PENGGUNAAN FUKUSHI DALAM SURAT KABAR ONLINE ASAHI SHIMBUN EDISI 9 DAN 10 FEBRUARI 2015
Kata kunci: Fukushi, Surat kabar online, dan Asahi ShimbunDalam mempelajari suatu bahasa pasti kita akan mengenal kata. Kata adalah satuan terkecil yang membentuk kalimat. Dalam kelas kata pasti kita akan mengenal kata keterangan atau adverbia dan ini penting untuk dipelajari. Di dalam penelitian ini maka penggunaan fukushi yang digunakan sebagai objek penelitian.Dari latar belakang tersebut, maka rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) Termasuk jenis apakah fukushi yang digunakan dalam surat kabar Asahi Shimbun edisi 9 dan 10 Februari 2015 (2) Bagaimana fungsi penggunaan fukushi dalam surat kabar Asahi Shimbun edisi 9 dan 10 Februari 2015. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, yaitu metode yang hasilnya berdasarkan pengamatan peneliti itu sendiri dan data yang dihasilkan berupa kalimat-kalimat deskriptif dari hasil penelitian. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah surat kabar Asahi Shimbun edisi 9 dan 10 Februari 2015.Di dalam surat kabar Asahi Shimbun edisi 9 dan 10 Februari 2015 tersebut, ditemukan 79 kalimat yang mengandung fukushi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) ditemukan 2 kalimat jootai no fukushi, 76 kalimat teido no fukushi, dan 1 kalimat chinjitsu no fukushi (2) pada jootai no fukushi berfungsi menerangkan verba berikutnya, untuk teido no fukushi hampir semua berfungsi menerangkan tingkat atau taraf yoogen, hanya beberapa yang berfungsi menerangkan nomina dan chinjitsu no fukushi adalah fukushi yang memerlukan cara pengucapan khusus.Dari penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa fukushi yang sering di gunakan dalam penulisan surat kabar yaitu Asahi Shimbun adalah teido no fukushi. Adapun saran untuk peneliti selanjutnya adalah melakukan penelitian dengansumber yang berbeda misalnya dari film ataupun karya sastra yang lain
CHILDREN’S LITERATURE: THE ADULTS AGENDA FOUND IN FLORA ANNIE STEEL’S THE TWO SISTERS FAIRYTALE
Keywords: children’s literature, adults agenda, fairytale, The Two Sisters.In writing children’s literature, adults frequently convey the adults agenda to create well-behaved children. One of popular genres of children’s literature is fairytale. Beyond the magical and adventure inside fairytale, the adults agenda exist in this genre. Perry Nodelman, a scholar of children’s literature gives his statement regarding to position of adults in children’s literature. Nodelman explains that actually adults colonize children covertly in children’s literature.This research is focused to find the adults agenda in The Two Sisters fairytale written by Flora Annie Steel. This research is analyzed using qualitative method. In this research, the data are collected by reading The Two Sisters fairytale. Children’s literature theory by Nodelman is the effective theory to analyze the relation of adults and children in children’s literature. Moreover, the adults agenda can be identified using this theory.The result of this research is there are two big adults agendas found in The Two Sisters fairytale. The first agenda is to dictate children to be good in family and society. The second agenda is to show the position of adults, that adults are strong whereas children are weak. The second adults agenda consist of three sub agendas. The second adults agenda also dictate that it is dangerous for children to have their own desire. Besides, children are dictated to depend on adults, and children are convinced they are weak than adults.Fairytale as one genre of children’s literature cannot be separated from the adults agenda. The existence of the agendas is to make the readers good by learning something from it. Adults believe that the agendas in fairytale are created by adults for the kindness of children. It is to create the ideal characteristic of children based on adult’s standard. It means, the agendas from adults to children are to fulfill the desire of adults. The writer suggests to the next study to analyze the other genres of children’s literature. However, there are many theories in critizing children’s literature. It is suggested to apply Deconstruction theory for the next study to crticize the appearances of the main characters in children’s literature who run out from the stereotypes
HARMFUL RECIPROCAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUMAN AND NATURE PORTRAYED IN THE EPIC MOVIE
