    ABSTRACTANALYSIS OF INSTRUCTOR PERFORMANCE TO EMPOWERING CATTLE BREEDING BUSINESS GROUP AT TONDEGESAN VILLAGE OF KAWANGKOAN DISTRICT. The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of instructors on empowerment of cattle business groups in Tondegesan Village, Kawangkoan District, Minahasa Regency. This research was carried out by using data miles and huberman analysis which was carried out when the data collection took place in the field. The study population was all members of the serentape business group. The sampling method for farmers is based on indications to assess performance, namely productivity, responsiveness, and responsibility. The results showed that the performance of extension agents was mostly in the successful category. The success of the instructor's performance in the productivity level is in the successful category with a percentage of 93.33%, in the level of responsiveness in the successful category with a percentage of 73.33%, and the level of responsibility in the successful category with a percentage of 93.33%. Based on the research,concluded that the performance of the instructor towards the empowerment of business groups in the village of Tondegesan, Kawangkoan Subdistrict which was measured in terms of productivity, responsiveness and responsibilitysuccessful.Keywords: Performance, Extension, Empowermen

    POTONGAN KOMERSIAL KARKAS AYAM BROILER STRAIN COBB YANG MENGALAMI PEMBATASAN PAKAN DAN PEMBERIAN SUMBER SERAT KASAR BERBEDA PADA PERIODE GROWER

    Study was conducted to evaluate the effect of feed restriction and source of different crude fiber on carcass weight and commercial pieces of broiler with Cobb strain. Study was using 24 broilers with Cobb Strain. Restriction of 20 percent feed and different sources of crude fiber were applied to broilers at age of 21to 28 days old. Ration was fed ad libitum to broilers until birds reached age of42 days old. . This research was using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in Factorial pattern of 2x4 with 3 replications. As a factor A was restricted feeding consisted of without restrictions (A0), and 20 percents restricted ration (A1). A factor B was source of crude fiber consisted of commercial feed (B0), commercial feed with coffee hull meal (B1), commercial feed with rice bran (B2), and commercial feed with coconut pulp (B3). There were treatment combinations including A0B0, A0B1, A0B2, A0B3, A1B0, A1B1, A1B2 and A1B3. The variables measured were percentages of commercial pieces consist of breast, thigh, wing and brisket. The data analyzed used variance analysis. The honestly significance difference test was used to determine which one of treatment was significantly different from each other. The results showed that the combination treatment of feed restriction and source of crude fiber in feed gave a very significant different effect (P <0.05) on carcass weight of broiler with Cobb strain. Sources of fiber crude affected significantly (P<0.05) percentages of thigh, breast, brisket and live weight. Treatment of feed restriction affected significantly (P<0.05) percentage of wing.     ABSTRACTCATTLE FARMERS’S RESPONSE ON APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION (AI) TEGNOLOGY IN TONDEGESAN VILLAGE KAWANGKOAN DISTRICT, MINAHASA REGENCY. The government encourages the cattle farming industry through science and technology to increase the productivity of livestock businesses in order to be able to increase the livestock population. The objective of this study was to determine the farmer's response to the adoption of artificial insemination technology (IB) at the village of Tondegesan Dua, Kawangkoan District, Minahasa Regency and to evaluate their knowledge on artificial insemination motivation and technology adoption (IB) in Tondegesan two Village, Kawangkoan District, Minahasa Regency. Data sources were based on primary and secondary data. Data collection were conducted by observation and interview method. The farmer population were involving 42 farmers following artificial insemination and not following artificial insemination activities, but they were aware of artificial insemination technology. The number of samples taken were 30 farmers. Determination of the sample was purposively taken at the village of Tondegesan Dua. The measurement of the research indicator was carried out by applying a Likert scale. Test was done on the relationship between the variables of farmer response to artificial insemination. The results showed that the farmer's responses to artificial insemination were in a fairly good category based on the results of the study. The material used was 24 broilers. This research was using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in Factorial pattern of 2x4 with 3 replications. Feed restrictions were carried out at the age of 21 to 28 days old, after restrictions on broilers were fed commercial ration ad libitum feed until a time periode of 42 days. As a factor A was restricted feeding consisted of without restrictions (A0), and 20 percents restricted ration (A1). A factor B was source of crude fiber consisted of commercial feed (B0), commercial feed with coffee hull meal (B1), commercial feed with rice bran (B2), and commercial feed with coconut pulp (B3). The data analyzed used variance analysis and Tukey test to determine which one of treatment was significantly different from each other. The variables measured were live weight, carcass weight and percentage of commercial pieces consist of breast, thigh, drumstick, wing and brisket. The results showed that the combination treatment of feed restriction and source of crude fiber in feed gave a very significant different effect (P <0.05) on live weigth, carcass weight and commercial pieces of broiler with Lohman strain. The 20 percents restriction feeding with coconut pulp as a source of crude fiber gave best results on live weight, carcass weight, and commercial pieces of broiler with Lohman strain.Keywords: Feed restriction, crude fiber source, broiler commercial piece

    REPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE BEEF CATTLE OF ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION IN THE DISTRICT OF NORTH TOMBATU AND SUB DISTRICT OF RATAHAN.   The porpose of this study to know appearance of reproduction beef cattle artificial insemination in the northern Tombatu District and the Sub District of Ratahan in the Southeast Minahasa Regency.  Research the everage valve standard deviation and coefficient of diversity.  Based on research results that service preconception 1.25-1.30, conception rate 70-75%, calving interval 366.4-377.55 and length of pregnancy 279.25-281.1 day.     SUBSTITUTION OF SOME RATION WITH COCONUT OIL ON THE PERFORMANCE OF LAYING SUPER NATIVE CHICKEN. The pupose of the research is to knowing the substitution of some ratio with coconut oil on the performance of laying super native chicken. this research already implemented during 8 weeks. The material used in this study was a 80 laying hens super native chicken aged 5 month. The research design used was the completely randomized design (CDR) with 5 treatment and 4 replications. Tukey test was used for further test. Treatments were formulated as follow : R0 = 100% control diet + 0% Coconut Oil (CO); R1 = 99.5% control diet + 0.5% CO; R2 = 99% control diet + 1% CO; R3 = 98.5% control diet + 1.5% CO; R4 = 98% control diet + 2% CO. The result showed that applying the coconut oil until 2% giving increase for egg production and giving the same effect for feed consumtion and feed conversion.Keywords : laying super chicken native, coconut oil

    PRODUCTION FUNCTION ANALYSIS OF CATTLE FARMING IN WEST TOMPASO DISTRICT REGENCY OF MINAHASA.Farmers in West Tompaso district  cultivatedBeef cattle traditionally and not as main farming.The government in this case also encourages farmers to increase production. The problem is whether the production factor used affects the production of beef cattle.  The research aims to determine the factors affecting cattle production. The data collected is primary data and secondary data. Sampling uses the Cluster Random Sampling method. The analysis of the data used is multiple regression with econometrics approaches and software using SAS program 9.4. The results showed that the respondents ' lifespan ranged from 30-65 years to categorized productive age. Based on the results of the study can be concluded that together the factors of land production, labor and feed are real effect on the production of beef cattle.     APPEARANCE OF SUPER NATIVE CHICKEN PRODUCTION TROUGH ADDITION OF GEDI LEAF JUICE (ABELMOCHUS MANIHOT L.  MEDIK) IN DRINKING WATER. This research was conducted with the aim to determine the appearance of super native chicken production trough the addition of gedi leaf  juice (Abelmochus Manihot L.  Medik)  in drinking water. 7 week of research using 100 super native chicken. Treatmen consists of PO =  drinking water without (JDG), P1= 10 mL (JDG), P2 = 20 mL (JDG), P3 = 30 mL (JDG). Feed were using 73 % of commercial feed, 10 % of corn , 17 % of rice bran. This research uses a completely randomized design method consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replication. The variabels measured were final weight, cut weight, carcass weight and carcass percentage. The result of data analysis showed that the addition of gedi leaf juice (Abelmochus Manihot L.  Medik)  in drinking water of super native chicken had a significantly different effect ( P > 0.05) on the final weight, cutting weight, carcass weight and percentage of carcass. The result of the research on the addition of gedi leaf (Abelmochus Manihot L.  Medik)  juice in drinking water to 30 ml/liter of drinking water give a good response to final weight, cut weight, carcass weight and carcass percentage of super native chicken. Keyword : Appearance Production, Gedi Leaf Juice, Super Native Chicke

    THE GROWTH OF BENGAL GRASS (Panicum maximum cv. Jacq) GIVEN BIO-SLURRY FERTILIZER OF PIG. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of bio-slurry fertilizer on the growth of Bengal grass. This study uses organic material fertilizer derived from biogas from pigs for the growth of Bengal grass. A completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments had been used for data analysis. Treatments design as follows: B0: without fertilizer application, B1: 10 tons / ha (25 g / polybag), B2: 20 tons / ha (50g / polybag), B3: 30 tons / ha (75 g /polybag) and was conducted in four replications. The results showed that the treatment of Bio-slurry fertilizer have a very significant effect (P <0.01) on plant height, number of leaves, and number of seedlings. Application of bio-slurry fertilizer for pigs on Bengal grass (Panicum maximum cv. Jacq) up to a dose of 75 grams / polybag in B3 treatment produced the best growth with plant height of 114.44 cm, number of leaves 10.06 strands, and number of 3.00 seedlings..Keywords: growth, bengal grass, bio-slurry
