Menumbuhkan Perpustakaan Komunitas : Study Kasus Pada Taman Baca di TK Melati Ceria School Surabaya dan Taman Baca di TK Aisyiah 06 Surabaya
Community library is one of the alternative libraries that arise among community members. It is initiated by a particular groups of people who have concerns over the low reading habits among community members. These people hoped that by forming a community library will increase reading interest among community members.A research on this community library is done to study such initiative. This research was done by observing two kindergarten, those were TK Melati Ceria and TK Aisiyah 06. Both of these school have a reading corner that was established and nurtured by the Library of the Airlangga University.Using a qualitative descriptive method, this research aimed to understand the development of these reading corners and to examine if these reading corners grew into community libraries or not. The result of this research showed that since 2011, both TK Melati Ceria and TK Aisiyah 06 run well. The books donated by Airlangga University Library, are well used, although some are worn out due to frequent use. Both the corners has turned into community libraries, and yet, they operate just like any other school libraries
Persepsi Pemustaka dari Latar Belakang Sosial yang Berbeda terhadap Fungsi Perpustakaan (Studi di Perpustakaan Kota Yogyakarta)
Nowadays, the existence of technology in the middle of the society does not only give the abundant information, but also causes confusion and boredom in searching for the information. Such situation also has influenced the society's demand with different social stratifications in their easiness of accessing the information. Yogyakarta City Library, which in fact is an information center for the whole society layers, is expected to be able to be a bridge for the impacts of technology existence in information searching process. This study aimed at finding out the influence of social environment in building perceptions towards the library functions and how the library functions were viewed by readers with different social stratifications. The method used in this study was the combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches with Concurrent Triangulation design, in which two approaches were used simultaneously. However, data gathering and data analysis processes were done separately. The respondents were fifty users selected through random sampling. The in-depth interview was done towards ten informants. The result of the study indicated that social environment was not only influential in building the society's perceptions towards the library functions, but also motivated the readers to visit the library. Besides, it was found out that there was the change regarding to the society's perceptions with different social backgrounds towards the library functions. Recently, a library has not only been viewed as a book storage or solely an information provider, but has also been viewed as a rare collections preserver, an amusement place, simply a spot for hanging out with friends, and a positive game facility among children and parents. In addition, a library has also been viewed as a successor of the education missions and as a medium for channeling the society's talent and creativity
MOTIVASI BERPRESTASI DAN PERCEPATAN KARIR PUSTAKAWAN AHLI DALAM PRESPEKTIF GENDER (Studi di Perpustakaan Universitas Gadjah Mada)
One of the most important elements in a library is librarians. The profession of librarians in Indonesia is divided into two. namely skilled and expert librarians. Based on the existing niles, the promotion of functional level of libraritms is achieved by credit rate collecfions without age and gender difference. As a result, the functional position of expert librarians can be done quicker and earlier to develop the careers. The achievemel/l motivation of the expert librarums at the Library of Gadjah Mada University in developing their career is imeresting to explore as it has 35 librarians.This is a qualitative study by using a descriptive analytical approach with in-depth interviews and direct observation to describe the characteristics of the study objects. The informants were expert librarians at GMU Library. The data were collected through librmy research, observations, interviews atUI documentation study and were anayzed qualitatively. The data analysis was conducted by reduction and display data, conclusion and verification.The result shows that the motivation to become a librarian exists after the informants worked in the library as they understand the advantages of librarian position. The motivation of achievemem qllibrarians may be caused by the challenges, happiness etc. The motivation may also comeji-om themselves and the influences ql outside factors such as supervisors' encourt1gement, fimt ily and environment support.The barriers mostly found among librarians were the ability to write scientific writings.untidy and lazy. Meanwhile, the dual role is not a barrier because of time management and familysupport.There are different motivations af achievement among male and female librarians. The female librarians show more development. In fact, there are more female librarians who have a responsibility to manage faculty libraries. The high educational level of female librarians may provide high motivation on themselves
Strategi Pengelolaan Unit Penunjang Universitas Perpustakaan Universitas Gadjah Mada 'Yogyakarta (Strategy of Management of Gadjah Mada University Libraries Yogyakarta)
Gadjah Mada University Libraries are expected to provide a better fast, easy and efficient service. In the past few years, there were some changes at the Gadjah Mada University Libraries; moreover Gadjah Mada University is stated to be a research university so that the library service quality must be improved. To identify the strategy of management of Gadjah Mada University Libraries with the current changes of the library environment. This is a qualitative research based on the collaboration between the research and subject of the research using 12 people to be purposive sampling consisting of some librarians and stakeholders. The Research instruments are interview and analysis of the second data.
