PENGARUH INTENSITAS PEMOTONGAN TERHADAP PRODUKTIVITAS Indigofera zollingeriana
THE EFFECT OF DEFOLIATION INTENSITY ON PRODUCTIVITY OF Indigofera zollingeriana. This research aims to know the effect of defoliaion intensity on productivity (fresh production, dry weight production, proportion of leaves and stems) and to know the defoliation intensity with optimal productivity of forage Indigofera zollingeriana. This research was conducted in December 2019 until March 2020. It consisted of defoliation intensity at 75cm (T75), 100cm (T100), 125cm (T125), and 150cm (T150). The design used in this experiment is Completely Randomized Design. The variables in this research were 1. fresh production leaves and stems; 2. dry weight production leaves and stems; 3. the proportion of leaves and stems dry weight production of forages Indigofera zollingeriana. The results showed that the difference of intensity defoliation had a significantly effect (P<0,01) on productivity (fresh production, dry weight production, proportion of leaves and stems) forage Indigofera zollingeriana. Defoliation intensity 75 cm have significantly (P<0,01) fresh and dry weight leaf of Indigofera zollingeriana than hight defoliation 125 cm and 150 cm. Intensity defoliation 125 cm have significantly (P<0,01) leaf-stem ratio of Indigofera zollingeriana than any other. It conclude that intensity defoliation 125 cm have highly productivity. PENGARUH BOBOT TELUR HASIL PERSILANGAN ITIK MOJOSARI DAN ALABIO TERHADAP DAYA TETAS, BOBOT DAY OLD DUCK (DOD), DAN MORTALITAS
EFFECT OF EGG WEIGHT FROM CROSSBRED OF MOJOSARI AND ALABIO DUCK BREEDS ON HATCHABILITY, DAY OLD DUCK WEIGHT AND MORTALITY. This study was conducted to determine the effect of egg weights as a result of the crossing between Mojosari and Alabio breeds on hatchability, day old duck (DOD) weight and mortality. This study used 90 eggs from crossbred of Mojosari and Alabio duck breeds. This study applied a completely randomized design. Significant differences were tested using the Duncan test. A complete randomized design involved three treatments with six replications at each treatment using five eggs at each replication. Treatments of egg weights was applied on differences in egg weights as follows, Egg weights A1 of 60 g-64 g, Egg weights A2 of 65 g-69 g and egg weights A3 of 70 g-75 g. The duration of this study was 28 days using a semi-automatic hatching machine. The research variables were day old duck weight (DOD), hatchability and mortality. The results of this study showed that treatments did not affect significantly the hatchability, DOD and mortality (P> 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that varying weights of eggs as results of crossing between Mojosari and Alabio had the same effect on the hatchability, DOD weight and mortality of the generation.Keywords: Duck egg weights, day old duck weight, hatchability, mortality
BERAT POTONG, BERAT KARKAS DAN PERSENTASE KARKAS TERNAK SAPI POTONG LOKAL YANG DIPOTONG DI RUMAH POTONG HEWAN MANADO
SLAUGHTER WEIGHT CARCASS WEIGHT AND THE PERCENTAGE OF CARCASSES OF NORTH SULAWESI LOCAL BEEF CATTLE CUT IN SLAUGHTER.The study aims to determine the slaughter weight, carcass weight  and  the percentage of carcasses of North Sulawesi local beef cattle cut in RPH Manado. The material used in this study were 40 local North Sulawesi beef cattle in RPH, Manado. The equipment used in this study is the meter and the hanging scales. This study uses the method of observation, direct interviews and measurements carried out randomly and weighing to determine the cut weight, carcass weight and carcass percentage. The results showed that the average value of 271,475 kg ± 34,129 kg weight, carcass weight 136,025 kg ± 16,477 and the percentage of North Sulawesi local beef cattle carcass 50,168% ± 1,694. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that the cattle of North Sulawesi local beef cattle slaughtered in RPH Manado still relatively low in term of average weight of slaughter and carcass weight. Keywords: Beef Cattle, Weight, Slaughterhous
KECERNAAN KALSIUM DAN FOSFOR RANSUM KOMPLIT BERBASIS TEBON JAGUNG PADA TERNAK SAPI PERANAKAN ONGOLE (PO)
