    PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PUPUK ORGANIK TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BEBERAPA BENIH ASAL KLON KAKAO (Theobroma cacao L.) DI PEMBIBITAN

    This study aims to determine the growth response of some kind of clone of cocoa ( Theobroma cacao L. ) with an organic fertilizer in a polybag with using randomized block design (RBD ) factorial with 2 factors studied , namely : The first factor is Organic Fertilizer ( O ) divided into 3 levels ie O0 = Without Giving , O1 = Amazing Bio Fertilizer Growth ( ABG ) and O2 = Fertilizer Super Bionic , and the second factor varieties Cocoa ( K ) is divided into three types namely TSH K1 = 858 , K2 = 70 and K3 = RCC PA 300 . While the parameters measured were plant height ( cm ) , number of leaves ( blade ) , stem diameter ( mm ) , leaf area ( cm ) , root fresh weight ( g ) , stem fresh weight ( g ) , root dry weight ( g ) , stem dry weight ( g ) and root volume ( cc ) . The results showed that the use of organic fertilizers provide a significant effect on the parameters of plant height , leaf number , stem diameter , leaf area , stem fresh weight , and root volume and provide no real influence on the parameters of the wet weight of the rod . Treatment varieties only significant effect on plant height parameters , and no real influence on the other parameters .While the interaction of treatment showed a marked influence on the parameters for a high cocoa seedlings and other parameters showed no real difference.Key wordas : organic fertilizer, growth, coco

    ROLE OF VEGETABLE TRADERS WOMEN ON THE HOUSEHOLD INCOME

    The aim of this study was to determine the effect of socio-economic factors (age, capital, experience, number of dependents and level of education) against income women vegetable vendors and to find out how much revenue the woman vegetable vendor to total household income. The study's hypotheses were tested using multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS. Results showed that simultaneously (synchronously) no influence of age, capital, experience, number of dependents and level of education on income women vegetable vendors. Partially capital and experience affect the earnings of women vegetable vendors, while age, number of dependents and level of education no effect. Income women vegetable vendors contribute fairly high on household income that is equal to 58.47 percent.Keywords: Women Vegetable Vendors, Household Incom

    PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF POLYOL NATURAL RUBBER LATEX BASED POLYURETHANE FOAM

    The aim of this study was to preparate and characterize polyurethane foam by using a polyol natural rubber latex. Polyurethane synthesized from polypropylene glycol (PPG), Toluene Diisocyanates (TDI) and polyols Natural Rubber Latex. Polyurethane foam that is formed then characterized by mechanical properties and morphology using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Mechanical properties and morphology of the polyurethane foam is the optimum addition of 50% polyol natural rubber latex in the manufacture of polyurethane foam.Keywords: toluene diisocyanates, polypropylene glycol, polyols, natural rubber late

    GRAFTING MALEAT ANHIDRAT PADA KARET ALAM SIKLIS (CYCLIC NATURAL RUBBER/CNR) DENGAN INISIATOR DICUMYL PEROKSIDA

    AbstractThe research on the degree of grafting of maleic anhydride (MA) on Cyclic Natural Rubber/CNR with the initiator Dicumyl Peroxide (DCP) has done. Grafting process carried out by reflux in a flask technique coupled with the base of the condenser and oil bath at a temperature of (105-110)C, variations in the concentration of MA (3, 6, 9, 12, 15) phr, DCP variation inisiator concentration (0.05; 0.1; 0.15) molar ratio and variation in time (15, 30, 60, 90) minutes. Determination of the degree of grafting is then performed by the method of titration and FTIR spectra analysis to determine the grafting of MA on CNR chain. The results showed that the MA-g-CNR occurs at 15 phr comparison with the degree of grafting of 0.12% for the variation of the concentration of MA; 0.15 molar ratio to the degree of grafting of 0.07% for the variation in concentration of DCP inisiatior; 90 minutes with a degree grafting of 0.14% for the time variation.Keywords: grafting, cyclic natural rubber, maleic anhydride, dicumyl peroxid

