    STUDI HASIL TANGKAPAN BYCATCH DAN DISCARD PADA PERIKANAN UDANG MANTIS (Harpiosquilla raphidea) MENGGUNAKAN ALAT TANGKAP GILLNET

    Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency has a great potential for mantis shrimp (Harpiosquilla raphidea) resources. This commodity is highly valued, as its price range from Rp. 143,600 to 180,700 for each individual. Annually, the total catches constitute 125,000-225,000 individuals, which become one of export commodities to various countries. In Tanjung Jabung barat, the mantis shrimp has been caught by using gillnet with mesh size of 10 cm. Unfortunately, mantis shrimp fishing deal with a significant number of bycatch and discards, which potentially have negative impact on sustainable fisheries resources. Therefore, the purposes of this study was to emphasis on sustainable fishing effort of mantis shrimp and identify the composition and proportion of bycatch and discards. A series of surveys was conducted for collecting the amount of species caught by gillnet during mantis shrimp fishing operation. The result shows that the bycatch and discards dominated the total catches making up to 54.99% (7 species) and 22.69% (7 species) respectively.     DAMPAK SOSIOEKONOMI MORATORIUM IZIN PENANGKAPAN IKAN DAN LARANGAN TRANSSHIPMENT DI KOTA BITUNG

    ABSTRACTThe implementation of moratorium on fishing permits and transshipment prohibition caused the cessation of large-scale fishing vessels operation in Bitung City. This condition has an impact on the decline in production of the fishing sector, which was affecting the supply of raw materials for the processing industry. This negative trend indicates a trade off in fisheries management, especially in socioeconomic dimensions. This research aims to analyze the impact of that policies on the socioeconomic dimensions of the fishing industry. This research was conducted in Bitung City from October to December 2017. Descriptive-explanatory case study approach was used in this study. Data was collected through document studies, FGDs, interviews and observations. Informant was selected by purposive sampling technique. The indicators refers to the Sustainable Fisheries Development Indicator System (Liu et al. 2011), and the compilation of fisheries industry cluster sustainability indicator (Purwaningsih and Santosa, 2015). Furthermore, to describe the relationship between policy’s program operations and impacts, a policy monitoring analysis is used. The results showed that the socioeconomic dimensions of fishing industry in Bitung City from 2015 to 2017 had experienced negative growth. Economically, it is indicated by a decrease in total catch production, production per fisherman, export volume, and fisheries contribution to Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDRP). On the social dimension, there was a decrease of number of workers, both fishing and processing sector. However, there are two indicators that have increased, namely the average of fishermen exchange rate and the ratio of local fishermen/crew to foreign crew members.Keywords: fisheries management, policy monitoring, socioeconomic dimensionsABSTRAKPenerapan moratorium izin penangkapan dan larangan transshipment menyebabkan terhentinya operasional kapal-kapal ikan skala besar di Kota Bitung. Kondisi ini berdampak pada penurunan produksi sektor penangkapan, yang memengaruhi pasokan bahan baku industri pengolahan. Tren negatif tersebut menandakan trade off dalam pengelolaan perikanan, khususnya pada dimensi sosioekonomi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak kebijakan terhadap dimensi sosioekonomi industri perikanan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober–Desember 2017 berlokasi di Kota Bitung. Pendekatan studi kasus deskriptif-eksplanatoris digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi dokumen, FGD, wawancara serta observasi. Penentuan informan dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Indikator yang digunakan mengacu pada Sustainable Fisheries Development Indicator System (Liu et al. 2011), dan kompilasi indikator keberlanjutan klaster industri perikanan (Purwaningsih dan Santosa, 2015). Selanjutnya, untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan antara operasi program kebijakan dan hasilnya (dampak), digunakan analisis monitoring kebijakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dimensi sosial ekonomi industri perikanan di Kota Bitung dari 2015 hingga 2017 telah mengalami pertumbuhan negatif. Secara ekonomi ditunjukkan dengan penurunan total produksi tangkapan, produksi per nelayan, volume ekspor, dan kontribusi perikanan terhadap PDRB. Pada dimensi sosial, terjadi penurunan jumlah pekerja, baik di sektor penangkapan maupun sektor pengolahan. Namun, ada dua indikator yang mengalami peningkatan, yaitu, rata-rata nilai tukar nelayan dan rasio nelayan/kru lokal terhadap ABK/kru asing.Kata kunci:  pengelolaan perikanan, monitoring kebijakan, dimensi sosioekonom

