Study of Information Behavior of Reference Librarians at The Diponegoro University Library
This study aims to determine the information behavior of reference librarians in meeting users' information needs at the Diponegoro University Library. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. Researchers have interviewed six informants. The data analysis method used is by using thematic analysis method. The results showed that the information behavior carried out by reference librarians in meeting users' information needs at the Diponegoro University Library can be seen when reference librarians can help users meet their information needs. Information behavior carried out by reference librarians in helping users meet their information needs can be done by providing reference services at the Diponegoro University Library, knowing and meeting users' information needs. Reference librarians can also assist users in meeting their information needs by guiding users on how to search for information by the information needs of users quickly and precisely
Analysis of Museum Website Requirements Based on AISAS Model
Regarding promotional activities, almost all museums in Bandung use social media as a means of promoting the existence and activities of their museums. The results of the analysis of website ownership show that five of the eleven museums in the city of Bandung do not or do not have a website. Museum as an open institution frees the public to access information owned by the museum and as a source of information, museums need to think about how the information they have can be accessed and utilized by the public. To determine the types of information needs about a promotion that is needed by the community, an analysis is needed related to the elements that must be owned in promotional activities, namely attention, interest, search, action, and share which are then shortened to AISAS. This study uses descriptive analysis with data collection using questionnaires and interviews. The research participants consisted of the general public and the head of the museum. The results showed that the most sought-after information was promotional information related to elements (1) search, (2) attention, (3) interest, (4) action, and (5) share, with the type of promotional information related to location. museums, museum opening hours, interesting promotional content, and also the presence of multimedia content. The analysis process involving the head of the museum also provides additional information in the form of the availability of supporting technology and the availability of human resources which adds to the fact that content in promotional activity is not everything
The Influence of Digital Comics Silat Sliwa Betawi on Cultural Literacy in Teenagers Bulak Simpul Kalideres
Cultural literacy is the ability to know, recognize and understand the culture that exists in an environment. Preserving a culture must be so as not to disappear or become extinct, one of the cultures that need help developing is Silat Sliwa Betawi in Kalideres. This research aims to analyze the influence of silat Sliwa Betawi digital comics on cultural literacy in the teenager Bulak Simpul Kalideres.This type of research is a combination of research with experimental research. The subject of the study was a teenager in Bulak Simpul Kalideres, while the object of this study was the influence of Silat Sliwa Digital Comics on Cultural Literacy in Bulak Simpul, Kalideres. The final sample count used for the analysis was 36 adolescents. Running the research site in Bulak Simpul Kalideres. Data collection techniques use active participation observations, unstructured interviews, and questionnaires. It runs the data analysis into two stages: qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. After conducting pre-test, experiments with digital comics, post-test then analyze the last data using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test method, which gets the result that the value of Pvalue = 0.000 is smaller than α=5%, where if Pvalue is smaller than α then there is a significant influence between after and before the treatment of the use of Sliwa Betawi digital comics on cultural literacy
The Evaluation of the College Library Information Systems Usage in Malaysia
Libraries now need to be cooperated along with the use of information systems. This information system has been widely applied and has succeeded in helping library services as well as facilitating library management while at the same time attracting more people to use the library which will bring various benefits to them. The DeLone and McLean model is a model that has 6 evaluation variables, namely: system quality, information quality, service quality, system use, user satisfaction and net benefits. The use of this model can help determine the success and success of the information system contained in the Universiti Malaysia Pahang library. With the use of this model, it is hoped that it will be known where the stage of this library information system is. The results of the study show that the quality and success of information systems plays an important role in ensuring that user satisfaction is achieved. Basically, users feel happy and satisfied with the information system provided. And it is hoped that this study can be a guide to making good decisions for the library and be a guide for future research
