CONSUMERS CHARACTERISTICS IN PURCHASING BEEF IN MANADO CITY (Case Study On Transmart Carrefour Star Square Manado).Beef is one of the products farm source of protein easily found in the modern market and traditional markets. Consumer behavior is the study of decision making.Consumer characteristics are part of consumer behavior so companies that sell products need to recognize consumer characteristics and decision models made by consumers and innovate on beef attributes so that they can attract consumers to buy. Respondents in this stady were 100 determined by the probability of sampling non next using descriptive analysis through the questionnaire to know the types of buyers. The results showed that the types of buyers of beef in transmart Carrefour star square manado dominated by consumers women are mostly housewives with average ages of more than 40 years, monthly income on 3 million with the education level medium to collage.Keywords : Beef, consumer characteristics, beef attribut
AMPLIFIKASI GEN COI DARI SAMPEL DARAH ULAR DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN BEBERAPA PASANGAN PRIMER UNIVERSAL
AMPLIFICATION OF COI GENE FROM SNAKE BLOOD SAMPLES USING TWO UNIVERSALPRIMER PAIRS. This study aims to amplify COI (Cytochrome Oxidase Subunit I) gene fragments from snake blood. Four samples were obtained from four different snake individuals that were captured in Tapahan Telu Waterfall, Kali Village, Minahasa Regency. Total DNA from the sample was isolated and then the COI gene was amplified through the PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) reaction using two primer pairs, LCO1490-HCO2198 and FF2d-FR1d. These four samples were successfully amplified using different primers, i.e. DRP1 and DRP3 by FF2d-FR1d and DRP2 and DRP4 by LCO1490-HCO2198 primers. The success of amplification marked by the presence of 710 bp (LCO1490-HCO2198) and 707 bp (FF2d-FR1d) bands, which were indicated by those bands were located close to the standard 750 bp DNA ladder. Key words: Snake, Amplification, COI gene, Primers, PC
GENERA NYAMUK (CULICIDAE) DALAM KANDANG SEBAGAI VEKTOR PENYAKIT JAPANESE ENCEPHALITIS PADA TERNAK BABI DI DESA TOLOK KECAMATAN TOMPASO KABUPATEN MINAHASA
MOSQUITOS GENERA (CULICIDAE) IN CAGE AS A VECTOR OF JAPANESE ENCEPHALITIS IN PIGS IN THE TOLOK VILLAGE, TOMPASO DISTRICT, MINAHASA DISTRICT This study aims to determine the diversity and density of the population and the time of mosquito activity (Culicidae) in the pig pen. This reserch was carried out in the Tolok Village, Tompaso District, Minahasa Regency for 2 (two) months at 2 (two) cage locations namely cage I (distance I cage withe house less than 10 m) and enclosure II (more than 50 m). This research uses the observation method by collecting mosquito samples every 2 (two) hours on the light trap placed in each cage. Samples were collected from 18.00-06.00, at each location replicated 3 (three) times with an invoice of two weeks, the samples collected are identified and counted. The results showed diversity of cage mosquitoes I and II each found 3 genera namely Culex, Anopheles, and Armigeres. Population density of cage I was found 128 individual mosquitoes consisting of Culex 104 tails, Anopheles 20 tails, and Armigeres 4. Cage II found 46 mosquitos individuals consisting of Culex 40, Anopheles 5, Armigeres 1. Hours 22.00-24.00 is the highest time of mosquito activity obtained from the highest number of mosquito catches, which were 48 in cage I and 18 in cage II. Based on the results and discussions, it was concluded that mosquito diversity in the Tolok Village 3 genus Culex, Anopheles, and Armigeres while the highest mosquito population density was at the cage location closest to the breeder house and its activity was highest at 22.00-24.00. Keyword: Mosquito, pig livestock, activity, density, diversityÂ
PERSENTASE KARKAS DAN LEMAK ABDOMEN BROILER YANG DIBERI PAKAN KOMBINASI HERBAL DENGAN MINERAL ZINK
