Experimental Study on Hydrocarbon Liquids Migration in Double-Porosity Medium Using Digital Image Analysis
The development activity of the country has played a part in natural disasters and climate change such as earthquake, El-Nino, tsunamis and water pollution have caused negative impact on human health and geo-environment. More complicated problems arise when the subsurface has experienced earthquake vibration, which no doubt influences the migration of hydrocarbon liquid into the groundwater sources. These problems need to be addressed in ensuring sustainable groundwater utilization. This paper aims to study the characteristics of hydrocarbon liquid migration that are important for the remediation cleanup of contaminated groundwater. The danger of reproductive toxic hydrocarbon chemicals has made actual on-site study infeasible and has been more practically replaced by physical model simulations. For this purpose, a physical laboratory experimental study was conducted to investigate the pattern and characteristics of different quantity toluene hydrocarbon migration in double-porosity medium under the vibration effect by using digital image analysis. The results of the experiments show that lower quantity of toluene hydrocarbon will take longer time to migrate to the bottom compared to higher quantity of toluene hydrocarbon. During experiment, air bubbles were continuously observed at the soil surface of toluene reducing due to the wettability of the liquids in the soil sample and the air trapped between the fractured aggregate and intra-inter aggregate pores. Glycerol Acetylation Using Magnesium Fluoride Catalyst to Produced DAG and TAG
Glycerol acetylation with acetic acid using magnesium fluoride catalyst have been investigated. Magnesium fluoride catalyst was prepared by sol-gel method with ethanol as gelating agent. The glycerol acetylation produced monoacetylglyceride (MAG), diacetylglyceride (DAG) and triacetylglyceride (TAG). The catalytic reaction carried out by thermal methods reflux under ambient conditions. The influence of reaction conditions such as the reaction time on the product distribution was investigated. The optimum of glycerol conversion was achieved at 5 hours of reaction time by 78.34% with selectivity of 30, 62 and 8% for MAG, DAG and TAG respectively. The reaction route over magnesium fluorides was observed by product as reactants, gradually. The results showed that the acetylation reaction of glycerol occurs via a parallel route to the first, followed by the consecutive route to produce DAG and TAG
Prospek Pengembangan Pengelolaan Infrastruktur Pelabuhan Non-Komersil di Kawasan Timur Indonesia
Pengembangan pengelolaan pelabuhan non-komersil khususnya di Kawasan Timur Indonesia (KTI) merupakan salah satu hal penting dalam mendorong percepatan pengembangan infrastruktur pelabuhan di wilayah tersebut. Dalam konteks ini, studi ini bertujuan memetakan potensi-potensi pelabuhan non-komersil di Kawasan Timur Indonesia dalam rangka melihat sejauhmana prospek pengelolaan infrastruktur pelabuhan-pelabuhan tersebut dapat dikembangkan. Pendekatan Analisis Multi-Kriteria (AMK) digunakan pada studi ini, untuk menganalisis berbagai aspek fungsi dan pelayanan pelabuhan non-komersil, yang meliputi aspek-aspek: teknis, transportasi, wilayah, ekonomi, dan legalitas. Hasil analisis memperlihatkan bahwa terdapat keragaman keunggulan dan kekurangan antar pelabuhan untuk dapat dikembangkan pengelolaannya. Aspek ekonomi mendominasi keterbatasan pelabuhan-pelabuhan non-komersil di Kawasan Timur Indonesi untuk dikembangkan pengelolaannya secara komersil, disamping aspek legalitas baik secara struktur organisasi pengelolaan maupun legalitas lahan pengembangan infrastruktur. Prioritas pengembangan pelabuhan UPP (Unit Pelayanan Pelabuhan) di KTI menjadi pelabuhan Badan Layanan Umum (BLU) berdasarkan penilaian ahli (kepakaran), ketersediaan fasilitas pelabuhan dan sarana penunjang lainnya serta aspek administrasi pelabuhan terdiri atas 3 tingkatan prioritas. Pelabuhan-pelabuhan UPP di Pulau Kalimantan menjadi Pelabuhan UPP yang dominan mempunyai prospek untuk dikembangkan menjadi Pelabuhan BLU. Diperlukan studi lebih lanjut terhadap pelabuhan sejenis di kawasan lainnya di Indonesia untuk menemukenali berbagai varian model pengembangan pengelolaan infrastruktur pelabuhan non-komersil di Indonesia
A planning model for creative industry zone-producer of clothes used as cultural tourism product Case study in the area of Tuan Kentang 15 Ulu Palembang
Creative industry has a significant contibution in increasing economy because it can create positive atmosphere in tourism sector. The area of Tuan Kentang 15 Ulu - Palembang is one of creative industry zones from fashion subsector which produces Jumputan and Tajung clothes which are known by many people. As one of tourism products based on creative industry, the area of Tuan Kentang has possessed five charateristics of creative tourism, i.e, tourists become part of the tourism progress, the existence of participative learning, interactive, informal, limited products, and has something to do with the local people. However, there were so many constraints, such as lack of planning and facilities needed for tourism development in this area. This influences the number of visitors coming to this area. By doing this research, there will be model of planning for creative industry zone which produces a number of clothes as an effort to improve the quality of the area and culture in Palembang. This research used descriptive qualitative and quantitative as a method in analyzing. The products of tourism by using scoring range for the products through participative place making approach. There were some stages in analyzing the data, that is by using likert scale and SWOT analysis. The result of this research composed factors and facilities that used to be created in a creative industry area, which could determine and develop the planning for tourism area based on creative industry in Indonesia
Tunnel and Microtunnel For Future Smart and Sustainable Infrastructure Solution
Underground facilities and tunnels is not a rare discussion anymore. More and more underground explorations were carried out as to fulfil the need of mankind. Manual Validation and Calibration Method for All-or-Nothing Traffic Assignment
