TINDAK TUTUR ILOKUSI KOMISIF DALAM ANIME SENGOKU BASARA: JUDGE END EPISODE 1-12
Kata Kunci : Pragmatik, Tindak Tutur Ilokusi, Tindak Tutur Ilokusi Komisif, Â Anime Penelitian yang berjudul tindak tutur ilokusi komisif dalam anime SBJE ini digunakan untuk memahami tentang jenis tindak tutur dan makna yang terdapat dalam sebuah anime. Berdasarkan alasan di atas agar penelitian ini lebih terfokus, maka ditetapkan rumusan masalahnya yaitu: (1) Apa jenis tindak tutur ilokusi komisif yang terdapat dalam Anime Sengoku Basara: Judge End Episode 1-12 dan (2) Apa makna tindak tutur ilokusi komisif yang terdapat dalam Anime Sengoku Basara: Judge End episode 1-12.Teori tindak tutur dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori Searle. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasildalam penelitian ini ditemukan 111 data. Jenis Tindak tutur Ilokusi Komisif bersumpah berjumlah 30 data, berniat berjumlah 23 data, menawarkan berjumlah 13 data, menyanggupi berjumlah 11 data, berjanji berjumlah 14 data, menjamin berjumlah 14 data, dan mengancam berjumlah 6 data. Sedangkan makna tindak tutur yang ditemukan adalah (1) bersumpah: menunjukkan sifat kesetiaan para samurai terhadap tuannya serta harga diri mereka terhadap lawannya, (2) berniat: menunjukkan ambisi yang kuat baik untuk menaklukkan dunia maupun sekedar menjadi yang terbaik, (3) menawarkan: menunjukkan tawaran untuk bekerja sama, (4) menyanggupi: menunjukkan kepercayaan terhadap kemampuannya masing-masing dalam menjaga amanah, (5) berjanji: menunjukkan niatan yang harus direalisasikan oleh penutur, (6) menjamin: memiliki makna untuk meyakinkan agar lawan tutur memberikan kepercayaan pada penutur, (7) mengancam: menunjukkan peringatan dari penutur terhadap lawan tutur untuk mencegah suatu tindakan yang akan dilakukan oleh lawan tutur.Pada penelitian berikutnya disarankan untuk membahas mengenai tindak tutur ilokusi dengan jenis selain komisif menggunakan kajian yang berbeda atau melakukan penelitian tentang tuturan-tuturan ragam bahasa pria (danseigo)
ADDRESS TERMS USED BY SUKU ANAK DALAM
Keywords: Address Terms, Orang Rimba, Bahasa Rimba.There are many ethnic groups in Indonesia which use specific languages. One of them is Suku Anak Dalam or called Orang Rimba. Suku Anak Dalam is a semi nomadic ethnic group living in National Park of Bukit Dua Belas, Jambi. They use Bahasa Rimba to communicate to each other. In Bahasa Rimba to address someone is the most important things to be considered. Bahasa Rimba has some variations and also has some social functions. The writer conducted a study about address terms used by Suku Anak Dalam by using Kridalaksana classification of address terms and Wardhaugh’s theory on the function of address terms. This study focuses on two problems: (1) What are the address terms used by Suku Anak Dalam, (2) What are the functions of address terms used by Suku Anak Dalam.This study uses qualitative approach to describe the address terms used in Bahasa Rimba and answer the problems. There are two types of data employed in this study, namely primary and secondary data. They are in the form of transcription of the observation result and in the form of transcription of interview result. Moreover, this study is a qualitative research because the writer only analyzed the data without any statistical number.This research finds 28 address terms used by Suku Anak Dalam which are classified into four categories; 4 terms in second personal pronouns, such as diria, mikae, senamo and urangmeru; 8 terms in kinship terms, such as induk, bepak, kakok, nenek jenton; 4 terms in title and rank categories, such as temenggung, bepak kepala adat, ibu guru; and also 12 terms in other categories, such as guding, bebet, kinde, waris and jenang. Furthermore, address terms used by Suku Anak Dalam has some social functions such as to show politeness, to show intimacy, to show solidarity, and to maintain social status.To summarize, address terms used by Suku Anak Dalam has some variations, by the title or rank, sex, age, etc. The address terms are used to address their family, their neighbor, the people around, their friends, their teacher, the people who already passed away, and even the stranger. The function of the address terms that is found in this study are to show politeness, intimacy, solidarity, and also to maintain social status. The writer also hopes that this study can provide better and deeper explanation especially on address terms in Bahasa Rimba. The writer suggests the next researchers who want to conduct a research about Bahasa Rimba focusing on different linguistic aspects such as, semantic,syntax, pragmatic, etc. for their research, so that their study is different and unique
