EVALUASI NILAI BIOLOGIS KALSIUM DAN FOSFOR YANG DIBERIKAN PAKAN LENGKAP, TEBON JAGUNG DAN RUMPUT RAJA PADA TERNAK SAPI FRIES HOLLAND (FH)
EVALUATION THE BIOLOGICAL VALUES OF CALCIUM AND PHOSPHORS TO GIVED COMPLETE FEED, CORN FORAGE, AND KING GRASS IN FH (fries Holland). This study aims to evaluate the biological value of calcium and phosphorus given complete feed, corn forage and king grass in FH (Fries Holland). The material used were 14 FH dairy cattle 7-8 years old, body weight 300-400 kg. The cages used were individual cages. The feed given were corn forage, king grass and concentrates. The analysis of t-test data (t-test two samples unequal variances) was used in this study, consisting of 2 types of treatment and 7 replications. They were Ra = 70% corn forage + 30% concentrate and Rb = 35% corn forage + 35% king grass + 30% concentrate. The observed variables were the consumption and digestibility of Ca and P of dairy cattle (FH). The result of research in this study that consumption of Ra was 36.10 g/head/day and Rb was 36.01 g/head/day. P consumption of Ra was 28.67 g/head/day and Rb 31.10 g/head/day (P<0.01). And then the average of Ca Digestibility in Ra was 74.28% and Rb was 80.64% (P,0.01). The digestibility of P in Ra was 75.78% and Rb was 82.62% (P<0.01). Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the digestibility of Ca and P with a feed formulation of 35% corn forage + 35% king grass + 30% concentrate is better than the formulation of 70% corn forage + 30% concentrate. Keywords: Digestibility, Consumption, Ca and P, Dairy Cattl
KECERNAAN PROTEIN KASAR DAN LEMAK KASAR PADA SAPI PERAH PERANAKAN FH (FRIESIAN HOLSTEIN) YANG DIBERI PAKAN LENGKAP BERBASIS TEBON JAGUNG
THE DIGESTIBILITY OF CRUDE PROTEIN AND CRUDE FAT ON FRIESIAN HOLSTEIN (FH) DAIRY COW FED COMPLETE FEED BASED ON CORN FORAGE. This study aims to determine the intake and digestibility of the crude protein and crude fat of complete feed based on corn forage. 14 FH dairy cows with 300-400 kg of weight were used in this study. This study was arranged in two treatment groups according to t-test (assuming unequal varience). The treatments consisted of Ra = 30% concentrate + 70% corn forage and Rb = 30% concentrate + 35% corn forage + 35% king grass. The variables measured were crude protein and crude fat intakes, and crude protein and crude fat digestibilities. t-test analysis results showed, the crude protein intake of Ra (934.23 grams/head/day) was not significantly different (P>0.05) from Rb (924.20 grams/head/day), as well as the crude fat intake of Ra (332.93 grams/head/day) was also not significantly different (P>0.05) form Rb (350.66 grams/head/day). The digestibility of crude protein in Rb treatment (85.34%) was significantly (P<0.05) higher than Ra (82.18%), while the digestibility of crude fat in Rb treatment (88.90%) was highly significant different (P<0.01) from Ra (84.31%). It is concluded that complete feed consisting of concentrate, corn forage and king grass has better crude protein and crude fat digestibilities than the other one that just consisting concentrate and corn forage. Keywords: digestibility, crude protein, crude fat, complete feed, FH cows

NUTRITION CHARACTERISTICS OF BUFFALO MILK FROM TORAJA, MAKASSAR. The study was conducted to analyze the nutritional content of milk in Toraja Belang Buffalo. The research method took samples of Toraja Belang buffalo milk in Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi. Sample was put at the cool box before analyzing its nutritional content. The nutrient content of the milk sample was analyzed using a Lacto scan analyzer to see water content, ash content, protein, fat, lactose and BKTL. The results showed that nutritional content of Belang Toraja buffalo milk consisted of protein (3.17%), fat (12.97%), lactose (4.37%), water content (79.49%), ash content (0.88 %) and SNF / BKTL (8.42%)
PEMANFAATAN BONGGOL PISANG (Musa paradisiaca L.) DALAM RANSUM TERHADAP PERFORMA AYAM BROILER
UTILIZATION Â OF BANANA CORM (Musa paradisiaca L.) IN DIET ON BROILER CHICKENS PERFORMANCE. The research on the utilization of banana (Musa paradisiacaL.) corm in broiler diet aimed to determine its effect on the performance of broilers, namely the feed intake, weight gain, and feed conversion ratio. The birds used were 100 unsexed days old chicks. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. The composition of the treatment as follows: R0 = 55% corn + 0% banana corm meal (BCM), R1 = 50% corn + 5% BCM, R2 = 45% corn + 10% BCM, R3 = 40% corn + 15% BCM. The result showed that the treatment had a significantly different effect on feedintake, body weight, and feed conversion ratio. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that banana corm can be used up to 10% in broiler chicken diet
PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN TEPUNG DAUN PEPAYA (Carica Papaya l) SEBAGAI PENGGANTI SEBAGIAN RANSUM BASAL TERHADAP PERSENTASE KARKAS DAN PERSENTASE LEMAK ABDOMEN AYAM PEDAGING
THE EFFECT OF THE USE OF PAPAYA LEAVES SUBSTITUTED TO BASAL DIET ON THE PERCENTAGE OF CARCASS AND ABDOMINAL FAT PERCENTAGE OF BROILER CHICKEN. This study aims to determine the effect of papaya leaf meal substituted to basal diet on the carcass weight, percentage of carcass, and abdominal fat of broilers. This study used 80 unsexed broilers, day old chick (DOC). The experiment used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. The arrangement of the experimental treatments was as follows: R₀ = 100% basal diet (BD), 0% papaya leaf meal (PLM), R₠= 95% BD + 5% PLM, R₂ = 90% BD + 10% PLM, R₃ = 85% BD + 15% PLM. The results showed that partial replacement of the basal diet with with papaya leaf meal had no significant effect on carcass weight and the percentage of broiler abdominal fat. The treatment gave a very significant difference on the percentage of carcass. On carcass percentage results showed that R0 was highly significant different from R3 but not significantly different with R2 and R1. Treatment R1 was significantly different from R3 but not significantly different from R2, whereas between treatments R2 and R3 were significantly different. Based on the results of this study it can be stated that the use of papaya leaf meal up to level of 15% can produce a good proportion of carcass and abdominal fat. Keywords: broiler, papaya leaf meal, carcasses, abdominal fat
KAJIAN PEMOTONGAN BABIRUSA (Babyrousa babirussa celebensis DENIGER) SEBAGAI SATWA ENDEMIK SULAWESI UTARA PADA BEBERAPA PASAR TRADISIONAL DI KABUPATEN MINAHASA
STUDY ON SLAUGHTER ACTIVITY OF BABIRUSA (Babyrousa babirussa celebensis DENIGER) AS THE ENDEMIC FAUNA IN NORTH SULAWESI AT THE SEVERAL TRADITIONAL MARKETS IN MINAHASA REGENCY. Babirusa (Babyrousa babyrussa celebensis D.) is categorized as a valuable germinal plasma and included into protected fauna since sixty years along a go. Therefore, this animal was noted into endangered animals. However, the hunting activities of the local community are occurring in the remote area of Minahasa as indicated by availability of meat trading of this animal. The objective of this study was to evaluate the slaughter activities dealing with meat trading of this endemic fauna on several traditional markets in Minahasa regency. Study was conducted by survey method focusing on hunters, traders and consumers buying meat of this animal on several traditional markets in Minahasa regency. Results showed that meat of Babirusa (Babyrousa babyrussa celebensis D.) were still traded and found on several traditional markets in Minahasa regency indicated by hunter existences of 0 to 25 percents, meat sellers of 8.33 to 50 percents, and fixed meat consumers of 58.33 to 100 percents of this animal. These cases were spreading on the traditional markets around districts of Tondano, Remboken, Kawangkoan, Langowan and Tanawangko. As the conclusion that slaughters and trading activities of the protected Babirusa (Babyrousa babyrussa celebensis D.) were existing recently in the remote areas of Minahasa Regency.Key words: Babirusa (Babyrousa babyrussa celebensis D.), endemic, Â traditional market
MARJIN PEMASARAN DAGING BABI DI PASAR TRADISIONAL REMU KOTA SORONG PROVINSI PAPUA BARAT
MARKETING MARGIN OF PORK IN REMU TRADITIONAL MARKET, SORONG CITY, WEST PAPUA PROVINCE.This study aims to determine the channel shape, margin and profit of marketing, and the price portion received by producers of pig at the Remu Traditional Market in Sorong City. The study used a survey method for producers, retailers and end consumers. Determination of the sample using accidental sampling techniques, where consumers who incidentally meet by researcher can be used as samples, if viewed by people who happen to be found suitable as a source of data according to research purpose. The results showed that the marketing of pig meat or pork in the Remu Sorong traditional market, there are two forms of marketing channels, namely direct and indirect. The selling price of pork at the retailer level is an average of IDR64.000/ kg, while the price at the final consumer level is IDR90.000 / kg carcass weight. Then the marketing margin at the retailer's level is IDR26.000, thus the portion received by the retailer was 71,11%,. The revenue at the retailer's level was IDR 31.790.000, with total cost amount IDR 26.424.500 and give the average profit amount IDR 5.365.500 each month successively. In conclusion, there were two forms of marketing channels, with the farmer’s share at 71.11% and the profits received by retailers at IDR 5.365.500 each retailer in Remu market, Sorong City