Keywords: Ecocriticism, Human and Nature, Environmental, Epic Movie Environmental problems become the trending topic in development of modern technology era nowadays. The environmental problems are studied specifically in ecocriticism. These problems are usually caused by unbalance relationship betweenhuman and nature. In this research, the researcher analyzes harmful reciprocal relationship between human and nature portrayed in the Epic movie. The problem ofthe research is divided into two points; (1) The harmful reciprocal relationship between human and nature, (2) The impacts of the relationship between human andnature described in the Epic movie.This research uses qualitative method to analyze data because the data are in the form of utterances and figures taken from the movie. In addition, the researcher explains the result in the form of description rather than numeral. Hence, qualitativemethod is the most appropriate method to analyze Epic movie. Furthermore, Ecocriticism is used to analyze the movie.The result shows that humans can exploit nature as research object without any concern about the impacts. Nature is also exploited as medium to establish human’s power. Humans gain benefit from the relationship because they can improve their quality of life but nature becomes increasingly damaged. Moonhaven which is originally beautiful with balance ecosystem becomes unbalance and dry.The researcher suggests the next researchers to use Ecocriticsm theory in analyzing different movie like “The Lorax Movie†to show the impact of development of technology toward nature. This movie tells that humans create artificial natural object such as trees which are made of plastic. Moreover they must buy fresh oxygen to respire. Â
MENTAL LEXICON PRODUCED BY THE FIFTH SEMESTER STUDENTS OF STIKES BINA SEHAT PPNI MOJOKERTO (A CASE STUDY OF WORD ASSOCIATION TEST)

Psycholinguistics has three areas, they are language production, language comprehension and language disorder. This research investigates more in language production using word association test. Word association test is a test to give response on a stimulus word. This research intends to investigate word association produced by the medical students. The researcher uses Peppard’s theory (2007) to classify word association type. There are two aims in this research. The first is to find out the types of word association produced by the fifth semester students of Stikes Bina Sehat PPNI Mojokerto and the second is to find out to what extent their medical knowledge influences the participants in choosing the responses.This research uses qualitative approach. The researcher uses word association test to collect the data. There are 8 stimulus words which trigger 448 responses from 56 participants. In analyzing the data, the researcher uses two steps. Firstly, the researcher classifies the data into three types of word association based on Peppard’s theory. Secondly, the researcher analyses the data and gives explanation about each of the classification.This research indicates syntagmatic response as the highest response which consists of 198 responses in encyclopedic knowledge, 106 responses in collocation and 58 responses in multi word item. The second type is found in paradigmatic response which consists of 4 hyponymy, 45 hypernymy, 31 synonymy and 6 coordination. Phonological and orthographical response are not found in this research. In some stimulus words, the participants produce responses that has relationship with medical knowledge. It proves that the participants are influenced by their medical knowledge and experience in choosing responses.The researcher suggests Study Program of English to provide more references about psycholinguistics to enrich the related literature. Besides, the researcher also suggests for the next researchers, to apply word association test in other groups of participants or investigate more about how female and male produce response word in word association test
PENGGUNAAN DAN FUNGSI SHUUJOSHI ZO DAN ZE DALAM ANIME ONE PIECE THE MOVIE Z KARYA EICHIIRO ODA
Kata kunci: Anime, Joshi, One Piece, ShuujoshiShuujoshi merupakan partikel yang diletakkan di akhir kalimat, dan digunakan berbicara dengan lawan bicara untuk menyampaikan perasaan. Partikel yang termasuk dalam shuujoshi yaitu, ka, yo, na/nee, sa, zo dan ze. Dalam penelitian ini difokuskan pada penggunaan dan fungsi shuujoshi zo dan ze dalam anime one piece the movie Z. Shuujoshi zo dan ze merupakan shuujoshi yang digunakan oleh pria. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu (1) apa saja penggunaan dan fungsi shuujoshi zo dalam anime one piece the movie Z (2) apa saja penggunaan dan fungsi shuujoshi ze dalam anime one piece the movie Z.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, metode deskriptif digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan dan fungsi shuujoshi zo dan ze dalam anime one piece the movie Z karya Eichiiro Oda.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 40 kalimat yang menggunakan shuujoshi zo dan 12 kalimat yang menggunakan shuujoshi ze. Menurut hasil analisis shuujoshi zo dapat digunakan setelah kata benda dengan menambahkan bentuk da di belakangnya, kata kerja, kata bentuk rashii, kata sifat, sedangkan fungsi shuujoshi zo yaitu untuk menyatakan perintah, ancaman, menyatakan ketegasan pembicara, menarik perhatian dari lawan bicara. Sedangkan shuujoshi ze dapat digunakan setelah kata bentuk ajakan, darou, rashii, kata sifat, kata kerja bentuk biasa maupun kamus. Sedangkan fungsi shuujoshi ze yaitu untuk menyatakan ajakan, menyatakan ketegasan pembicara dam menarik perhatian dari lawan bicara
SOCIAL PRACTICES AS IMPLEMENTED FROM THE TEXTUAL ANALYSIS IN VANGUARD: SEX, LIES AND CIGARETTES DOCUMENTARY FILM