    EVALUASI KEBERLANJUTAN PERIKANAN GURITA DENGAN INDIKATOR EAFM (ECOSYSTEM APPROACH TO FISHERIES MANAGEMENT) DI KABUPATEN BANGGAI LAUT

    ABSTRACTOctopus production data show that catch in Banggai Laut waters is decreasing.  In addition, some destructive or illegal fishing gear such as spears, bombs and poisons are still used to catch octopus.  Given this alarming situation,  this study is intended to assess the sustainability status of octopus fishery in Banggai Laut Regency by means of the Ecosystem Approach Fisheries Management (EAFM) indicator.  Octopus catch data incorporating species and amount of catch, number of fishing efforts, mantle size, weight, fishing ground, and the type of protected species are obtained through direct observation on handline fishing and interviews with fishermen. Furthermore, the same method was applied to collect fishing techniques data including fishing efforts, fleet size, crew certification and data on illegal fishing practices.  The result shows that the status of octopus resource and the domain of fishing technique in Banggai Laut Regency is in the medium category with a value of 63.33 and 68.75 respectively. Accordingly, the sustainability level of octopus fisheries is in the moderate category with a value of 66.04.  Fisheries management related to the fishing practice that is targeting undersize octopus and exceeding the annual quota require further investigation in order to maintain the sustainability level of octopus fisheries.Keywords: Banggai Laut Regency, EAFM, octopus, sustainability levelABSTRAKInformasi tentang produksi menunjukkan bahwa hasil tangkapan gurita di perairan Banggai Laut cenderung menurun. Selain itu, penangkapan gurita masih ada yang menggunakan alat tangkap yang destruktif atau illegal seperti tombak, bom dan racun. Hal ini sangat mengkhawatirkan keberlanjutan sumberdaya gurita.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi status atau tingkat keberlanjutan perikanan gurita di Kabupaten Banggai Laut. Kondisi keberlanjutan perikanan gurita di Kabupaten Banggai Laut dianalisis menggunakan indikator Ecosystem Approach Fisheries Management (EAFM).  Data sumberdaya gurita diperoleh melalui pengamatan langsung dalam kaitannya dengan pancing ulur dan wawancara yang meliputi jenis dan jumlah produksi hasil tangkapan pancing ulur, upaya penangkapan, ukuran panjang mantel gurita, bobot gurita, spot daerah penangkapan gurita dan spesies yang dilindungi. Data teknik penangkapan ikan diperoleh melalui wawancara, survey dan observasi data yang meliputi data upaya penangkapan, jumlah armada penangkapan pancing ulur, sertifikasi awak kapal perikanan dan pelanggaran operasi penangkapan pancing ulur. Domain sumberdaya gurita di Kabupaten Banggai Laut termasuk dalam kategori sedang dengan nilai 63,33. Domain teknik penangkapan termasuk kategori sedang dengan nilai 68,75. Tingkat keberlanjutan perikanan gurita secara keseluruhan termasuk kategori sedang dengan nilai 66,04. Pengelolaan terkait penangkapan gurita yang berukuran tidak layak tangkap dan membatasi hasil tangkapan maksimal yang boleh ditangkap per tahun perlu dilakukan untuk menjaga tingkat keberlanjutan perikanan gurita.Kata kunci:  Kabupaten Binggai Laut, EAFM, gurita, keberlanjuta

