The Dynamic of Pekarangan Selahuni 2 Homlet, Ciomas Rahayu Village, Bogor
Urbanisasi dan fragmentasi adalah faktor utama penyebab dinamika pada pekarangan. Dinamika yang terjadi terkait dengan struktur dan fungsi pada pekarangan. Hal tersebut membuat performa pekarangan berubah menurut interfensi pemilik pekarangan. Pekarangan Kampung Selahuni 2, Desa Ciomas Rahayu, Bogor menjadi lokasi pengamatan dinamika pekarangan dua dekade terakhir. Sampel Pekarangan yang diambil pada tahun 2019 adalah sama persis dengan yang diambil pada tahun 1998 dan 2007, sebanyak 10 rumah.Tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana perubahan yang terjadi pada pekarangan, baik struktur maupun fungsinya. Dilakukan pengukuran terhadap luasan, kepemilikan pekarangan, pencatatan spesies dan fungsi vegetasi pekarangan yang ada. Pada tahun 2019, data kepemilikan rumah dan pekarangan oleh pemilik lama menurun drastis hingga 40% saja. Di tahun 2019, luas rata-rata pekarangan mengalami penurunan dengan luas rata-rata 110,81 m2. Pada tahun 1998, 2007, dan 2019, persentase jumlah spesies tanaman non hias jauh lebih tinggi 4-10% dari pada tanaman hias. Oleh karena itu, terjadi perubahan baik luasan dan kepemilikan, fungsi dan struktur vegetasi yang ada pada pekarangan kampung Selahuni 2 yang disebabkan oleh faktor urbanisasi dan fragmentasi.Urbanization and fragmentation are the main factors causing dynamics in the pekarangan. The dynamics that occur are related to the structure and function of the pekarangan. This makes the pekarangan performance changes according to the interference of the pekarangan owner. Selahuni 2 Homlet, Ciomas Rahayu Village, Bogor has become the location for observing the dynamics of the past two decades. Pekarangan samples taken in 2019 are exactly the same as those taken in 1998 and 2007, totaling 10 houses. The aim is to determine the extent of changes that occur in the pekarangan, both structure and function. Measuring the area, ownership of the pekarangan, recording of species and function of the existing vegetation of the pekarangan. In 2019, data on ownership of houses and pekarangans by old owners dropped dramatically by only 40%. In 2019, the average pekarangan area will decrease by an average area of 110.81 m2. In 1998, 2007 and 2019, the percentage of the number of non-ornamental plant species was 4-10% higher than that of ornamental plants. Therefore, there was a change in both the extent and ownership, function and structure of the vegetation in the Selahuni 2 Homlet’s pekarangan which was caused by urbanization and fragmentation factors
ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY AND POVERTY ASSESSMENT IN INDONESIA
Poverty is both a cause and a victim of deteriorating environmental quality. The poor are regarded as very dependent on the environment and natural resources in sustaining their lives so that the environment and natural resources are exploited regardless of their sustainability. On the other hand, environmental degradation causes the poor to get out of poverty. This study aims to (1) analyze the general picture of environmental quality and poverty, (2) analyze the effect of poverty on the environment, (3) analyze the effect of environmental quality on poverty along with other supporting factors in Indonesia 2012-2014. The analytical method used is simultaneous equation with EC2SLS method. The results show that poverty can affect environmental degradation but not vice versa. Exogenous variables that significantly affect the quality of the environment are the growth of the number of poor, economic growth, population density, and literacy rate. Exogenous variables that have significant effect on poverty are economic growth, wage, population density, and literacy rate
Environment Biophysical of Mangrove Forest in Langsa City, Aceh
Mangrove ecosystem is an area that serves as a interface between the land and sea, but at the moment has a lot of damage. The phenomenon of damage to the mangrove forest ecosystem also occurred in Langsa City. This study aims to analyse biophysical conditions of mangrove forest ecosystems in Langsa City. The method used in this study is to combine qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches. Results of the study show that the area of mangrove forest in the study has increased as large as 324.29 ha in the period of 6 years (2007-2013). The mangrove flora in Langsa City consist of a group of true mangrove flora and mangrove associates, consisting of 14 families and 25 species. The criticality of mangrove forests in the research location is classified as damaged (1,955.96 ha) and severely damaged (2,556.82 ha)
