Application of Magneto-optical Characteristic in Liquid: Verdet Constant as Quality Indicator of Repeatedly Cooking Oil
The Faraday Effect is a magnetooptical phenomenon in physics describing the interaction of light and magnetic fields in a medium. A parameter that indicates the interaction is the Verdet constant. In this research, Verdet constant was measured on cooking oil that has been used several times. Magneto-optical properties were measured using the polarimetry method, which uses a He-Ne Laser beam with a magnetic field treatment of 50 gauss, 80 gauss and 100 gauss. The samples analyzed were bulk and non-bulk cooking oil. Repeated use of cooking oil causes a change in the polarization axis of the polarized laser. This has an impact on the Verdet constant of the material. The difference in the Verdet constant shows that the Verdet constant can be used as an indicator of cooking oil that has been used up to three times
The Assessment of Climate Change Impact on Meteorological Draught Susceptability on Sampean Watershed
Drought disasters that occur in the Sampean watershed from time to time have increased, both the intensity of events and the area affected by drought. The general objective of this research is to develop an assessment method for the impact of climate chan ge on vulnerability to drought disasters based on atmospheric circulation data. The specific objectives of this study are to model rainfall predictions based on atmospheric circulation data, predict rainfall in various climate change scenarios (Intergovernm ental Panel on Climate Change, IPCC – AR5), and assess vulnerability to drought disasters using a meteorological approach. The Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) is one way to analyze the drought index in an area which was developed previous researcher. The Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) is designed to quantitatively determine the rainfall deficit with various time scales. The advantage of the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) is that it is enough to use monthly rainfall data to compare drou ght levels between regions even with different climate types. To facilitate the presentation of the data base on the identification of d rought susceptibility, we need a system that can assist in building, storing, managing and displaying geographically ref erenced information in the form of spatial mapping. This research facilitates monitoring of the area of drought-prone areas, predicts drought levels, prevents future drought disasters, and prepares plans for rebuilding drought-prone areas in the Sampean watershed
Designing A 3-Dimensional Campus Brochure Application Based On Augmented Reality
STMIK Umel Mandiri as one of the universities in Jayapura is still less well known, apart from being relatively new in its age and the location of the campus building which is blocked by buildings. So that people sometimes do not know the exact location of the campus. To promote the campus, one of the advertising media used is brochures. Along with current technological developments, augmented reality technology has emerged which is able to combine 2 (two) realities, namely the real and virtual world. When used in brochures, it can provide a feel and experience for readers. So that promoting goods or services can be done more interactively, as well as providing more information to consumers about the product. This augmented reality technology is then used as a solution to the problems faced by STMIK Umel Mandiri in promoting its educational institutions. The purpose of this research is to produce an android application that can display a 3 (three) dimensional brochure model by utilizing augmented reality technology so that it can help the public to get to know the campus to be chosen well. The research method has several stages, namely collecting data about the needs of prospective new students regarding information about the STMIK Umel Mandiri campus, then making a 3 (three) dimensional model of the STMIK Umel Mandiri Campus Building. Then next, do the design of compatible augmented reality on smartphone devices using the Android operating system, and produce 3 (three) dimensional augmented reality objects. This research produces an application based on augmented reality technology that is used to help promote the STMIK Umel Mandiri Campus through devices with the android operating system
Water Allocation Efforts with Water Balance Analysis in the Jatiroto Sub-Watershed and Asem Sub Watershed, Lumajang Districts
Currently, water demand is increasing, both domestic, industrial and agricultural water needs. However, the increase in water demand is not due to an increase in the water availability due to changes in land use and other factors that pose a threat to increased exploitation of water resources. So it is necessary to analyze and evaluate the water needs to anticipate the impact of drought in the Asem-Tekung-Jatirowo sub watersheds. The calculation of water supply and water demand can be carried out using the water balance method, assisted by the WEAP (Evaporation and Water Planning) program, through data integration of streamflow analysis and water user in the river reach. The results showed that the sub-watershed area showed a deficit of water in 2013, with the Jatiroto region having the highest air deficit of 1.58 million m3 or 44.2%. Based on this analysis, urgently needed a recommendation of drought anticipation strategies these are planting patterns to adjust condition of water supply, storage of water reserves, conservation of critical land, and repair of channels that are at risk of water seepage
Growth of Lactobacillus casei FNCC0900 in Media Based Umbi Porang Plant (Amorphophallus muelleri BI.)
