Skripsi ini membahas tentang peranan ibu yang mengalami keterbelakangan mental dalam pendidikan anak. Namun sosok ibu yang ditampilkan dalam drama Daisuki adalah sosok ibu yang mengalami keterbelakangan mental yang mengalami kendala dalam menumbuhkembangkan potensi anak. Penelitian terhadap drama ini terfokus pada peranan ibu yang mengalami keterbelakangan mental dalam pendidikan anak yang terbagi menjadi dua yaitu, peranan ibu dalam proses sosialisasi primer anak dan peranan ibu dalam proses pendidikan akademik anak. Objek yang penulis teliti adalah tokoh utama. Oleh karena itu, penulis menggunakan teori tokoh dan penokohan dari BurhanudinNurgiyantoro.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ibu yang mengalami keterbelakangan mental dapat melakukan perannya dalam proses sosialisasi primer anak dan pendidikan akademik anak. Peranan ibu dalam proses sosialisasi primer seperti, melatih kemandirian anak, membina kedekatan emosional antara orang tua dan anak, mengajarkan etika, serta nilai moral. Sedangkan peranan ibu dalam proses pendidikan akademik anak seperti, memilihkan sekolah yang baik bagi anaknya dan partisipasi ibu dalam kegiatan Parent Teacher Assosiation (PTA). Parent Teacher Assosiation adalah suatu kelompok organisasi yang dibentuk dalam lingkungan sekolah. Kelompok ini terdiri dari orang tua siswa dan guru di sekolah tersebut. Namun dari hasil temuan dapat diketahui bahwa dalam proses tersebut Ibu yang memiliki keterbelakangan mental masih memerlukan peran significant others (orang yang paling dekat) untuk tugas-tugas tertentu. Seperti melatih anak buang air kecil di toilet, mengajarkan anak mengucapkan itadakimasu, memilihkan sekolah yang baik bagi anak, kegiatan konseling antara ibu dan guru kelas anak
A STUDY ON WORD FORMATION PROCESSES OF REGISTER USED BY DELTA 3.1.7 AIRSOFT TEAM COMMUNITY

Language is something that constantly develops and its developments are arranged through linguistic processes, thus the result of register in this study will also be analyzed by using word formation processes. In this case, the writer is interested in studying the registers used by DELTA 3.1.7 Airsoft Team community and using Wardhaugh’s theory to conduct this study, she also used Yule’s theory to analyze the word formation processes of register used. This study focuses on three problems; (1) What registers are used by DELTA 3.1.7 Airsoft Team community? (2) What are the meanings of registers used by DELTA 3.1.7 Airsoft Team community? (3) What word formation processes of the registers are used by DELTA 3.1.7 Airsoft Team community?.This study uses qualitative approach to describe the registers used by DELTA 3.1.7 Airsoft Team community to answer the problems of study. It was conducted with a goal to get the description and application of register used by DELTA 3.1.7 Airsoft Team community. Furthermore, the data of this study are transcription of direct interviews with all the members. This study found 28 registers used by DELTA 3.1.7 Airsoft Team community. The register was classified into four categories of word formation processes; 1 register of coinage, 6 register of borrowing, 1 compounding and 20 register of multiple processes. Register as variation of language is used in social groups to make their communication easier with each other in a group or working area.The writer hopes that next researchers do similar research on register withdifferent techniques and objects in order to give more contribution to the study of linguistics. The next researchers are supposed to use another theory to make theirresearch more different and unique. The writer hopes that this study will be a great model to conduct deeper analysis on Sociolinguistics
A STUDY OF FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE FOUND IN BRUNO MARS’ SONGS ON DOO WOPS & HOOLIGAN ALBUM

