Hermeneutika Friedrich D.E. Schleiermacher sebagai Metode Tafsir Al-Qur’an (Kajian ayat ikhlāṣ; jilbāb; sayyārah; dan al-hudā)
Text, reader, and author are three entities that are interlocked in a process of understanding text. For Friedrich D.E. Schleiermacher, someone can only understand the text he/she reads if he/she delves into the author\u27s psychological experience and knows exactly the phrases that the author uses in writing text. Talking about reading the Qur’an as a text found by modern humans today which its existence as a text is revealed in the seventh century in the Arabic nation, it is a must for anyone to know the Arabic grammatical used by the Qur\u27an. This article discusses linkages between the language analysis formulated by Schleiermacher and the method of understanding the Qur\u27an which is today found in the text form with special reference to the four key terms discussed. Using the descriptive-analysis method this research finds that Schleiermacher’s hermeneutic becomes relevant to Quranic studies because it can enrich existing interpretive methods. The concept of psychological hermeneutics will contribute to the realm of asbāb al-nuzūl study and the necessity of proper faith. Whereas the grammatical will contribute to the realm of understanding Qur’an as ancient Arabic text.
Tafsir Al-Qur’an dari dan untuk Orang Sunda: Ayat Suci Lenyepaneun Karya Moh. E. Hasim (1916-2009)
This article examines the peculiarities of one of Sundanese tafsirs or Qur’anic commentaries in West Java, Moh. E. Hasim’s Ayat Suci Lenyepaneun. Using discourse analysis approach, this study illustrates how the author arranges his interpretation in line with Sundanese culture and socio-religious background in modern Indonesia. There are some characteristics of Hasim’s Lenyepaneun: nuances of Sundanese literature and nature, Sundanese daily stories and his response to social-religious discourse. All these characteristics are significant in shaping the horizon of interpretation that feels more nyunda (Sundanese) as well as current response in his period. This study proves that the Sundanese tafsirs is not only related to deliver messages of God, but also associated with the functionalization of Sundanese as language of sense (rasa) to be more pervasive into hearts and minds. Lenyepaneun represents an effort of Sundanese domestication and bridging a gap between Arabic and Sundanese. This study also reinforces an illustration of how the text of Qur’anic commentary could serve as a social commentary. It could be one example of how local Qur’anic commentary in Indonesia could be a guardian of local Islam without leaving its relevance to the modernity
Takwil As-Sirāṭ Al-Mustaqīm dalam Pembacaan Tafsir Mulla Sadra
This paper is a literature review of Mullā Ṣadrā\u27s thoughts on takwil as-ṣirāṭ al-mustaqīm which is studied through his main work, entitled Tafsīr Al-Qur\u27ān Al-Karīm. By using the descriptive-analytical method, the conclusion is that takwil as-ṣirāṭ al-mustaqīm in Mullā Ṣadrā\u27s view is studied through two approaches, namely the text analysis method and mukāshafah as a process of knowing the true meaning of the term as-ṣirāṭ al-mustaqīm. In discourse, it is known that the commentators are divided into two views, namely the historical view which examines the term as-ṣirāṭ al-mustaqīm based on textual narrations and the view of ijtihad based on rationality. The implication of these two views is to limit the meaning and essence of the term as-ṣirāṭ al-mustaqīm based on historical and intellectual references. In order to overcome these problems, this paper aims to explain the nature and meaning of as-ṣirāṭ al-mustaqīm based on Mullā Ṣadrā\u27s takwil by mediating historical and rational views. The result of this paper is to offer a new perspective on understanding the terms of the Qur’an transcendentally so that each individual can clearly understand the meanings and nature of as-ṣirāṭ al-mustaqīm
Beberapa Isu Teologi dan Syari’ah dalam Perspektif Islam dan Agama Samawi Lainnya: Studi Kasus Pemikiran M. Quraish Shihab
