    This research aims at discovering empirical description of the implementation of group counselling with peer group technique in improving the smoking behavior of female juveniles in Panti Sosial Bina Remaja (PSBR) Bambu Apus, Jakarta Timur. The research conducted as from September through December 2012 was a simple experiment with one group pretest-post test design. The research subjects are seven juveniles supervised by PSBR Bambu Apus, Batch 72. The result of the group counselling was achieved by pre-test and post-test showing the improvement of 19.52 or 33.23 %. The research concluded the implementation of group counselling with peer group technique proves the improvement of smoking behavior of juveniles in PSBR Bambu Apus, Jakarta

    PENGEMBANGAN BAKAT SENI ANAK PADA TAMAN KANAK-KANAK

    This study aimed at finding out how learning develop the kindergarten children’s artistic talent and the factors related to the development of the artistic talents. This research was conducted in Ratna Kumara Kindergarten at the Medahan village, Blahbatuh, Gianyar, Bali involving 40 children. As a qualitative case study, this research collected data by observation, interviews, and document analysis. Data analysis used Spradley techniques. The results found out: (a) the artistic talent is developed through a child’s individual stimulation such as yoga, meditation, traditional games, singing, playing music and storytelling and in addition it can be done using social stimulation such as creative movement, role play, cooperative works; and (b) some factors supporting the success of children to develop their artistic talent that teachers should know such as the knowledge and understanding of children’s education, ability to create joyful learning, to show a close relationship and a good working team of fellow teachers, establish good communication and cooperation with parents, and the support of adequate learning facilities and comfortable healthy environment

    The objective of this research is to investigate whether the implementation of Bingo game can increase students’ mastery of English vocabulary at the 2nd grade students of Primary School of PGSD Laboratorium in Setiabudi South Jakarta. Using the model of Kemmis and McTaggart, this classroom action research was conducted in two cycles. The subject of this research were 20 students of the 2nd grade and the data were collected using test instrument to measure students’ level of vocabulary mastery. The observation sheet was also used to record the activities of the teacher and the students when they were playing bingo game. The result of this research shows a significant increase in vocabulary mastery score after the application of Bingo game

    This study aimed at obtaining an overview of demographic data (education and employment) of the parents of kindergarten children, the parental involvement in the kindergarten activities and in educating their children at home. As an exploratory research with descriptive analysis, the study was conducted in the school year of 2013/2014 in Pamulang and Serpong, Sub District of South Tangerang, Banten, where 238 parents were participaed as the subjects of the research. The finding of the research showed, in terms of education and employment many parents are potential enough to take part in child care. The involvement of both parents both in the kindergarten and at home is pretty good, but needs to be improved, especially in educating their children at home everyday to be independent. The parents are also needed to persuade to be volunteers in the kindergarten. Therefore, further research is recommended to identify appropriate strategies to make the parents more involved in their children’s education

    This ex post facto research, conducted at SDN Gedong 06 Pagi, Gedong village, East Jakarta in August 2013, aimed to obtain empirical data of the influence of the intensity of playing on-line games towards the aggressiveness of grade II SD. Samples were taken using the technique of cluster random sampling and simple random sampling. The data were collected using question form and analyzed employing one way analysis of Variance (ANAVA) and t-test. The results of the testing of hypotheses using ANAVA indicate different aggression of the children in the three groups of intensity playing on-line game. T- test indicates all H0 rejected but Ha accepted. The implication of this research result is the intensity performed by the children in playing on-line games could contribute to their aggression against the environment. The role and efforts of teachers and parents in providing the children with educational games, can develop pro-social behavior and positive character of the children

