This study focuses on the functional thinking activities of students in solving the task of generalization of patterns in terms of cognitive style. The research subjects consisted of 2 junior high school students in grade VIII consisting of one student with a field-dependent cognitive style and one student with a field-independent cognitive style determined by using the GEFT instrument. An interview based on a pattern generalization test was used to collect data on students' functional thinking. The results showed that at the stage of identifying patterns, both subjects used symbol representation in identifying patterns. At the stage of determining the relationship between two quantities, Field Independent uses trial and error rules to determine the relationship between two quantities, while Field Dependent lists all terms to determine the relationship between two quantities. At the stage of determining the general rule, Field Independent identifies the regularity of the pattern from the results of the relationship between two quantities, while Field Dependent determines the general rule by identifying the difference between two adjacent terms and then summing with the term in question

Problem posing in this research asks students to make questions. One of the internal factors that affect the ability of students in posing problems was student cognitive style. The purpose of this study, describe the student's mathematical problem posing in terms of the visualizer and verbalizer cognitive styles. This type of research was qualitative research. Research instruments were the VVQ (Visualizer and Verbalizer Questionnaire) test, problem-posing test, and interview guidelines. The results of this study were that the visualizer subject posed more problems from visual information than verbal information, all the problems made were categorized as assignment propositions, and only contained one semantic relation. Meanwhile, the verbalizer subject makes the number of questions the same between verbal and visual information, the problems made were categorized as assignment propositions and categorized as conditional propositions, and all problems contain only one semantic relation

This study aims to describe the use of Graspable Math learning media in the material of the Two-Variable Linear Equation System (SPLDV) to train mathematical understanding skills. This study was conducted on 8th-grade students with as many as six people as subjects using a qualitative methodology. The instruments used were math comprehension test sheets and interview guidelines. The results of this study show that the Graspable Math application can be used as a practical medium for students' mathematics learning. This implies that the use of the Graspable Math application on SPLDV material at the junior high school level can help students' understanding of mathematics, especially in algebraic material which includes operations and substitution between tribe

Pengembangan Lembar Kerja Siswa Model ELPSA pada Materi Matriks

This study aims to produce a valid, practical, and effective ELPSA (Experiences, Language, Picture, Symbol, Applications) learning tool of matrix content. Research method using ADDIE model. The media tested at one of the vocational high schools in Merauke Regency. Validation sheets measure the validity of student worksheets and lesson plans assessed by the three validators. The practicality of the worksheet is measured by student responses questionnaires and learning implementation observation sheets. The effectiveness was measured by pretest and post-test. The result of this study showed that the validity of the lesson plan was 54% and 28%, the validity of the students’ worksheets was 63% and 27%. The validity of the pretest was 59%, and post-test sheets were 23%. The practicality value obtained from the student response questionnaire was 75%. Teacher and student activities in the learning process meet the excellent category. On the effectiveness test, all students did not satisfy the minimum class criteria at the pretest with an average score of 23.70. In the post-test results, all students passed with an average score of 84.20. After learning by the ELPSA model, student mathematics achievement increased by 100%. It can be concluded that the ELPSA model learning tool has met the valid, practical, and effective criteria to suit classroom learning

Fun with SPLDV: Multimedia Lectora Inspire Menguatkan Pemahaman Konsep Matematika Siswa

This study aims to describe the process of developing interactive multimedia learning mathematics Lectora Inspire that satisfies criteria: valid, practical, and effective to reinforce the conceptual understanding of 8th graders of junior high school, especially on Linear Equation System in Two Variables (LESTV) topic. This research uses the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model. The result of media and content expert validation showed an average score of 84% and 83.5%, respectively, such that it met the valid criteria and without revision. The result of the student questionnaire said that the media was good with scores of 79% and the average point of the test was 86.5 of 100. It showed that the student concept understanding was complete after using the media. The media need to be improved before it was used broader

Profil Komunikasi Matematika Tulis Siswa SMP dalam Memecahkan Masalah Matematika Ditinjau dari Kepribadian Extrovert dan Introvert

Communication is important in mathematics learning. This study aims to describe the written mathematics communication profile of junior high school students in solving mathematics problems reviewed from extrovert-introvert personality. The subjects of this study consist of one introvert student and one extrovert student, while the instruments used were the Myers Briggs Type Indicators personality questionnaire, math ability tests, and written mathematics communication tests. The results of this study revealed that introvert student fulfilled the accuracy and completeness aspect at the stage of understanding the problems, devising a plan, and carrying out the plan. Meanwhile, the extrovert students fulfill the accuracy aspect only at the stage of understanding the problem. Besides that, extrovert students fulfill the completeness aspect at the stage of carrying out the plan and looking back. Introvert and extrovert students do not fulfill the fluency aspect. So that introvert students' written mathematics communication is better than extrovert students

During the COVID-19 pandemic, online learning (online) has been continuing. The lack of online learning is a home visit service emerged to monitor students' learning. Apart from teachers, parental participation is very important in determining children's learning achievement. This study aims to describe the relationship between home visits services and parental participation in mathematics learning outcomes for grade 2 elementary school. The method in this study is quantitative research. This study involved 32 third-grade students at Al-Aqsa Islamic elementary school in Sidoarjo as research subjects. The research instrument consisted of a questionnaire of home visits and parental participation in learning mathematics. Data collection using a home visit questionnaire and parental participation and documentation of mathematics learning outcomes. The analysis data with a correlational approach using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate the home visit service, parents, and mathematics learning outcomes are included in the very goods category. This means that home visit services can improve children's mathematics learning outcomes