THE IMPLEMENTATION OF TEACHING ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILL FOR AUTISTIC STUDENT IN SD MUHAMMADIYAH 4 BATU (A CASE STUDY OF AN AUTISTIC STUDENT)
Keywords: Autistic Children, Learning difficulties, Teaching Speaking.Almost all children with autism have abnormality and or developmental disorders appear before the age of three years with type characteristics not normally in three areas: social interaction, communication, and behavior repeated as defined. The impairments which exist in autistic children will affect their learning process also. Therefore becoming aware of learning difficulties faced by autistic children and getting the necessary help early can become the key to an autistic child’s future. The researcher focuses on kind of learning difficulties faced by autistic children in case of learning English in speaking skill, kind of teaching difficulties faced by teacher in case of teaching English speaking skill for autistic children, and also focuses on kind of teaching strategies which are used by SD Muhammadiyah 4 to overcome the learning difficulties faced by autistic children. This study used qualitative approach. The subject being investigated was an autistic child on the third grade at SD Muhammadiyah 4. The data were obtained from observation in IIIB class and in the participant’s house. In answering the second and the third of problem of the study, the researcher also interviewed the teacher and the parents of the student. The result reveals that there are learning difficulties faced by autistic children such as having poor concentration, difficulties in memorizing vocabulary, having a low confidence, having less eye contact, having inability to make a good interaction with others, difficulties in understanding complex sentence, and difficulties in communication. Meanwhile, teaching difficulties such as the difficulty in making communication with the autistic child, difficulty in teaching vocabulary, and difficulty to make student focus on the lesson. The teaching media used by the teacher some visual aids, video, and English song. The teaching strategies include drilling, Donkey Bridge, speech therapy, interviews activity, and describing picture.The researcher suggests the school to add the number of teacher in class in order to maximize the teaching process. For the teacher, they should read more references deals with autistic children. For the parents, they should keep updates to their child’s condition and give them a routine therapy. For further researcher, they can investigate the teaching strategies used in teaching other English skills such as writing, reading, and listening for autistic children
SARTRE’S EXISTENTIALISM IN URSULA WILL JONES’S VUSI MAKUSI
Keywords: existentialism and essences, being for others, bad faith, Vusi Makusi. Vusi Makusi is a short story published in 2011, which has also become the runner up in Guardian newspaper’s short story competition. Makusi, as the main character, holds everything which he believes. He does everything based on his beliefs.The purpose of this research is to analyze Makusi as the main character in the short story creates his essences, which becomes an optimist person. “Optimist†here means he has a strong decision in doing everything. However, to others his decision is useless. Besides, this research also analyzes other characters. It is how others see Makusi with his strong belief.Sartre’s existentialism theory in his Being and Nothingness and in his Existentialism is Humanism become proper theory to describe why Makusi chooses himself to be someone who has a strong decision in choosing everything. It also becomes a proper theory to analyze others’s perspectives of Makusi. There are three concepts which are used to analyze Makusi and others. Those are Existentialism and Essence, Being for others and Bad faith.By analyzing and interpreting the data, it is known that the result is, Makusi has realized and even understood that no one can shape his essences except himself. It is also known that it is Makusi himself who decides himself becoming a person who has a strong decision in his own belief. Then, from his choice, it brings the risk of other’s judgments. KESALAHAN PENGGUNAAN SETSUZOKUSHI SOSHITE (ã ã—ã¦), SOREKARA (ãれã‹ã‚‰), DAN SORENI (ãれã«) PADA MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI PENDIDIKAN BAHASA JEPANG ANGKATAN 2012 UNIVERSITAS BRAWIJAYA