    The establishment of Community Academy (CA) as a vocational education diploma one and/or two stipulated in Law No. 12/2012 fit 59 is an effort to increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) for higher education (HE), to develop human resource quality, and to provide an opportunity for the region to have a public university. In addition, the establishment of CA is expected to support the implementation and expansion of regional economic growth, as set out in the MP3EI concept initiated by the government. However, the results obtained by the study, the establishment of CA is still reaping a number of problems related to determining the course, the accuracy of the location of the appointment and organization of the study program, and the pattern of development and the ongoing working relationship. Having critically analyzed the problems, this article recommends to (a) conduct an in-depth and thorough assessment to determine the program of study in CA; (b) negotiate the establishment of CA with ‘assignment’ type and provide the opportunities for private sector CA to participate; (c) substitute the courses conducted by CA in certain regions ; (d) change the distribution budgent patterns: and (e) set a special teamwork responsible directly to the Minister of Education and Culture

    KEMUNCULAN TAHAP MENULIS ALFABET PADA GAMBAR EKSPRESIF ANAK USIA 5-6 TAHUN

    This purpose of this study was to reveal the emergence of alphabetic writing stage of the expressive drawings of the children aged 5-6 years in Early Childhood Education Services Post in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. The study, conducted October 2013, employed quantitative method using survei techniques. The participant of this research involved 75 children ranged from the ages of 5 years 0 month to 6 years. Data were collected by using structured interview guides and analyzed with percentage technique. The findings show that the emergence of alphabetic writing stage when the children are able to write letters and their own names appears at the age of 5 years 0 month. The emergence of writing integrated letters to form a word, phoneme writing, and word writing appears at the age of 5 years 1 month. The emergence writing short sentence appears as from the ages of 5 years 7 months to 6 years, while the emergence of writing story writing appears as from the ages of 5 years 10 months to 6 years. The findings have implication to the parents and teachers in identifying the development of the children’s writing ability

    This research measured the understanding of learning based on the theory of mind in the groups of pre-school aged and school aged children in two studies. Study 1 measured the spontaneous expression of 8 children from the two groups using the categories of resource, process, and learning content and intention, desire, and attention through secondary data in the language analysis CHILDES. The research conducted in March 2011 through May 2012 discovered at “tempat kursus membaca & menulis GAFA Tebet and SDN Gunung 05 (Mexico) South of Jakarta, the spontaneous expression about intention decreased. The expression of attention did not change. The second study measured the responds of 130 children to the story containing intention, desire, and attention. The result was a significant difference in the understanding of learning process based on the theory of mind in both groups. The pre-school aged children understood learning process and intention, while the school aged children understood learning process based on desire

    Children aged 5 – 14 years Fitness level profile in Jakarta Timur, this research aims to determine the extent to which fitness level children age range 5 till 14 years old in Jakarta Timur. This research using a test and non test techniques with the survey method. A collection for the sample using a proportionate stratified random sampling techniques. As many as 121 children as sample. Tested using a MFT (Multistage Fitness Test) The multi-stage fitness test, also known as the bleep test, beep test, pacer test, Leger-test or 20-m shuttle run test, is a series of stages that have different tasks sometimes used by sports coaches and trainers to estimate an athlete’s VO2 max(maximum oxygen uptake). The pacer test is “progressive aerobic cardiovascular endurance testâ€. The test is especially useful for players of sports such as rugby, football, Australian rules football, Gaelic football, hurling, hockey, netball, handball,tennis, squash, and fitness testing in schools and colleges plus many other sports; employed by many international sporting teams as an accurate test of cardiovascular fitness, one of the more important components of Fitness. The existing data then processed and analyzed with a statistic deskriptif techniques. From measurements made it can be concluded that in general a children fitness level has a high point category, the district who has a high fitness level points in sub-district Makasar with ratio 31.98 points, and a lowest fitness level points located in sub-district Duren Sawit with 22.42 level points ratio. The survey result revealed is physical fitness related to a good activity perform and it will to conduce a better fitness level. Level of fitness predispose a learning achievement and all of activities who nature playing and requires a lot of energy because a children growth aged 5 – 14 years is phase of motor development and when directed with a better programe it will be a good potension in future