CARCASS AND ABDOMEN FAT PERCENTAGES IN BROILERS FED RATION COMBINED WITH HERBAL DAN ZINC MINERAL Study was done to evaluate carcass quality of broilers fed ration combined with herbal and zinc mineral. Hundred broilers were randomly divided into four treatments with five replications in each treatment. Each unit was placed five day old chicks. Treatments were consisted of basal ration (R1), basal ration added with 1.5 % of turmeric and 180 ppm of Zinc (R2), basal ration added with 2.5 % of white onion and 180 ppm of Zinc (R3), and basal ration added with anti biotic (R4). Results showed that combination of herbal and zinc mineral affected significantly the carcass and abdomen fat in broilers. Therefore, it can be concluded that combinations of turmeric or white onion and zinc mineral produced ideal carcass and abdomen fat in broilers. Key Words: Abdomen fat, broiler, carcass, herbal, zinc
PENGARUH PEMANFAATAN BONGGOL PISANG SEPATU (Musa paradisiaca L) DALAM RANSUM TERHADAP PERSENTASE KARKAS DAN LEMAK ABDOMINAL AYAM BROILER
THE INFLUENCE OF THE USE OF BANANA HUMP SHOES (Musa paradisiaca L) IN RATION ON THE PERCENTAGE OF CARCASS AND ABDOMINAL FAT IN BROILER CHICKEN. This study aims to determine the extent of the effect of using banana hump shoes (Musa Paradisiaca) in rations on carcass and abdominal fat in broiler chickens. This study was conducted using 100 unsexed Cobb broiler chickens (PT. Charoen Pokhpand), with an average body weight of 837 grams. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. Arrangement of the experimental treatment as follows: Râ‚€= 55% corn + 0% banana hump shoes, Râ‚= 50% corn + 5% banana hump shoes, Râ‚‚= 45% corn + 10% banana hump shoes, R₃= 40% corn + 15% banana hump shoes. The results showed that there was no significant difference (P>0,05) on the percentage of carcass and abdominal fat in broiler chickens. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the use of banana shoe hump in rations up to 15% produces a good percentage of carcass and abdominal fat. Keywords: broiler chicken, banana hump shoes, percentage of carcass and abdominal fat.Â
KUALITAS FISIKOKIMIA DAN MIKROBIA YOGHURT SINBIOTIK YANG DIBERI PATI TERMODIFIKASI UMBI UWI UNGU (Dioscorea alata) DENGAN LEVEL BERBEDA
THE PHYSICOCHEMICAL AND MICROBIAL QUALITY OF SINBIOTIC YOGHURT GIVEN DIFFERENT LEVEL OF MODIFIED STARCH OF PURPLE UWI BULB (Dioscorea alata). An experiment was done in order to determine the level of modified starch of purple uwi bulb (Dioscorea alata) which best for syneresis, pH and total lactic acid bacteria of synbiotic yoghurt.  Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used in this experiment with 6 treatments as follows P0 = yoghurt without modified starch purple uwi bulb, P1 = yoghurt + 0,1% modified starch purple uwi bulb, P2 = yoghurt + 0,2% modified starch purple uwi bulb, P3 = yoghurt + 0,3% modified starch purple uwi bulb, P4 = yoghurt + 0,4% modified starch purple uwi bulb dan P5 = yoghurt + 0,5 modified starch purple uwi bulb; and three repetitions   each treatment. Measurements taken were syneresis, pH value, total of acid lactate bacteria. Data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA and Tuckey’s test was used to inspect treatment differences among group means. It found in this research that application of modified starch of purple uwi bulb in symbiotic yoghurt gave a significant effect (P<0,01) on pH value and total lactic acid bacteria but not on syneresis. However, the syneresis values tendency decreased as the level of modified starch of purple uwi bulb increased. The pH of symbiotic yoghurts given modified starch were ranged between 5.0 – 5.4 and the lowest pH was found in yoghurt with 0.3% modified starch added, meanwhile the total lactic acid bacteria of symbiotic yoghurts given modified starch were ranged between log 10-78.65 – log10-7 8.87 and the highest total lactic acid bacteria was found in yoghurt with 0.2% modified starch added. It concluded in this research that the best quality of symbiotic yoghurt was in yoghurt with addition of modified starch of purple uwi bulb 0.3%.  Keywords: Sinbiotic Yoghurt, Modified Starch of Ubi Purple Tuber, Sineresis, pH value, BAL Tota
ANALISIS BREAK EVEN POINT USAHA PETERNAKAN AYAM RAS PETELUR “UD. TETEY PERMAI†DI KECAMATAN DIMEMBE
