Syarh Al-Isyārī: The Sufi Approach to Interpreting the Prophet’s Hadith

The syarḥ al-ishyārī approach is a method of hadith interpretation developed within the Sufi tradition, emphasizing texts\u27 inner and symbolic meanings. However, this approach is often seen as deviating from the literal intent of the hadith. This study aims to examine the forms of syarḥ al-ishyārī within the Sufi tradition and evaluate its validity using five criteria formulated by al-Zurqānī. A qualitative research method based on library research was used, analyzing works such as Futūḥāt al-Makkiyyah, Iḥyā\u27 \u27Ulūm al-Dīn, and Mir’āt al-Ḥaqā’iq. The findings show that syarḥ al-ishyārī is acceptable if it does not contradict the apparent meaning, is free from weak interpretations, and aligns with both transmitted and rational evidence. This study recommends a cautious and methodological approach to Sufi interpretations of hadith. The main conclusion suggests that syarḥ al-ishyārī is a valid derivative interpretation when it adheres to strict scholarly boundaries

Homosexuality is one type of human sexual orientation that the mufasirs have prohibited such behavior as has been done by the people of Prophet Luth. The view of the mufasirs in the prohibition leads that homosexual behavior violates the nature of human creation which lives in pairs between men and women. So in this study using the theory of maqāṣidī interpretation approach, researchers will prove that the relationship between men and women is a more maqāṣidī-ah and healthy relationship, besides that this research will also reveal the purpose and wisdom of the prohibition of homosexual behavior. So the results of this study can be concluded that the wisdom of the prohibition of homosexuality contains several maqāṣid, namely hifẓ al-nasl (continuing generations), hifẓ al-dīn (continuing and fighting for the teachings of Islam), hifẓ al\u27aql (avoiding excessive attitudes) and hifẓ al-nafs (avoiding disease). Homosexual behavior will not provide benefits for life but rather provide harm.

The hadith that mentions women, donkeys, and dogs can cancel prayers when passing in front of people who pray has caused controversy, mainly because it is considered to contain gender bias. This study aims to examine the validity of the matan hadith through the approach of matan criticism according to al-Adlabi in Manhaj Naqd al-Matn \u27Inda \u27Ulamā\u27 al-Ḥadīth al-Nabawī. The method employed is a literature study that involves tracing the hadith in al-Kutub al-Tis\u27ah and analyzing it based on four criteria: conformity with the Qur\u27an, sahih hadith, the Prophet\u27s sirah, rationality, and historical context, as well as editorial feasibility. The results of the analysis show that, although the sanad of the hadith is considered authentic, it contains problems: it is not in line with the Qur\u27an, it contradicts Aisha\u27s history and the Prophet\u27s practice, and it juxtaposes women with animals in the context of worship. This study emphasizes the importance of critically analyzing the hadith so that our understanding of it remains in harmony with the values of justice, common sense, and humanity in Islam

A superficial comprehension of hadith that depends exclusively on the text may hide the profound message conveyed by the Prophet. This research seeks to investigate the influence of culture on the interpretation of hadith and how academics contextualize it to reconcile the disparities in comprehension between rural and urban groups. The employed methodology is qualitative, utilizing a hermeneutic approach to hadith texts and a contextual examination of public reception. The study\u27s findings indicate that a holistic approach, integrating textual and contextual meanings, might enhance the egalitarian ethos in Islam and render hadith more pertinent to modern social dynamics. Consequently, the significance of hadith is not merely normative but also capable of adapting to the cultural realities of society

Hadis Tentang Mengeraskan Suara: Kajian Ma’anil Hadis dengan Pendekatan al-Wasilah al-Mutaghayyirah wa al-Hadf al-Thabit Perspektif Yusuf al-Qardhawi

Zikr is a form of worship that is light but has great rewards that is said through the heart and verbally, dhikr is also a worship that essentially means a person is connecting with Allah. Therefore, this research explains the hadith of raising one\u27s voice in the principles of Al-Wasilah al-Mutaghayyirah wa al-Hadf al-Thabit, views of Yusuf al-Qardhawi. The research used by the author is qualitative research using the library research method. The results of the author\u27s research show that the behavior of raising one\u27s voice when doing dhikr is permissible, as long as it does not disturb other congregation members in the surrounding area. Returning to the rule that Yusuf al-Qardhawi uses, the means can change according to situations and conditions, but do not change the original goals set at the beginning. Dhikr can be done using any means, including by raising your voice, lowering your voice, lying down, sitting, sleeping, walking, standing and so on with the intention of not just showing off for Allah\u27s sake in front of other people. In this case, as a Muslim, it would be better not to arbitrarily blame other people, even if they have different beliefs

Tracing Truth : A Critical Study on the Authenticity of the Hadiths in Al-Bayan by Abdul Hamid Hakim (1893 M-1959 M)

This research focuses on the problem of unclear hadith authentication and legal classification in Al-Bayan by Abdul Hamid Hakim, where many hadiths are cited without explanation of their sanad or legal status. Such absence of references raises questions about the methodological rigor and reliability of the hadiths used as istidlal (legal arguments). The study employs a qualitative method with a literature study approach, emphasizing takhrij al-hadith to trace the origins, authenticity, and legal implications of the hadiths. Through comparative analysis, the research identifies 165 hadiths, of which 129 are excluded because their rulings are clear and authenticated by al-Bukhari and Muslim, while 36 require further takhrij. From 103 hadiths analyzed in detail, 6 are hasan, 9 are da‘if, and the rest are sahih. The findings show that Abdul Hamid Hakim’s interpretive approach integrates the Qur’an, hadith, qiyas, and scholarly consensus, prioritizing moral and legal coherence over technical precision

Authority between Text and Context: Sources, Methods, and Interpretation Patterns of the Companions of the Khulafāu al-Rāsyidīn on Casuistic Issues

The rationale for this research stems from the polarization of two groups: the Islamic Orthodox group and the group of inclusive reform thinkers. The problems that occurred since the time of the prophet and Khulafau al-Rasyidin\u27s companions are very likely different from today\u27s more complex times. Therefore, the researcher wants to re-read the intellectual struggle of the Companions in interpreting the Qur\u27an on casuistic issues at that time. Starting from the source, method, style of interpretation, and the struggle between text and context. The research method of this article uses the library research method, in which all data is taken from written materials that are directly related to and correlate considerably with the topic under study. One fundamental principle is that all the companions agreed that the preeminent source is the Qur\u27an and Hadith. It follows that the purpose of the Shari\u27ah that God intends is the purpose for which it contains elements of human benefit. The preservation of religion, soul, mind, lineage, and property. Known as Maqasidhu al-Sharia