DIGESTIBILITY OF CALCIUM AND PHOSPHORUS COMPLETE FEED BASED ON CORN FORAGE IN ONGOLE CROSSBREED COWS. Research was conducted to evaluate digestibility of calcium and phoshorus ongole crossbreed cows based on Corn Forage. Fourteen cows were used in this experiment, one and a half to two years old by weight of one hundred eighty to two hundred and fifty kilograms. this research was using experimental method, the data were analyzed by T test (Unequal Variance Assumed). Consisting of two replications and seven treatments used. The treatment used was : Ra = 50% concentrate+ 50% corn forage, Rb = 50% concentrate+ 25% king grass + 25% corn forage. The variables measured were feed calcium and phosphorus consumption, calcium and phosphorus digestibility. The results of analysis T test showed that intake capacity of calcium significantly affected (P<0.05) between Ra (31.49 gram/animal/day) and Rb (31.02 gram/animal/day) while calcium digestibility of treatment Rb (84.92%) higher significantly than Ra (77.70%). The results of analysis T test showed that intake capacity of phosphorus Rb (31.45 gram/animal/day) significantly affected (P<0.01) than Ra (30.52 gram/animal/day) and phosphorus digestibility Rb (88.39%) significantly affected (P<0.01) than Ra (83.94%). Based on the research result can be concluded that the complete feed consisting of 50% concentrate, 25% king grass (Pennisetum purpupoides) dan 25% corn forage increase digestibility of calcium and phosphorus ongole crossbreed cows.Key Words: Ongole crossbreed cattle, complete feed, digestibility, calcium and phosphorus
EVALUASI NILAI BIOLOGIS BAHAN KERING DAN BAHAN ORGANIK PAKAN LENGKAP BERBASIS TEBON JAGUNG PADA SAPI PERAH
EVALUATION OF BIOLOGICAL VALUE OF DRY MATTER AND ORGANIC MATTER COMPLETE FEED BASED ON CORN FORAGE IN DAIRY COWS. This aim of this study was to determine intakes and digestibility of the dry matter and organic matter of complete feed based on corn forage. 14 FH cows weighing 300-400 kg were used in this research. The feed treatments consist of Ra (30% concentrate + 70% corn forage), and  Rb (30% concentrate + 35% corn forage +    35% king grass). This experiment arranged in a statistical method of t-test two sample assuming unequal variance. The variables observed were intakes and digestibilities of both dry matter and organic. The results shows that the intakes of both dry matter and organic matter in the Ra were not significantly different from the Rb (P> 0.05). The dry matter digestibility of Rb were highly significant different from Ra (P<0.01), as well as organic matter digestibility of Rb was also significantly different from Ra (P <0.05). It is concluded that complete feed consisting of concentrate, corn forage and king grass was obtained the best digestibilities of both dry matter and organic matter
KECERNAAN MINERAL ESENSIAL NATRIUM DAN KALIUM ANAK KUDA PACU (YEARLING) INDONESIA YANG DIBERI PAKAN LOKAL DAN PAKAN IMPOR
ESSENTIAL SODIUM MINERAL DEMOCRACY (Na) AND POTASSIUM (K) CHILDREN OF PACU HORSE (YEARLING) INDONESIA THAT IS PROVIDED LOCAL FEED AND IMPORT FEED.This study aims to determine the ability of racehorses to digest feed both local and imported feed in Tonsewer and Kanonang villages for 30 days consisting of preparation and data collection. The data collected were the type and amount of feed (Sodium and Potassium) given to race horses and the amount of feces (animal/day), then 10 local feed samples and 10 imported feed samples were taken. The results showed that the average of sodium digestibility for local feed was 67.58% and imported feed was 71.03%, while Potassium digestibility for local feed was 62.26% and imported feed was 66.02%. The conclusion of this study was that the digestibility of imported Sodium and Potassium feeds is better compared to local feed.Keywords: Digestibility, Sodium, Potassium
Pengaruh perbedaan suhu ekstraksi terhadap kekuatan gel, viskositas, dan rendemen gelatin ceker ayam kampung
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan suhu ekstraksi terhadap nilai kekuatan gel, viskositas dan rendemen gelatin dengan bahan baku ceker ayam kampung. Materi penelitian menggunakan ceker ayam kampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuannya adalah perbedaan suhu ekstraksi T1=50oC, T2=60oC, T3=70oC, T4=80oC. Peubah yang dianalisis dalam penelitian adalah kekuatan gel, viskosita dan rendemen gelatin. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan suhu ekstraksi memberikan pengaruh perbedaan yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap nilai kekuatan gel, viskositas dan rendemen gelatin ceker ayam kampung. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa gelatin ceker ayam kampung yang diekstraksi pada suhu 700C menghasilkan kualitas fisik gelatin yang baik dengan nilai kekuatan gel 72,3, viskositas 7,57 cP dan rendemen 13,60 %.Keywords: Ceker ayam kampung, Gelati
