    Analisis hubungan prestasi akademik mahasiswa dengan akses sumber informasi

    Introduction. In the process of reading, students require different information sources to increase their academic achievement. This paper aims to examine information sources which have a relationship with students academic achievement and become a reference in the development of information sources to support student academic achievement. Method. The research used an experimental study, with N = 38. Based on the value of chi-square of 11,613, a P-value of 0.169 with α = 0.25; df = 8, and the chi-quadrat table = 10.2. It showed that  chi-quadrat count (11.6) is more than chi-quadrat table (10.2). If chi-quadrat counts more than chi-quadrat table, the student academic achievement  has a significant relationship with access to information sources. Results and Discussions. The results showed that students' academic achievements have a significant relationship with access to information sources. The behavior of students in accessing information sources had moderate degrees of relationship with their academic achievement, which means that there is no dominant information source used by the students related to their academic achievement. Conclusion. In this study, students prefer to choose multi-acsess information resources, resulting in the spread of the values of the normal curve to the shape of academic achievements. Further research should discuss students' reading ability towards  the use of information sources

    Introduction. This study aims to analyze the business model canvas by the Library of Stikom Surabaya by using nine elements. They are customer segments, value propositions, channels, customer relationships, revenue streams, key resources, key activities, key partnerships, dan cost structure.Data Collection Method. The study used qualitative descriptive perspective to examine factual information and emerging practices in the field.Results and Discussions. Students, staff and community should be able to leverage the library services. The value offered was technology-based services and visitor convenience. Channels provided were the library website, email, social media. Customer relationships were built through personal assistance and self service. The key resources were human, technology and facilities. The key activities were learning commons. The key partnerships were internal and external partners. Conclusions. The Library is committed to realising its vision as a superior information center by providing a complete and fast information and communication channel in accordance with technological developments and customer needs

    Introduction. The practice of library space consumption is very important to be elaborated by using cultural and media perspective, becaus it  elaborates on the problem of why digital native users interpret of space. This article is part of a dissertation research, which describes social practices and space representation by digital native users at UGM library.Data Collection Method. It is a qualitative research with participant observation, interviews, and supporting documentation, involving six informants selected purposively. Analysis Data. Ethnographic approach is carried out by paying attention to the meaning of the actions of the events that occur in digital native users. Results & Discussions. The results showed that UGM library space was used as productive and non-productive space. As productive space means that digital native users leveraged teh space for learning or other activities related to their study. Meanwhile, non-productive space refers to space to spend their leisure activities. The result showed that digital native users in leveraging the space did not correspond to the initial function of the space. There was inconsistency with the representations of space that was originally designed by the UGM library. Digital natives had their own way of leveraging the library space.Conclusion. There are other motivation how digital native users leveraging the library space. In representational space, digital native users have their own interests. Further research should discuss more specifically in revealing reasons of space use from another theories or perspectives

    Pemodelan personalisasi rekomendasi buku dengan pendekatan association rule mining

    Introduction. Library X is an academic library in Jakarta, Indonesia. Library X has provided Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) as a tool to provide information related to the collection. However, sometimes the information appears does not show high relevancy. One way to solve this problem is to develop user need based-book recommendation system. The purpose of this study is to create personalization model of book recommendations in Library X.Data Collection Method. The method used in this study was association rule mining using Apriori algorithm. Results and Discussions. The results showed that the book relationships for the minimum support was 0.1% and the minimum confidence was 10% and generated 42 association rules. It is noted that 657 (Accounting) and 658 (Management) are found to support for 2.6% with the confidence level for 14%.Conclusions. Book recommendation is formulated by selecting the rule with maximum support and confidence. The recommendation system is designed to be integrated to web application and user’s e-mail

    Introduction. The changing reality of libraries actually is a form of communication by the library management.  The Language of libraries, is a representation of  libraries through language. Various definitions of libraries from  the literatures are    representations of libraries through language. This study  aims to  examine the changing meaning of libraries from time to time.Data Collection Method. Data collection was conducted by involving documentation of various discourses discussing  libraries.Analysis Data. Discursive genealogy was used to analyse the data to provide changes of meaning of libraries from time to time. Results and Discussions. The result showed that the meaning of libraries continues to change. The current meaning of libraries is a room or institution where information is stored and gathered. Libraries are  hubs of users' needs including space, services, and various resources to support education, research, information, and recreation.Conclusion. Various changes of meaning of Libraries from time to time show that the representation of libraries through language has changed. The meaning of libraries may change and deconstruct

    Introduction. UPT Unsyiah Library is one of the facilities in Syiah Kuala University which provides book lending service to users.The library collects all information and has expanded a big data of book lending.Data Collection Method. This research aims to determine the relevance pattern between the book subject and the borrower's program of study, and to determine the pattern of book borrowing based on books that are often borrowed simultaneously. The pattern can be found using one of the methods of data mining that is the association rules mining with Eclat algorithm. Eclat algorithm uses vertical format of dataset to intersect TID list between items in determining support count so that the process of searching frequent itemset is faster.Analysis Data. There are 122.945 book lending data from 2007 to 2015 used in this study. These data show the borrowers’ behavior pattern of book lending behavior in UPT Library Unsyiah, especially the borrowers who are student of this university. Results and Discussions. The Eclat algorithm produces the most frequent and repeatable pattern of book subjects and program of studies from several years of research data, which are Accounting book subjects with its program of study (S1) and Chemistry book subjects with Chemistry Education program of study (S1).Conclusions. The analysis result for the book subject pattern and program of studies shows that the habit of Unsyiah students in borrowing books from the library is accordingly to their program of studies. As for the patterns between books, Eclat algorithm found linkage between books and most often repeated from several periods of years of research data is the book code of 12311 (Fundamentals of educational evaluation) with 42265 (Introduction to evaluation of education)