Due to of the change of the Organizational structure of Gadjah Mada University Libraries as stated in Rector's decree no. 259/P/SK/HT/2004 which stated that Gadjah Mada University Libraries are under Rector directly and the Libraries had to adapt their mission with the mission and the strategy of the university management. The most expected value of the strategy of management is the commitment of the Rector so that the facility will increase the role of the libraries as the information resources of can be optimum. The applied strategy is a growing strategy to develop the integrated and digital service and to the support university as a research university. Some changes are happening and the perceptions of the stakeholders showed that the strategy of the libraries management must be changed to improve the service quality of Gadjah Mada University libraries. The Commitment is to develop library with the change of the external and internal environment; to increase the quality of the human resources and to decrease the weakness as minimum as possible.

PERSEPSI PEMAKAI TERHADAP KUALITAS PELAYANAN TERBITAN BERKALA DI PERPUSTAKAAN PASCASARJANA UGM
Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan Persepsi Pemakai Terhadap Kualitas Pelayanan Terbitan Berkala di Perpustakaan Pascasarjana Universitas Gadjah Mada. Permasalahan yang dikaji dalam skripsi ini adalah persepsi pemakai terhadap kualitas layanan terbitan berkala di Perpustakaan Pascasarjana UGM. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui persepsi pemakai terhadap pelayanan terbitan berkala di Perpustakaan Pascasarjana Universitas Gadjah Mada. Dalam pembahasan ini digunakan teori servqual dari Parasuraman. Sementara analisisnya dengan menggunakan lima dimensi kualitas layanan yaitu dimensi bukti fisik, dimensi keandalan, dimensi daya tanggap, dimensi jaminan, dan dimensi empati. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan maksud untuk menggambarkan persepsi pemakai terhadap kualitas pelayanan terbitan berkala. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan angket dan wawancara. Responden penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa S2 sejumlah 100 responden. Berdasarkan hasil olah data masing—masing variabel dimensi persepsi pemakai terhadap pelayanan terbitan berkala sebagai berikut: variabel dimensi fisik sebesar 4,18 dimensi kehandalan sebesar 3,98 dimensi daya tanggap sebesar 4,11 dimensi jaminan sebesar 3,72 dimensi empati sebesar 4,18 Ada dua dimensi yang paling rendah nilainya yaitu dimensi kehandalan sebesar 3,98 dan dimensi jaminan sebesar 3,72 Mengingat nilai total rata-rata variabel persepsi pemakai adalah 4,03, maka persepsi pemakai terhadap kualitas layanan terbitan berkala di Perpustakaan Pascasarjana Universitas Gadjah Mada adalah baik.

MOTIVASI MAHASISWA MENJADI ANGGOTA PERPUSTAKAAN UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA
Pada dasarnya perpustakaan adalah perpaduan antara manusia, tempat, dan informasi. Perpustakaan UGM merupakan sumber informasi guna menunjang terlaksanya Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Adapun penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi apa yang mendorong mahasiswa menjadi anggota Perpustalcaan UGM.
Penelitian dilaltukan di Perpustakaan Universitas Gadjah Mada, Gedung Unit II Sekip, pada bagian layanan Kartu Anggota Perpustakaaan. Pada tahun 2006, terdapat 1.674 orang mahasiswa tercatat sebagai anggota perpustakaan. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 200 orang dengan metode aksidental. Jenis penelitian adalah survei dengan pendekatan deslcriptif kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi. Uji validitas menggunakan rumus Product Moment, uji reliabilitasnya dengan menggunakan rumus Alpha Cronbach, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan analisis Anova. Analisis data menggunakan Program SP SS versi 12 for windows.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, motivasi mahasiswa untuk menjadi anggota Perpustakaan Universitas Gadjah Mada, yaitu motivasi ektrinsik dan motivasi intrinsik, motivasi mahasiswa positif dan signifikan. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh nilai F hitung sebesar 33,303 dan signifikansi 0,05, sedangkan nilai value atau tingkat signifikansi 0,000 ( lebih kecil dari 0,05 atau 5%). Disamping itu terdapat penilaian kurang baik dari mahasiswa yaitu pada aspek promosi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut maka dapat direkomendasikan kepada perpustakaan supaya lebih meningkatkan kualitas layanan dan promosinya, sehingga dapat meningkatkan motivasi mahasiswa untuk menjadi anggota perpustakaan.

