    Improving Review Text Writing Competence via Digital-Based Differentiated Instruction for Junior High School Learners

    This study aims to improve students’ review text writing skills through a digital-based differentiated learning approach. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles at SMP Negeri 4 Manonjaya with 25 students as participants. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Differentiated learning was implemented by adjusting the content based on students’ interests in the review objects (short films and picture story videos), which were then presented in the form of digital posters. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results revealed a significant improvement in the aspects of content, structure, language, and format of review texts. The average score increased from 73 in Cycle I to 89.5 in Cycle II, with learning mastery improving from 52% to 100%. The findings indicate that digital-based differentiated learning is effective in enhancing review text writing skills as well as increasing students’ participation and learning motivation

    Analysis Of Reading Interest Through Picture Storybooks In Grade Iii Students At SDN Pangrango

    Reading ability is a fundamental skill that plays a crucial role in supportingthe teaching and learning process. However, reading interest amongelementary school students—particularly at SDN Pangrango—remainssuboptimal. This study aims to analyze the reading interest of Grade IIIstudents at SDN Pangrango by utilizing picture storybooks as a medium. Thestudy employed a descriptive methodology with a qualitative approach. Theresearch participants consisted of 20 third-grade students. Data werecollected through direct observation and interviews, using instruments suchas questionnaires, interviews, and activity documentation. The analysisprocess included data reduction, information presentation, and drawingconclusions. The research findings indicate that the reading interest of GradeIII students is relatively good. This is evident from several indicators:students' enjoyment when reading picture storybooks, their interest in thestory content and illustrations, enthusiasm in using picture storybooks duringlessons, as well as their ability to comprehend and recall story content.Nevertheless, the habit of reading during free time still requiresimprovement

    Lack of interest in learning students' negotiation texts at SMKN 6 Surabaya due to the limited media taught. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of Canva media in the form of comics to improve the negotiation text writing skills of students of class X Accounting 1 at SMKN 6 Surabaya. Classroom Action Research (PTK) is used in this approach. There are four steps in the PTK cycle, namely 1) planning, 2) implementation, 3) observation, and 4) reflection. The subjects of this study are 36 students of class X Accounting 1. The location of the research was carried out at SMKN 6 Surabaya, which is located on Jl. Margorejo No. 76, Kec. Margorejo, Surabaya.  The data collection techniques in this study consisted of 1) student worksheets (LKPD), 2) questionnaires, 3) interviews, 4) documentation, and 5) observation sheets of the learning process. The data analysis technique uses descriptive statistics. Based on the results of the study, the completion rate is 64%, the average student score in the first cycle is 68. In the second cycle, the average score increased to 78 with a completion rate of 91%. With the help of Canva, students can easily generate ideas and create attractive and well-structured negotiation documents. The conclusion of this study is that the use of Canva media can help students compose negotiation texts and become better writers

    Application of STAD Cooperative Model in Learning to Analyze the Systematics of Essay Texts and Literary Criticism

    This study aims to describe the results of students' work on worksheets and determine students' responses to the STAD type cooperative model in learning to analyze the systematics of essay texts and literary criticism. The subjects in this study were students of class XII MIPA 2 SMAN 4 Kota Cirebon. In this study, the method used was classroom action research method with descriptive analysis technique. The results showed the results of students' analysis in learning to analyze the systematics of essays and literary criticism obtained an average score of 92.88 from a total of 28 students with the highest score of 100 and the lowest score of 70. Meanwhile, students' responses to learning by using the STAD type cooperative model obtained good results. This can be seen from the percentage of each indicator which tends to be high in the “agree” option. Nevertheless, there are still percentages that show students' disagreement with the questions asked. For example, in the indicators of gathering information, collaboration, and finalizing the results of the analysis which has a fairly high percentage compared to other indicators

    The Effectiveness of Using Wordwall in Indonesian Language Learning on Advertisements, Slogans, and Posters at SMPN 4 Kota Cirebon