    Introduction. This study discusses how knowledge management activities (KM) supports knowledge transfer (KT) in "International Carnivorous Plant Society" (ICPS) group. Research Method. This study used qualitative descriptive method. The data collection activity was conducted by reviewing KM and KT activities in the ICPS group. The collected data was classified and analyzed for further discussions. Results and Discussions. The results showed that the implementation of KM and KT in ICPS was successfully done through ICPS website. KM activities in ICPS group were applied through 4 stages: identifying, collecting, and creating: classifying and storing; sharing; and accessing and using. KT activities in ICPS were conducted through the provision of articles on ICPS website; online journals; and video-making on the Youtube ICPS account related to carnivorous plants.Conclusions. Overall KM and KT activities in ICPS have been conducted in sufficient way. Only at the stage of “sharing” KM activities need more attention

    Pengaruh soft dan hard services terhadap akreditasi dan loyalitas pemustaka

    Introduction. As of January 2018 The Directorate of UII Library re-obtained the accreditation A from the National Library of Indonesia, and also become  the best unit of UII in 2017, it needs to have further evaluation.Data collection method. The survey was conducted at UII Library in July-October 2017, with sample of 252 students as respondents using purposive sampling. The hypothesis in this paper was there is influence between soft and hard services to user loyalty through acceptable accreditation intervening variables.Data analysis. The data was analysed by using multiple regression and path analysis in SPSS 16.0. Multiple regression was used to test direct influence between variables, while  path analysis was used   to determine the effect of exogenous variables on endogenous variables through intervening variable.Results and Discussions. The results showed that  the level of service quality and loyalty was high-very high (79.75-82.83%). The simultaneous influence of soft service (X1) and hard service (X2) on loyalty (Z) through accreditation (Y) increased  from 0.329 to 0.442 (0.442> 0.329). Simultaneously soft service (X1), hard service (X2) via accreditation (Y)-affected loyalty of library users (Z).Conclusions. In this research can be concluded that: Quality of service in UII Library Directorate in high condition s.d very high, while quality assurance level (accreditation) categorized high, and loyality pemustaka at very high level. The result of data analysis shows that the variable of soft service quality and hard there is direct influence to loyalty pemustaka. Meanwhile, the variable of soft and hard service through accreditation variable has an effect on the loyalty of the user. Future researchers can develop this research by involving all libraries within the UII as an object of study

    Introduction. The study discusses Workload Determination (Penentuan Beban Kerja/PBK) towards Credit Score (Angka Kredit) listed within the university system to examine Staff Target Performance (Sasaran Kinerja Pegawai/SKP) of skilled Librarians at the Library, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Data Collection Method. The required number of Credit Score in SKP matrix were evaluated by using qualitative perspective. The data was collected by interviewing SKR Compiler Team; Library Management Team, as well asquestioners distributed to 50 Skilled Librarians through Google Forms. Data Analysis. The data was analysed by using some features from Google Forms Survey.Results and Discussions. The results showed that 11 skilled librarians (22.9%) had difficulties in creating SKP; 11 skilled  librarians (31.4%) still had problems in meeting Effective Working Time  of 1250 hours; 24 skilled librarians (66.7%) stated that the timing of items in SKP was not suitable; 18 skilled librarians (52.9%) found difficulties to adjust the number of credits  and the number of working hours; 20 skilled librarians (57.2%) stated that there was limited guidance in the timing  and activities in SKP. Conclusion. The required amount of timing was decided based on team's agreement however in reality, the implementation was still in question

    Introduction. This study aims to examine the role of education and training in influencing librarians’ performance at the Main library of UniversitasGadjahMada(UGM). The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of education and training on the performance of librarians of UGM is important to consider the library of UGM to organize education and trainin every year.Data Collection Methods. This research used quantitative approach with survey. The subject of this study wais UGM librarian regarding their perspectives in the librarian traiing.Sample this research is 74 librarians.Data Analysis. The data was analysed by usingSPSSResults and Discussions. The results showed that library education did not affect the performance of librarians.  General knowledge training affected the performance of librarians. The performance of UGM librarians in the category is quite good. The data analysis shows that majority of UGM librarians have undergraduate education of 28 people (37.8%) and the second most have master's degree which is 21 people (28,4%). UGM librarians who have attended general knowledge training more than 5 times are 19 librarians (25.7%) and librarians who follow librarian training of more than 5 6 (8.1%). The performance score of UGM librarian is in interval of 56% -75% so it shows that the performance of UGM librarian in the category is quite good.Conclusion. Training of general knowledge field give positive influence to the performance of UGM librarian if given as much as 2-3 times in a year. Training in the field of librarianship gives a positive influence on the performance of UGM librarians. The more training the librarianship is given the better the performanc
