Taxiway Pavement Evaluation to Support the Operational of Terminal 2 Juanda Airport
The movement of aircraft and passengers at Juanda international airport is increasing every year. In 2012, the air side infrastructure of Juanda airport almost reached the maximum capacity. In other side, PT. Angkasa Pura I as the operator of Juanda airport had planned to revitalize the Juanda airport terminal that located on the south side. This terminal was not operated for 8 years. The pavement of taxiway should be evaluated its strength. The evaluation method compared The Pavement Classification Number (PCN) of taxiway pavement with Aircraft Classification Number (ACN). If PCN value was higher than ACN value, so the taxiway pavement could serve aircraft movements. The pavement of taxiway on Juanda airport evaluated by using software COMFAA. Data input into the software COMFAA was the existing pavement structure and the movement of the aircraft that will to use south side of Juanda Airport Terminal. The scenario 1 result is the exiting pavement should be overlaid 7 inches to support The operational of Terminal 2 Juanda Airport. In other side, scenario 2 result showed that the existing taxiway pavement structure was able to hold the load of aircraft movements over 20 years. The PCN value is 80.2 dan the ACN values are 89.3 in the scenario 1 and 75 in the scenario 2
Development of Parameters of Road Conditions based on Road User/Citizen Satisfaction
The study focused on the parameters of road conditions in a city road network in Indonesia. It also assessed the satisfaction level of road users/citizens within two streets in Cimahi city, Indonesia. In achieving this objective, literature reviews and opinions of 30 road users/citizens for each street were sampled using two key questions. The data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics. The analysis revealed that the satisfaction level of road users/citizens is 2.53 and 1.67 respectively, which conforms to the result of a road condition survey in the two streets. The reasons for satisfaction based on the road users’/citizens’ perspective were the good physical conditions of the road/drainage. In contrast, the reasons for dissatisfaction were unstable physical road conditions related to city maintenance activities, late/deferred maintenance and inappropriate maintenance. Road users/citizens found such maintenance activities contributed to four specific physical conditions of roads/drainage in the city: a small volume of pavement distress in scattered areas, moving road deterioration, seasonal floods and water ponds and the rapid decay of newly paved roads. The physical conditions also conform to the result of a road conditions survey for the two streets. Besides this, other physical conditions of roads/drainage contributing to unstable road conditions found by an expert are unconnected road networks due to natural disasters. The study recommended the five physical conditions of roads/drainage as a new set of parameters for road conditions for the city network in Indonesia. The new set of road condition parameters can be applied to benchmark and compare a city road condition for each parameter and also display the derived overall road performance
Gambaran Sarana Air Bersih dan Jamban Keluarga di Daerah Tertinggal Kabupaten Sampang
Salah satu kabupaten di Indonesia yang termasuk dalam daerah tertinggal adalah Kabupaten Sampang yang termasuk dalam wilayah Provinsi Jawa Timur. Kabupaten Sampang merupakan salah satu kabupaten yang terdapat di Pulau Madura. Sejak tahun 2003 Kabupaten Sampang telah terbagi dalam 14 Kecamatan sebagaimana dijelaskan dalam Peraturan Daerah No. 2 Tahun 2003, tanggal 23 Juni 2003 tentang Pembentukan Kecamatan Pangarengan Kabupaten Sampang dan Peraturan Daerah No. 3 Tahun 2003 tanggal 23 Juni 2003 tentang Pembentukan Kecamatan Karangpenang Kabupaten Sampang. Angka harapan hidup (AHH) Kabupaten Sampang meningkat setiap tahunnya namun berjalan lambat. Selama periode 2007-2012, AHH Kabupaten Sampang meningkat sebesar 3.4 poin, yaitu 64.52 tahun. Meskipun meningkat, UHH Kabupaten Sampang masih jauh di bawah UHH nasional pada tahun 2013 sebesar 71 tahun dan standar UNDP 85 tahun. Selama periode 2008-2012, terjadi fluktuasi persentase rumah tangga yang terlayani air bersih di Kabupaten Sampang dengan kecenderungan meningkat. Persentase rumah tangga yang terlayani air bersih sebesar 69,34% pada akhir periode. Sementara itu, hasil pengumpulan data primer menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden telah mendapatkan akses untuk mendapatkan sumber air minum dari sumur terlindung. Untuk kepemilikan jamban, 70% responden mempunyai jamban sendiri, namun sebagian besar masih berupa jamban cemplung dan tempat pembuangan akhirnya langsung ke tanah
Nondestructive Evaluation of Masonry Materials used in Historic Philippine Structures