ANALYSIS BREAK EVEN POINT OF LAYING CHICKEN LIVESTOCK BUSSINESS "UD TETEY PERMAI" IN KECAMATAN DIMEMBE. The purpose of this study was to analyze the Break even point of laying chicken breeding business "UD Tetey Permai." This research was conducted at the laying chicken breeding business "UD. Tetey Permai" in Dimembe District in July 2018 to August 2018. The data taken are primary data and secondary data. Primer data was obtained directly from company owners, company managers, cage workers and feed warehouse workers. Secondary data was obtained through government agencies related to research. The results showed that the laying chicken breeding business "UD. Tetey Permai" in one production period had a profit of  Rp3.117.715.583 and had operated above  Break Even Point on 1.129.389 eggs sales or on sales of Rp1.694.083.907.Â
KONTRIBUSI USAHA TERNAK ITIK PETELUR TERHADAP PENDAPATAN RUMAHTANGGA PETANI PETERNAK DI KECAMATAN LANGOWAN TIMUR
DUCKS LAYER FARM CONTRIBUTION ON HOUSEHOLDS INCOME IN EAST LANGOWAN DISTRICT. The purpose of this research was to evaluate duck layer farm contribution on household domestic income in East Langowan district. This study was conducted on October 1st to 28th, 2018. The data were obtained by applyingsurvey methods and interviews completed the questionnaires. Samples were taken by purposive sampling methods involving 100 adult ducks maintained traditionally. The samples number is obtained from the whole household farmers, divided into 3 scales of livestock ownership. Scale 1 was farmers with 100 to 233 duck earning revenue of IDR 29.175.786 per year. Scale 2 was farmers with 234 to 367 ducks earning revenue of IDR 52.685.974 per year. Scale 3 was farmers with 368 to 500 ducks earning revenues of IDR 72.364.195 per year. Generally, the duck farm in East Langowan district was still traditionally maintained under a semi-intensive maintenance system. The household farmers of the laying ducks contributed the highest income of 89% with a value of IDR 154.225.952 per year. Animal farm of other owners (off farm) contributed 1% with the value of IDR 2.304.678 per year. Sources of non farming contributed 10% with the value of IDR 17.441.667 per year. It can be concluded that duck farm was categorized into a major farming industry providing greater revenues than other businesses. Duck farm was a source of household farmer income contributing 85% compared with other businesses. The greater the scale of the livestock ownership, the greater the income will be received. The laying duck maintenance system in East Langowan district was still categorized in a traditional system, important to be developed because of potential of agricultural land can provide natural feed so as to profitable breeders
KECERNAAN BAHAN KERING, RETENSI NITROGEN DAN ENERGI METABOLIS RANSUM AYAM PEDAGING YANG MENGGUNAKAN TEPUNG LIMBAH LABU KUNING (Cucurbita moschata)
DIGESTIBILITY OF DRY MATTER, NITROGEN RETENTION AND METABOLIC ENERGY IN RATION OF BROILERS USING YELLOW PUMPKIN MEAL (Cucurbita moschata). Research was conducted to evaluate digestibility of dry matter, nitrogen retention and metabolic energy corrected to nitrogen in ration of broilers using yellow pumpkin meal (Cucurbita moschata). The total of 20 unsexed broilers of CP 707 strain at age of 5 weeks old with the average body weight of 1073 grams were used in this study. The completely randomized design involving 4 treatments and 5 replications in each treatment was applied at the experimental unit. The significant treatments were tested using honestly significant difference test. The treatments were including 100% basal ration without yellow pumpkin meal (R0), 95% basal ration added with 5% yellow pumpkin meal (R1), 90% basal ration added with 10% yellow pumpkin meal (R2), and 85% basal ration added with 15% yellow pumpkin meal (R3). Results of analysis of variance showed that treatments significantly affected (P<0,05) nitrogen retention value, but did not significantly affected (P>0,05) dry matter digestibility and metabolic energy corrected to nitrogen in ration. Based on honestly significant difference test, treatments of R0, R1 and R2 were higher compared with R3. Among treatments of R0, R1 and R2 were not significantly different. Therefore, it can be concluded that yellow pumpkin meal (Cucurbita moschata) was potential to be the alternative material ingredient up to 15 percents in ration of broilers based on digestibility of dry matter, nitrogen retention and metabolic energy. Key Words: Broiler, Dry matter, Metabolic energy, Nitrogen retention, Yellow pumpkin meal