TINGKAT KESUKAN JENIS MAKANAN DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP PERTAMBAHAN BERAT BADAN TIKUS EKOR PUTIH (Rattus xanthurus) DI PENANGKARAN EX-SITU
THE PREFERENCE OF FOOD TYPE AND THE INFLUENCE ON WEIGHT GAIN OF WHITE TAILED RAT (Rattus xanthurus) IN EX-SITU BREEDING. White tailed rats (Rattus xanthurus) is one of the endemic species of  North Sulawesi that has the status of near threatened. The method used in this study is the method of observation. This research was conducted to provide information about the most preferred type of food and its effect on body weight gain, food consumption and the efficient use of white rat (Rattus xanthurus) so that they can be utilized in animal breeding business.  The results showed that the type of food most preferred by the White Tailed Rat (Rattus xanthurus) female was papaya fruit 55.62 gr / head / day while males preferred the banana 49.28 gr / head / day. Weight gain in males is higher 17.79 g / head / day compared to females 10.09 g / head / day lower with 60 gr / head / day feeding. The highest efficiency of food use is found in males, this condition can be interpreted that the amount of consumption is enough to contribute to the weight gain of white tailed rats (Rattus xanthurus). The results of this study it can be concluded that the white tailed rat (Rattus xanthurus) prefers papaya fruit compared to other fresh foods.Keywords: Preference, Weight gain, White-tailed ra
KUALITAS SENSORIS YOGHURT SINBIOTIK MENGGUNAKAN PATI TERMODIFIKASI DARI UMBI UWI UNGU (Dioscorea alata)
YOGHURT SINBIOTIK SENSORY QUALITY USING MODIFIED STARCH FROM BULBS UBE PURPLE (Dioscorea Alata). The materials used in this study were 4.800 ml UHT milk, skim milk 8%, 6% sucrose, starch modified from Uwi purple tuber (Dioscorea alata) with a concentration of 0%, 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.3% , 0.4%, 0.5%, distilled water, alcohol, spritus, Thermopilus Streptococcus bacteria, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and materials that were used for sensory testing is mineral water, and cucumber. This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and the panelists were as replications. Organoleptic data measurement using hedonic test using 44 trained panelists. For a highly significant variable followed by HSD test. The variables were the color, aroma, texture, consistency and taste. Results of analysis of variance showed that the administration of the modified starch from Uwi purple tuber (Dioscorea alata) highly significant for color, aroma, texture, consistency and taste. Treatment with modified starch provision of uwi purple tuber (Dioscorea alata) as much as 0,4% of the best value of sensory qualities in the taste and texture of synbiotic yoghurt.Keywords: yoghurt, modified starch, tuber uwi purple, sensory propertie
KAJIAN TINGKAH LAKU MONYET EKOR PANJANG (Macaca Fascicularis) OBES DALAM KANDANG INDIVIDU
STUDY ON BEHAVIOUR OF THE LONG TAIL MONKEY (Macaca fascicularis) OBESE IN INDIVIDUAL CAGE. This study was designed to obtain information of development behaviour the obesity of long-tailed monkey (Macaca fascicularis) fed with high energy obes diet. The need of obese monkeys highly to model byomedis obesity. Obesity is now a universal problem that needs to be explored and studied. Therefore, the objective of this research was to develop obese adult male monkeys with high energy food for 12 months and monitoring their behaviour. Fifteen adult male monkeys 6-8 years old with the weight of between 4-5 kg were divided equally into three groups. The first group was body weight average 4.50 kg, the second group was body weight average 5.00 kg; and the third group was body weight average 4.75 kg. The results showed that body weight gave a significant effect (P <0.01) on daily behaviour and also gave a significant effect (P<0.01) on fed behaviour frequently,drink behaviour, agonistic behaviour, grooming behaviour, and locomotion behaviour .Keywords: Behaviour frequently, Long-tailed monkey (Macaca fascicularis), Obesity
