The research aims to obtain the validity of Problem Based Learning teaching instruments (including lesson plan, textbooks, student worksheets and test for critical thinking skills) through a scientific approach. This type of quantitative research, Quantitative data obtained from the average results of the recapitulation of the validation of experts and colleagues then as an evaluation given through descriptive advice, with the method of collecting observational data, questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis techniques use content and construct validity specified by several experts in the appropriate fields. Construct validation by 2 expert validators and 3 peer validators. The results of the average validation of the learning device recapitulation were obtained RPS (4.00), RPP (4.10), textbooks (4.03), Student Worksheets (4.01) and Tests for students' critical thinking skills (4.00) in the scale range 5 with the title of good to be used as a research instrument. Each of the results of the validation construct of the learning device is given suggestions to be improved before it is used in learning

There are three steps of cognitive processes, that is: 1) acquire new information, 2) transform information; and 3) test the relevance and accuracy of knowledge or evaluation. This study aims to describe the students the cognitive process of junior high school to solve mathematical problems based on Bruner's three modes of representation. The research is qualitative descriptive. The subjects were three students of junior high school; each of them is with high, medium, and low abilities. The results showed that the cognitive processes of high and medium abilities were able to acquire information and transform it to solve the problems in the enactive, iconic, and symbolic representation. For the testing relevance and accuracy, high-ability subject only works in the enactive representation. Middle-ability does in the enactive and symbolic representation. The low-ability subject was able to do all three cognitive processes on questions the enactive representation, but other questions in the iconic and symbolic representation cannot be solved

Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Siswa SMP dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Open-Ended

This study aims to determine students’ creative thinking skills to solve arithmetic progression and series with the open-ended method. The study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The subjects in this study were three students of junior high school have high mathematical abilities. Data were collected by tests, interviews, field notes, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the triangulation method to gain a deeper understanding of the subject under study. The results of this study show that the student's ability to creative thinking because it meets three indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency, flexibility, and novelty. For the research conducted to get good results, the subject should find answers that can be categorized in creative thinking indicators in the form of novelty

Analisis Kesalahan Matematis Mahasiswa Teknik Sipil pada Mata Kuliah Kalkulus II

This research’s purpose is to describe the mathematical errors of civil engineer college students in subject Calculus II. The research’s method uses a qualitative approach that are reducing data, serving data, and conclude. Based on the research, it found that the major error to solve the problems of Calculus II is manipulating algebra form. The error of calculating is the second one after the error of manipulating algebra form. The researcher also finds that even the college students choose the right formula to solve the problems, they make an error in implementing the formula that they were chosen

Kemampuan Metakognitif dan Komunikasi Matematis dalam Pemecahan Masalah Matematika

This descriptive qualitative study aims to describe the metacognitive and communicative abilities of the third-semester students of Mathematics Education of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Forty students were given a test consists of 2 essay problems of number theory. Three of the answer sheets that each one representing students with high, medium, and low scores were analyzed. Findings show that the students' ability in both aspect are unsatisfactory regardless of their different scores. They are don't show their understanding of the concepts and principles of number theories, some of them still use mathematical terms and notes, and the majority still have the wrong calculation because they not use the complete and correct algorithm. The students' ability in mathematical communication is poor because they can't write the correct mathematical symbols and can't put the mathematical ideas in an acceptable, logical order. They have written the answers that seem to the right answers, but the arrangement of the answers is irrational and jumping, resulting in the answers in low comprehensibility

Defragmentation of student’s thinking structures through scheme appearance to fix pseudo thinking student’s in solving problems HOTS test type for mathematics in the National Exam 2018. Pseudo Thinking happened because students did not reflect before answering, so students give the wrong answer. Pseudo thinking divided into false-pseudo thinking and true-pseudo-thinking. Hence, in this research to describe student’s structural thinking errors and the process of defragmentation of student’s thinking structures through scheme appearance to fix student’s pseudo thinking in solving problems of HOTS test type for mathematics in the National Exam 2018. This research is qualitative research with descriptive type. Researchers used three subjects to describe the defragmentation process of scheme appearance. The result of this research, all subjects experienced false-pseudo thinking and true-pseudo thinking. From the research, subjects can reveals that the process of scheme appearance that has been previously. So subjects can solve problems

Pengembangan Alper Silabu pada Materi Bilangan Bulat Kelas IV

This study imns to teach the concept of integer addition and subtract operations in elementary schools by using ALPER SILABU. Using the ADDIE model consists of five phase (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) to develop ALPER SILABU. ALPER SILABU has gone through tests of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The results of ALPER SILABU validity obtained 97.6%, which means the media is valid. In practicality, the results of the study obtained 93.3% toal score which means the media is practical. The results of the field trials obtained an N-Gain score of 0.81 which is in the high category. The N-Gain results show that effective ALPER SILABU increases the understanding of students' concepts of integer addition and subtraction operations. Thus, the results of ALPER SILABU for teaching the concepts of addition operations and reduction in mathematical integers are valid, practical, and effective

Analisis Berpikir Pseudo Siswa IQ Normal dalam Pemecahan Masalah Matematika

This study aims to describe the occurrence of pseudo thinking of high school students who have a normal IQ in solving the mathematical problems in the material Position and Distance from Point, Line, and Field. This research is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected by through giving tests and verification with interviews. The subject is taken using the snowball technique. The research subjects were students who had a normal IQ (80-119). Where subject who have a normal IQ in this research are two students. The data analysis techniques used is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Based on the results of the analysis it was found that high school students with normal IQ have a low understanding of the concepts in Geometry (Position and Distance from Points, Line, and Fields)

Desain Pembelajaran Garis dan Sudut Menggunakan Jam Dinding Lingkaran untuk Siswa SMP Kelas VII

The purpose of this research is to understanding the role of line and angle learning design in students’ comprehension of mathematical concept and also to understanding the students’ learning result through LAS (Lembar Aktivitas Mahasiswa) or student activity paper that is based on the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education approach. The research method used in this research is design research. The result of this research shows that the activity of using props or drawing a clock circle could motivate the students in checking out the shaped angle, So the students will have the idea to calculate how big is the angle that is shaped by the clockwise and also to determine its types. So, the design that is used could help the students to understanding the concept of angle through the context of clock circle

This is a case study to describe students' mathematical problem-solving abilities based on the level of independent learning on the probability chapter. The research subjects were ten students of MAN 1 Indragiri Hilir consist of two students for each level, which were very low, low, medium, high, and very high. Data collection uses problem-solving tests, questionnaires, and unstructured interviews. The results of Polya's problem-solving on the probability chapter are the high category for very high independence learner, the medium category for high and medium independence learner, and the low category for low and very low independence learner. The step of Polya's problem-solving which is not done optimally by each student of independent learning is verification (look back) the process and answer the question
