    This study aims to determine the citation analysis of scientific papers of undergraduate theses of students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, University of Padjadjaran during the Even Semester of the Academic Year 2011. This study aims to determine the characteristics (shape, author / sources, language) which are frequently cited in scientific papers, publications of source of information, the frequency of citations of scientific papers and the development of Communication Information Science and Library Studies based on distribution subject of the cited references. The population studied is 227 titles of undergraduate theses from 4 departments (Journalism, Public Relations, Management Communication Library and Information Science). The population consists of 7089 citations. The results showed that the students appear to scientific papers from the Faculty of Communication’s lecturers. Especially those published in book form. The scientific papers of the Faculty of Communication’s lecturers are not yet cited in proper proportion. Besides that, there are students who still cite from private blogs. In general, student’s skill to cite is still below standard. The study recommended the socialization of scientific products of Faculty of Communication’s lecturers. A guide to standardization of bibliography writing is highly recommended

    Abstract. UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Library wants to keep abreast of information technology development that can improve library quality. Smartphone with android operating system nowadays is one of knowing information technology that developed rapidly. The advantages of smartphones using android operating system is the ability to run multiple applications simultaneously, ease of access, and has a relatively cheap price with a lot of functions. The UPN "Veteran" JakartaLibrary currently has limitations in providing a collection search facility due to the less roomy space, the cost of electricity, and also the ergonomics of the device. Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) or that can be known byonline catalog is a useful facility for the user and library in providing the means. Development OPAC withandroid-basedis expected to provide solutions to problems that can help users and also UPN "Veteran" JakartaLibrary in providing excellent service. In this research article will be presented about the stages of OPAC with android-bases development in UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Library by using System Development Life Cyle (SDLC) method. From the result of the research, it is concluded that thedevelopment of OPAC with android-bases in UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Library has been able to provide ten parameters of OPAC third generation. With the android-based OPAC is expected to help the user infinding the collection with the limitations of the search facilities provided by UPN "Veteran" Jakarta as well as providing variations in searching collection at OPAC library UPN "Veteran" Jakarta.Keywords: Development, OPAC, Androi

    ANALYSIS OF THESIS ADVISING PATTERN IN MASTER PROGRAM ON FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE IPB USING DATA MINING APPROACH

    The thesis is student study report which is accomplished as a requirement of graduation for Master program. Selecting study’s topic and advisors influence implementation of the study. Therefore, study’s topic is able to improve academic institution quality, however a large number of thesis documents on the repository cause difficulty to get information related to advisor’s expertness and the frequent or rare topic is former studied. Association rule mining can be used to mine information on the related item. This study aims to analyze advising patterns system in Master program on Agriculture based on supervisors and their topic research on metadata thesis of IPB repository and text documents of summary using data mining approach. The datas were collected from the repository of Bogor Agricultural University website and processed using R language programming. Pattern result of the reseach were that the most popular association on supervisor was occurred at support value of 0.00793 or equivalent to 7 theses and four popular topics were Botanical insecticide, Global warming, Upland Rice, and Land Use Change.     Abstract, Information literacy is an important skills for 21st century learners. One of methods to evaluate the implementation of information literacy program in school library is assessment of information literacy competence. The objectives of this research were to establish a standard of information literacy for Indonesian students and to design a webbasedinformation literacy assessment system. This research employed Delphi technique with two rounds questionnaire distributed among panelists of 9 experts. The experts consists of three school librarians, two teachers and four information literacy researchers. Six standards and 40 performance indicators were identified as information literacy standard.     IDENTIFIKASI FAKTOR-FAKTOR PENYEBAB KERUSAKAN KOLEKSI PERPUSTAKAAN