    STRATEGI PENGELOLAAN PERIKANAN TANGKAP BERKELANJUTAN DI WILAYAH PESISIR KABUPATEN KUBU RAYA

    ABSTRACTKubu Raya Regency retains potential fisheries sector, yet its development is constrained by subsistence and traditional characteristic pertaining to fishermen, poor facilities and infrastructure, as well as limited information related to the fisheries sector. The purpose of the study is to determine strategies of sustainable coastal fisheries management in Kubu Raya Regency. It is conducted through survey and in-depth interviews with knowledgeable respondents to collect information related to SWOT variable and alternative strategies. Data consist of primary and secondary data. Primary data include strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the management of coastal fisheries in Kubu Raya Regency, whilst the later incorporates the utilization of fishing facilities and infrastructure in addition to fisheries production data. The study was conducted from April to August 2017. A combination of SWOT and AHP analysis was applied to select important strategies in sustainable fisheries management in Kubu Raya Regency. The result shows that priorities should be given to the improvement of infrastructure (0,404), the increasing of technology adoption (0,367) and the development of human and institutional resources (0,228). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menyusun strategi pengelolaan perikanan tangkap berkelanjutan di wilayah pesisir Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei dan wawancara mendalam dengan menggunakan key informan untuk mendapatkan variabel SWOT dan alternatif strategi. Data penelitian yang dikumpulkan yaitu data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer meliputi variabel kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan ancaman dalam pengelolaan perikanan tangkap di Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Data sekunder meliputi data penggunaan sarana dan prasarana penangkapan ikan dan data produksi perikanan di Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Penelitian dilakukan bulan April hingga Agustus 2017. Analisis data menggunakan kombinasi analisis SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportuinities, Threats) dan AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) untuk menentukan prioritas strategi pengelolaan perikanan tangkap berkelanjutan di Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan urutan prioritas strategi pengelolaan perikanan tangkap berkelanjutan yaitu peningkatan sarana dan prasarana (bobot 0,404), peningkatan adopsi teknologi (bobot 0,367) serta pengembangan sumber daya manusia dan kelembagaan (bobot 0,228).Kata kunci:  strategi pengelolaan, perikanan, wilayah pesisi

    PERHITUNGAN GT KAPAL IKAN BERDASARKAN PERATURAN DI INDONESIA DAN PEMODELAN KAPAL DENGAN DIBANTU KOMPUTER (STUDI KASUS KAPAL IKAN MUNCAR DAN PRIGI)

    A gross tonnage (GT) is a volume capacity of fishing vessel regarding its role in the fisheries resource utilization and management affairs. Information regarding GT is important, hence there is a need to conduct measurement in objective manner. The result of GT recalculation conducted by the Ministry of Transportation on under 30 GT fishing vessels showed that there is a significant difference between the documented GT and recalculated GT which indicates a massive mark down. Consequently, most of owners decline the later result as it goes higher and has impact on operational cost. Regarding that problem, this paper investigates the GT calculation process in Indonesia. In order to provide objective measurement, this research compares the existing GT calculation method and numerical computation. The result reveals that both methods produced different GT, which is about 32% gap for fishing vessels in Muncar and 27% gap in Prigi.Keywords: Gross tonnage, fishing boat, measurement, numerical computatio

    PARAMETER POPULASI KERAPU SUNU (Plectropomus sp.) DAN OPSI PENGELOLAANNYA DI PERAIRAN KARIMUNJAWA

    ABSTRACTGroupers are important fisheries resources in the tropic and sub-tropic due to it has high economic value, so that continuously exploitation even in some waters have collapsed and high capture pressureThe study aimed to identify population parameters of coral grouper (Plectropomus sp.) in Karimunjawa waters as basic information for fisheries management. Sampling method using fish landing observation method for fish catches in 14 days every month since 2010-2015 caught in Karimunjawa waters. Growth parameters, mortality, length at first capture, and recruitment pattern analysis using the Rstudio, FiSAT II and spawning potential ratio with LB-SPR analysis. The growth rate is relatively slow with k values ranging from 0.10 to 0.13 and lifespan of 21.93-27.73 years. The stock condition of the coral grouper species of P. leopardus, P. maculatus, and P. Oligacanthus was indicated overfished with E> 0.5 and SPR of 0.14, 0.22, and 0.25. These indicate that the 3 species of Plectropomus sp. in Karimunjawa is at unsustainable levels. Coral grouper type P. areolatus has E=0.45 and SPR=0.52, meaning that this type of grouper has a low exploitation rate and high spawning potential compared to other species coral grouper in Karimunjawa waters.Keywords: coral grouper, fisheries, Karimunjawa waters, stock statusABSTRAKIkan kerapu adalah sumber perikanan penting di daerah tropis dan sub-tropis karena bernilai ekonomis tinggi, sehingga terus dilakukan eksploitasi bahkan beberapa perairan telah mengalami collapse dan tekanan penangkapan yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi parameter-parameter populasi ikan kerapu sunu (Plectropomus sp.) di perairan Karimunjawa sebagai informasi dasar dalam pengelolaan perikanan. Metode pengambilan data menggunakan metode observasi (pengamatan) terhadap hasil tangkapan ikan selama 14 hari dalam satu bulan dari tahun 2010-2015 yang ditangkap di Perairan Karimunjawa. Analisis parameter pertumbuhan, mortalitas, length first capture, dan recruitment pattern menggunakan program Rstudio, FiSAT II dan rasio potensi pemijahan dengan analisis LB-SPR. Laju pertumbuhan tergolong lambat dengan nilai k berkisar 0,10-0,13 dan lifespan 21,93-27,73 tahun. Kondisi stok ikan kerapu sunu jenis P. leopardus, P. maculatus, dan P. oligacanthus diindikasikan mengalami kondisi tangkap lebih dengan E > 0,5 dan SPR sebesar 0,14, 0,22, dan 0,25. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penangkapan saat ini untuk 3 spesies kerapu sunu di Karimunjawa berada pada tingkat yang tidak berkelanjutan. Kerapu sunu jenis P. areolatus memiliki E sebesar 0,45 dan SPR 0,52, artinya kerapu jenis ini memiliki tingkat eksploitasi yang rendah dan potensi pemijahan yang tinggi dibandingkan jenis kerapu sunu lainnya di Perairan Karimunjawa.Kata kunci: kerapu sunu, perikanan, Perairan Karimunjawa, status sto

