Results of the investigation show that the core material suitable for the sandwich panel is synthetic resin with composition of 50% resin,50% talc and 0.3% catalyst. The density of the material is 1,728 kg/m3, tensile strength is 24.75 Mpa, modulus of elastisity is 546.95 Mpa, and shear modulus is 273.48 Mpa.

Excavation Analysis using Stress Path Dependent Soil Parameters

    Get PDF
This paper presents numerical analyses of an excavation using stress path dependent soil parameters, where soil elements in a region of an excavation are represented by specific soil parameters that correspond to their specific stress paths. The performance of the M1 excavation pit in Berlin sand was selected as the analysed case. This excavation pit was supported by diaphragm-wall with a single row of pre-stressed anchors. The numerical analyses of the excavation were performed using finite element program PLAXIS 3D. Mohr-Coulomb model and Hardening Soil model were used as the soil constitutive models. The analyses were performed using two approaches, which are: (i) analysis using axial compression soil parameters, and (ii) analysis using stress path dependent soil parameters. A set of conversion ratios were employed to convert the general soil parameters (i.e. axial compression stress path) to the soil parameters of the other stress paths. These conversion ratios were obtained from an experimental program of true triaxial tests conducted on Bangka sand. The comparison of the field records and the analysis results were discussed. The results show that the stress path dependent approach produced better prediction of diaphragm-wall deformation compare to the general approach using axial compression soil parameters

    Get PDF
The traditional house is able to adapt the climate around them and it can reduce the burden of energy use to adjust the comfort of occupants. The development pattern of occupants’ activity adjusts to a modern life that indirectly affects the function and condition of the building. This gives rise to a new phenomenon, whether development sheath openings in buildings can still meet the needs of lighting for the activity of the occupants. This research was conducted with the aim to clarify and identify the deployment sheath openings in buildings on the performance of natural lighting in Betang House. The method experiment with the help simulation is used to find a causal relationship from deployment sheath openings in Betang House building performance against natural lighting. The experiment is conducted with the simulation using Autodesk Ecotect Analysis 2011. The final result of the research indicates deployment openings in the façade have natural lighting performance that already meet the standards of the lighting for the activity. Deployment openings with the addition of extents openings could increase illuminantion and daylight factor space by 10% and 14%, but the value of the resulting illuminantion uniformity is not too high. The addition of height can increase the value of daylight factor of 13%. The ratio of lighting uniformity additional height opening is higher, but that resulted being lower illuminantion 0.3%. Rumbak tahansengan deployment at facade can improve the ratio of the lighting uniformity for activity up to 9.6%