Porang tuber (Amorphophallus muellerii BI.) Is a type of tuber that has a high enough glucomannan content of 67%. Glucomannan is very difficult to digest by humans directly so it takes the role of probiotics. L. casei bacteria FNCC0900 as a probiotic agent capable of utilizing glucomannan as a carbon source for growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth pattern and changes in environmental factors, namely the pH value of the probiotic bacteria L. casei FNCC0900 growth medium. The parameters in this study consisted of the highest cell density, generation time and pH value changes in Glucose Yeast Peptone Liquid Media, Porang Boiled Water Media and Porang Flour Liquid Media using the drop plate method which had 4 repeated calculations. Porang Boiled Water Liquid Media has a faster log phase period with a higher cell density than Porang Flour Liquid Media, but the shortest generation time is found in Porang Flour Liquid Media with the highest number of generations. L. casei FNCC0900 bacteria are more able to reduce the pH of Glucose Yeast Peptone Liquid Media compared to porang tuber-based media, so in this case L. casei FNCC0900 can be stated to be able to grow on porang tuber-based media with growth patterns, generation time, cell density and pH value. which varies

TiO2-rGO Composite for Photocatalytic Decolorization of Methylene Blue Under the Visible Light Illumination
Titanium dioxide-reduced graphene oxide (TiO2-rGO) was synthesized by hydrothermal method using TiO2 powder and rGO precursor from graphite rod by modified Marcano Method. The obtained TiO2-rGO photocatalyst was characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), and Diffuse reflectance UV (DRUV). Based on XRD diffractogram, it is known that TiO2 has an anatase crystal phase. In the FTIR spectrum, it was observed that there was an absorption peak at the wavenumber of 1630 cm-1 from the vibration (C=C) as an indication that the C atom was incorporated into the TiO2 structure. The incorporation of C atoms into the TiO2 structure to form TiO2-rGO causes the bandgap energy to decrease from 3.29 eV to 3.20 eV. The photocatalytic activity was tested against decolorization of methylene blue solution for 180 minutes under visible light illumination from a 50 watt LED lamp. Every 10 minutes, absorbance was measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 664 nm. TiO2-rGO photocatalyst has better photocatalytic activity with %D of 96.39% under UV light and 84.32% under visible light illumination, while TiO2 is only able to degrade 93.87% and 36.55%, respectively
Information System Security Audit Based on the DSS05 Framework Cobit 5 at Higher Education XX
Currently, information has become a commodity or basic need, it can even be said that we are already in an "information-based social" era. It is undeniable that the ability to access and ensure the availability of information quickly and accurately has become a very essential component for an organization, whether in the form of social or commercial organizations, educational institutions such as universities, government agencies, and individuals. Various channels were created to regulate access rights to information, to prevent unauthorized people from accessing it, to minimize losses for the owner of the information. Based on the results of interviews with the research object of XX college, there are still frequent disruptions to information system security such as attacks on servers that result in server downtime, attacks on institutional e-mails that result in being unable to receive or even send e-mails, and other disturbances. This certainly harms information services at the tertiary institution, therefore an information system security audit is required. This study aims to measure the level of information system security capabilities using the Cobit 5 framework in the APO13 and DSS05 domains. Based on the results of the audit, it was found that the GAP value was 3.6 for the APO13 domain or at level 1 while 3.4 for the GAP DSS05 value or at level 2, it can be concluded that the information system security maturity level is still very low so that it needs improvement. It is recommended to make SOPs and documentation of maintenance, control, and periodic security evaluation, install an antivirus that has high and up to date protection accuracy, and make regular maintenance reports both on software and hardware
