    Test Of Bio-Activator Model with Natural Zeolite from South Sulawesi As Filter Media and Adsorbents Heavy Metal Pb, Ni, and Cu

    The purpose of this study is how the characterization of natural zeolite South Sulawesi and how the ability of zeolite as filter media and adsorbents to reduce the heavy metal lead ( Pb ), Nickel (Ni) and Copper (Cu) in the raw water . Zeolites in activation , given the warming that is: 100º C , 200º C , 300º C , and 400º C , then in the characterization by SEM and XRD. Subsequently smoothed with a 170 mesh size ( 3 mm ) , and weighed each one weighing 50 grams and incorporated into any model of Bio - Activators, respectively on the tube , 2 , 3 and 4. Raw water that has been injected with 5 ppm Pb, Ni, Cu heavy metal inserted into the reservoir, then piped or for running into the model to test the ability of zeolite as filter media and adsorbents . Results if the water was tested by means of AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectroscope), instrument test results obtained from the numbers the actual decrease in the concentration and absorbance . Results actual dcrease in the concentration and adsorbance for each heavy metals Pb, Ni and Cu are : -0.2119, -0.1112, and -0.2902. Model analysis is the method of Langmuir and Freudlich. This result is expected to provide new information about the characteristics of natural zeolite South Sulawesi and produced water treatment models are inexpensive and easy to obtain

    The Erythemato-Squamous Dermatology Diseases Severity Determination using Self-Organizing Map

    A new approach based on the implementation of Self Organizing Map is presented for automated detection of erythemato-squamous diseases. The purpose of clustering techniques is in order to determinate the severity of erythemato-squamous dermatology diseases. The studied domain contained records of patients with known diagnosis. Self-Organizing  Map algorithm's task was to classify the data points, in this case the patients with attribute data, to one of the six clusters (psoriasis, seboreic dermatitis, lichen planus, pityriasis rosea, cronic dermatitis, dan pityriasis rubra pilaris). The algorithm was used to detect the six erythemato-squamous diseases when 33 features defining five disease indications were used. The purpose is to determine an optimum classification scheme for this problem. The present research demonstrated that the features well represent the erythemato-squamous diseases and SOM algorithm's task achieved high classification accuracies. The best accuration for  psoriasis 85,94%, seboreic dermatitis 40,48%, lichen planus 56,25%, and pityriasis rosea 82,61%, with learning rate value were 0,1, 0,2, 0,9, and 0,

    Information and communication technology have become a very strategic aspect in supporting human life.  One of the aspects is in education, particularly the use of e-learning system. In the e-learning system, the use of multimedia (such as video conferencing) technology allows users to have an interactive meeting without having to see collocutor directly. In this system, each user communicates by using computer networks, either locally or through the internet. This trend has encouraged developers to create such applications online. However, most of them are paid application and less convenient to use. This research developed an interactive e-learning system with features such as online quiz, whiteboard, video conference and VoIP. In this system, a web based e-learning system with video VoIP provides learning activities by the interaction of both parties that lecturers and students. This system enables the teacher and user to have an interactive conversation and to have quizzes in the middle of a class. This method is aimed to evaluate the students understanding of the materials currently presented. Delay and jitter value of this system increases along with the increase number of users. With the 15 users, the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) delay value reaching 32.3672 and 101.6028 ms for the jitter value. Furthermore with 15 users, the Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP0 delay value reached 51.8868 ms and 92.0052 ms for the jitter value

    Medical Breakthrough of Anthropometric Methods as Basis for 3D Digital Modelling of Indonesian Female Facial Type (Descriptive-analytic-applied Study)

    Three dimension (3D) face model based on anthropometric data is used as facial plastic surgery simulation, which can be used for setting up a pre-surgery communication between a surgeon and his patient. All this time, Indonesian plastic surgeons have made preoperative and intraoperative evaluation based on the patient’s aesthetic sense or desire, and the surgeon’s operative technique preferences referring to subjective visual “landmark” and Caucasian parameters instead of referring to parameters of the normal Indonesian face which have not yet been established until now. The research objective is creating 3D digital modeling of the Indonesian facial type, which will provide useful reference points speedily, accurately and efficiently, in facial aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery and other interdisciplinary fields. The Methods is an applied study using anthropometric data as basis for formulation of 3D digital modeling of Indonesian facial type, performed 17-25 years old students without history of facial reconstruction and orthodontics. The first step was to distribute questioners to obtain criteria of normal and attractive female faces. Lateral cephalometric, photometric; direct anthropometric and photography were performed. Then the analysis results were applied to 3D modeling programs to make the Indonesian facial type digital geometry overview. Furthermore, the image was interpreted by an expert before concluding the end result. The results are description of distinguishing parameters between normal and attractive groups by discriminant test included nasal bridge index, binocular width, nasal tip protrusion, mouth width index. According to cephalometry and photometry results, the Indonesian face was more convex than the Caucasian face. Anthropometric, photometric and lateral cephalometric measurements played a significant role in differentiating the Indonesian face between normal and attractive also from faces of other races. 3D digital woman models can serve as instruments for characterizing normal and attractive faces visually

Will specifically examined the role of the Jacobian elliptic function Cn and Sn in the formulation of the dispersion relation to determine the type of guided modes in a nonlinear waveguide structure of five layers, which are based on the effective refractive index relation to the variation of the electric field at the boundary of two media waveguide region. There are 3 types of guided modes, namely mode symmetry, asymmetry, and antisimentri. The greater the effective refractive index is given, allowing more conditions for the value of the electric field . The dispersion equation shows a very flexible and general expression because it can be applied to the waveguides multilayer having symmetric or asymmetric structure

