Transformation of Environmental Education (PLH) Learning with Contextual-Based e-Modules at Pabentengang TPA
The development of this e-module is motivated by the limitations of PLH teaching materials which are only conceptual and do not link theory to real phenomena around students, for example the problem of waste management at the Pabentengang TPA. These limitations cause learning to be less interesting and meaningful. Therefore, this study aims to transform PLH learning through the development of contextual-based e-modules that link theory to local environmental problems directly. This study uses the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The validity of the product was assessed by material experts and media experts; the validation results showed a score of 83.33% (valid) from material experts, and a score of 87% for the presentation aspect and 90% for the graphic aspect from media experts (very valid). The test decision stated that the e-module could be used with minor revisions, while the student response trial obtained a score of 71.47% with the category "Good/Decent." In conclusion, the developed e-module is suitable for use as a supplement to PLH teaching materials, especially in providing concrete solutions to environmental problems, such as waste management at the Pabentengang TPA
Designing Integrated Program for Teaching Language, Literature, and Arts for Young Learners
Much research discussed the value of teaching additional language, literature, and the arts for young learners. Among the many benefits, some research mentioned the development of children’s knowledge, emotion, intellect, imagination, as well as reading habits. Collectively, most studies in this area suggested facilitating the teaching of language, literature, and the arts as a part of lesson planning in the classroom. However, in an ESL context such as Indonesia, the ideal situation for the incorporation of language, literature, and the arts is not easy to accomplish. Therefore, the study outlines a design of a program that integrates the teaching of language, literature, and the arts to young learners. In the process, an ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model is employed. The study anchored the development of the program design based upon two important elements. First, the consideration of factors necessary as the value of the foundation of the program, such as age group, benefits, and the types of activities. Second, the categorization of the types of activities is divided into two divisions, namely the individual program and the combined program. The result of the study shows that while the value of the teachings of language, literature, and the arts has been acknowledged, we need to facilitate the learning into a well-structured program for a more optimum result