A Survey of the Use Of Social Media among Undergraduate Student in the Faculties of Law in Universities Osun State Nigeria
The study examined the awareness and use of social media platforms among undergraduate law students in universities in Osun State. It also investigated the extent to which gender, age, level of study and awareness of social media platforms influence the use of social media platforms among respondents. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The study population comprised undergraduate students in faculties of law in three selected universities in Osun state. The instrument for data collection was the questionnaire. Five hundred and twenty seven (527) respondents participated in the study. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, Pearson Product Moment Correlation and multiple Regression Analysis. The results of the study revealed that respondents exhibited a low level of awareness and use of social media platforms. WhatsApp was found to be the most popular and utilised social media platform. The study also revealed that social media platforms were used mainly for online trading and seeking general knowledge about doing business. The study revealed that use of social media platforms had no significant relationship with gender (r = -.018, p 0.05), age (r = 0.011, p 0.05) and level of study ( r = 0.034, p 0.05), but had significant positive relationship with awareness of social media platforms ( r = 0.234, p 0.05). In addition, the study revealed that a combination of gender, age, level of study and awareness of social media platforms significantly influenced the use of social media platforms among respondents. (F = 7.507, df = 4: 522, p 0.05). Awareness of social media platforms (β = 0.237, t = 5.397, p 0.05) was found to be the only significant predictor variable in the use of social media platforms among respondents. It was concluded from the study that gender, age, level of study and the awareness of social media platforms significantly influenced the use of social media platforms among undergraduate law students in universities in Osun state, Nigeria. It was recommended that these factors be taken into account by university administrators when making policies on the use of social media in the university system
Librarian Ethics: the Basic Attitude of Librarians at Medan Library and Archives Service is Based on the Indonesian Librarian Code of Ethics
This study aimed to determine the ethics of librarians on the basic attitudes of the Medan City Archives and Library Service. This research method uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The informants in this study were 4 librarians at the Medan City Archives and Library Service. The technique of taking informants using the purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and literature study. Data analysis in this study is carried on 3 (three) stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of this study show that the librarian of the Medan City Archives and Library Service carries out the task according to the visitors' needs by providing exemplary services and paying attention to the visitors' needs. Librarians strive to maintain competency excellence through various activities and are responsible for work in their fields. The librarian of the Medan City Library and Archives Service seeks to distinguish between personal attitudes and professional duties so that the services provided to users run well and avoid abuse of the profession in their duties.
Application of The FRBR Concept in the Digital Library Catalog System Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Home Affairs of The Republic of Indonesia
Library institutions have several very important elements, one of which is information retrieval which is currently used in the library's online catalog. The method for cataloging the online catalog is Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR). This writing aims to provide an overview of the implementation of the FRBR structure in the online catalog of BPP Kemendagri digital library to simplify the information retrieval process and provide insights to those who access cataloged information. This research is a type of qualitative research with literature study, observation. Literature study is used for FRBR concepts and theories while observing as a user observes the digital library catalog belonging to BPP Kemendagri by looking at the existing fields and then analyzed. The data were then analyzed using thematic analysis. The results of this study show that the online catalog display of the BPP Kemendagri digital library displays the relationship to the first group entity, namely the item entity, work, manifestation and expression and also has a relationship with the second group entity, namely the entity related to the party responsible for intellectual or artistic content, namely individuals or individuals. corporate body. The online catalog of BPP Kemendagri provides information and certain features related to content, language and physical descriptions, gives users access to other sources of information by clicking on the sections and the application of this FRBR has helped users search for information sources through information retrieval facilities
Development of a Disablitiy-Friendly an Inclusive in Sebelas Maret University Library
