DAMPAK IJIME PADA TOKOH TOKIKO UMEZAWA DALAM NOVEL TENSEIJYUTSU SATSUJIN JIKEN KARYA SOJI SHIMADA

Karakteristik Ijime adalah (1. Dilakukan terhadap seseorang yang lemah 2. Selain itu, dilakukan secara terusmenerus menyerangfisik maupun psikologis 3. Korban akan mengalami rasa sakit yang serius). ijime bisasaja terjadi didalam atau di luar lingkungan sekolah.Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan teori Sosiologi sastra. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analisis.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Tokoh Tokiko Umezawa mengalami tindakan ijime baik ijime verbal, fisik dan relasional, namun bentuk tindakan ijime yang paling banyak ia terima adalah ijime relasional (pengabaian). Tindakan-tindakan ijime yang ia terima menimbulkan dampak antara lain Tokiko Umezawa menjadi kesepian, putus asa, mencoba untuk melakukan bunuh diri, membalas dendam terhadap orang-orang yang melakukan ijime terhadap dirinya, serta memfitnah Masako sebagai pelaku pembunuhan yang ia lakukan.Penulis menyarankan bagi penelitian selanjutnya yang ingin meneliti novel Tenseijyutsu Satsujin Jiken, dapat meneliti tokoh utama dengan menggunakanteori psikologi
CONCORDANCE DE TEMPS DU PASSÉ PADA KLAUSA HUBUNGAN SEBAB-AKIBAT KALIMAT MAJEMUK BERTINGKAT DALAM NOVEL ALICE AU PAYS DES MERVEILLES
Get PDFKata Kunci: concordance de temps du passé, hubungan sebab-akibat, alur Concordance de temps du passé merupakan penyesuaian bentuk kata kerja kala lampau pada kalimat majemuk dalam bahasa Prancis sebagai cara dalam memahami alur suatu peristiwa. Bentuk ini merupakan pengetahuan yang sangat diperlukan bagi pembaca khususnya pembelajar bahasa Prancis untuk memahami pola penceritaan tidak hanya pada kalimat namun juga keseluruhan isi cerita dalam novel. Oleh karena itu, peneliti mengadakan studi tentang concordance de temps du passé pada klausa hubungan sebab-akibat kalimat majemuk bertingkat yang terdapat dalam novel Alice au pays des merveilles (AAPDM). Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) Bagaimana deskripsi concordance de temps du passé pada klausa hubungan sebab-akibat kalimat majemuk bertingkat dan (2) Bagaimana keterkaitan alur pada klausa hubungan sebab-akibat kalimat majemuk bertingkat yang menggunakan kata kerja kala lampau. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan sebab-akibat pada kalimat majemuk bertingkat yang menggunakan kata kerja kala lampau. Studi deskriptif digunakan karena studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis fenomena klausa hubungan sebab-akibat yang dihubungkan dengan teori-teori action concordance de temps du passé, yakni antériorité, postériorité, simultanéité agar nantinya dapat diketahui bentuk alur yang muncul. Hasil studi menunjukkan hanya terdapat dua action dari concordance de temps du passé yang terdapat dalam novel, yakni action simultanéité dan action antériorité. Action simultanéité memiliki jumlah data sebanyak 9 sedangkan action antériorité yang dapat menunjukkan bentuk alur mundur memiliki jumlah data sebanyak 2. Sebagian besar konjungsi yang ditemukan adalah konjungsi hubungan sebab, yakni comme dan parce que. Dengan demikian, sebagian besar hubungan dari klausa dalam kalimat majemuk bertingkat ialah hubungan sebab. Peneliti menyarankan kepada peneliti selanjutnya untuk memfokuskan salah satu action concordance de temps du passé yakni action antériorité yang menunjukkan alur mundur pada novel atau action postériorité yang menunjukkan alur maju dalam bentuk karya sastra lain seperti naskah drama atau film
THE INTERPRETATION OF MESSAGE AND THE SOCIAL IMPACT OF SELECTION CONTRIBUTOR’S THREAD ON YOUNG ON TOP KASKUS COMMUNITY (YOTKC)
Get PDFKeywords: Critical Discourse Analysis, Interpretation of Message, and SocialImpact.This research aims to interpret the message in selection contributor’s thread on Young on Top Kaskus Community and analyze the social impact of the thread toward the kaskus users and hence tries to answer the problems of the study, i.e.: (1) what are the interpretation on the messages performed by Billy Boen on his motivational threads, (2) What are the textual interpretations performed by kaskusers on Billy Boen’s mot ivat ional threads, and (3) What are the social impact found on Billy Boen’s motivat ional threads.This research uses Critical Discourse Analysis theoretical framework from Norman Fairclough consisting of textual analysis, discursive practice, and sociocultural process. On the level of textual analysis, it has a purpose to interpret the message on Billy Boen motivational threads by using staging, perspectivization, and choices of word theories from Renkema. Discursive analysis is used to analyze the textual interpretations perfomed by kaskusers on his motivational threads. While social analysis is used to find out the impacts of his threads toward kaskusers. The writer used qualitative approach and document or content analysis method in conducting the research. The data were collected from kaskus especially from Billy Boen’s mot ivat ional threads and the comments posted by ISO kaskusers.The results indicate that (1) on staging analysis; Billy Boen’s utterances have already proved the theory of staging because most of his utterances use the same style of staging proposed by Renkema. In terms of perspectivization analysis, Billy Boen uses vision perspectivization rather than empathy perspectivization on his utterances, meanwhile on choices of words analysis, Billy Boen is balanced in using standard and non standard words on his utterances. (2) Most of ISO kaskus users basically can understand the messages on his motivational threads. (3) Most of ISO kaskusers are basically willing to do his advice and the number of ISO kaskuser who agrees with his opinion on his motivational thread are quite a lot.The writer suggests the next researchers to have good understanding on Critical Discourse Analysis especially how to relate between language, power, ideology and its social impact toward society. Then, the next researcher also needs to use the other theory than Critical Discourse Analysis theoretical framework proposed by Norman Fairchlough (1995)
A SEMIOTIC ANALYSIS ON WHISKAS’S BIG CAT LITTLE CAT EDITION PRINTED ADVERTISEMENT

