets that used the promotions, the price is lower and the sales volume is extremelly high. The sale of Chicken race eggs in Supermarkets of Manado, promotion tools become one of marketing strategy that increasing the sales volume. From the researh result conducted shows that more eggs sold when using the promotional tools. This is because the suppliers and supermarkets want to maintain their name, so that the quality must be maintained and the supermarkets already using the brand or mark, such as Telur Segar and Cap Manguni.Keywords : Promotion, Supermarket, Sales volume, Chicken egg rac
PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MOLASES SEBAGAI SUMBER ENERGI PAKAN PENGUAT DALAM RANSUM TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN TERNAK KELINCI
UTILIZATION EFFECT OF MOLASSES AS ENERGY SOURCE IN THE DIETS ON GROWING RABBIT PERFORMANCE. Molasses had been used previously in animal feeds. The present study was conducted to determine the effect of molasses utilization in the diets on growing rabbits. The study was conducted during five weeks at Department of Animal and Feed Science Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University of Sam Ratulangi, Manado. Twenty eight-weeks weaned female rabbits with an initial body weight of 600 -700 gr were used in this trial. Animals were allocated in an individual cage. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications was used for analysis of variance. Treatments were formulated as follow: R0 = 100% basal diet + 0% molasses; R1 = 98% basal diet + 2% molasses; R2 = 96% basal diet + 4% molasses; and R3 = 94% basal diet + 6% molasses. Variables measured were daily feed consumption, water consumption, daily gain, and feed conversion. Research results showed that average daily feed consumption in the present study ranged from 58.1 to 60.4 g; daily water consumption from 127.2 to 163.8 liters; daily gain from 20.1 to 20.9 g; and feed conversion ratio of about 3.57 to 3.80. Statistical analysis revealed that utilization of molasses replacing part of basal diets up to 6% gave no significant differences on daily feed consumption, water consumption, daily gain, and feed conversion ratio. It can be concluded that molasses as an energy source can be utilized up to 6% in growing rabbit diets without any negative effects. PENGGUNAAN ECENG GONDOK (Eichhornia crassipes)TERFERMENTASI DALAM RANSUM ITIK TERHADAP KECERNAAN BAHAN KERING DAN BAHAN ORGANIK
ABSTRACT UTILIZATION OF FERMENTED WATER HYACINTH (Eichhornia crassipes) IN DUCK DIETS ON DRY MATTER AND ORGANIC MATTER DIGESTIBILITY.The study aimed to determine the use of fermented water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) (FWH) in duck dietson dry matter and organic matter digestibility. This study was carried out for three weeks using 20 crossbred ducks of Mojosari and Alabio (MA), 8 weeks of age. This study was conducted using a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were R0 (0% FWH), R1 (10% FWH), R2 (20% FWH), R3 (30% FWH), R4 (40% FWH). Results showed that treatments was highly significant (P<0.01) affectedto dry matter and organic matter digestibility. Honestly significant difference test (HSD) on dry matter digestibility showed that there were no significant between treatment R0 (70.85%), R1 (71.08%), R2 (70,47%) and R4 (69.47%). The R3 diet was significantly higher than R4, but was not significantlydifferentbetween R0 and R1. The HSDtest on organic matter digestibility showed that there was no significant difference between R3 (76 27) and R0 (75.30%), R1 (75.43%) and R2 (775,17%), but R3 was significantly higher than R4 (74.13%). There were no significant differencebetween  R0, R1, R2, and R4 diets. It can be concluded that fermented water hyacinth reach can be used till 30% in duck diet substituted to rice bran. PENGGUNAAN TEPUNG LIMBAH LABU KUNING DALAM RANSUM TERHADAP PENAMPILAN PRODUKSI AYAM RAS PETELUR
THE EFFECT OF PUMPKIN WASTE MEAL IN LAYING HEN FEED ON PERFORMANS PRODUCTION. This research was to find out the use of pumpkin waste meal on performance in the production of laying hens. The purpose of this research was to observe the effect of the use of pumpkin waste meal performance in the production of feed for laying hens. A total of 100 MB 402 laying hens from 42 week of age were randomly alloted to four dietary treatments with 5 replication groups of 4 hens. Dietary treatment were; basal diet (R0), basal diet 98% + 2% WCP (R1), basal diet 96% + 4% WCP (R2), basal diet 94% + 6% WCP (R3), basal diet 92% + 8% WCP (R4). The variable were the feed Consumption, hen day production, feed conversion. Data was analyzed with completely randomized Design ( CRD ). The addition of in the feed was not influenced significantly (P > 0,05) to the feed consumption, hen day production, feed conversion. Based on the research that is done it can be concluted that the use of waste carrot pumpkins in the feed at the level of 8% show no significantly different result on the feed consumption, hen day production, feed conversion.

PENGARUH PEMBERIAN RUMPUT RAJA (Pennisetum purpupoides) DAN TEBON JAGUNG TERHADAP KECERNAAN BAHAN KERING DAN BAHAN ORGANIK PADA SAPI PO PEDET JANTAN
THE EFFECTS OF OFFERING KING GRASS (Pennisetum purpupoides) AND CORN STOVER ON DRY MATTER AND ORGANIC MATTER OF ONGOLE CROSS BREED STEER CALVES. A research has been conducted to evaluate the effects of offering king grass (Pennisetum purpupoides) and corn stover as ingredients for ration formulating on dry matter and organic matter digestibility of ongole cross breed steer calves. Five ongole cross breed steer calves with about 100 kg body weight were used in this experiment. Latin square design with 5 tereatments was used. The treatments were rasio of king grass and corn stover; R1 = 100% king grass, R2 = 75% king grass + 25% corn stover, R3 = 50% king grass + 50% corn stover, R4 = 25% king grass + 75% corn stover, R5 100% corn stover. The variables measured were dry matter and organic matter digestibility. Analysis of variance showed that there were no significant effect of treatments on dry metter and organic matter digestibility. Averages of dry matter digestibility during experiment ranged 56.27% - 59.48%. The highest was 59.48% for R5 (100% corn stover) and the lowest was 56.27% for R1 (100% king grass). Averages of organic matter ranged from 87.64% to 88.72%. The highest organic matter digestibility was on R4 (25% king grass + 75% corn stover) and the lowest organic matter digestibility was on R2 (75% king grass + 25% corn stover). It can be concluded that the best nutritive value was at combination of 25% king grass + 75% corn stover on dry matter and organic matter digestibility of ongole cross breed steer calves. keywords: king grass, corn stover, digestibility, dry matter, organic matte