    Abstrak. Buku yang menjadi koleksi perpustakaan merupakan aset, sehingga harus dijaga betul kondisinya agar tidak hilang ataupun rusak. Koleksi rusak diartikan sebagai menurunnya kualitas koleksi sehingga tidak dapat dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Pustakawan sangat perlu mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kerusakan koleksi perpustakaan. Faktor-faktor kerusakan disebabkan oleh: 1) Faktor internal yang berasal dari karakteristik kertas (termasuk faktor kimia); dan 2) Faktor eksternal berupa: lingkungan, manusia, bencana alam, maupun biota. Selanjutnya faktor lingkungan yang termasuk faktor fisika seperti halnya cahaya, pencemaran udara, temperatur / suhu, kelembaban udara, serta debu. Perlunya mengidentifikasi faktor kerusakan sedini mungkin, karena agar kerusakan koleksi segera bisa dideteksi lebih awal, penanganan koleksi bisa dilakukan secara hati-hati sesuai jenis koleksi dan tingkat kerusakannya, sehingga koleksi dapat terjaga atau terpelihara dengan baik. Kata kunci: karakteristik kertas, lingkungan, manusia, bencana alam, biota, koleksi  Abstract. Books that become collections of libraries are assets, so it must be kept so that conditions are not lost or damaged. Broken collections are interpreted as decreasing the quality of the collection so they can not be fully utilized. Librarians need to know the factors that affect the damage of library collections. The damaging factors are caused by: 1) Internal factors deriving from paper characteristics (including chemical factors); and 2) External factors such as: environment, humans, natural disasters, and biota. Then environment factor like physical factors, for example: light, air pollution, temperature, humidity, and dust. The need to identify the damaging factors as early as possible, because to the deterioration of the collections there soon can be detected early, collections can be handled carefully according to the type of collection and the extent of the damage, and there fore the collection can be well maintained.     Pindahnya lokasi UPT Perpustakaan ke gedung yang baru di lantai satu Gedung H diharapkan membawa perubahan pada tingkat kunjungan pemustaka. Menurut data statistik tahun 2015, saat perpustakaan masih menempati lokasi yang lama, pengunjung yang datang ke perpustakaan per hari rata-rata 48 orang. Data statistik kunjungan akhir tahun 2016 setelah menempati lokasi yang baru sejak bulan April 2016 sampai Desember 2016, rata-rata pengunjung per hari hanya naik menjadi 49 orang per hari, padahal secara teori letak perpustakaan yang baru lebih strategis karena lebih mudah dijangkau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja yang menjadi penghambat pemustaka potensial  untuk berkunjung ke perpustakaan. Pemustaka potensial adalah mereka yang tercatat sebagai anggota perpustakaan akan tetapi jarang atau bahkan tidak pernah datang kembali ke perpustakaan untuk memanfaatkan layanannya. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode proporsive sampling, dimana sampel memiliki kriteria sebagai pemustaka potensial. Karena keterbatasan waktu penelitian, ditetapkan jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 300 orang.Sampel diambil dari mahasiswa program D3 dan D4 angkatan 2015 dan 2016 serta mahasiswa program D4 angkatan 2014. Hasil kuesioner dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kelangkaan pemustaka potensial datang ke perpustakaan adalah terbatasnya waktu layanan perpustakaan, padatnya kegiatan pemustaka sehari-hari dan tersedianya sumber rujukan lainnya

    Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh banyaknya informasi hoax yang tersebar di media sosial  instagram yang menuntut kita untuk dapat menentukan dan memilih informasi yang akurat, serta masih rendahnya kemampuan literasi media yang  dimiliki pemustaka. Masalah yang menjadi kajian dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah terdapat hubungan antara pemanfaatan media sosial instagram dengan kemampuan literasi media pemustaka UPT Perpustakaan Institut Teknologi Nasional. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara pemanfaatan media sosial instagram dengan kemampuan literasi media pemustaka UPT Perpustakaan Institut Teknologi Nasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pemustaka  di UPT Perpustakaan Institut Teknologi Nasional dengan  jumlah 9.818 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah proportionate stratified random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 99 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif korelasional, dan analisis data  menggunakan korelasi spearman rank. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuesioner tertututp dengan skala empat kategori Likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang kuat dan signifikan antara pemanfaatan media sosial instagram dan kemampuan literasi media. Secara khusus hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gambaran pemanfaatan media sosial instagram berada pada kategori sangat baik dan gambaran kemampuan literasi media berada pada kategori sangat baik