Kata Kunci : Kesalahan, Setsuzokushi Setsuzokushi mempunyai peranan yang sangat penting di dalam pembentukan kalimat bahasa Jepang, yaitu untuk menghubungkan kalimat dengan kalimat atau merangkaikan bagian-bagian kalimat. Setsuzokushi (konjungsi) merupakan salah satu kelas kata yang termasuk ke dalam jiritsugo yang tidak dapat mengalami perubahan. Ada berbagai macam setsuzokushi di dalam bahasa Jepang, diantaranya soshite, sorekara dan soreni. Ketiga setsuzokushi tersebut memiliki makna yang hampir sama namun memiliki fungsi yang berbeda-beda jika digunakan dalam sebuah kalimat. Hal tersebut menyebabkan pembelajar bahasa Jepang sering melakukan kesalahan. Oleh karena itu, penulis melakukan penelitian tentang fungsi dan penyebab kesalahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab 2 rumusan masalah, yaitu (1) Apa sajakah kesalahan fungsi setsuzokushi soshite, sorekara, dan soreni yang dilakukan mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang angkatan 2012 Universitas Brawijaya, (2) faktor-faktor apa saja yang menyebabkan mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang angkatan 2012 Universitas Brawijaya melakukan kesalahan dalam menggunakan setsuzokushi soshite, sorekara, dan soreni. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode gabungan kuantitatif dan kualitatif.Metode kuantitatif digunakan untuk menjabarkan instrumen penelitian dan kualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis data secara rinci untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan fungsi dan faktor penyebabnya. Data yang diteliti berupa kesalahan penggunaan setsuzokushi soshite, sorekara, dan soreni beserta penyebabnya dengan instrumen berupa tes dan angket.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada beragam kesalahan fungsi soshite, sorekara dan soreni yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang angkatan 2012. Kesalahan paling banyak dilakukan adalah fungsi sorekara yang memiliki makna soreirai, yaitu sebesar 85%.Kesalahan yang paling sedikit dilakukan adalah fungsi soshite dan sorekara yang digunakan untuk menggabungkan kejadian yang berturut- turut yang berhubungan dengan waktu, yaitu sebesar 37%. Faktor penyebab kesalahan, diantaranya adalah salah menghipotesiskan konsep sebesar 36%. Penerapan kaidah yang tidak sempurna sebesar 25%. Ketidaktahuan akan pembatasan kaidah sebesar 20% dan penyamarataan berlebihan sebesar 19%
REPRESENTASI FEMINISME RADIKAL PADA TOKOH AOMAME DALAM NOVEL 1Q84 KARYA MURAKAMI HARUKI
Kata Kunci: feminisme radikal, 1Q84, novel, pembunuhan, posmodernisme. 1Q84 merupakan novel trilogi karya Murakami Haruki. Novel ini bercerita tentang dua orang tokoh utama yang terjebak dalam sebuah dunia paralel pada tahun 1984 yang dinamai 1Q84. Penelitian ini difokuskan hanya kepada tokoh utama wanita, yaitu Aomame. Tokoh Aomame ini memiliki peran yang cukup penting di dalam alur cerita novel 1Q84. Aomame adalah seorang pembunuh bayaran yang hanya membunuh laki-laki pelaku kekerasan terhadap perempuan. Semua korban Aomame adalah laki-laki yang suka menyiksa istri dan/anak-anak secara fisik dan seksual. Di dalam kajian teori feminisme, teori yang mengutamakan pembebasan perempuan dari segala bentuk dan tindak penindasan yang dilakukan oleh laki-laki sebagai landasan utama adalah teori feminisme radikal. Teori inilah yang membuat penulis melihat tokoh Aomame sebagai representasi feminisme radikal. Hal ini disebabkan karena dasar pemikiran teori feminisme radikal adalah pemusnahan segala bentuk dan tindakan penindasan terhadap perempuan. Sehingga penulis berpendapat bahwa pembunuhan yang dilakukan Aomame adalah bentuk tindakan feminisme radikal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana representasi feminisme radikal pada tokoh Aomame. Teori yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian adalah teori feminisme radikal dan teori penokohan. Sementara itu, metode kualitatif digunakan sebagai metode penunjang untuk memperjelas langkah-langkah penulisan penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah ditemukannya bukti bahwa tokoh Aomame memiliki gambaran feminisme radikal dalam memaknai sistem seks/gender, seksualitas, dan lesbianisme