It is a mass marketing technique which persuades the consumers to buy the product which is being advertised. The writer use Whiskas’s Big Cat Little Cat Edition printed advertisement to analyze. There are two problems of the study namely (1) What kinds of semiotic signs are used on Whiskas’s Big Cat Little Edition Printed Advertisement; (2) What is the meaning of each sign used on Whiskas’s Big Cat Little Edition Printed Advertisement.In this study, a qualitative approach by document analysis is applied to analyze and identify the signs, find out the meaning of the sign and the relation between the slogan and the sign found in Whiskas’s Big Cat Little Cat Edition Printed Advertisement. The writer uses Peirce’s typology on sign in analyzing the dataBased on the result, the writer found that there are signs total by 69 signs consisting of 32 icons, 27 indexes and 10 symbols found in the advertisements based on Peirce’s typology of sign theory. Based on the study that has been conducted towards the printed advertisement of Whiskas’s, the iconic signs were mostly used. Each sign has the role to strengthen and support the idea of the advertisement. The logo of Whiskas and the slogan “feeding your cat’s insctinct†appears in almost all of the advertisement. They become the controller of the advertisement’s idea.The researcher suggests Faculty of Cultural Studies to provide more books about semiotic both in English and Bahasa Indonesia since there are only a few books available in the library. The next writers are also suggested to find out other research’s object such as billboard advertisement, TV advertisement, internetadvertisement, movie posters, political cartoons and so on to gain a better understanding in Semiotic. SIMBOL BUDAYA CELTIC PADA FESTIVAL-FESTIVAL KEAGAMAAN DI BRETAGNE PRANCIS : KAJIAN SEMIOTIK