    Planning of Teaching Library (TLib.) as an entity involves steps of examining environments, conducting needs assessments, and evaluating available resources. In its implementation, TLib. affirms librarian to holds a position as more than just a supporting element for academic programs and research. The role librarian plays as a major organizer of intellectual asset brings with it some responsibility of teaching users to get well informed and benefit sources of information available and at the same time encouraging the opportunity of lifelong learning through continuous teaching-learning process. To librarian, teaching proves to be a supporting activity towards credits to enhance his career as professional. In regards with the concept of TLib. teaching is geared towards illuminating efficient techniques to evaluate and provide information for various kinds of users in the society. Giving new students especially, bibliographic instructions of how to benefit from the collections the best way through User Education effectively. Delivering materials of librarianship to information communities from both outside and inside the campus: in-house training, practices for vocational school students majoring in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), comparative study, and benchmarking. As information specialist and subject librarian as well, this professional guides a new paradigm with vision and mission basically doing some strengthening on the motto the university has, namely “A leading and outstanding university”. Standards serving as an objective tool are applied based on performance measurements and referred to the correlation between information resources served and the achievement of the Civitas Academica (CA) of the university in a more intense way. The TLib.’s goals as the implementation of standards are focused on users as stakeholders and range from the empowerment to the preservation of knowledge and culture

    Conducting library learning activities in the classroom is one of the tasks and receivables in the Field Experience Practice (PPL) activities for all students of the Library of Education and Information Sciences University of Indonesia. Good practice research methodology is one of the alternative choices in estimating the steps that can be taken in the Field Experience Practice (PPL) program of students of the Library of Education and Information Sciences University of Indonesia, which will later become a product of collaboration between the school librarians and teachers at school, and can also present a school product design school learning product. Collaborating in the School Literacy Movement (GLS) activities is one of the bills that must be present in the program, wherein every student of the Library and Information Sciences University of Education program students is required to: 1) Be able to prepare the classroom learning collaboration design with coaching teachers, 2) Able to implement library learning practices, and 3) Able to describe Practical Review Results. Through the field experience (PPL) practice, the students of the Library of Education and Information Sciences University of Indonesia's Education program are able to obtain competencies relevant to their field in an optimal way to work in the workplace, especially in the field of school libraries

    ANALISIS KEBUTUHAN TOPIK PEMBELAJARAN LITERASI INFORMASI ONLINE PADA PERPUSTAKAAN SEKOLAH MAN INSAN CENDEKIA

    In each design activities, required analysis of user needs for the results obtained to meet the objectives to be achieved. This research is descriptive qualitative research which aims to get an analysis of learning needs LI material online that required student MAN Insan Cendekia Serpong. Thenumber of samples in this study was 54 students. The data taken is analized based on the indicators of LI which refers to Information Literacy Competency Standard for Higher Education which is released bythe Association of College Research Libraries (ACRL), combined with School Library Manifest which is published by International Federation of Library Association of College Research Libraries (IFLA/UNESCO). The results of the research indicated that respondents have good ability in terms of 1) determining the limits of information, accessing information needed effectively and efficiently, 2) combining selected information into one's knowledge base, 3) ability to understand economic issues,law, and social use of information and access it ethically and legally. The abilities which are needed to increase is in evaluating information and the sources, and ability to use information effectively to achieve the particular goals. Six tops materials which are selected by students in designing information literation based on web, are 1) orientation in library including collection items and loations, 2) the technique of index using, reference materials and bibliography, 3) Techinques in searching information, 4) Technique of Online catalogue use, 5) Ways to use reference sources which is matched the needs, 6) Technique of reference writing