Wastewater Load, Assimilative Capacity and Pollution State West Banjir Kanal Estuary, Semarang City, Central Java
West Banjir Kanal river is part of Garang Catchment Area which used as souce for drinking water communities of West Semarang District, Central Java. The high intensities used of area around Garang Catchment Area for agriculture, settlement and industry caused water polluted. This research conducted to evaluate wastewater pollution load, assimilative capacity and pollution state of west Banjir Kanal estuary. The research done by survey method with collected of water samples from 3 sampling point with 3 replication respectively. The result showed that pollution loading are 8,450E-6 - 3,236E-7 ton/year TSS, 5,622E-4 – 6,728E-6 ton/year nitrate and 0 – 3,049E-6 ton/year phosphat, which are exceeded assimilative capacity of estuary for TSS, nitrate and phosphate, that are caused water pollution. Water Quality Index is 51,94 and showed that West Banjir Kanal Estuary is very high polluted with TSS, nitrate and phosphate
Vegetation structure and floristic composition (Case study: Mala Galeh Protected area, Fars Province, Iran)
Identifying flora of each region is fundamental for accomplishing other pure and applied researches in biology. Especially, in the ecological conditions of protected area of Male Gale. Data were collected in 96 sampling plots using systematic_ random method. The size of sampling plot was 20 m × 50 m for the tree and shrub species, and 8 m × 8 m for herbaceous species. In this study area, 162 species, 122 genera and 43 families were identified. The largest families were Asteraceae (26 species) and Fabaceae (25 species). The frequency of Asteraceae may be due to grazing in some areas of the region. The life form spectrum includes: Hemichryptophytes (14/01 %), Therophytes (65/4 %), Cryptophytes (76/9 %), Chamaephytes (7.1 %) and Phanerophytes (5.8 %). The abundance of Therophytes and Asteraceae family is refered to destruction of forests in the study area. The highest value of the SIV tree and shrub species layer belong to Quercus brantii species and ZIziphus Mummularia. The highest value of the FIV herbaceous layer belong to Asteraceae family. The Species Important Value (SIV) of vegetation cover indicated that tree, shrubs species and herbaceous species had geometric distribution, broken stick model and lognormal distribution in this area
Spatial Model Of The Deforestation Potential 2020 & 2024 And The Prevention Approach, Kutai Barat District
Kutai Barat have high forest cover and high deforestation rates. The study purpose to make spatial model, potential distribution of deforestation 2020 and 2024, analysis of the drivers of deforestation, compile and map the approach to reducing deforestation. Deforestation modeling done using MaxEnt and Zonation software. Deforestation sample data used from land cover maps 2009, 2013 and 2016. Deforestation rates used to estimate potential deforestation 2020 and 2024. The drivers of deforestation analyze from land cover change matrix. Prevention strategy approach by overlaying potential deforestation modeling results with RTRW maps. The model has good performance with AUC value 0.873. The validation show very good accuracy for the prediction of area to be deforested by 94%, the accuracy of the spatial distribution of the model 31%. Environmental variables have the highest contribution to the model is the distance from previous deforestation 37.4%. The potential of deforestation 2020 is 85,908 ha and 171,778 ha 2024. Oil palm, agriculture, rubber, HTI and mining are the driver of deforestation. Social forestry is expected to prevent potential deforestation 120,861 ha. Others expected programs to contribute to the deforestation reduction are community land intensification 30,316 ha and implementation of the HCV in plantation 20,120 ha
On Status Assessment and Management Strategy Formulation for Sustainable Aquaculture of the Hoven’s Carp (Leptobarbus hoevenii, Bleeker, 1851) in Jambi Municipality