Salah satu budaya tertua di Prancis adalah budaya Celtic di Bretagne. Representasi budaya yang menarik dapat diamati melalui sebuah festival. Festival Santo Yves (Festival Bretagne) dan Festival Santo Patrick merupakan contoh festival keagamaan dengan budaya Celtic terbesar di Bretagne. Oleh karena itulah, penulis tertarik untuk menjadikannya sebagai objek penelitian dengan rumusan masalah sbb: (1) bagaimana perwujudan budaya Celtic yang tercermin pada festival-festival keagamaan yang diadakan di Bretagne, Prancis dan (2) bagaimana makna dari simbol-simbol budaya Celtic tersebut dianalisis berdasarkan kajian semiotik.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisa semiotik Peirce dengan tujuan menguraikan secara deskriptif makna dari simbol-simbol budaya Celtic pada festival-festival keagamaan di Bretagne. Adapun, sumber data yang digunakan berasal dari video pelaksanaan Festival Bretagne di Vilaine tahun 2010 dari situs fetedelabretagne.com dan video Festival Santo Patrick di Luçon tahun 2013 dari Télé Luçon Sud Vendée.Penulis menyimpulkan hasil temuan sebagai simbol dengan perpaduan baik ikon maupun indeks yang direpresentasikan melalui aksesoris maupun benda yang dibawa peserta festival. Temuan lainnya adalah perwujudan budaya Celtic pada festival-festival keagamaan di Bretagne dapat dipetakan ke dalam beberapa konsep, seperti dualitas, demografi, kesucian, simbolisasi, kerja sama, kekerabatan, penokohan dan trinitas.Bagi peneliti selanjutnya disarankan agar dapat menambah teknik pengumpulan data, seperti observasi maupun wawancara dengan pihak terkait untuk mendapatkan data yang lebih mendalam
ERROR ANALYSIS IN THE TRAVEL WRITING TEXTS MADE BY THE STUDENTS OF STUDY PROGRAM OF ENGLISH

The process of language learning is the time when the language learners make mistakes or error. In writing, the learner must avoid producing error in order to compose a goodwriting. Regarding the errors made by the language learners, this study wasconducted to answer: (1) what kinds of errors in surface strategy taxonomy aremade by the fifth semester students of English Study Program in producing theirtravel writing texts? and (2) what is the dominant type of error made by the fifthsemester students of English Study Program in producing their travel writingtexts?This study used qualitative approach in relation to the use of clear and systematic description about the phenomena being studied. It is to describe thedata obtained from English Department students’ literary work in the form ofwritten texts.This analysis finds the grammatical errors which are made in the travel writing produced by the fifth semester students of Study Program of English Department of Universitas Brawijaya based on surface strategy taxonomy theory which consists of four types of errors. They are (1) omission, (2) addition, (3) misformation and (4) misordering. Mostly the errors occuring in misformation are in the use of tense form. Secondly, the errors are in omission of noun/verbinflection. The next error, there are many clauses that contain unnecessary phrase added there. According to the researcher, the cause why the students made such errors is that because of their limited vocabulary, so they just put the words they knew without concerning to any caution of inappropriate words or meaning.The researcher suggests the students who are interested in conducting thesame field should fill the gaps and lacks that cannot be fulfilled by this study. She also suggests that the next researcher should complete their future analysis, especially on an error analysis by using other theories than Dulay’s theory
PELANGGARAN MAKSIM KERJA SAMA GRICE DALAM KOMIK HUMOR PRANCIS LES BLONDES TOME 1

Salah satu disiplin ilmu linguistik yang mengkaji penggunaan bahasa berdasarkan konteksnya ialah pragmatik. Dalampragmatik terdapat prinsip kerja sama Grice yang dapat dipatuhi dan dilanggaroleh para pelaku tutur. Pelanggaran tersebut muncul karena beberapa alasan,misalnya untuk menciptakan kelucuan. Bentuk kelucuan yang sering ditemuiadalah dalam media komik humor, salah satunya adalah komik humor Prancis“Les Blondes Tome 1†karya Gaby dan Dzack. Oleh karena itu, penelitian inibertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan bentuk pelanggaran maksim apa saja yang terdapat dalam komik humor Prancis “Les Blondes Tome 1†(2) mendeskripsikan cara maksim-maksim tersebut dilanggar dan (3) mendeskripsikan tujuan dari pelanggaran maksim tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan analisis secara deskriptif untuk membuat gambaran secara sistematis serta untuk memaparkan banyak informasi yang berhubungan dengan data yang diteliti secara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cerita dalam komik humor Prancis Les Blondes Tome 1 ini mengandung bentuk pelanggaran terhadap maksim kuantitas, maksim kualitas, maksim relevansi dan maksim pelaksanaan. Adapun bentuk pelanggaran yang lebih produktif digunakan ialah pelanggaran terhadap maksim relevansi. Cara pelanggaran maksim-maksim tersebut dimunculkan melalui ambiguitas makna, permainan makna dan tindakan yang tidak relevan dengan konteks. Hal ini berkaitan dengan tujuan pengarang dalam memunculkan efek humor serta untuk menunjukkan stereotipe perempuan blonde yang identik dengan ketidakpandaiannya dalam memahami ujaran sederhana.  Bagi peneliti selanjutnya, disarankan untuk dapat menambah kajian pragmatik dari segi humor untuk melihat bentuk pelanggaran maksim yang lebih sering digunakan serta memperluas kajiannya pada media film humor, cerita pendek humor atau reality show humor Prancis lainnya.Â
AN ANALYSIS OF TABOO WORDS IN THE LYRICS OF LIMP BIZKIT ON ALBUM GOLD COBRA

