Understanding Customer Insights Through Big Data: Innovations in Brand Evaluation in the Automotive Industry
Abstract. Insights gained from social media platforms are pivotal for businesses to understand their products’ present position. While it is possible to use consulting services focusing on surveys about a product or brand, such methods may yield limited insights. By contrast, on social media, people frequently express their individual and unique feelings about products openly and informally. With this in mind, we aim to provide rigorous methodologies to enable businesses to gain significant insights on their brands and products in terms of representations on social media. This study employs conjoint analysis to lay the analytical groundwork for developing positive and negative sentiment frameworks to evaluate the brands of three prominent emerging automotive companies in Indonesia, anonymized as “HMI,” “YMI,” and “SMI.” We conducted a survey with a sample size of n=67 to analyze the phrasings of importance for our wording dictionary construction. A series of data processing operations were carried out, including the collection, capture, formatting, cleansing, and transformation of data. Our study’s findings indicate a distinct ranking of the most positively and negatively perceived companies among social media users. As a direct management-related implication, our proposed data analysis methods could assist the industry in applying the same rigor to evaluating companies’ products and brands directly from social media users’ perspective. Chinese MNEs Ownership Global Strategy: Do Geographical Distance, Market Size, & Regulatory Quality Matter?
This study investigates the cross-border M&As performed by CMNEs in 25 developing countries from 2016 – 2018. Using econometrics approach, this study provides an empirical analysis of the role of geographical distance, host market size, and host government quality on the cross-border M&As performed by CMNEs. We find that geographical distance does not significantly affect the portion of ownership of CMNEs in cross-border M&As. We also find that host country market size and host country regulatory quality significantly influence the portion of ownership of EMNEs in cross-border M&As. Specifically, a larger host country market size and a better regulatory quality of the host country leads to higher portion of EMNEs ownership in their cross-border M&As. These findings contribute to cross – border M&As literature, especially in the context of CMNEs ownership in developing countries. Our study also offers practical implication with regard to the subject matter. Keywords: Cross – border M&As; Geographic distance; Market size; Regulatory qualit
Selection Method of Operational and Maintenance of Flaring Facility by Using BCOR Factor and Multicriteria Decision-Making Analysis (MCDM)
The AHP (as one of the Multi-criteria Decision Making) methods with BCOR (Benefit, Cost, Opportunity and Risk) approach can overcome the difficulties in making decision with multi-criteria for selecting the best operation and maintenance flaring facility effort in the petroleum industry, by considering technical, safety, environment, economy (in the situation where the production keep on the decline and the fluctuation of oil price), applicable regulation both in Indonesia and in the world and also the new initiative from World Bank related with environmental protection and air pollution prevention, which is Zero Flaring initiative in 2030. In this paper, by using the AHP model structure that formed by 5 layers, consist of Goal, Factor (BCOR), Criteria (there are 11 criteria), Sub-Criteria (there are 31 criteria), and Alternatives (1. Flare the gas to nearest flaring facility or 2. Repair the flaring facility). The flaring facility owner in PT. CPI can decide with confidence the best alternative for their operation and maintenance of flaring facility effort to be implemented at the field, based on the analysis results obtained from the AHP method and the BCOR approach by using Super Decision, the highest consideration is based on the highest global BCOR weight is a benefit, followed by risk and the third is cost, and the last one is opportunity. The benefit weight becomes the highest consideration since compliance to safety and environment include in the benefit criteria, besides the optimization of operation and maintenance for safety in design. This is by following per under the value and vision of PT. CPI “To be the global energy company most admired for its people, partnership and performance” From the AHP analysis with the BOCR factor, the best alternative is to flare the gas to the nearest flaring facility. Prospective Customer Preference Toward Service Robots: A Discrete Choice Model Approach
Abstract. One major technological development pertains to the service robot industry. In Indonesia, the development of robots is increasing. Telkom will begin to explore new opportunities with companion robots, which can respond to and chat with humans and move around. Therefore, more analysis is needed based on market research and prospective user surveys. The present study aims to obtain information on the features of service robots significantly influencing customers’ desire to purchase them and on the types of service robots they are likely to choose. The discrete choice model method is used to understand and predict a decision from a discrete alternative, based on a set of choices constructed with the help of the Ngene software and the D-efficient design method. We processed questionnaire results using the Python-Biogeme software to look for significant attributes and their elasticity. The significant attributes of companion robots defined by T-test are basic robot look (3.86), battery life (5.45), robot price (9.16), walking-computer look (6.10), and robot weight (8.38). The suggested strategy, among the three types of companion robots, is to focus on the personal assistant robot with the highest T-test score while paying attention to the resources a company already has. Keywords: Service Robot, Discrete Choice Model, Significant Attribute, Elasticit
Healthcare Ecosystem Mapping in Secondary Health Facility for Hypertension Case
Healthcare management research is currently broader its focuses beyond hospitals operations management and involves entities included in the healthcare ecosystem to improve overall quality. However, healthcare is a complex system with multiple issues and consisting of many entities and interactions involved. This study aims to describe the healthcare ecosystem interaction of hypertension cases. This case becomes the focus of attention because, based on Indonesia’s basic health research results, the revalence of hypertension increased to 34.1% in 2018. This research uses a qualitative approach, and the hypertension management process is described based on data collected and interview results. BPMN uses to describe the healthcare ecosystem services flow and identify entities’ interaction involved. In elaborating the interactions between entities, several things were identified that caused poor management of hypertension, such as lack of patient compliance and social support, unintegrated health data, poor coordination among stakeholders, limited staff and technology used, and many services procedures. This study provides an overview of the entity’s relationship in providing services to hypertensive patients through the healthcare ecosystem mapping that grouped entities into delivery, financing, policymaking, and innovation. Moreover, implementing an electronic-based health system is suggested to help manage hypertension cases more effectively and support data-driven decisions.