This article discusses the comparison of Islamic perspective and other religious perspectives regarding some theological and sharia issues, taking Quraish Shihab’s thought as a case in point. Using a descriptive-analytic method, this study answers how his thoughts about some issues of theology and shari’a are similar with or different from other religious perspectives. This article finds that the theological and sharia themes that are carried by M. Quraish Shihab are related to texts such as in other religions, especially through the theme of unifying God, respecting for others, establishing prayer, prohibition of killing and doing heinous, qishāsh law, fasting, spirituality, and alms. Intertextual thinking is useful for bringing together interfaith themes that emphasize the unity of sources and the close relation of religions to one another

Humans are God\u27s perfect creatures equipped with various abilities, not only physical but also spiritual. Humans are equipped with the potential and strength that can make it continue to exist in the world. The creation of humans to earth has a purpose as a leader. By using the literature study method it can be concluded that the position of humans as God\u27s representatives on earth is equipped with various gifts so that humans can carry out their duties properly. The position that humans obtain is trust and devotion to God. Tafsīr Tanwīr mentions three potentials that exist in the human, namely the nature of shape, the nature of existence and the nature of potential. To become a leader on earth, humans must be able to develop a system of knowledge, social systems and artifact systems. Man must be fully aware that he is a being who has many statuses: as a superior person, as a servant of God, as a family member, as a member of society, as a citizen of the State, and as a citizen of the worl
The Use of Hadith in Faḍāil A‘māl book
This paper aims to discuss the Hadith in the book of Faḍāil A\u27māl by Maulana Zakariyya al-Kandahlawi. This book is the primary reference for the Tablighi Jamaat group in practicing the sunnahs of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh. By adopting the al-Irāqi method in capturing the book (takhrīj al-kitāb) of Iḥyā ‘Ulūm al-Dīn, this paper traces the authenticity of the Hadiths and potrays the interaction of the Tablighi Jamaat group with the book which later became a tradition in daily life. This paper find that there are 22 authentic (Ṣaḥiḥ) Hadiths, 1 good (Ḥasan) Hadith, 9 weak (dā’if) Hadith, 5 very weak (da’īf jiddan) Hadith, 1 fabricated (maudu’) Hadith, and 2 la aṣla lahu (lam ajidhu) Hadith in Faḍāil A\u27māl Book
Studi Komparasi Tafsir Ayat Jabr dan Ikhtiyar dalam Tafsir Al-Zamakhshari dan Al-Razi
This article compares Zamakhshari’s interpretation with Rāzī’s one, regarding the verses of jabr and ikhtiyār, using a thematic method. It finds that Zamakhshari’s interpretation is deterministic and sometimes indeterministic, whereas Rāzī’s one is deterministic. Both interpretations were influenced by the contexts where the authors lived. Their interpretations reflect as thoughts which perceive the human capacity in comprehending texts as well as dealing with realities
Surat al-Ikhlāṣ dalam Kitab Khazīnat al-Asrār
This paper discusses the magic aspects of surah al-Ikhlas in the book Khazīnat al-Asrār. This qualitative research answers what aspects of surah al-Ikhlas contained in this book. Through the analysis of Surah Al-Ikhlāṣ in the book, there are at least a few important points. First, the book affirms that the practice of magic in Islam is not a tradition that comes from outside, but it comes from the internal traditions of Muslims in which they are the arguments of authentic hadiths. Secondly, the Quran is believed to be the word of God provides magic values for its readers. It encourages reading certain letters, use as away to resould problems. encountered can be resolved. Thus, the mechanism of action is the same as magic, only it is packaged using Quranic verses
Rekonstruksi Pemahaman Hadis Analisis Hadis di dalam Fatwa MUI tentang Kesetaraan Jender
The paper studies the use of Hadith in the discourse of gender issue reflected in the issuance of MUI’s fatwa. Using descriptive analytic method, it finds that the use of hadiths about gender equality in MUI’s fatwa was based on the validity of the hadith codified by authoritative Hadith scholars. The study confirms Ibnuddin’s (2011), M. Quraish Shihab’s (2003), and Yusuf al-Qarad}a>wi’s (2011) findings, which say that understanding the Traditions about women requires metaphorical interpretation. This study differs from M. Asrorun Ni\u27am Saleh’s (2012) which argues that that the MUI’s fatwa on female circumcision is neutral, and from Yunahar Ilyas’s (1997) which shows discrimination
