Palembang, having been one of the oldest city in Indonesia has inherited buildings that define an era. One of those remains are the traces of the colonial buildings in Palembang. The buildings that were built in those era are very predominant to it’s surrounding. The old Palembang area is divided with the 16 ilir in Palembang is an economic sector and the merdeka corridor is the government sector and also the Talang Semut area as a housing and settlement sector. This paper is about the traces of colonial building in the old colonial building in Palembang, represented with the Talang Semut area that have transformed into commercial places. The methods used in this study are using a visual research study to pinpoint the existing nature of the building and the transformation of the buildings as a result of changes in buildings function from settlements into micro commercial areas and also using space syntax analysis as a quantitative method to see how the streets have effected the transformation of the buildings. The transformation of Dutch and colonial places are found many in the colonial settlements in the city of Indonesia and have shaped the vibrant colors of cities in Indonesia. The Talang Semut area acts as one of the areas that transformed from settlements into micro economic, such as stores and culinary spots. The transformation of function have very much affected the visual expression of its original facade and therefore affected the character of the colonial housing settlements of Talang Semut in Palembang

Cost of solid waste management, in Malang City, can not be covered by retribution; therefore government has to subsidized. Solid waste management expense consist of TPS (temporary collection location/Tempat penampungan sementara) investment, operational/maintenance of TPS, wipe of general facility, transport from TPS to landfill and landfill treatment. This study suggest tariff retribution calculation model of solid waste mangement at Malang City. The proposed model integrate 2 method, they are Activity Based Costing (ABC) system and building type. Activity Based Costing (ABC) system is used to gather cost of waste management. While building type is used to put cost upon tariff retribution of waste management at Malang City. The early stages was to identify any activities that generate expenses in waste management. The next phase is determining the cost driver from each activites. The last step is devide amount retribution based on building type. The result from this study show that cost of street sweeping is Rp. 6.275,35/km; cost of transporting solid waste is Rp. 96.832,40/trip and cost of landfill treatment is Rp. 6.275,35/m3. After that, calculate based on solid waste generated each type building

Safety is a strategy to reduce the risk of major process accidents. The principle of a safety is to reduce the risk of fails and can be applied easily as the inherent safety. the research which assesses the safety and appeared have a lot of new methods. This study tried to summarize some of the existing methods. The study focused on the case of making methyl methacrylate (MMA) with acetone cyanohydrin (ACH). The processing manufacturing production is divided into four stages or routes. Which are production of hydrogen cyanide (HCN), acetone cyanohydrin (ACH), HMPSA/HMPSE and methyl methacrylate (MMA). Safety assessment is a stages with standardization. Standardization aims to ease look at the risk level of a route. Assessment standardization it produces characteristic safety assessment of the risk level. The level of these characteristics assess any level of danger when the process conditions of a factory. Each production process of the plant there are several production steps. The steps in the production process including preparation, reaction, separation and purification. Of these processes often occur a failure. Then table the characteristics of this suggested to simplify petrified assess how the level of security in the process. In research took a case of making MMA with ACH. The process of making this MMA has four step process HCN, ACH, HMPSA / HMPSE and MMA. The four steps greatest potential failure or hazard is found in the first step with the characteristic 'Moderate', the according to the characteristics of the proposed table

    Get PDF
Simulation has been well known as an effective technique that enables planning and analysis of a construction operation to be performed in advance anticipating problems of efficiencies that would occur in the implementation phase. Therefore, simulation technique could be used to design resources associated with a construction operation to be optimal and to analyze an ongoing operation to be evaluated and refined. This paper discusses the use of simulation to analyze several construction operations, i.e., bored piles, pile caps, piers, and girders, that will be used in building the Cinapel’s Bridge at the Cisumdawu Toll Road Project. The simulation using WebCYCLONE was utilized to determine the most optimal resources needed in each construction operation; resources needed to gain the highest productivity and the lowest wastes. Data of each operation for simulation were gathered from the field, as well as opinions from the practitioners related to the project. The results of the simulation are presented and recommendations are made for the contractor to refine the on-going construction operations as well as to design construction operations before the implementation in the fields