Due to numerous tectonic activities in the Philippines, many old heritage and culturally important structures are in risk of sustaining damage. Unlike their modern counterparts, these structures are mostly made of adobe, clay, lime stones, bricks, blocks, rocks, and the like. These materials are mostly inhomogeneous and contain cracks of variable sizes, especially those with age, as are those used in Philippine structures. Since most of these structures are of cultural significance to the country, their preservation must be given importance. Their preservation would start in an evaluation of the structure in a way that would not damage the structure. As a method of evaluation of these structures, this research aimed to develop a correlation between mechanical properties of materials such as Young's modulus of elasticity and uniaxial compressive strength which are usually determined using destructive tests, and nondestructive parameters, such as ultrasonic pulse velocity and wave attenuation. This method would allow future evaluation of masonry structures in a nondestructive way which would in turn, preserve their historical and cultural worth. Ultrasonic testing was conducted to determine different wave characteristics of different masonry materials commonly used in old Philippine structures. These characteristics were then correlated with material properties obtained from destructive tests of the samples. The correlations obtained between the destructive and non-destructive parameters gave high values of coefficient of determination, resulting in a viable basis for modeling
Ammonia Removal Using Coconut Shell Based Adsorbent: Effect of Carbonization Duration and Contact Time
The preparation of adsorbent using activated coconut shell was investigated at carbonization duration and adsorption contact time. The coconut shell was activated using physical and chemical activation. This research focused on variation of physical activation such as carbonization. The carbonization had two steps, there are high temperature and medium temperature. This research used 500oC at high temperature and 220oC at medium temperature. The duration of medium temperature was varied in 1, 2, and 4 hours. The chemical activation used H3PO4. The ammonia concentration of simulated wastewater around 6000 mg/l. The acclimatization period was 8 d. The coconut shell ability for ammonia removal was observed after acclimatization period in 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8d. The effect of carbonization period and contact time on ammonia adsorption of dairy simulated wastewater was discussed in this research. This research used anaerobic digestion with 10 liter of volume. The concentration of ammonia was measured with nessler methods. Carbonization duration and contact time increased the adsorption capacity. From the obtained result of adsorption isotherm, the Langmuir equation was the best fit for all carbonization period, especially 4-hour carbonization period
Project Cost Escalation Prediction Models Based on System Dynamics Approach
Multiyear construction project is one of the riskiest project due to uncertainty and dynamic economic condition. In multi-years project, cost escalation is inevitable because during construction period various risk factors such as increasing of labor cost, materials cost, energy cost, and equipment cost will affect the costs of the projects. This paper proposes a model to estimate cost escalation based on System Dynamic (SD) approach. SD is used to represent correlation among risk factors influencing cost escalation and to calculate cost escalation during project period. Causal Loop Diagram (CLD) was made based on in-depth literature review and confirmed by the experts. To validate the model, 7 multi-years projects in Indonesia were used as case study. The result showed that the proposed model can accurately predict project cost escalation with an accuracy of 91.21%. Simulation of SD also showed that the change of scope of work, ambiguous contract condition, unpredictable conditions, project schedule delay, inflation, and extreme weather condition are the most influencing factor of cost escalation. Besides predicting cost escalation of project, this model can also be used as early warning system in multi-year projects environment
Property Development Risk Analysis Mandalika Resort Lombok Tourism Area
The role of the property sector to the national economy is very important. Not only its role in absorbing labor but also contributions to improving national economic growth. Great relevance to other sectors of the economy also makes the property sector requires strict protection and supervision of various parties, especially the government. It aims to prevent systemic risk due to the fall of the property sector to other economic sectors. Risks and uncertainties always occur in property development. The risk of an effect on every stage of the process of the development of ideas, feasibility studies, commitment to the construction and operation phase. The risk management process is generally a continuous and iterative process, even every kind of development is different and unique properties. This study aims to identify sources of risk, risk factors, the level of hazard, vulnerability level, the level of capacity and determine the priority risks in property development process. Steps being taken in this study include: the identification of sources of risk, the stage of