Keywords: Critical Discourse Analysis, Social Practice, Textual Analysis, Intertextuality This study is about the analysis of Vanguard: Sex, Lies and Cigarettes the documentary film by using Fairclough (1992) three dimensional models theory ofCDA. The first objective of this study is to describe the meaning constructions found in the textual analysis as uttered by the reporters and the interviewees in Vanguard: Sex, Lies and Cigarettes the documentary film, while the second one is to find out the aspects of social practice implemented from the the textual analysis in Vanguard: Sex, Lies and Cigarettes the documenary film.A qualitative method was used to analyze the data. The writer collected the data by transcribing all utterances produced by the reporter and four interviewees. The data is from 59 (fifty nine) utterances out of all utterances which contain the issue of Indonesian smoking children. In analyzing the data, the writer used textual analysis and social practice analysis from three dimensional models as proposed by Fairclough (1992).The textual analysis has been done to describe and to analyze the utterances by using five techniques of intertextuality in order to construct the meaning on it. Then, the textual analysis has confirmed to find out the aspects of social practice which is divided into two aspects: public discourse control and mind control.The result of this study confirmed that text, as the result of social structure and social interaction has emerged social practices. In line with linguistic features, textual analysis through techniques of intertextuality could implement the aspects of social practice toward the phenomenon of Indonesian smoking children as shown in Vanguard: Sex, Lies and Cigarettes the documenary film. Moreover, all aspects of social practice have equally big influence for attracting Indonesian children to smoke. Â Finally, the writer suggested the next writer to apply and to elaborate more theoris of CDA, especially structural content for completing the textual analysis to understand the structure under such condition of certain text. THE ANALYSIS OF IMPLICATURE MEANING ON MALANG ONE WAY REGULATION PROTEST 2013
Keywords: Pragmatics, Implicature, Linguistics & Physical context, Social Context Language is used any time by a person in communication process. In fact many people use different ways to express anything in their mind. Implicature is one of the ways by implicating a meaning and producing hidden meaning. Therefore this study has problems which are : 1. What is the implicated meaning in Malang oneway protest? ; 2. What are the reasons and the purposes of the residents in making the protest?. This study discovers an intended meaning from the protest banners which were collected when Malang One Way regulation 2013 was applied by using Linguistics Context, Physical Context and Social Context.  The writer collected the data by photographing many mounted protest banners in Jl. MT Haryono and Jl. Mayjend Pandjaitan (Betek) and choose some data that contain implicated meaning. In analyzing process, this research using descriptive qualitative method that requires the writer to interpret and then describes the intended meaning behind the data with his background knowledge and the phenomena happen. Furthermore, this study finds out that the data contains implicated meaning and represents residents idea of dissatisfaction to Malang One Way regulation 2013. They tend to implied meaning packed on protest. In this study, the reader will find Linguistic Context, Physical Context, and Social Context theory used by the writer to discover any intended meaning, reason, and purposes. The writer suggests to the next researcher interested in a similar topic which is implicature to use Relevance Theory from Sperber and Wilson. This theory use background knowledge and context to build an exact meaning on implicature. ANALYSIS OF TEACHING METHODS IN AN ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (EFL) CONTEXT: A CASE STUDY AT CITRA BERKAT SCHOOL

Nowadays English is an International language which been used as a means of communication in several bilingual schools in Indonesia such as Citra Berkat School. Teaching English as a foreign language is not as easy as teaching the first and second language because the students have not accustomed to acquiring the foreign language. It needs several teaching methods to help the learners successful to use it at school. This research is intended to analyze the teaching methods which are used in Citra Berkat School and the effectiveness of the teaching methods at the school as an EFL (English as Foreign Language) context.This study used qualitative methods by conducting an observation. The subject of this research was an English teacher at Citra Berkat School. The data were taken from the observation result of the ways of the teacher taught in several classes. The sample of the research was chosen purposively.The writer finally finds that there are two kinds of teaching methods which are used in Citra Berkat School, they are Suggestopedia and Communicative Language Teaching. It is shown by several indicators of those teaching method principles which have been applied in that school. Furthermore, eight from nine criteria of effective teaching which are proposed by Jun Li have been applied. Only one of those criteria which has not been applied that is Build Reading Comprehension Ability. It means that the teaching methods used in Citra Berkat School has been effective because 90% of the principles have been completed.It is suggested that the next researcher analyzes the comparison of several teachers who have different characteristics with similar theories. Since the teacher is the role model of the students in the class, the teacher is supposed to improve his/her ability in English