There are two problems to answer in the analysis. First is what figurative languages of the song are found in Bruno Mars’ Doo Woops & Hooligan album. For the second one is what messages of the song are found in BrunoMars’ Doo Woops & Hooliganalbum. The objectives of this study are to find out what figurative languages and messages of the song that are found in Bruno Mars’Doo Woops & Hooligan album. This study uses qualitative approach while the research design is content or document analysis. The data source used in this study is the lyrics of the 10 songs of Bruno Mars in Doo Wops & Hooligan album. This study uses the theory of figurative language by Kennedy and Gioia (2005). The data are 108sentences containing figurative languages in the lyrics found in Bruno Mars’ songs on Doo Wops and & Hooligan album. Those figurative languages are divided into 4 personifications, 10 similes, 35 metaphors, 28 hyperboles, 26 synecdoches, 4 apostrophes, 1 irony. The figurative language that is mostly used in this album is metaphor. The song writer uses the figurative language to add some elegance to the song. There are also messages of each song that were shown by the use of figurative language. The writer suggests that the future writers understand the theory of stylistics, especially about figurative language and its meaning to understand the contents of atext and also its messages and functions. Second is they could use another theory to make their study different from the writer’s. Third, if they want to conduct a studythat is related to the written media, it is suggested that they should decide the objectwell so it will not make any trouble when the study is going on
A SYNTACTIC ANALYSIS ON NEGATIVE MARKERS OF ‘NO’ AND ‘NOT’ FOUND IN THE JAKARTA POST JUNE 2013 EDITION

In communication, people usually deliver information, agreement, denial or negation, and many more. The concept of negation is universal or exists in every language in the world. Negation is the contradiction or denial of something. The writer chose the negat ive markers ‘no’ and ‘not’ as the object in discussing the negation in this research. They are just like having the same distribution and conveying the similar meaning in negation. Therefore, this study was done to answer the problems of the research, namely: (1) What are the categories of ‘no’ and ‘not’ based on their distribution in phrase found in The Jakarta Post June 2013; (2) What are thecategories of ‘no’ and ‘not’ based on their distribution in clause found in The Jakarta Post June 2013; and (3) What is the funct ion of negative markers ‘no’ and ‘not’ based on the scope and focus of the sentences found in The Jakarta Post June 2013.The method used in this research is qualitative approach and content or document analysis as the type of study. The data of this research were the sentences containing negative markers of ‘no’ and ‘not’ taken from the 4 articles of The Jakarta Post June 2013 which discussed the political issues. The writer took 4 articles based on their variety of negat ive markers of ‘no’ and ‘not’ in their distribution in phrase and clause.The result of this research shows that there were seven categories of negative marker ‘not’ based on its distribution in phrase. Four of them were discovered in the objects, and there were five categories of negat ive marker ‘no’ based on its distribution in phrase, in which only one of them discovered in the objects. Meanwhile, there were three categories of negat ive markers ‘no’ and ‘not’ based on their distribution in clause, in which all of them are discovered in the objects.On the other hand, the function of negative markers based on scope and focus gave variety to their meaning.The writer suggests the next researchers who want to do further research of this topic use other theories or the other negative markers in English. The next researcher can also conduct a research on the negation in its syntactic feature or semantic feature, or elaborate it with another field of study such as the morphological features to make their study more complete
A STUDY ON IMPLICATURE IN THE MAIN CHARACTER’S UTTERANCE OF MEGAMIND MOVIE USING RELEVANCE THEORY