    AbstractThis study was aimed to determine the level of understanding and caring campus community towards environmentally sustainable campus in the University Muhamadiyah North Sumatra. Some 408 respondents were interviewed using a questionnaire. The data is obtained has been analyzed using descriptive analysis, perception analysis, factor analysis and test data quality. The results showed that majority of respondents familiar with what is Environmentally sound campus or Eco-Campus. The descriptive analysis shows that the majority of respondents were aged 17-21 years, male, college students and recent high school education. In the analysis of the perception there are 403 respondents who know about environmentally sustainable campus while the rest do not. For the factor analysis KMO test value obtained for 0.891 (great for the meticulous sampling), commonality 0.464 to 0.715, total variance is 59.765, and the eigenvalue criterion of 59 percent. In the quality test data on the reliability of the test can be of value for Cronbach's Alpha 0.875 is greater than the basic standard Cronbach's Alpha 0.870 which can be deduced That the grains realibel questions. Based on the results of this study, environmentally sustainable campus can be a shared desire campus community at UMSU to get a cool atmosphere, beautiful and comfortable.Keywords: Perception, Campus environmentally sound, Eco-Campu

    AbstractResponse of growth and production in peanuts (Arachis hypogae) on seed spacing and origin of the pods have been investigated. The study was designed according to the Random Design (RAK) factorial with two factors studied. Jark cropping factor as the first treatment factors. Spacing factor (J) consists of two levels, namely J1 = 30cm x 20cm, 30cm x 30cm = J2, J3 = 20cm x 20cm. While the origin of seed treatment factors on pod (P) consists of three levels, namely P1 (1per plor seed pods), P2 (second seed pods per plot), P3 (third seed pods per plot). The entire unit test in repeated sebamyak 3 times. Parameter observations used in this study include plant height, number of primary branches, number of empty pods per plant, production per plot, weight of wet pods per plant, dry weight of pods per plant and number of seeds per pod. Based on the observations and the origin of seed spacing on pod gives a significantly different effect parameters plant height, number of primary branches, number of empty pods per plant, production per plot, the wet weight of pods per plant, and dry weight of pods per plant.     AbstractThis study aims to find ways of making nata with a comparison of sugar and a long fermentation on the quality of nata de banana skin. This study uses a complete Randomized Design (CRD) factorial. The results of statistical analysis on each parameter: The amount of sugar and a long fermentation differ very real effect on yield. The number of long fermentation guladan different effect not significant (p 0.05) on pH. Number of different sugars affect highly significant (p 0.01) to the TSS. The amount of sugar and a long fermentation different effect highly significant (p 0.01) of thickness. Treatment interaction effect is not significant (p 0.05) of thickness. The amount of sugar and a long fermentation influence erbeda highly significant (p 0.01) against violence. Treatment interaction effect is not significant (p 0.05) to violence. The amount of sugar and a long fermentation influence not differ significantly (p 0.05) for color.     THE ROLE OF RICE BRAN LIPASE ENZYME AS A CATALYST IN THE FORMATION OF MONOGLYCERIDES BY GLYCEROLYSIS OF PALM KERNEL OIL AND RBD STEARIN

    The research to determine the role of lipase of rice bran as a catalyst in the reaction gliserolisis palm kernel oil and RBD Stearin has been carried out. Process glysrolysis was done by mixed glycerol: palm kernel oil: RBD Stearin with a mole ratio 1: 1: 4, 2: 2: 4, 3: 3: 4 and 4: 4: 4. Further results of gliserolisis by determination of monoglyseride content and the highest yield monoglycerides characterized by FT-IR. The results showed that the enzyme lipase from rice bran can be used as catalysts in the reaction mixture monoglycerides glyserolysis forming compound at a ratio of 2: 2: 4, namely 8.9% and FT-IR analysis shows the presence of OH groups in the wavelength range of 3500 cm?1.Keywords: rice bran, lipase, catalyst, monoglyseride, palm oi

    This research to know the influence of various a dose of irradiasi gamma rays against viabilitas and vigoritas seeds and to knows the difference the growth of seedlings of the paddy resulting from irradiasi gamma rays in the seddbed. The research done on October to December 2011 in Kebun Percobaan the faculty of agriculture UMSU in Jln. Tuar Kelurahan Medan Amplas, Kecamatan Denai, Kotamadya Medan. The research using random complete non factorials consist of three different levels of dose irradiasi (D) ie: D0= 0 Gy (kontrol), D1= 100 Gy, D2 = 200 Gy, D3= 300 Gy, D4= 400 Gy, D5= 500 Gy. Irradiasi gamma rays on seeds cause a decrease in viabilitas and vigoritas paddy seeds. A dose irradiasi gamma rays 500 Gy cause the lowest of viabilitas and vigoritas seed of all treatment.Keyword: Irradiation gamma rays, doses, viability, vigority, seed