    ANALISIS EFISIENSI KINERJA RANTAI PASOK IKAN TUNA PADA CV. TUAH BAHARI DAN PT. NAGATA PRIMA TUNA DI BANDA ACEH

    ABSTRACTTuna fish is one of the easily perishable consumed food. Therefore before it reaches the consumers a well-designed and well-prepared supply management system is required The objectives of the research are to analyze the product, financial and information flows of tuna fish chain of supply in Banda Aceh through analyzing the performance efficiency of tuna fish supply chain performance at CV Tuah Bahari and PT Nagata Prima Tuna in Banda Aceh. Descriptive analysis is the method used to analyze the product, financial and information flows. Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR).  Is the method used to measure the supply chain performance efficiency. SCOR preceded with hierarchy preparation based on the SCOR process, i.e. plan, source, make, delivery and return with common dimensions i.e. reliability, responsiveness, flexibility, cost and asset.  The supply chain performance efficiency measurement in this research is also supported by the Analytical Hierarchy Process  (AHP) and  Objective Matrix (OMAX) methods  The result of the research pointed out that the tuna fish product and information flow at CV Tuah Bahari and PT Nagata Prima Tuna is not optimal yet, while the financial flow is optimal. In the outcome of CV Tuah Bahari performance efficiency, 4 KPI (Key Performance Indicator) is at Poor category, while at PT Nagata Prima 9 KPI are categorized as Poor. The total performance value of the company is at Average category, with total index value of 62.9 and PT Nagata Prima Tuna 52.7.   Keywords: performance efficiency, SCOR, supply chain, tuna fish ABSTRAKIkan tuna tergolong bahan pangan yang memiliki karakteristik mudah rusak. Oleh karena itu, untuk sampai ke konsumen diperlukan suatu sistem manajemen rantai pasok yang baik dan memadai. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis aliran produk, aliran keuangan dan aliran  informasi pada rantai  pasok ikan tuna di Banda Aceh, dengan menganalisis efisiensi kinerja rantai  pasok ikan tuna pada CV. Tuah Bahari dan PT Nagata Prima Tuna di Banda Aceh. Metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisis aliran produk, aliran keuangan, dan aliran informasi adalah analisis deskriptif. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengukur efisiensi kinerja rantai pasok adalah Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR). SCOR diawali dengan pembuatan hierarki awal yang didasarkan pada proses dalam SCOR, yaitu plan, source, make, delivery, dan return dengan dimensi umum, yaitu reliability, responsiveness, flexibility, cost, dan asset. Pengukuran efisiensi kinerja rantai pasok dalam penelitian ini juga didukung dengan metode Analytical Hierarchy Process  (AHP) dan Objective Matrix (OMAX). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aliran produk dan aliran informasi rantai pasok ikan tuna di CV. Tuah Bahari dan PT. Nagata Prima Tuna belum optimal, sedangkan aliran keuangan sudah optimal. Hasil pengukuran efisiensi kinerja CV. Tuah Bahari, 4 KPI (Key Performance Indicator) berada pada kategori Poor, sementara pada PT Nagata Prima Tuna terdapat 9 KPI berada pada kategori Poor. Total nilai performansi kedua perusahaan berada pada katagori Average, dengan nilai Index Total CV. Tuah Bahari 62.9 dan PT.     PENGELOLAAN PERIKANAN KARANG DI TAMAN NASIONAL WAKATOBI: PERSPEKTIF AKTOR DAN AGEN