Ikan jelawat merupakan salah satu ikan air tawar yang termasuk indigenous species yang potensial untuk dikembangkan budidayanya dalam skala yang lebih besar. Biaya pakan dalam budidaya dapat dihemat karena ikan ini merupakan jenis ikan omnivora cenderung herbivora. Ada beberapa dimensi keberlanjutan yang penting dalam pengelolaan perikanan budidaya berkelanjutan di antaranya ekologi, ekonomi, sosial, dan teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menilai status keberlanjutan pengelolaan dan menentukan faktor penentu dalam menyusun strategi keberlanjutan perikanan budidaya ikan jelawat di Kota Jambi menggunakan aplikasi Rapfish. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan perikanan budidaya ikan jelawat di Kota Jambi dikategorikan kurang berkelanjutan (nilai indeks 46.60%, nilai stress 12.93% dan nilai R2 95.72%. Berdasarkan analisis leverage ada 14 atribut sensitif yang dapat mengungkit keberlanjutan perikanan budidaya ikan jelawat yaitu ketersediaan lahan perikanan, daya dukung lahan, segmentasi usaha budidaya, tingkat subsidi terhadap usaha budidaya, akses pemasaran, efisiensi pada rantai pemasaran, fluktuasi harga, ketersediaan modal usaha budidaya, pengetahuan tentang budidaya ikan jelawat, pengalaman budidaya ikan, tingkat kemandirian pembudidaya, ketersediaan induk dan benih, ketersediaan wadah pendukung budidaya, kemandirian pakan. Hoven’s carp is an indigenous species of freshwater fish which is hihgly potential to be cultured in larger scale. It is omnivorous tend to be herbivorous fish so that it can save cost of feed. Sustainable management is needed in order to optimize the benefits that can be obtained from hoven’s carp aquaculture activities. It needs to pay attention to four dimensions of sustainable development (ecological, economic, socio-cultural and technological) to avoid problems of aquaculture. The purpose of this study was to assess the status and management strategy formulation for sustainable aquaculture of hoven’s carp in Jambi municipality using the Rapfish application. The results of the sustainability analysis of hoven’s carp aquaculture in Jambi municipality showed less sustainable with an index value of 46.60%, a stress value of 12.93% and a R2 value of 95.72%. Based on the leverage analysis, there are 14 sensitive attributes that are used to improve the sustainability of hoven’s carp aquaculture including availability of aquaculture land, land carrying capacity, marketing access, efficiency in the marketing chain, price fluctuations, availability of venture capital, knowledge of hoven’s carp fish aquaculture, fish farming experience, level of independence of farmers, availability of broodstock and seed, availability of supporting containers for aquaculture, feed independence
The study of mangrove density and shoreline changes from 1989 to 2018 in Jambi Province Coastal Zone
The density of mangrove cover is one of the factors that influence changes in shoreline both accretion and abrasion. This study aims to determine the effect of changes in density of mangrove cover on shoreline changes in 1989-2018 in the Coastal Province of Jambi. The method used is the interpretation of Landsat satellite images in 1989, 2000 and 2018 using NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and overlaying images to see shoreline changes and DSAS (Digital Shoreline Analysis System) to calculate the area of change. The results showed that there had been a change in shoreline both accretion and abrasion in several locations that had different mangrove densities in the period 1989-2018. The results showed that accretion occured in 6 locations with an average change of Kota Sebrang 771 m, Tungkal Ilir 240.65 m, Kuala Betara 153.73 m, Mendahara 167.78 m, Kuala Jambi 169.35 m and Nipah 57.3 m, while abrasion occurs at 2 locations with an average change in Sabak Timur -41.8 m and Sadu -36.55 m. Where in the 6 locations that had accretion, mangrove density dominantly was in a close-densed and moderate state and only a few are in a low-densed condition. Meanwhile, the 2 locations that had abrasion were in a moderate state and have a low density mangrove forest
Willingness To Pay (WTP) for environmental services of well water sources in Kupang City
Abstract: This study using an interview for survey, respondents were asked a series of questions about their willingness to pay for environmental services as hypothetical research, which would assist in the conservation of water resources. Willingness to pay (WTP) for the owners who commercialized the well water using bidding game methods with offers of different starting points was asked to the respondents for the Groundwater Basin (CAT) Tabun-Bakunase-Haukoto-Sikumana, CAT Kupang-Oesapa-Tarus, CAT Penfui and Baumata, CAT Bolok-Tenau-Alak-Namosain. The results of the study showed that the value of Willingnes To Pay of the well owner was commercialized from 17 respondents who were willing to pay in the amount of Rp. 518.209 or Rp.6,100/m3.