PENGARUH LIMBAH KULIT KOPI PENGOLAHAN SEDERHANA DENGAN LEVEL SUBTITUSI SEBAGIAN JAGUNG TERHADAP PENAMPILAN PRODUKSI AYAM PEDAGING
THE EFFECT OF SKIN WASTE COFFEE SIMPLE PROCESSING COFFEE WASTE WITH CORN SUBTITUTION LEVELS ON THE APPEARANCE OF CHICKEN PRODUCTION. The study aims to determine the extent of the effect of coffee skin waste in the ration on the appearance of broiler production. Chicken strain used by CP. 707 aged 1 day as many as 144 tails using a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial pattern 3 x 4 where, factor A1 is the skin of the sun dried, A2 soaked and A3 boiled. Meanwhile, Factor B is 4 levels of coffee skin substitution for corn where, B0 = 0%, B1 = 25%, B2 = 50%, B3 = 75% with each treatment of 3 replications. The results of the diversity analysis showed that, the interaction between coffee skin (A) drying, soaking, boiling with substitution level (B) had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on ration consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion. Meanwhile, different results are shown by the level of substitution (B) which gives a different effect (P <0.05) on body weight gain. ration consumption, feed conversion, i.e. portion of ration consumption 1014.18% - 125.47%, weight gain 25.13% - 54.95%, and ration conversion 2.28% - 2.55%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the coffee skin can replace some of the corn with the best replacement at the level of 25% in all processing methods.Keywords: Broiler, coffee skin waste, feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion
KARAKTERISTIK MORFOLOGI TIKUS HUTAN EKOR PUTIH (Maxomys hellwandii) DI TANGKOKO BATUANGUS BITUNG
MORPHPLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF WHITE TAILED MICE (Maxomys hellwandii) IN NATURE RESERVE FOREST OF TANGKOKO BATUANGUS BITUNG. This study aims to determine the types of white tailed mice that exist around the forest in Tangkoko, Batuputih village. This research was conducted using the observation method. The research results, it is known that there are two types of white tailed mice. A rat with a total length from head to tail for males with an average of 51.1 cm and females with an average of 45.6 cm, and an average body weight for males 272.1 g and for females 266.5 g. The tail is partially black and most is white, with an average length of 27.7 cm for males and 24.6 cm for females. Rat B in this study obtained mice that were only male and female and with a female body length of 49 cm. This rat weighs 305 g with live habitat at the root of the tree and likes to eat fruit. Base on observation result can be concluded that type A mice are included in the Maxomys helwandii type, while for type B rats are not yet known but are commonly referred to by local residents as deer mice because they have a deer head shape. Keywords: White tail forest rat, Morphological, Batuangus Nature Reserve
IDENTIFIKASI TELUR NEMATODA PADA FESES TERNAK BABI DI DESA KALASEY SATU KECAMATAN MANDOLANG KABUPATEN MINAHASA PROVINSI SULAWESI UTARA
IDENTIFICATIOS OF NEMATODE EGGS IN PIG’S FAECES IN KALASEY SATU MANDOLANG, DISTRICT OF MINAHASA OF SULAWESI UTARA PROVINCE. This study aims to determine and identify parasitic nematode worms through examination of worm eggs in pig feces. The number of worm eggs indicates the level of parasitic attack. Therefore, this study uses samples of pig manure collected from pigs in the Kalasey Satu Village, Mandolang District, Minahasa Regency. Samples will be tested using the floating method to see worm eggs. Worm egg identification was carried out in the laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry UNSRAT and analyzed descriptively and the number of worm eggs was calculated to see the level of attack on pigs. The results of this study found that from 23 pigs that had taken their faecal samples, 8 faecal samples were identified as being infected with Ascaris sp. and 1 of them was infested with Oesophagustomum sp. Three faecal samples from 3 month old pigs infected by Ascaris sp 2 samples containing Ascaris sp. and 1 sample containing Oesophagustomum sp.); 5 fecal samples of sows containing Ascaris sp. The conclusion of this study, that pigs that are in the area of Kalasey Satu Village have been infected by Ascaris sp. and Oesophagustomum sp. with a preavalence of 30,4% and 4,3%. Livestock conditions, feeding patterns and the environment around the cage are verry supportive of the growth and propagation of the intermediate host of endoparasites. Keywords: Egg, nematode, feces, pi