In this study, the writer intends to analyze an implicature in Megamind Movie using Relevance Theory. This study is conducted to find out (1) the explicature conveyed in the utterances of the main character in Megamind movie. (2) The implicated premises and implicated conclusion conveyed in the utterances of the main character in Megamind movie. The writer uses Sperber and Wilson’s theory in analyzing the data.This study is qualitative study since the writer analyzed utterances taken from the dialogue of the main characters in Megamind Movie. Research design is document analysis. From the data obtained, the writer tried to find out the explicature, implicated premise, and implicated conclusion based on Relevance Theory proposed by Sperber and Wilson (1995).In this study the writer found 14 utterances that convey an implicature. To answer research problem the writer gave an example from the conversation that were taken from datum 2. The context of this conversation is when Megamind crashing Metroman’s Memorial Day by kidnapping Roxanne Ritchi. Metroman is threatening Megamind to put him into jail by saying We all know how this ends, with you behind the bars. The word ‘we’ refers to Metroman and all the citizen of Metro city, while ‘this’ refers to the battle between Megamind and Metroman. The last, ‘you’ refers to Megamind. Then, Megamind responses Metroman’s threat by saying Oh, I am shaking in my custom baby seal-leather boot. The word ‘I’ refers to Megamind. From the explicature, Megamind responds may irrelevant. But it conveys an implicature. There are many causes to make people shaking and that creates the implicated premises; Megamind is shaking because it is cold; Megamind is shaking because of terrifying; Megamind is shaking just because he wants to; Megamind is shaking just because he pretends to be. From the implicated premise. It may seem that Megamind terrifies being threatened by Metroman, but in reality Megamind does not fear at all. The intended meaning is he just pretending to be and mocking Metroman by showing his baby seal leather boot. Thus the implicated conclusion is Megamind does not fear of Metroman.The writer draws conclusion that Relevance Theory is concern with ostensive communication that is intentional communication through an addressee that can understand the speaker’s thought. This study hopefully can provide appropriate references for further researcher to conduct the research in implicature. It is recommended for the next researchers to conduct similar studies to be analyzed using Relevance Theory with different object such as novel, magazine or even article
THE SOUNDS OF AFRICAN-AMERICAN IN MAYA ANGELOU’S POEMS: ALONE, STILL I RISE, CAGED BIRD AND EQUALITY

The writer chose Maya Angelou’s poem since she is the most influence African-American woman through her works, especially in poetry. The problem to be solved in this study is: how does Maya Angelou reflect the sounds of African-American that she writes on her poems; Alone, Still I Rise, Caged Bird, and Equality?The writer applies Goldmann’s theory which is genetic structuralism in analyzing the intrinsic and extrinsic element of Maya Angelou’s poems. From Goldmann’s theory it is clearly mentioned that literary work could not be separated from the intrinsic and extrinsic element because the historical background of the author as the member of social group always give influenced to the work.The result of this research is found that there are three sounds of AfricanAmericanthat reflect in Maya Angelou’s poems: First, the sound of freedom that represent in Caged Bird, second, the sound of equality that represent in Equality, and third, the sound of racism that represent in Alone and Still I Rise.In the future, if there is a researcher who would like to analyze the same object, it is suggested to use post-colonial theory. By using post-colonial theory, it will help to reveal the effect of racial discrimination that happen toward African American life and their society

Dalam pragmatikmembahas tentang tindak tutur yang dilakukan oleh seseorang kepada seseorang yang lain untuk menyampaikan maksud dan tujuan yang mereka ingin sampaikan.Tindak tutur ilokusi menurut George Yule diklasifikasikan menjadi 5 dan salahsatunya yaitu ilokusi ekspresif,jenis tindak tutur yang menyatakan sesuatu yang dirasakan oleh penutur.Untuk mempermudah penelitian maka penulis merumuskan masalah yang akan dibahas sebagai berikut: (1) Tindak tutur ilokusi ekspresif apa sajakah yang terdapat dalam film “Himitsu No Akko Chan The Movie�, (2) Apa fungsi tindak tutur ilokusi ekspresif dalam film “Himitsu No Akko Chan The Movie†dilakukan?. Ilokusi ekspresif yang akan dibahas dalam penelitian ini hanya kesenangan dan kemarahan dengan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penulis menemukan 45 data temuan dalam penelitian ini, dan apabila dijabarkan beserta fungsinya sebagai berikut : (1) Tindak tutur ekspresif kesenangan memiliki fungsikonvivial mengucapkan terima kasih 2 temuan, mengucapkan syukur 5 temuan,menyakinkan 1 temuan, memuji 1 temuan dan mengucapkan selamat 1 temuan.Selain itu ada fungsi kolaboratif menyatakan 11 temuan dan mengumumkan 1 temuan. (2) Tindak tutur ekspresif kemarahan memiliki fungsi kompetitifmemerintah 4 temuan dan menuntut 3 temuan, sedangkan kolaboratif memerintah1 temuan. Selain itu ada fungsi konfliktif memarahi 3 temuan, menegur 2 temuan, mengomeli 3 temuan, mencerca 3 temuan, mengeluh 1 temuan, menuduh 1 temuan, mengecam 1 temuan, dan mengancam 1 temuan.Pada penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan akan ada yang meneliti lebi mendalam dengan objek yang sama namun dengan pembahasan yang berbeda. Misalkan meneliti dari segi tindak tutur ilokusi direktif beserta dengan fungsinya. Selain itu dapat juga meneliti dengan objek yang berbeda namun tema yang sama
KOMPOSISI DAN MAKNA IDIOMATIKAL KATA MAJEMUK NOMINA DALAM KORAN KOUGAKU EDISI 1 JUNI 2011

