This study aims to determine the level of OPAC accessibility in SLiMS and INLISLite applications. Four main guidelines on website accessibility will be analyzed: perceivable, operable, adaptable, and robust. The four guidelines are based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods and data analysis techniques using manual checks based on the WCAG-EM guidelines, which focus on two levels, namely A and AA. The results of the study based on four indicators are (1) perceivable on SLiMS and INLISLite experiencing problems in providing alternative text, (2) operable on SLiMS and INLISLite found problems in the focus element, (3) understandable on SLiMS and INLISLite fail to meet the criteria for providing language, and (4) robust, both applications have succeeded in utilizing HTML syntax according to the provisions. Thus, from the four indicators, the SLiMS and INLISLite applications still need to meet several criteria at level A, namely the criteria for using language, using color, and providing alternative text on non-text elements. Meanwhile, at level AA, there is a failure in the focus element. This study aims to determine the accessibility level of OPAC in the SLiMS and INLISLite applications. Full text link
The application of information technology in the library comes along with the development of human culture itself. The application of IT in libraries can function in various forms, including as a library management system that can be integrated with a library management system. Senayan Library Management System or Senayan or SLiMS is software that handles free library management with open source code. SLiMS has various features, such as Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), digital content/files, Bibliography/catalog database management, integrated catalog creation, serial publication control, integrated search engine creation, document item management with barcode support, master file management and support circulation. This study aims to see the benefits of using SLiMS in processing library materials at the State Elementary School of Jurumudi 1 Library. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach through case studies in the field. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, literature, and document study. The results indicate that SLiMS facilitates the processing of library materials in SDN Jurumudi 1. The use of SLiMS speeds up the processing of library materials compared to conventional systems

A university library is an academic library whose inventory is based on the subjects offered by the university. This is open to external students, teachers, and researchers. The research conducted is about the information system in a University Library. This research aimed to obtain information about the success of an information system in a university library. The researcher carried out this task to identify the aspects that affect the success of the information system and can provide a recommendation that can overcome the weaknesses detected, as well as evaluate the success and shortcomings in the information system of a University Library. The research method used is qualitative. A qualitative approach is a technique used in research activities, namely by producing descriptive data. The research findings received in the implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation at the USAS Library are based on the six dimensions of the Delone McLean model, which are related to the success of the information system, namely system quality, information quality, service quality, use, user satisfaction, and net benefits

Information Literacy of First-Year Undergraduates Across Disciplines - Engineering, Architecture, and Information Technology

The literature suggests that students commence university education with limited levels of IL, and this is true for both developed and developing countries. When universities understand entry-level students’ actual level of IL at the beginning of their undergraduate programmes, universities can objectively describe entry-level undergraduates’ IL levels and take steps to improve the levels to match with required revels for academic success. The purpose of the study was to investigate the information literacy of first-year undergraduates of engineering, architecture, and information technology disciplines when they commence their university education, and whether socio-demographic characteristics are associated with the information literacy of first-year undergraduates. 545 first-year undergraduates covering the three study disciplines responded to the survey questionnaire. Quantitative methods were used to analyse the data. Findings revealed that although information literacy exists in undergraduates to a certain extent, these vary by the discipline of study. The findings imply the need of addressing information literacy requirements by the discipline of the study to better serve undergraduates. Overall, the results lead to understanding information skills and behaviour of entry-level undergraduates, and what kinds of library services are appropriate and necessary for undergraduates across disciplines

Bibliometric Analysis of Paper Publication for Artificial Intelligence on Librarianship System with Full and Fractional Method

Knowing the bibliometric analysis of AI publications in the librarian system will be a great research opportunity because its development is very high. On the other hand, we can solve the convenience of current bibliometric analysis with bibliometric network applications, such as VOSViewer. However, the calculation is presented with two options, complete and fractional, for analysis. The bibliometric method is used to analyze the trend from time to time regarding AI in this library. The study uses Scopus to get data and VOSViewer to analyze, accompanied by trials with full and fractional methods. Through a restricted search of the past five years. AI has relevance to Librarianship Systems and trends in Digital Libraries. Then, it is found that there are differences in the calculation of the total and fractional methods that stand out in the bibliographic coupling approach. The development of AI in the librarian system is very high and is influenced by surrounding phenomena, while the choice of whole and fractional methods is not found to have absolute differences