The average cost of production around Rp. 146.650/day, with the amount of discharged water that taken is 4.175 m3, with a cost per 5 m3 is Rp. 3.482, resulting in Rp.30.997 surplus for the producer. Consumer Respondent surplus towards payment of environmental services for commercialized wells water resources is Rp. 496.000,.
The consumption of commercialized well water resources in Kupang on CAT Bolok-Tenau-Alak-Namosain is 150 m3/day or 54.750 m3/year, CAT Tabun-Bakunase-Haukoto-Sikumana is 2.600 m3/day or 949.000 m3/year, CAT Kupang- Oesapa-Tarus is 1.125 m3/day or 410.625 m3/year, CAT Penfui is 300 m3/day or 109.500 m3/year, and the amount of water withdrawal is less than the potential of groundwater in each CAT, so there is a surplus of water discharge that taken on CAT in the city of Kupang.
The factors that influence the agreed response based on the test results indicate that the risk factors that have a low level of risk are Age (X1), Education (X2), Occupation (X3), Cost (X5), while risk factors that have a strong level of risk are Acceptance (X4) and Environmental Services Knowledge (X6). For Age risk factors (X1), Education (X2), Employment (X3), Costs (X5) have a low level risk level, this means that these factors are not risk factors that can pose a high risk on the willingness of the respondents to pay (WTP). While Acceptance (X4) and Environmental Services Knowledge (X6) have strong risk factors which means that these factors pose a strong risk to the willingness of respondents to pay (WTP), so that a significant effect is partially between acceptance and knowledge of environmental services to willingness of well owners in paying for groundwater environmental services that are used as economic goods. Acceptance and knowledge of environmental services have a significant effect because the greater the acceptance and knowledge of environmental services, the greater the willingness to pay for environmental services
The effect of pH and temperature on desinfection process using microbubble and pressurized carbon dioxide
Mengatasi persoalan kualitas air permukaan yang disebabkan oleh bakteri patogen Eschericia coli (E. coli). Untuk mencegah terjadinya berbagai penyakit yang timbul akibat air yang tercemar oleh E. coli, maka perlu dilakukan proses desinfeksi. Desinfeksi menggunakan microbubble karbondioksida (CO2) bertekanan mulai dikembangkan sebagai metode desinfeksi alternatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pH dan suhu terhadap efektifitas desinfeksi E. coli. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua tahap yaitu operasonal dengan variasi pH awal (4,7 dan 9) dilanjutkan dengan variasi suhu (20, 25, 30, 35, dan 40⁰C), selama 25 menit dengan tiga kali ulangan. Tekanan pada reaktor menggunakan tekanan 0.2 MPa. Perhitungan koloni E. coli menggunakan metode Total Plate Count (TPC). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata suhu cenderung mengalami peningkatan, sementara rerata pH serta jumlah E. coli mengalami penurunan. efek mikrobisidal paling efektif terjadi pada pH awal 4 dengan penurunan jumlah E. coli sebesar 73%. Suhu yang paling efektif untuk mendesinfeksi E. coli sebesar 86.7% adalah 40⁰C dengan suhu dan pH akhir sebesar 55⁰C dan 5.0 dimana jumlah E. coli yang semula 1.5 x 106 CFU/ml, tereduksi menjadi 0.2 x 106 CFU/ml