    Stakeholders, who are agents and actors in this matter play an important role in the management of reef fisheries in Wakatobi National Park. This study aims to identify the agents and actors in Wakatobi Regency and to identify similarities and differences of the perception between agents and actors in the management of conservation areas. The method used is  Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The result showed that there was a similar perception between agent and actor in which that the conservation gives benefit for the society in Wakatobi and the lack of regulation in Wakatobi Regency. Different perceptions between actors and agents occurred due to fishermen intention to fully utilize the resources for their welfare while the government intents to limit the fishing area in order to preserve the natural resources and the environment. Therefore, management related to the  regulation on legal-size of fish and the effectiveness of marine protected areas are needed. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi agen dan aktor yang berada di Kabupaten Wakatobi serta melihat persamaan dan perbedaan persepsi antara agen dengan aktor dalam pengelolaan kawasan konservasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Hasil kajian menunjukkan adanya persamaan persepsi antara agen dan aktor yaitu konservasi memberikan manfaat bagi masyarakat yang ada di Wakatobi dan masih kurangnya peraturan di Kabupaten Wakatobi. Perbedaan persepsi pada aktor dan agen karena nelayan ingin memanfaatkan perairan Taman nasional Wakatobi semaksimal mungkin untuk kesejahteraan nelayan sedangkan pemerintah membatasi wilayah penangkapan dalam rangka menjaga sumber daya alam dan lingkungannya sehingga perlu tindakan pengelolaan yaitu penentuan ukuran ikan yang tertangkap dan pengefektifan daerah perlindungan laut.Kata kunci: Pemangku Kepentingan, Perikanan Karang, Konservasi, Wakatob

    KEBERLANJUTAN TEKNOLOGI PENANGKAPAN IKAN CAKALANG (Katsuwonus pelamis) DI PERAIRAN TELUK BONE, SULAWESI SELATAN

    The skipjack is one of important fishery commodities in Gulf of Bone waters, exploited by fishermen through the year using kinds of fishing gears such as pole and line, purse seine, traditional seine net, hand line,  and predicted that some of these technologies were not sustainable. The objective of research was to analysis sustanaibility or environmental friendly of fishing technology of skipjack in Gulf of Bone waters, and has been done for six months, from January to June, 2017. Biology data of catch, fishing technic,  and social economic of fishing unit of pole and line, purse seine, traditional seine net and hand line was collected directely by survey method. The sustainability or environmental friendly of fishing technologies be analyzed using 14 biology, technic, economic and social (Arimoto modified by Mallawa). Result that pole and line reach 76.88 % of sustainability value, pole and line operated in FAD 51.50 %, purse seine 51.25 %, purse seine with FAD 48.75 %, traditional seine net 48.13 $ and hand line 68.18 %.  Low sustainability of fishing technologies caused by small size dominantly in catch, percentage of catch suitable length, investment, income,  number of labour dan fuell used, and protected organism in catch. Keywords: Sustainability, fishing technology, SkipjackABSTRAKIkan cakalang merupakan komoditas perikanan penting di perairan Teluk Bone.  Ikan cakalang merupakan salah satu ikan target yang dieksploitasi nelayan sepanjang tahun menggunakan berbagai jenis teknologi penangkapan ikan seperti huhate (pole and line), pukat cincin (purse seine), payang (traditional seine net), pancing tangan (hand line) dan diduga ada diantara teknologi tersebut tidak berkelanjutan. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis keberlanjutan/keramahan lingkungan teknologi penangkapan ikan cakalang di perairan Teluk Bone, selama enam bulan (Januari - Juni 2017). Data biologi hasil tangkapan, teknis alat tangkap dan sosial ekonomi usaha penangkapan huhate, pukat cincin, payang, dan pancing tangan dikumpulkan secara langsung menggunakan metode survei. Keberlanjutan/keramahan lingkungan teknologi penangkapan ikan dianalisis menggunakan 14 kriteria sesuai metode Arimoto modifikasi Mallawa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa huhate rumpon mencapai nilai keberlanjutan 57,50 %, huhate tanpa rumpon 76,88 %, pukat cincin 51,25 %, pukat cincin rumpon 48,75 %, payang 48,13 % dan pancing tangan 68,13 %.  Rendahnya tingkat keberlanjutan teknologi penangkapan disebabkan oleh dominannya ikan ukuran kecil dan rendahnya ikan ukuran layak tangkap, nilai investasi, tingkat pendapatan, penggunaan tenaga kerja dan BBM dan tertangkapnya biota laut yang dilindungi.Kata kunci: Keberlanjutan, teknologi penangkapan, ikan cakalang

