    Information literacy is one of the competencies of the library profession. Information literacy is needed in the work of librarianship. Reference service, the key determinant of library status in the society, requires competencies in information literacy. The purpose of this study is to find out how librarians in Indonesia meet the requirement of information literacy competencies and what factors affect the mastery of information literacy. This study is a qualitative research with literature survey. Based on the existing literature, the hypothesis was developed that librarians of Indonesia have information literacy skills if their personal development are supported by both internal and external factors. Internal factors comprise motivation (encouragement of work, efforts to achieve success, material and non-material motivation), attitudes towards the profession (job satisfaction, professional satisfaction, and organizational commitment), and other knowledge-skill-attitude (knowledge, computer literacy, digital literacy, and English language skills), educational background, and level of education. While external factors include availability of computers and Internet network, library policy to support the development of information literacy of librarians

    Library is an information resource centre that provides intangible services. Library is also known as a not-for-profit-organization that provides places for reading. Libraries in Indonesia have not been professionally administered. But now library institutions at all levels, including those at the academic institutions, begin to revamp, continue the scientific tradition, develop the nation's civilization to save and store book collection in various subjects and languages with the help if information and communication technologies (ICT). The study explores the potentials that can be collaborated between library services and its information strength and the networked application such go-jek.     Make a research and write a scientific paper should be used as reference material reference of a study. References must be included in writing in the form of research bibliography. The development of library collections will take place either if the library held a collection of materials relevant to users need. Therefore, the library should know what type of literature is needed and whether there already in library. The research objective is to: (1) Determine what type of literature cited in the Journal Fihris year 2008 and what is the dominant type of literature cited, (2) Language of literature what is quoted in the Journal Fihris 2008, (3) Availability literature cited at Library of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.This research is descriptive with research subjects is Fihris Journal in 2008 that amounted 2 journal with 20 article titles. While the subject of this research is all artcles in Journal Fihris 2008 that is 314 citation. This research method using interviews, observation, and documentation with the application of citation analysis methods. The data were analyzed deskripstif, where the data obtained were tabulated, analyzed the data based on percentages and presented in tabular form.The results showed there were 11 types of literature in the Journal Fihris 2008 with details: the book as much as 131 (41.72%), followed source of the Internet 114 (36.31%), journal 26 (8.30%), papers and research reports 24 ( 7.64%), dictionary 5 (1.60%), manual 5 (1.60%), encyclopaedia 3 (0.95%), magazine 3 (0.95%), glossary 1 (0.31%), law 1 (0.31%), and the thesis 1 (0.31%). There are two types of language used. That’s is english and Indonesia, with details 186 (63.49%) English and 107 (36.51%), Indonesia.Availability of a collection of 185 titles were 43 (27.21%) and is not available is 142 (72.79%).Recommended for procurement of improved collections, technical training citing sources from the Internet held, and English language training improved

    Library information systems and information assets administered to users become the backbone of library service with the support of information technology. Howevet the application of library information systems that grows rapidly may raise the riskthat causesfailures threatening librarians in assessing sources of risk threats. Risks may include events and conditions that lead to disruption in information services and the problem of the decision-making process evaluation although not documented in writing. Informants of this study consist of librarians who have social interaction with library information system. The method uses qualitative case study approach with in-depth interviews and direct observation.The results ofthe study identifies the riskin a hang of backup server is high, iThe purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of risk management in information systems at Gadjah Mada University Library using NISTSP 800-30 frame work and to determine factors that affect the implementation of risk management in information systems at the library. Risk management in information systems at Gadjah Mada University Library has been implemented to anticipate the various sources of risk threats by conducting risk assessment, risk mitigation and risk electricity is high, in security systems is high, in passwords is high, in authorization permission is moderate and in human resources is moderate. To reduce and eliminate the risk impact, Gadjah Mada University Library conducts risk mitigation by transferring the risk from a library information systemservers to PSDI (Center for Systems and Information Resources), while the risk evaluation of the activities is carried out continuously and consistently by the librarians to implement control and activities in risk mitigation to the extent acceptable to the library.     A smile is not the movement of the lips without meaning. A smile is a facial expression that shows interest in things that make us love seeing it So a smile shows an expression, may it be happiness, satisfaction, joy or love towards something. Library services need a good interaction between users and librarians, one of these interactions through non verbal communication is smiling. This research was conducted as librarians found it difficult to smile for some reasons. Smile is done only at certaintimes. A smiling librarian will make other librarians and library users respond with a smile too, so there will be a positive interaction, with a conducive atmosphere. But there are various kinds of smile; cynical smile, the seductive smile, stoic smile and sincere smile. A sincere smile is hard to do, therefore it requires a method or trainingfor someone to get accustomed to a smile. First, look in the mirror. Two, smile in the family. Three, smile training using a Chopstick. Four, use "Grin-O-Meter". The library should prioritize a smile training programme.     The study discusses certification of competence test for professional librarians as efforts to improve the quality of human resources in the library. Method of the study is descriptive analytical. The result of the study showed that librarians at state academic libraries in the Province of Bengkulu had interests in improving their quality through certification of competence test. Fifty percent (50%) of librarians agreed on the importance of certification to improve quality of library human resources. Yet, some others considered that certification was not yet important because it was just a formality, as a condition for promotion and rank. Their actual purpose for joining certification was to get certification allowance. Since regulation on certification is not yet clear in terms of allowance and enforcement, some librarians were not very enthusiastic in joining certification

    Tujuan penelitian dari studi deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif ini adalah untuk menganalisis alur komunikasi di Perpustakaan Proklamator Bung Hatta (PPBH) Bukittinggi. Peneliti merupakan instrumen dalam penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa atasan dan staf di Perpustakaan Proklamator Bung Hatta (PPBH) Bukittinggi melakukan alur komunikasi dalam organisasi yang terdiri dari komunikasi ke bawah, komunikasi ke atas, komunikasi horizontal, komunikasi lintas saluran, dan komunikasi informasl/ selentingan/ desas-desus berdasarkan faktor-faktor seperti proses aliran informasi, metode, media, format komunikasi, dan umpan balik. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa beberapa poin dari alur komunikasi yang terjadi pada pustakawan di Perpustakaan Proklamator Bung Hatta (PPBH) Bukittinggi masih belum sesuai dengan teori alur komunikasi dalam organisasi, terutama pada komunikasi ke bawah, komunikasi ke atas, dan komunikasi lintas saluran. Namun demikian pada poin komunkasi horizontal dan komunikasi informal/ selentingan/ desas-desus sudah sesuai dengan teori alur komunikasi organisasi.