THE EXPOSURES OF SCOTTISH CULTURE IN DIANA GABALDON’S OUTLANDER
Keywords: Culture, Scotland, Outlander, novel.Culture and society are related to each other and inseparable. Based on Koentjaraningrat (2009), culture consists of seven elements called Cultural Universal.That is, culture appears in every country around the world, including in Scotland. Theproblem of this study is on how Scottish culture is exposed in a novel.This study aims to find out the culture of Scotland in Diana Gabaldon’s novel entitled Outlander. This novel tells about the experience of an English woman named Claire Randal Fraser when she lives in Scotland. To support the analysis, sociological approach to literature about the theory of culture is applied. This theory is used toanalyze the elements of Scottish culture appear in the novel.Since the main character of this novel experienced the culture of Scotland, the result of this study shows that the culture of Scotland is mostly influenced by the culture of Celtic. The elements of culture are reflected in the novel are the Gaelicspeaking of the people of Scotland, the local genius of Scottish ancient medication, the leadership system of a Scottish clan, the necessities shared by the people of Scotland including the house, food beverages and the clothing, the Quarter Days as farming system of Scotland, the rituals and superstitions shared by the people as the belief system, and the folktales that are handed through generations.In conclusion, the culture of Celtic influences Scottish culture from the language, medication, necessities of Scottish people, farming system, superstitions and rituals, and the folktales. English culture also influences Scottish culture in the clan system. The other researchers need to do further studies in the novel Outlander by exploring the novel with historical approach to expose deeper about the history of Scotland
THE SPEECH STYLE OF STUDENTS IN CLASSROOM INTERACTION OF ARABIC CLASSES ON PONDOK MODERN DARUSSALAM GONTOR 1 PONOROGO
Keywords: speech style, conversation, student, teacher.While most people are born with thephysical ability to talk, not all can communicate well unless they make specialefforts to develop and refine this skill further. This study was aimed to answer three problems of study. They are (1) what arethe speech styles used by the student while having conversation with his friend and his teacher in Arabic class on Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor 1 Ponorogo (2)what the style occurs dominantly used by the student while having conversation with his friend and his teacher, and (3) what are the possible factors causing the uses of speech style when they communicate with the teacher and their friends. In this study, the researcher used the theory from Ryding (2005) about speech styles and Holmes (1992) about factors which influence the speech style.In this study, the researcher used descriptive qualitative approach because the researcher more focused on the explanation and description. The data of this studywere 30 conversations between student and student, and student and the teacher ofhigh, middle and low level class in Arabic class. In analyzing the data, the researcherdid the process of style identification and explanation about the style and the possiblefactors of using certain style.The result shows that while having conversation with the teacher, all students in high level class used formal style, in middle class almost all of the student used formal style, and in low class level, half of the student used formal style. While having conversation with his friend, almost all student in high, middle and low level class used the combination of formal and informal style. In addition, there were threepossible factors influencing the uses of speech style. Those factors were theparticipant (social status), setting and topic, but there were also some conversations which were not influenced by those three factors which could be caused by the lack of competence.From this study, the researcher suggest the next researcher analyze the speechstyle using another theory such as from Chaika, Holmes, Keraf and etc. The researcher also suggests future researchers analyze the function of speech style indaily conversatio