    AUTO-LION is a FADs innovation with a light attractor that can be activated automatically, so it can help fishermen to increase their effectiveness in fish catching, whether day or night. Study of fish behavior need to do to know the success of fishing gear and grade of fish anxiety to response that was given. Fish behavior is fish movement and fish response to the existing situation in the environment. Fish behavior can be influenced by the changes that occur in the waters and the kebiaaan fish. In the fishing coastal, fish can be attracted to fish-collecting equipment used as aids. The fish collection tool is a fishing aids that placed in the waters to attract the attention of the fish, so the fish gather in the area and facilitate the fishermen in the fishing operation. The use of light atractors is considered to be able to assist the fishing process, especially the lights used at night. The purpose of this study is to determine the number of fish approaching and the average response time of fish to the different treatment that is on FADs, light, and prototype AUTO-LION (combination of rumpon and light). The method used in this research is experimental fishing method with indication of fish response time when observation. The results of observation on the average of the approaching fish have differences in each treatment given. There was a difference (sign <0.05) indicating that the behavior of fish with the treatment of the average number of fish approaching, and no difference (sign> 0.05) time of fish to approach when treated. The average interest of the closest approaching fish is the combination of FADs with light.Keywords: AUTO-LION, FADs, light, fishABSTRAKAUTO-LION (Automatic Lighting Rumpon) merupakan inovasi rumpon dengan atraktor cahaya yang dapat aktif secara otomatis sehingga dapat membantu nelayan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dalam penangkapan, baik siang maupun malam hari. Studi mengenai tingkah laku ikan perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui keberhasilan alat dan tingkat ketertarikan ikan terhadap respon yang diberikan. Tingkah laku ikan merupakan pergerakan ikan dan respon ikan terhadap keadaan yang ada pada lingkungannya, dapat dipengaruhi oleh adanya perubahan yang terjadi pada perairan dan kebiasaan ikan. Dalam dunia penangkapan, ikan dapat tertarik dengan alat pengumpul ikan yang digunakan sebagai alat bantu. Alat pengumpul ikan adalah suatu alat bantu yang diletakan di perairan untuk menarik perhatian ikan, sehingga ikan berkumpul di daerah tersebut dan memudahkan nelayan dalam operasi penangkapan. Penggunaan atraktor cahaya dianggap mampu membantu proses penangkapan ikan di malam hari. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode experimental fishing dengan indikasi waktu respon ikan saat mendekati alat di setiap perlakuan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jumlah ikan yang mendekat dan rata-rata waktu respon ikan terhadap perlakuan yang berbeda yaitu pada rumpon, cahaya, dan prototype AUTO-LION (kombinasi rumpon dan cahaya). Hasil pengamatan terhadap rata-rata ikan yang mendekat memiliki perbedaan di setiap perlakuan yang diberikan.  Terdapat perbedaan (sign < 0,05) yang menunjukan bahwa tingkah laku ikan dengan adanya perlakuan terhadap rata-rata jumlah ikan yang mendekat, dan tidak terdapat perbedaan (sign > 0,05) waktu ikan untuk mendekat saat diberi perlakuan. Ketertarikan rata-rata ikan yang mendekat tertinggi adalah kombinasi rumpon dengan cahaya.Kata kunci: AUTO-LION, ikan, cahaya, rumpo