LANGUAGE LEARNING DIFFICULTIES OF A DEAF STUDENT AT SMA LUAR BIASA PUTRA JAYA MALANG
Keywords: Second Language Learning (SLL), Learning Difficulties, Causes of Learning Difficulties, Deaf Student.There are two kinds of language, verbal and non-verbal. Although verbal language is mostly used, there are people who cannot produce it properly. Deaf is one of reasons for this inability. The causes of deaf range from inborn to severe illness. The language used by deaf people is called sign language. In their learning process, deaf students experience several difficulties due to their disability. This research aims to discover the difficulties experienced by the deaf students. In this research, deaf student is chosen as the object. There are two research problems investigated namely;(1) What are the difficulties experienced by a deaf student of SMA Luar Biasa Putra Jaya in learning English? (2) What are the causes of learning difficulties experienced by a deaf student of SMA Luar Biasa Putra Jaya in learning English?The method that is used in this research is observation because it is a case study with qualitative approach. The data sources of this research are Budi’s responses to the teacher during learning English class and the result of interview with the teacher about Budi’s behaviour and also his causes of the difficulties in learning.The result of this research shows that there are nine characteristics in learning difficulty found in Budi. Those difficulties are memory difficulties, organisational difficulties, writing difficulties, visual processing difficulties, reading difficulties, auditory processing difficulties, time management difficulties, sensory difficulties, and sensory overload. Meanwhile, there are ten causes in learning difficulty, those are; classroom environment, socio-economic disadvantage, poor school attendance, health problem, learning through the medium of a second language, loss of confidance, emotional or behavioral problems, below average intellegence, sensory impairment, and specific information processing difficulties. In short, Budi experiences some difficulties that prevent him from learning English optimally. Thus, there should be some treatments aiming to guide Budi towards his success in learning English.The researcher suggests the next researchers, who want to conduct further research on this topic, use other theories or other aspects in learning difficulties not only to deaf student, but maybe to autism students
TINDAK TUTUR ILOKUSI ASERTIF DAN KOMISIF DALAM FILM PRANCIS HORS DE PRIX KARYA PIERRE SALVADORI
Kata Kunci : tindak tutur, ilokusi, asertif, komisif, filmTindak tutur ilokusi adalah tindak tutur yang mengandung maksud, berkaitan dengan siapa bertutur kepada siapa, kapan, dan di mana tindak tutur itu dilakukan. Bentukini merupakan pengetahuan yang sangat diperlukan bagi pembelajar untuk memahami penggunaan bahasa atau tuturan-tuturan yang diungkapkan oleh seorangpenutur. Peneliti mengadakan penelitian tentang tindak tutur ilokusi asertif dan komisif dalam film Prancis berjudul Hors de Prix Karya Pierre Salvadori. Adapun rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) Bagaimana fungsi tindak tutur ilokusi asertif dan komisif yang digunakan pada tuturan-tuturan dalam film PrancisHors de Prix karya Pierre Salvadori dan (2) Bagaimana evaluasi kebenaran dankesahihan tindak tutur ilokusi asertif dan komisif dalam film Hors de Prix berdasarkan persyaratan-persyaratan pragmatik dalam tuturan konstatif dan performatif.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan fungsitindak tutur ilokusi assertif dan komisif dalam film Prancis Hors de Prix. Studideskriptif digunakan karena teknik ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis fungsi tindak tutur ilokusi asertif dan komisif serta mengevaluasi kebenaran dan kesahihannyaberdasarkan tuturan konstatif dan performatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 17 tindak tutur ilokusi asertif dan 3 tindak tutur komisif. Kedua jenis tindak tutur ilokusi tersebut dievaluasi kebenaran dan kesahihannya berdasarkan tuturan konstantif dan performatif. Dengan demikian,hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tindak tutur asertif sekaligus merupakan tuturankonstatif sedangkan tindak tutur komisif sekaligus merupakan tuturan performatif. Peneliti menyarankan kepada peneliti selanjutnya untuk memfokuskan salah satufungsi tindak tutur ilokusi untuk dikaji lebih dalam untuk mengetahui latar belakangdan tujuan penutur melakukan suatu tuturan