Higher education libraries generally provide library material collection needs for non-disabled users, while disabled users also need the same. The purpose of this study was to determine the policy governance of the development of the UPT library at Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, which was friendly and inclusive, and student responses to the policy governance of the development of the UPT library at Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, which was pleasant and inclusive. The research method uses qualitative and quantitative descriptive involving 33 respondents. Researchers used questionnaires and interviews to obtain data. The results of this study indicate that the management of library UPT development policies includes information resource management policies, collection development for disabled users, and facilities and infrastructure policies for disabled users. The results of student responses to information resource management policies are high, 63.6%, responses to collection development policies are medium, 36.4%, and answers to facilities and infrastructure development policies are very low, 54.5%. Overall, the student response to the policy of developing the UPT library at Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, which is disability-friendly and inclusive, is shallow, at 39.4%. The conclusion from these results is that the development of the Disabled and Inclusive UNS Library UPT is essential for improvement, especially policies in the field of facilities and infrastructure
OPTIMALISASI LAYANAN DALAM JEJARING PERPUSTAKAAN UPI MASA BENCANA COVID-19
Memfungsikan sumber belajar pada level pendidikan tinggi, menjadi salah satu prioritas kegiatan yang perlu dilakukan semasa terjadi kebencanaan yang melanda seluruh dunia saat ini. Sivitas akademik yang harus belajar di rumah dan bekerja dari rumah untuk memerangi penyebaran virus corona-19 ini, memerlukan seluruh akses yang tetap harus berjalan dan dapat memberikan layanan informasi bahan-bahan, koleksi digital yang tepat, sesuai kebutuhan. Akses terhadap layanan langsung tidak dapat diberikan kepada pemustaka untuk meminjam dan membaca ditempat, bahkan pengembalian koleksi tercetak pun tidak dapat dilakukan. Melalui survey yang diselenggarakan dalam kurun waktu satu minggu, dimulai dari tanggal 13 April 2020 sampai dengan 17 april 2020, Perpustakaan UPI menyebarkan kuisioner daring untuk mengukur seberapa besar layanan dalam jejaring dimanfaatkan oleh pemustaka, serta memberikan deskripsi gambaran kecenderungan layanan dalam jejaring apa saja yang diakses oleh pemustaka, dan terakhir mengidentifikasi kebutuhan layanan daring apa yang belum tersedia di Perpustakaan UPI. Diperoleh 100 orang pemustaka melalui sampel insidental, dari pemustaka yang menggunakan email dan instragram. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah 56% responden mengakses sumber informasi layanan daring perpustakaan dari website perpustakaan.upi.edu dengan persepsi pemustaka pada layanan daring perpustakaan UPI sebanyak 53% menyatakan optimal. Sebanyak 52% kesan umum pemustaka menyatakan baik dan layanan daring yang paling dibutuhkan oleh pemustaka adalah layanan repository sebanyak 80% pemustaka menyatakan layanan daring ini dapat diakses dengan mudah oleh pemustaka, lalu kesan umum mengenai ketuntasan dalam aktivitas layanan daring yang disediakan oleh perpustakaan ini menunjukan 63% selesai dalam waktu yang dijanjikan dan layanan dari ini dinyatakan oleh 93% responden sesuai dengan panduan. Dibutuhkan bentuk sosialisasi dan pengembangan program berbasis teknologi informasi untuk mendukung setiap bentuk kebutuhan pemustaka khususnya, untuk memfasilitasi akses yang belum terfasilitasi secara optimal. Utamanya Perpustakaan UPI telah memberikan berbagai layanan dalam jejaring yang terus diupayakan menjadi sumber informasi dalam membantu pembelajaran secara optimal dalam masa kebencanaan COVID-19 ini
STRATEGI PROMOSI PERPUSTAKAAN PUSTAKALANA DALAM MENARIK MINAT KUNJUNG PEMUSTAKA
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui strategi promosi perpustakaan Pustakalana dalam menarik minat kunjung pemustaka. Fokus penelitian adalah bagaimana perencanaan promosi, pelaksanaan promosi, dan pengendalian promosi di perpustakaan Pustakalana. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah wawanacara, observasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Untuk uji keabsahan data dilakukan dengan teknik triangulasi sumber yang dilakukan dengan mewawancarai narasumber ahli dalam bidang promosi perpustakaan. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data dapat disimpulkan bahwa perpustakaan Pustaka-lana dalam perencanaan promosi melakukan analisis target pemustaka, analisis SWOT perpustakaan, dan menentukan tujuan promosi perpustakaan. Dari ketiga hal tersebut perpustakaan menentukan media promosi yang akan digunakan dan pesan yang ingin disampaikan. Pada pelaksanannya, promosi perpustakaan Pustakalana menggunakan media promosi brosur, penjualan perorangan, pemberian potongan harga, penggunaan media sosial (instagram, facebook, dan blog), kegiatan FHBA (Festival Hari Buku Anak), informasi dari mulut ke mulut, dan penjualan langsung (whatsapp dan email). Perpustakaan Pustakalana melakukan monitoring dan penilaian terhadap media promosi yang digunakan, dan hasilnya media promosi yang paling efektif adalah instagram. Kendala yang dihadapi perpustakaan Pustakalana dalam melakukan promosi adalah kekurangan sumber daya manusia, sehingga pelaksanaan beberapa kegiatan terhambat
