    Get PDF
This research aims to develop an interactive e-module on redox concept. Research and Development (R&D) method was used in this study with a Plomp model. This model included three phases: preliminary, prototype or development, and assessment. Validation sheets and response questionnaires were used as research instruments. Six expert lecturers, consisting of three media and materials experts each, assessed the validity sheets. A small-scale test was carried out utilizing two approaches; a one-to-one test and a small group test. A one-to-one test was given to three students who had high, medium, and low abilities; while the small group test was conducted on three teachers and 30 students from three different schools, which are MAN 2 Pekanbaru, MAN 1 Pekanbaru, and SMA IT Al-fitiyah. The results showed that the interactive e-module was very valid and could be used in learning activities. This is indicated by the percentage of validation from material experts 89.27% and media experts 88.76%. In a small-scale trial for a one-on-one test, the teacher's response 95.83% with very practical criteria; and student response test 87.73% with interesting criteria

    Get PDF
This study analyses students learning outcomes and internalization of Islamic values in buffer solutions through online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study was conducted to find effective strategies in achieving students’ competence and Islamic values. This research is a quasi-experimental study conducted on 100 tenth-grade students using The One Group Pretest-Posttest model. The results showed students learning outcomes obtain an N-Gain value of 0.72 (high category). The internalization of Islamic values for three aspects: praying, blessing, and study hard determined the average above 3 (often do). Thus, the research concludes that online learning conducted on buffer materials is effective in mastering the content and internalization of Islamic values. Â

The results showed that teachers of chemistry subjects at Senior High School in Langsa City had the readiness to use web-based learning media that would be developed. Based on the teacher's response, the development of web-based learning media on chemical bonding material is strongly needed by teachers and students. The support of facilities and human resources at Senior High School in Langsa City on web-based learning media apply is adequate. These results concluded that the development of web-based learning media on chemical bonding material is strongly needed in chemistry lessons at senior high school in Langsa city

The Effectiveness of Interactive Multimedia 3D Modeling of Metallic Bondings to Optimize Visual-Spatial Intelligence

    Get PDF
The research aims to test the effectiveness of three-dimensional (3D) modelling of metallic bonding as a learning media to optimize student visual-spatial intelligence. The respondents of this research were 25 students of the class 2017 in Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Data was collected online three times, including initial knowledge test, small group test, and large group test. The data collection method uses multiple-choice tests consisting of ten questions about metallic bonding and five visual-spatial questions. There is a 20-minute limit to answer all those questions after getting the experience to use the media. The effectiveness is analyzed based on classical learning completeness obtained from the average individual completeness value. Based on the results, the interactive multimedia 3D metallic bonding model effectively optimizes visual-spatial intelligence. The percentage of classical completeness in the small and large groups is 75.00 and 76.00 (%), respectively. This value is classified into the high category based on the recapitulation of student learning outcomes level

Development of Guided Inquiry-Based Worksheet as Teaching Materials on Elements, Compounds, and Periodic Table

    Get PDF
The chemistry lecture at Universitas Nurtanio needs teaching materials innovation to increase students' activity and learning motivation. This research aims to develop worksheets on the material of elements, compounds, and the periodic table and determine the validity and practicality. The stages carried out in this study are the define, design, and development stages. The validity and practicality data analysis used the moment kappa (k) formula. The average validity and practicality are 0.87 and 0.77, respectively, with very high criteria. The validity and practical result indicate that a guided inquiry-based worksheet can be applied as teaching materials on elements, compounds, and the periodic table in lectures

Chemical Literacy Skill of High School Students on the Solution Chemistry

    Get PDF
This research aimed to develop a multiple-choice chemical literacy test on solution chemistry as an instrument that specifically focuses on learners' knowledge and competency aspects; applying the test instrument by surveying 12th-grade high school students. The development of the test instrument adapted the R&D model by Borg and Gall. The Cronbach's Alpha reliability of the test was obtained after small-scale and wide-scale trials are 0.793 and 0.833, respectively, with 35 valid items. Data were collected using random cluster sampling with a total of 463 respondents. The result shows that the mean score of chemical literacy for the students in this study is 46.27. This indicated that the students' level of chemical literacy is low, and further improvement is required. Â

Development of High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) Test Instruments on Thermochemistry Topics

    Get PDF
This research aims to develop Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS)-based test instruments on thermochemistry in the form of a valid and reliable multiple-choice question. This research applied Research and Development (R&D) design by using the development model of Borg & Gall. The respondents of this research were 55 high school students which came from nine different schools. The research objects were multiple-choice HOTS questions numbering 20 questions. The research data was obtained by validating the thermochemistry HOTS questions by material and media expert lecturers. High school chemistry teacher as a reviewer who assesses the questions and tested on students. The results showed that the product quality assessment by material expert 92.00%; product quality assessment by media expert 92.00%; and quality assessment by reviewers (high school chemistry teachers) 94.89 % in the Very Good category. The trial result data from the students were processed by using IBM SPSS Statistics 24 and it showed that nine questions were valid but not reliable

Development Electronic Student Worksheet based on Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring (REACT) in Introduction to Chemistry and Laboratory

    Get PDF
This research aims to development a REACT-based e-worksheet that is feasible to use to stimulate the critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication (4C) skills and determine student response. The challenges of a dynamic era require students to have a 4C skills set critical thinking and problem-solving skills; creativity and innovation; communication; and collaboration. One of the tools that can be used in online learning to achieve this goal is to use the electronic Student Worksheet (E-Worksheet) which includes the student's 4C skill values with REACT strategies: Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring. The research chooses one of the topics in chemistry, which is introduction to chemistry and laboratories. This REACT-based e-worksheet was developed using the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages those are analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. In addition, the study used a sample of 10 students of mathematic and natural science 12th grade MAN 4 Tangerang. Based on the results of validation and student response questionnaires, REACT-based e-worksheet to stimulate students' 4C skills was declared valid and obtained an average percentage of 91.8% with very good criteria

Analysis Students’ Scientific Explanation Skills Using Explanation Driven Inquiry Learning on Acid-Base Topic

    Get PDF
This study analyzes students' scientific explanation skills using explanation driven inquiry (EDI) learning on acid-base topics. The method used a quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group design. The research sample consisted of two groups that 30 students each in EDI (experimental group) and guided inquiry (GI) (control group). The research instrument was essay questions. The EDI learning model provides better results than the guided inquiry (GI) learning model for students' scientific explanation skills. The quality of the students' scientific explanation skills reached the highest level (level 4). EDI class students were more likely to achieve it than the GI class
