    Get PDF
The biggest carbon emissions in urban areas are generated from the transportation system, including in Surabaya City where the transportation sector contributes 5.48 million tons of carbon emissions per year, or about 96% of the total air emissions there. With the cities rapid development, urban transportation systems need to be managed appropriately to avoid environment damage. The most effective way to reduce carbon emissions from the transportation system is by reducing the number of private vehicles uses. TOD is one of the solutions that can be applied, which is through the integration of mixed land development and the construction of transit mode transportation systems. TOD allows people to carry out various daily activities with close transportation distances, either using transit modes, walking, or cycling. This study aims to show the benefits of applying TOD in reducing carbon emissions from the transportation sector in Surabaya using a system dynamics model. The model produced can be used as a reference or consideration for the government and other related parties in developing strategies and policies related to the implementation of TOD. Future studies can analyze several TOD scenarios that can be carried out to reduce carbon emissions from the transportation sector in Surabaya

The industry of goods and services is inseparable and is highly related to customers, so customer satisfaction is always the main goal. A company will be able to continue to survive in the market as long as it can maintain good quality in order to satisfy customers. To find out which cooking oil products on the market are in accordance with the wishes of the customer or the voice of customer, a customer satisfaction survey or questionnaire was conducted which was distributed to mothers in Griya Asri housing complex, Purwosari - Pasuruan, by comparing 3 brands of cooking oil which were all made from oil palm, namely: brands A, B and C. From the questionnaire will be known what is needed or desired by the customer so the company can determine CTQ (critical to quality) based on the voice of customer. The questionnaire that has been distributed is then calculated sigma level and also made a comparison between the level of importance with the level of customer satisfaction. The results show that the lowest level of sigma for brand A cooking oil in CTQ is not turbid fast and cheap price is 1.86, with the position in quadrant A (Attention) while for B brand low level sigma cooking oil is in CTQ for low price, namely 1.83 with a position in quadrant A (Attention) and finally the lowest level of sigma for C brand cooking oil is in CTQ Not quickly cloudy, that is 1.97 with a position in quadrant A (Attention). So it can be concluded that the CTQ that needs to be improved and considered both from the sigma level and the quadrant position for the three types of cooking oil products is not turbid fast and cheap prices

    Get PDF
Climate change that occurs due to urbanization has implications for increased intraurban heating, or usually called urban heat island (UHI). East Surabaya has the most potential to experience increased surface temperature. The urban area has different configuration characteristics and became the most fundamental impact of the phenomenon. However, East Surabaya in climate resilience response has not emphasized adaptation based on urban configuration spatially. While changing the shape of the urban that has been built is most difficult to restore and requires expensive costs. The purpose of this study is to find what’s characteristics urban configuration caused UHI significantly. So, it can be a reference to an adaptation to minimize UHI intensity from the best type of urban configuration. This study uses a positivist paradigm. Remote sensing using LiDAR and Landsat imagery became the main source of this research. With geographic information system (GIS), UHI in the urban and suburban areas of East Surabaya has a temperature difference of around 1,590C. Characteristics of urban configuration are in classifications 2 to 7. Classification 2 is the central area of activity, while classification 7 is a sub-urban area. Urban Configuration have an impact to the UHI intensity. Classification 3 has the biggest effect on UHI
