    Abstract: The objectives of this research were to know how the application of NHT cooperative learningtype  with  writing  learning  journal  task  increases  the  students’learning  motivation,  the  students’metacognitive skills, and the students’learning achievement and also the students’ response towardsthe application of NHT cooperative learning type with writing learning journal task. The type of thisresearch was  CAR. The  results of  this research  showed that  students’learning motivation,  students’metacognitive skills, and students’ learning achievement were increased. Application of NHT cooperative learning type with writing learning journal task also got positive students response

      Abstract: In junior high, life skills is one of the objectives of learning process in Biology subjects. One of the lessons that can be used to achieve life skills is inquiry learning. The advantage of inquiry learning is physical and psychological involvement of learners in the learning process. The linear relation between inquiry with life skills was approached with actual learning experiences, while the linear relation between inquiry with learning experience can be observed through the science skills of students during the learning process. The linear relation between learning experience with life skills can be achieved through acquired attitude during continuous science skills practice in inquiry learning. Based on the relation between learning experience and inquiry learning in shaping life skills, it is necessary to develop authentic evaluation and same-subject teacher cooperation

      Abstract: This research aims at finding out the difference of metacognitive and cognitive abilities of the students (1) taught through Thinking Empowerment by Questioning (TEQ) and TPS with the students taught using multistrategy and learning journal, (2) with different academic abilities, and (3) given metacognitive strategies on the different academic abilities. The statistic analysis used were Anacova and LSD. The result of the research shows that there were (1) differences in metacognitive and cognitive ability of the students who were given metacognitive strategy through TEQ and TPS from those given multistrategy and learning journal, (2) no differences in metacognitive abilities of high and low academic abilities, (3) differences in cognitive abilities of high and low academic abilities, (4) differences in metacognitive abilities in students given different metacognitive strategies on different academic abilities, (5) no differences in cognitive abilities of the students with different academic abilities.given multistrategy and different metacognitive strategies

    Abstract: Many areas of the Mangrove is  in Indonesia were damaged. The Many factor caused the mangrove damage, are like social economic conditions of fisherman at around the mangrove. The objectives of this research is to identify the relationship between fishermans education background, knowledge of mangrove ecosystem, family economic status and attitude toward behavior. This recearch is a causal correlation with ex-post facto approach. Path analyses was used to analyzed the correlations between the research variables. Path analysis showed that there was significant relations of educational background, knowledge of mangrove ecosystem, family economic status and attitude toward fisherman behavior

    Abstract: This research aim at finding out the influence of learning strategy academic ability, and the interaction between learning strategy and academic ability with metacognitive skill, critical thinking ability and cognitive skill of the students. The approach of the research is quasi experimental, The data is analized in descriptive and inferential (ancova). The result of the research shows that, (1) there is an effect of learning strategy toward metacognitive skill, critical thinking ability, and cognitive skill of the students, (2) there is no effect of academic skill toward metacognitive skill but it has an effect toward critical thinking ability and cognitive skill of the students, (3) there is no effect of the interaction betwen learning strategy with academic skill toward metacognitive skill, critical thinking ability, and cognitive skill of students

    Abstract:Guided Inquiry is the learning strategy emphasizing on the students actively involvement in thestudent learning guided by the teacher to discover concept of science.  The learning activity started by theteacher  raising  problem  that was  then  solved  by  the  students,  in  the problem  solving,  teacher  gaveguidance or the ptactical work instruction was provided, the students was guided by the teacher whendiscovering the concept and furthermore the student drawn on a tentative conclusion. The intellectualdevelopment of elementary school’s students bilongs to conctrete operational categoty, they more easilylearn the concept of science if aided by the concrete media. Considering the students activity and the roleof teacher in guided inquiry, in order to empower the process skill and thinking competency of elementaryschool’s students, the guided inquiry learning is appropriate to apply
