EFFECT OF FEED RESTRICTION AND DIFFERENT CRUDE FIBER SOURCES ON THE BORILER PERFORMANCE. The research aim was to determine the performance of Lohman strain broiler were given by food restriction of 20 percent and 10 percent levels of crude fiber from different fiber sources originated from coffee peel, rice bran and coconut pulp. This research was carried out in a poultry house at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, UNSRAT Manado, during 6 weeks using 48 unsex Lohman strain broilers at 21 days old. The research method was using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) based on factorial pattern (2x4). Each treatment combination was repeated 3 times. Factor A was a feed restriction consisting of feed without restriction (A0) and restriction of 20% feed for 8 days (A1). Factor B was a source of fiber consisting of control (B0);coffee peel (B1); rice bran (B2) and coconut pulp (B3). In this study, the were 8 treatment combinations of A0B0, A0B1, A0B2, A0B3, A1B0, A1B1, A1B2 and A1B3. Application of feed restriction and source of fiber were applied during days of 21th to day of 28th. The birds were fed commercial feed until 42 days of age. The variables measured were feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion. The results showed that the restriction of feed and different fiber sources had a significant effect (P <0.05) on feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion. The results of this study can be concluded that the restriction of feed by 20 percent for 8 days with a source of crude fiber originated from coconut pulp in feed gave the best response compared with crude fiber originated from coffee peel and rice bran on the performance of the Lohman strain of broiler. Keywords: Broiler, feed restriction, crude fibe
PENGARUH FREKUENSI PEMUTARAN DAN POSISI TELUR PADA KEBERHASILAN PENETASAN TELUR AYAM KAMPUNG (Gallus gallus Domesticus)
EFFECT OF TURNING  FREQUENCY AND EGG POSITION ON HATCHABILITY OF CHICKEN EGGS (Gallus gallus Domesticus). This study aimed to determine effect of turning frequency and egg position on the hatching ability of chicken eggs. Study was conducted using 162 eggs of local hens inserted into hatching machine withcapacity of 300 eggs and implemented for 24 days. The experimental design of the completely factorial randomized design was applied consisting of 9 treatments and 3 replications. The two treatment factors were turning frequency consisted of 2 times a day, 3 times a day, 4 times a day, and egg position of 300, 600, and 900. The results of the analysis show that the effect of the turning frequency did not show a significant effect (P>0.05) on hatchability. However, egg position had a significant effect (P<0.5) on hatchability. There was no interaction between turning frequency and egg position againt hatchability and mortality. The conclusion of this research was the turning frequency of 2 times a day with egg slope position of 300 produced high hatchability and low level of mortality. Keywords : Egg turning frequency and position, hatchability, local hen.Â
PENGARUH PENDAPATAN RUMAH TANGGA TERHADAP KONSUMSI DAGING BROILER DI KELURAHAN KLEAK KECAMATAN MALALAYANG MANADO
THE EFFECT OF HOUSEHOLD INCOME ON BROILER MEAT CONSUMPTION AT  KLEAK URBAN VILLAGE OF MALALAYANG SUB DISTRICT  MANADO. Data Based on the variables and their measurements, the results of this study showed that income had the positive effect on broiler meat consumption of households on the Kleak urban village    Malalayang Sub District in Manado following the formulation, Y = 19368.49 + 0.013 X. This implied that as income increases per IDR  1 consumption increased by 0.013 kg assuming the other variables are fixed (ceteris paribus)
PERFORMANS BURUNG PUYUH (Coturnix-Coturnix Japonica) FASE GROWER YANG DIBERIKAN TEPUNG MANURE HASIL DEGRADASI LARVA LALAT HITAM (H. illucensL.) MENGGANTIKAN TEPUNG IKAN DALAM RANSUM
QUAIL (Coturnix-Coturnix Japonica) GROWER PERFORMANCE SUPPLIED WITH MANURE FLOUR DEGRADED BY BLACK FLY LARVAE (H.ILLUCENS L.) TO REPLACE FISH MEAL. This study aims to determine the manure yield of black fly larvae replacing fish meal in the quail feed of the grower phase. The materials used in this study were 100 unsexed quails, 3 weeks old; the dimension of cage was 40 x 40 x 20 cm. The quails were arranged randomly in each unit. The study was realized by using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments were R0 = 0% degraded manure flour (MHD); R1 = 4% MHD flour; R2 = 8% MHD flour; R3 = 12% MHD flour. The research variables consisted of ration consumption, body weight gain and feed efficiency. The results obtained showed that treatments provide a very significant influence (P <0.01) on ration consumption. Body weight gain and feed efficiency were not significant different (P> 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that MHD flour up to the 12% level can be used in quail rations replacing fish meal. Keywords: Quail, MHD, Fish meal

KARATERISTIK ORGAN BAGIAN DALAM AYAM BURAS YANG DIBERI PAKAN MINYAK KELAPA (Cocos nucifera) DALAM RANSUM
INTERNAL ORGANS CHAR ACTERISTICS OF NATIVE CHICKEN FED BY COCONUT OIL (Cocos nucifera) ON DIET. The research was carried to determine the internal organs characteristics of buras chickens fed coconut (Cocos mucifera) oil in diet. A total 100 unsexed buras chickens was used in this experiment. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications (4 hens each). The data were subjected to analysis of variance, when the treatments indicated significant effect it was continued Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. Five dietary treatments containing 0, 0.5%, 1 %, 1,5%, and 2% levels of coconut oil (CO) with five replicates were applied to chickens. Parameters measured were body weight, heart, liver, pancreas and gizzard weight. Result showed that CO in the ration significantly increased the body weight (P<0.01) but did not affect to heart weight, liver weight, pancreas weight and gizzard weight.(P>0.05) It can be concluded that coconut oil in the diet can’t increase the internal organ characteristics. We can gave the 2% CO in the diet for the best results. Key words: Internal Organs, Coconut Oil, Buras Chicken