Transport Modelling is capital for transportation planning. All-or-Nothing Traffic Assignment is used quite a lot. The model can not be considered valid without passing through validation and calibration process. A validation and calibration method, for the all-or-nothing traffic assignment, need to be developed. The research produced simple practical validation and calibration method. The calculated model traffic volumes are compared against the real traffic volumes. Simple validation method was developed by just setting a maximum allowable error, measured in precentage. Simple calibration method consists of correcting the model traffic volume by correcting the corresponding OD Matrix cell values. The calibration consists of 4 basic tasks : 1. identifying the traffic volume need to be calibrated, 2. identifying corresponding OD matrix cells corresponding to the traffic volume need to be calibrated, 3. distributing traffic volume error to the coresponding OD matrix cells, and 4. developing the calibrated OD matrix. Validation and Calibration are a pair of an iterative process
Sustainable fisherman settlement development
Sustainability theory is considered important in the world. The theory has evolved the paradigm of architecture design to the level where it has reconsidering the environment, social and economic. However, the sustainable architecture development plan often implemented from a partial sustainable development theories. This research will discuss the theories of sustainable development that take a place in fisherman settlement area. The fisherman settlement is chosen as the context due to the vulnerability of the area in Indonesia, which showed by the government policy regarding the fisherman settlement. The theoretical study will cover general sustainable development concept to sustainable housing and settlement theories especially in fisherman settlement. A Review on Maximum Productivity of Land Use in Urban Project Development
The Regional Budget Fiscal Year of Surabaya in 2017 is IDR 8,561,848,147,400, where Regional Revenue (PAD) is projected as much as IDR 4,212,569,176,921 along with Regional Wealth Management IDR 166,311,576,799. That revenue is derived from the activity of managing land asset. The total assets of Surabaya is currently 60,115,651.23 m2, where 84% of the area already has its land use, and 937,911.35 m2 or 0,56% is used for commercial use. Some of the assets are not optimally used for PAD yet. The city loses its opportunity in gaining maximal revenue because the assets are not developed properly, where the assets are mostly located in the main corridor of the city or primary artery. Highest and Best Use (HBU) analysis is found to be one of important technique in finding best alternative to be used in developing vacant land and existed improved property. This study analyzes the HBU practices in developing the government assets of Surabaya, especially the area that is placed near the riverside. Literature review and in depth interview to stakeholders are used to obtain data. The data is then analyzed by using descriptive analysis. Based on analysis, it is found that mixed use commercial building come out as best alternative in developing the assets
Konsep Pemodelan Durasi dan Volume Parkir untuk Berbagai Tata Guna Lahan di Kota Surabaya
Both parking fee and parking tax are the potential income for most local authorities in Indonesia since they are considered as the parts of of local authority’s revenue (Pendapatan Asli Daerah, PAD). However, currently many local authorities including that in Surabaya has a problem in determining target as well as the achievement of annual parking revenue. This situation takes place due to the lack of reliable method to estimate the parking revenue including both parking fee and parking tax either on-street parking nor off-street parking. Meanwhile, there are growing investments of public and private facilities in many capital cities of both regency and provincy including apartments, hotels, malls, campus, hospitals, convention buildings, terminals, offices, restaurants and mixed uses in which many parking spaces will be provided to support their activities later on. The providing of new parking spaces will therefore potentially contribute to the local authorities’s revenue as the consequnces. Main variable to contribute the parking revenue are the number of parked vehicle as well as the parking duration (when progressive fee is applied). Both number of parked vehicle and parking durations for several landuses will be modelled in this Dissertation so that they can be used as references for estimating the anual parking revenue of local authotities as the part of local authorities revenue (PAD). Moreover, these models will be useful for parking facilities investors to analyse the their financial investment
Intact Stability Analysis of Crew Boat with Variation of Deadrise Angle
Abstract¾ As a supporter of offshore supply logistics operations, crew boat moving in high speed needs the hull design that is able to reduce the resistance but the stability is still good. The innovation of hull design carried out have to consider not only in aspect of safety and comfort, but also in aspect of cargo hold capacity. Therefore, this research will analyze the change of deadrise angle to the stability, cargo hold capacity, and resistance. The shift of weight and buoyancy point caused by the change of deadrise angle is calculated by block method. The calculation of cargo hold is carried out by integration of CSA curve. The calculation of ship stability is carried out by using the Krylov I method. If the stability varied by deadrise angle does still fulfill, the next analysis is the resistance. The resistance calculation uses Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The smallest resistance is occurred with deadrise angle 16 degrees which the magnitude is 144.741 kN in speed 24 knots. The output obtained from this research is a recommendation of hull design revealing that crew boat with deadrise angle 6 degrees have an enough cargo hold to take up payload and the stability still fulfills the IMO Regulation