    This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of using Wordwall inteaching Indonesian language, specifically on the topics ofadvertisements, slogans, and posters at SMPN 4 Kota Cirebon. Theresearch subjects were students of SMPN 4 Kota Cirebon, totaling 52participants, selected through purposive sampling. This qualitativestudy employed a descriptive method. Data were collected usingquestionnaires and observations. The data analysis process consistedof three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusiondrawing. The findings indicate that the use of Wordwall is effectivein enhancing various aspects of the learning process. It increasesstudent engagement and understanding of the material, aligns wellwith learning objectives, boosts motivation, encourages collaborationand healthy competition, improves time efficiency, enhances studentfocus, and creates a more effective and conducive learningenvironment

    Directive Speech Acts in Habiburrahman El-Shirazy's Novel Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra (A Pragmatic Study)

    Directive speech acts in the novel Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, Indonesian Language and Literature Education. Muhadi Setiabudi University Brebes. This study aims to describe the analysis of the types and functions of directive speech acts in the novel Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra by Habiburrahman El Shirazy using a pragmatic approach according to J.L. Searle's speech act theory. The focus of this study is on the grouping of the speech acts of the characters in the novel that are included in the category of directive speech acts, such as advising, ordering, begging, prohibiting, giving suggestions, and requesting. This research method uses qualitative descriptive, with data analysis techniques in the form of identification, classification, and interpretation of data based on the context of the speech. The results of the study showed 62 data on the types and functions of directive speech acts which were divided into six categories, namely: (1) Advising directives 4 data (2) Commanding directives 12 data (3) Requesting directives 8 data (4) Prohibiting directives 9 data (5) Advising directives 10 data (6) Requesting directives 19 data. The most dominant type of directive speech act found was the requesting directive speech act. This shows that the communication in this novel contains many requests from one character to another, which depict interpersonal relationships and personal conflicts. Thus, the results of this study indicate that directive speech acts play an important role in building the storyline and character characteristics in the novel

    Conversational Implicature in Frozen 1:: A Pragmatic Approach

    This study aims to examine the types and meanings of conversational implicatures in the film Frozen 1 using a pragmatic approach. Conversational implicatures refer to implied meanings that are interpreted based on the context of utterances. This study refers to Grice's theory of cooperation principles and conversational maxims. The method used is qualitative descriptive with content analysis techniques. The data, consisting of dialogues between characters, were categorized into conventional and non-conventional implicatures. The results show that implicatures in this film appear through violations of maxims such as quantity, quality, relevance, and manner. The use of implicatures aims to convey hidden messages such as sarcasm, subtle rejection, criticism, and polite expressions. These findings prove that animated films are not only a means of entertainment but also contain valuable linguistic elements. The analysis of implicatures, which includes forms of sarcasm, subtle rejection, criticism, and polite expressions, shows that animated films have a broader role than mere entertainment; they contain important pragmatic values. therefore, this study contributes to the development of pragmatic studies while offering the potential for utilizing animated films as a language learning medium to sharpen the ability to understand implied meanings, with a recommendation that future research examine the application of implicature in various film genres or other media to enrich understanding of linguistic diversity

    The Effect of Using the Audio-Visual Media “The Origins of Kediri” on the Short Story Writing Skills of Grade XI at SMAN 4 Kediri

    Indonesian language learning aims to help students develop language skills through various activities such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The use of media can influence students' writing skills. Audio-visual media, especially those based on regional culture and language, can improve students' understanding of the language they are learning. This study also found that the use of the audio-visual media "Asal-Usul Kediri" significantly improved students' language skills. The research design involved a non-equivalent control group to test the effect of the use of the audio-visual media "Asal-Usul Kediri" on student learning achievement. The instrument used in this study was a test, which is an instrument used to collect test data. The statistical tests used in this study were descriptive statistical tests, homogeneity tests, normality tests, and hypothesis tests with the SPSS 29.0 program. The use of the audio-visual learning media "Asal-Usul Kediri" had a positive impact on students' short story writing skills. Based on the conclusions of this study, it is recommended: (1) The use of the audio-visual learning media "Asal-Usul Kediri" can develop students' regional insights. Therefore, teachers as implementers of learning must prioritize processes that support the creation of an educational learning atmosphere. (2) Teachers still need to conduct continuous research to prove that the use of the audio-visual learning media "Origins of Kediri" is appropriate for all the material and characteristics of students