But, sometimes listeners misunderstand with the contexts meaning of taboo word in the songs. In order to avoid misunderstanding, the listener have to understand context meaning in the lyric than the listener understand what the purpose of the lyric that is created by the composer. This study analyzes taboo words in the lyrics of Limp Bizkit. The aim of this study is to find out: (1) the taboo words used in the lyrics of Limp Bizkit (2) the categorizations of taboo words used in the lyrics of Limp Bizkit. This study uses a qualitative approach. The data of this research are words, phrases, and sentences which contain taboo words. The source of the data is collected from the lyrics of Limp Bizkit’s songs which are taken from their official website. The results of this research show that 21 kinds of taboo words are found in the lyrics. The categorization of taboo are devided into seven types of taboo, they are Mother in Law, Certain Game Animal, Sex, Death, Excretion, Bodily function, and Religious Matter. Only 1 of 12 songs does not contain taboo words. And there is no data found in The Left Hand type of taboo because that is strongly asociated with gestures. The researcher suggests that English learners should pay attention about the usage of taboo words in order to be able to use taboo words in proper circumstace. For other researchers, this research can give information and knowledge about Sociolinguistics especially taboo words
MAGIC REALISM IN QUEEN OF THE SPARROWS SHORT STORY BY JANET E. IRVIN

Literature is part of life since the story which is appointed in the literary works is influenced by life phenomenon. One of life phenomenon happening in reality is theoccurrence of magical thing. Magic realism is a narrative style created to narratemagical thing or fantasy in the reality. Magic realism is unique since it is an oxymoron or a term which is built by two contradiction words. The word “Magic†signifies an extra ordinary or fantasy while the word “Realism†signifies reality or world with nothing of fantasy. This research aims to find out the magic realism’s elements and what is the correlation of each element in constructing magic phenomenon in the reality. This research uses the concept of magic realism’s elements by Faris to reveal the magic realism’s element employed by the author in Queen of the Sparrows shortstory and a concept of defocalization to reveal the correlation of those elements inconstructing magic phenomenon in reality through the author’s point of view. Then,those concepts will lead the discussion about the magic realism’s element in Queen ofthe Sparrows short story. In this short story, the author transforms herself in the narration and character’s dialogues toward the existence of Amrita’s magical experience in the story. It can be seen in the finding and discussion such as irreducible element of Amrita’s magical experience, the detail description of the phenomenal world used as background of the occurrence of Amrita’s magical experience, unsettling doubts in the Merit’s role toward Amrita’s magical experience that lead the readers’ hesitation, merging realms of Merrit’s modern rationality and Victor’s traditional myth in the naming of Amrita, and disruption of time, space, and identity toward Amrita as an ordinary girl who is experiencing magical event. Then, those five elements are established to construct magic realism of the story. For the next researchers who want to look for new object to be analyzed, they are extremely suggested to use magic realism in other kinds of narrative fiction sincemagic realism is a unique concept in the narrative fiction as the modes and themesbecause there are two contradictory world blended in the story
FOREST EXPLOITATION AS REPRESENTED IN THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS MOVIE

One of the causes of the forest exploitation is greediness of authority by someone. The movie entitled The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers reveals some causes and effects of forest exploitation caused by Saruman’s greediness of authority.This research applies Ecocriticism as an approach to analyze a movie entitled The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers. This study also applies movie studies.The result of the study reveals that forest exploitation causes many effects to the environment. In the movie, Saruman as a wizard who becomes the main antagonist exploits all trees in the forest of Fangorn for his interest to win the war with human. The forest exploitation causes bad effects for three aspects such as forest, denizen, and environment around forest of Fangorn. Those effects cause imbalance to the cycle of ecosystem which disrupt the life of many living beings.For future researchers, it is advisable to conduct further studies on the same movie but with different approaches. One of the examples is Racism approach, because Racism approach can be used to analyze the reflection of Orcs as black people are slaved by Saruman