KEMAMPUAN SISWA KELAS XI SMA NEGERI 1 WONOAYU TAHUN AJARAN 2013-2014 DALAM MEMAHAMI KATA TUNJUK BAHASA JEPANG
Kata Kunci: Kemampuan, Shijishi, Shiji daimeishi, dan Rentaishi.Penunjukan nomina maupun persona dalam bahasa Jepang menggunakan kata tunjuk (shijishi). Dalam Shjishi dibagi menjadi tiga yaitu: daimeishi, fukushi dan rentaishi. Untuk menunjukkan benda menggunakan kore,sore,are dan untuk menerangkan kata benda menggunakan kono+N, sono+N, ano+N. hal ini akan semakin membingungkan para pembelajar khususnya pembelajar bahasa Jepang dasar. Dalam penelitian ini penulis akan menjawab rumusan masalah yaitu (1) Bagaimana kemampuan siswa SMA Negeri 1 Wonoayu dalam memahami kata tunjuk bahasa Jepang khususnya kore, sore, are dan kono, sono, ano dan (2) Kesulitan apa yang dihadapi siswa SMA Negeri 1 Wonoayu pada saat akan menggunakan kata tunjuk bahasa Jepang khususnya kore, sore, are dan kono, sono, ano.Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif yang menggunakan tes dan kuisioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa responden kurang memahami kore, sore, are dan kono, sono, ano. Kemampuan rata-rata siswa sebesar 42, 84 pada soal kore, 44 pada soal sore, 47, 33 pada soal are, 40, 76 pada soal kono, 42, 61 pada soal sono, 36, 76 pada soal ano dan berdasarkan klasifikasi kemampuan termasuk dalam kelompok kurang. Kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa ialah tidak hafal huruf hiragana dan katakana, tidak hafal kata tunjuk bahasa Jepang, tidak hafal kosakata bahasa Jepang, tidak dapat membedakan partikel.Penulis menyarankan kepada pengajar agar memberikan penjelasan secara mendetail tentang pelajaran bahasa Jepang khususnya kata tunjuk bahasa Jepang.Selain itu, seorang pengajar sebaiknya mengetahui permasalahan atau kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa. Sedangkan saran kepada pembelajar ialah agar lebih banyakmenghafal dan mempelajari kembali tentang kata tunjuk khususnya kore,sore,aredan kono,sono,ano
POLITENESS STRATEGIES USED BY THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES OF INDONESIA IN THE 2014 FINAL PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE
Keywords: Politeness, Face Threatening Act (FTA), Politeness Strategy, Debate.As social creatures, people need to interact with others. Sometimes, people do an action that threaten their interlocutor’s face when having communication. Therefore, people should consider the politeness aspects and apply the politeness strategy to minimize the face threat. The writer conducted a study about FTA and politeness strategies occuring in the 2014 final presidential debate. There are two problems of the study that are proposed by the writer: (1) What face is threatened by each presidential and vice presidential candidates in the final debate and (2) What are the types of politeness strategies performed by the presidential and vice presidential candidates in the final debate.This study used qualitative approach to gather and analyze the data. It was included into document analysis because it analyzed the script and conversations performed by the 2014 Indonesia presidential candidates.From the result of the analysis, there were 28% of utterances that contain face threatening acts and politeness strategies performed by the presidential candidates of Indonesia. Also it showed that most of the candidate frequently threatened other candidates’ negative face and they used positive politeness strategies more often than the other strategies. It indicates that each candidate wanted to still maintain a good relation to each other.The writer suggests the next researchers to analyze face threatening acts and politeness strategies in other media such as in a live talkshow. They can also analyze debate program using other field of study like Critical Discourse Analysis to know the power and ideology behind a debate