    Development of a Microfluidic Device to Improve Microfiltration Process

    When neutrally buoyant particles are subjected in laminar and continuous flow, one can observe that particles generally migrate across the streamlines in a particular way. Such lateral motion called “tubular-pinched effect” causes particles tend to migrate toward micro channel wall. The origin of this motion is due to the parabolic nature of the laminar velocity profile in Poiseuille flow. This phenomenon produces a shear-induced inertial lift forces which allows the scattered particles focused and form narrow annulus near the wall. The focalization of particles could improve the method of separation process by using microfiltration. Then, micro porous membrane is used for microfiltration which filters focused particles from a fluid by passage through it. In this work, we use this lift forces generated in laminar microfluidic systems to focus randomly distributed particles continuously. The form of particles deposition poon micro porous membrane hence was observed to determine the important parameter influencing the equilibrium position of the particles. A numerical simulation (COMSOL Multiphysics ®) has also first been developed to study the influence of channel and on the subsequent size of annulus formed by the focused particles on the membrane

       Concentration of this study is to create a Specimens model of Joint Interior Beam - Column using Partial Prestressed Concrete Beams elements connected with Reinforced Concrete Column. Design capacity of Beam- Column Joint Shear is the horizontal shear reinforcement in the form of stirrups Æ 10-50 mm to fill the empty space bj = 288 mm . The capacity Shear that can be deployed by the cross bar = 103.62 kN. Total shear force that is capable of detained by the beam-column joint structures are Vjh = 409 kN. This study is a continuation of research SRPMK models shaped beam - column joint with beam section 250/400 mm , and the column section 400/400 mm , the source of funds from Research Ditlitabmas Decentralization Program of Higher Education , through ITS Featured Research Grant in 2013 .  Experimental studies have been conducted with Cyclic loading ( pseudo dynamic ) lateral , static axial load on the column as a stabilizer . Specimens ability to withstand Ultimate Lateral Cyclic Load : conditions Load push (press) = 470.90 kN and Load Pull = 465.80 kN. Everything is > 409 kN.Ductility structure also qualified in 3.50% Drift Ratio: Conditions Press m = 1.27 > 1.20, Pull Conditions m = 1.29 > 1.20. In general, behavioral modeling structure has qualified as a reliable protection occupancy when the building was hit by an earthquake

However, the motors which are commonly used, such as induction motors and DC motors, have not been able to meet the need. Therefore, a new model with efficiency System and energy consumption using simulated software "MATLAB ® or Simulink®" is made. This model includes battery, power electronics converters, electric motors, and transmission systems. In this case the energy system during regenerative braking breaking is also taken into account. The result of the efficiency value of the batteries, inverter, electric motor and the total efficiency value of the overall system is gathered from the control Brushless Motor (BLDC) models HHDB 350-1000 Watt and some batteries type  SOC with capacity 34-48 Ah used

    Utilization of Fertilizers for Improving The Process Rate of Organic Material Degradation in Anaerobic Reactor

    This study aimed to assess utilization of fertilizers as nutrient in the anaerobic reactor. Nutrient is one important characteristic of waste for the treatment. Nutrient is required for the growth and reproduction process of microorganisms which involved in the anaerobic process. The wastewater used in this research is tofu wastewater. Gandasil B fertilizer has N 6 mg/l and P 20 mg/l. While for Gandasil D fertilizer has N 20 mg/l and P 15mg/l. Anaerobic reactor has 1000 ml of capacity which contain 600 ml of wastewater, 100 ml of liquid fertilizer, and 300 ml of space blank. Anerobic reactor observed for 14 days with 5 observed parameters. Those parameters are TSS, VSS, COD, N, and P. After 14 days, added of Gandasil B fertilizer decreased the concentration of TSS, VSS, COD, N, and P amounted to 57,56%, 26,84%, 80,08%, 96,75%, and 93,18%. compared to the 0th day. While the addition of Gandasil D fertilizer decreased the parameters amounted to 3,48%, 6,21%, 86,72%, 58,10%, and 90,78%. In conclusion, Gandasil B fertilizer in the anaerobic reactor improves the rate of organic material degradation more effectively than Gandasil D fertilizer.Keywords - Anaerobic reactor, COD, fertilizer, N, nutrient, P, TSS, VS

    The Design Process for Entrapping Limonin and Naringin in Siam Juice by Cyclodextrin

    Siam juice contain limonin and naringin that produce a bitter taste although these compounds useful  as an antioxidant and anticancer. Bitter taste in juice is unfavor for consumer. The purpose of this research was to find the best conditions in reducing bitter taste in Siam juice by using cyclodextrin and cellulose acetate. These research performed at variation of mixing temperature  (27; 60 and 80ºC), cyclodextrin concentration (0.1; 0.3 and 0.5% (w/v)) and cellulose acetate ( 0.2; 0.4 and 0.6% (w / v)). The results showed that the use of cyclodextrin and cellulose acetate were able to trap limonin and naringin. The higher reducing limonin juice was 91.57% by addition cyclodextrin 0.1% at 60ºC, whereas for naringin obtain by addition cellulose acetate 0.5% at 79.69% . At this temperature, the juice quality (vitamin C) can be maintained.