identification of risk factors, the stage of identification of the level of hazard, the stage of identification of the level of vulnerability, the stage of identification of the level of capacity, the stage of risk analysis and risk priority index ( IPR). Conceptually, the proposed method in this study refers to the key measures of risk management that includes identification, qualitative risk analysis in the process of property development. Data collected through interviews and questionnaires by resource persons involved in property development in the tourism area Mandalika Resort Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara Province. Results of research on the development of the area Mandalika Resort Lombok can be concluded that the stages of development that are most at risk is the stage of an idea (IPR = 0.152), followed by the stage of feasibility (IPR = 0.067), then the commitment stage (IPR = 0,036), construction (IPR = 0.026) and stage management (IPR = 0.010). The results of this assessment indicate that the idea stage is the stage of development of the property are recommended to get treatment or priority risk response. Analytical Investigation of the Applicability of Seismic Devices for Core Frames System in High-Rise Buildings
The use of link element in high rise buildings has been applied widely and proven to be effective in the eccentric braced frame system. Latest research has also shown that the applicability of link element can be extended to other type of structural systems, such as: coupled wall system or structures with core wall. The research showed that the use of link element could lead to better deformation capacity of the system and the link elements could act as a “fuse” to limit the input of earthquake force. However, the improvement of the seismic behavior may not be effective for any type of structural system. This paper investigates analytically parameters affecting the effectiveness of the application of shear link elements within a structural system. Analysis of Seismic Attributes and Band-Limited Inversion for Re-Determining The Hydrocarbon Prospect Zone in Data F3 Netherland
The aim of this study was to determine the prospect zone of hydrocarbons in Dutch F3 field by utilizing seismic attribute analysis and band-limited inversion. The research data used comes from open source that can be downloaded at opendtect.com. Data processing uses Humpson Russel Software (HRS) to perform well to seismic tie and inversion. Interactive Petrophysics Software for well data analysis, crossplot and potential hydrocarbon estimates, and Petrel Software for well tie load data and seismic attribute analysis. Re-determination of the hydrocarbon prospecting zone includes data selection, log and seismic data processing, horizon and fault interpretation, time structure map and depth structure map, and seismic attribute analysis. From each of these stages will be integrated analyzed on the results of workmanship and geological interpretation of the sustainability of the top reservoir target. Based on the results of clay volume analysis using IP software with Gamma Ray as input parameters, it can be seen that the well that has the biggest prospect is the well F02-1 (774-919 meters) and F06-1 (770-825 meters). This is because the volume of sand in the prospect zone of both wells is larger than the other two wells. The hydrocarbon target depth is in the time to 250 to 500 second (time map structure) or 550 meters (depth conversion) with reservoir lithology in the form of shaly sand with gas fluid as filler
An Interesting Study of Capacity Improvement of a Shipyard in Myanmar
Abstract¾ Six shipyards are in operation under control of Engineering Department of Inland Water Transport. Among them, Dalla shipyard currently accounts for about 50 percent of repair work on ships owned by the Inland Water Transport (IWT). The efficiency of the shipyard, which is about 164 years old, is hampered by old equipment, including some from the WWII-era (Word War II). Now the shipyard needs to be upgraded to improve its current capacity in ship repair. In this study, we proposed two ways which are supporting facilities and re-layout shipyard to increase ship repair. This paper obtains two alternative layouts of shipyard. The first alternative layout does not change the existing layout of shipyard but steel plate warehouse are built. The second alternative changes the existing layout because machine shop and steel plate warehouse is too far from the slipways. The first and second alternatives renovate zone 5 shop, carpenter shop, pipe and boiler shop and repair slipways. The two alternatives have steel plate warehouse as well as the addition of two material handling equipment mobile crane and forklift. The second alternative re-locates new machine shop near the slip ways for better material handling and time consuming. The second alternative is the best alternative in terms of economically feasible, good flow of material and perfect of technical term and the most number of ship repairs. Then it can be improved capacity amount 1.43 times and docking time can be reduced from average 33 days to 27 days