Kata dibedakan menjadi dua yaitu kata asal yang terdiri dari satu morfem dan kata jadian yang merupakan hasil turunan melalui proses morfologis. Salah satu proses morfologis adalah komposisi, yaitu proses penggabungan dua morfem atau lebih. Setelah melalui komposisi, makna kata majemuk tidak selalu sesuai dengan makna gabungan unsurnya, tetapi membentuk makna baru.Penelitian ini menggunakan koran Kougaku yang terbit 1 Juni 2011 dengan rumusan masalah, (1)Bagaimana komposisi yang dapat membentuk kata majemuk nomina pada koran Kougaku edisi 1 Juni 2011 dan (2)Apa jenis makna idiomatikal yang terkandung dalam komposisi kata majemuk nomina pada koran Kougaku edisi 1 Juni 2011.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Dengan data temuan adalah 28 data, data dianalisis morfem pembentuknya, menunjukkan makna tiap morfem, menganalisis makna kata majemuk tersebut, lalu mendeskripsikan hasil penelitian.Hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa kata majemuk nomina bahasa Jepang dapat terbentuk dari komposisi berupa nomina + nomina, verba ＋ nomina, adjektiva＋nomina, nomina＋verba yang dinominalkan, dan verba＋verba yangdinominalkan. Although in daily life, we often find people talking with foreign language insertion in their utterance. It is same with cartoonist when create comic they also inserting foreign language in their comic dialog. For example Gente~Ristorante no Hitobito~ comic written by Ono Natsume. Writer thought that is something interesting and decide to research mix code. The problems will be investigate: What are types, kinds, and mix code factors which used by restaurant staff and regular customer in Gente~Risutorante no Hitobito~ comic volume 1 and 2 written by Ono Natsume?  Writer use qualitative description research metode. Data source in this research is Gente~Risutorante no Hitobito~ volume 1 and 2 written by Ono Natsume. Total data obtained from data source is 152 mix codes.From this research had been found: 70 outer code mixings, 58 words, 8 phrases, and 15 expressions. The dominant factors of mix code in comic Gente~Risutorante no Hitobito~ volume 1 and 2: lexical needs, to limit conversation with another listener. Side factors of mix code in Gente~Risutorante no Hitobito~ comic volume 1 and 2: (1) setting and scene, (2) end, (3) key,and (4) instrumentalis

By the time, what human gains from nature and what human does to restore the nature are not balanced and the effects can be felt gradually. Many ways human do to campaign and stop this phenomenon. Mass media such as movie is one of the interesting media to describe the earth’s conditions and it can be as the media object of research by using Ecocriticism theory. Astro Boy animated movie describes the environmental degradation caused by human’s bad behavior such as consumerism which causes waste.  This research is qualitative research and uses Ecocriticism  theory. In this research, the environmental degradation will be explained through the texts and pictures.  The findings of this research show the environmental degradation such as pollution, air and soil. Pollution has great effects for all creatures especially for human beings, short term or long term effects. Air pollution is caused by piles of waste that buried on the ground and make plants cannot grow. Plant is important for the air circulation. The effects of air pollution are irritation, respiratory infection, and even more serious are cancer, liver, heart disease, and so on. Besides air pollution, soil pollution also caused by piles of waste. The toxins elements through the air or rain water will be absorbed by the  ground and contaminate the ground water. Human whose consume the ground water that contaminated before will get great effects such as intestinal disease. For children, they will get serious effects, they potential to impair cognitive development, loss several IQ points and get mental retardation.  In sum, movie can be the media object to observe the phenomenon that happen in the world. To enhance the knowledge of Ecocriticsm, the further writer can use song as the media object to observe the phenomenon of environmental degradation