SIKAP MAHASISWA TERHADAP FASILITAS DAN PELAYANAN PERPUSTAKAAN UNIVERSITAS ATMA JAYA YOGYAKARTA
The objectives of the study on attitude are: (l) to investigate the attitude of the students toward thefacilities and theservices of Atma Jaya Yogtakarta University library and (2) to uncover the difference in the attitude of the students majoring in exact disciplines and those majoring in non-exact ones toward the facilities and the services of the Atma Jaya Yogyakarta University library. The study is conducted in the Atma Jaya Yogyakarta University with 200 samples as respondents. They consist of 100 degree students majoring in exact disciplines and 100 degree students majoring in nonexact disciplines. The analysis of the study is quantitative-descriptively conducted and the method employed is of applied
statistics one. Subsequently, the analysis and the hypothesis are examined using one-way ANOVA.The result of the study shows that: (1) the attitude of the students toward the facilities of the Atma Jaya Yogtakarta University library tends to be both positive and negative in general. There are 4.5% of the 200 respondents having negative attitude, 4 t .5% having the tendency of negative attitude, 49.5% having the tendency of positive attitude; and (2) the attitude of the students toward the service of the Atma Jaya yogtakarta University library tends to be positive in general. There are 2% of the 200 respondents having negative attitude, 18% having the tendency of negative attitude, 60% having the tendency of positive
attitude, 19.5% having positive attitude and 0.5oh having very positive attitude; (3) there is a significant dffirence in attitude between the students majoring in exact disciplines and those majoring in non-exact disciplines toward the facilities and the services of the Atma Jaya Yogtakarta University library. The student majoring in non-exact disciplines have more positive attitude thqn those majoring in exact disciplines; and (4) there is a significant diference in the attitude between the students majoring in exact disciplines and those majoring in non-exact disciplines. The difference in attitude is found especially in the services of information tracing and copying. The attitude of the students majoring in exact disciplines is more positives than those majoring in non-exact disciplines toward the two services.

PERANAN PERPUSTAKAAN DALAM1VIENINGKATKAN MINAT BACA MASYARAKAT: Survei pada Perpustakaan Umum Kotamadya Jakarta Selatan =THE ROLE OF THE LIBRARY IN IMPROVING THE READING HABIT OF SOCIETY :Survey at public library of South Jakarta district
Library has social and education functions. The existence of South Jakarta public library cannot be separated from these functions. On the other hand, the reading habit of people need to be improved. The problems to be investigated thus center on the role of the public library in improving the reading habit of society.
This research tries to explore the role of public library in improving the reading habit of society. In compliance with survey method emphazising on descriptive analysis, this research studies 232 respondents. The result of the study indicates that statistically significant influences apply on the role of public library in improving the reading habit : for each variables (X,) 0.02
Studi Ergonomi tentang Keluhan-keluhan Fisik yang Dialami Karyawan di Unit Perpustakaan Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta
In carrying out the activities at the library needed a comfort, safety and job security in order to create a condition that is in line with expectations and make history in enjoying what will be done. To create an environment and atmosphare is influenced by temperature, humidity, air circulation, lighting, mechanical vibration, color, ordor, and a number of tools used to support the activities of the library includes tables, ahairs, shelves, cabinets, atc. Furniture or equipment use in the library must also be designed so that a safe and compfortable when used. This study aims to determine the grievances suffered by employees (librarian. This study is a quantitative research approach to ergonomics so that the methods used include: (1) observation by direct observation, (2) interview were conducted using a questionnaire sheet Nordi Body Map and (3) documentation. The results obtained from this study: (1) in the upper body 70% complained of pain in the shoulders and neck, 50 % left shoulder , right shoulder 55 % , and 45 % on the left arm. (2) the body of the middle 60 % complained of back pain , 50 % in the upper right arm , 60 % pain in the waist , 20 % on the buttocks , 15 % on the buttocks , the left elbow 25 % , 20 % right elbow , 30 % below the left arm , forearm 25 % right, 35 % left wrist , right wrist 45 % , 30 % and 40 % left hand right hand. (3) in the lower body as much as 20 % complained of pain in the left thigh , right thigh 20 % , 30 % left knee , right knee 25 % , 35 % left calf , calf 35 % right, 20 % left ankle , 30 % on the right ankle , 20 % of the left leg and 25 % pain in the right foot . It can be concluded that most of the employees (librarians) complained of pain in the right side of the body member
Persepsi Mahasiswa Terhadap Komunikasi non Verbal Perpustakaan STIKES Aisyiyah Yogyakarta
Developments in information technology have an impact on librarian non-verbal communication in providing their library services. Many verbal communication is not effective because the communicator does not use non-verbal communication well. It also occurs in STIKES Aisyiyah Yogyakarta , which encourages authors to conduct research deskripstif . Sampling was done randomly , by 10.5 % from 2471 people, which is 260 students. Caputo opinion is used to determine the perceptions of students in non-verbal communication can be shown with five things, namely : 1. Facial expressions and eye contact when communicating , 2. Expressions hand, 3. Expressions position, 4. Voice expression, and 5. Expressions physical appearance. The results showed that students' perceptions of librarian non-verbal communication in STIKES Aisyiyah Yogyakarta is " not good", indicated by the value of 2.98 (scale 1-4), so it needs to be an effort to improve it
