No full textIn its formative years, Islamic law develops gradually. Along its development as a concept of reasoning as well as judging, Islamic law is a result of mixed and blended elements: a transcendental and local elements are formulated to be a coherent reference of logics. The article proposes the continuation of the blended tradition. The basic assumption is as long as sharia is able to maintain its adaptability to the newest cultural innovation and create ‘creative dialectics’ as it is shown in its glorious history of human civilization, it will survive as a moral guidelines and legal frame of thought. The article tries further to offer a model of such a creativity, especially with regard to the concept of human rights
Salafi’s Textualism in Understanding Qur’an and Hadith
Get PDFThis paper discusses salafi’s textualism in understanding Quran and Hadith, especially the early salafi’s figures who have great influence in the theology of salafi. Literature study method by examining the books and biographies related to the topic is used in this paper. According to salafi everything that is not mentioned clearly in Quran and Hadith should not be done, and must be left and kept away. Aḥmad Ibn Ḥanbal which is considered as the inventor of salafi strongly refused Mu’tazilah doctrine who said that Quran is a creature in al-Ma’mun era, because this thought is not exist in Quran and Hadith then the successor of salafi thought Ibnu Taimiyah did not accept the interpretation of Allah attribute, he accepted the ayah and hadith about attribute textually

Get PDFThis paper seeks to uncover the theory of Ma\u27na-Cum-Maghza as the development of the Hermeneutic thought of the Quran introduced by Sahiron Syamsuddin and the methodology he used in developing the theory and how scholars debated the use of the term Hermeneutics in the study of the Quran in Indonesia. Through a descriptive analysis approach, I tried to present library data such as books and several scientific articles. This study concludes that there are differences of views between Muslim scholars in accepting the term Hermeneutics of the Quran, the theory offered by Syamsuddin does not came from the thought of Fazlur Rahman and Naṣr Ḥamīd Abū Zayd who put the text of the Quran as a product of historical culture, this theory explains that a reader must look for the initial meaning of the text (objective meaning) understood by the listener or the first recipient of the Quran, then sought for its significance in today\u27s context

But among some contemporary thoughts such as Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid point out that, the verse is not an order against polygamy but rather in the context of marriage it is recommended for monogomy. Specifically, there are five hermeneutic approaches offered by Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid, socio-cultural contexts, external contexts, internal contexts, language contexts, and contexts of reading and reading. The research approach is the literature study approach which is a series of approaches relating to searching various sources of writing, whether in the form of books, articles, journals, or documents relevant to the problem under study. Thus, it can be concluded that, the application of Nazr Hamid Abu Zaid hermenutics to the interpretation of Q.S. An-Nisa \u274: 3 is understood as a monogamous context rather than a command against polygamy

Hasbie Ash-Siddiqie in his An-Nur commentary also uses the ulum al-Qur\u27an method. Not all the methods in ulum al-Qur\u27an are explained in this paper. Only a few examples of this method, the view of Hasbi Ash-Siddiqie applies in his commentary. The method used in this paper is a description-analysis that describes the problem associated with obtaining a comprehensive understanding. It starts with reading the life history of Hasbi Ash-Siddiqie. Then the background of the commentator in writing the commentary. After that, the speaker will analyze through ulum al-Qur\u27an from Hasbi Ash-Siddiqie. The data collection technique used in this research is literature study (Library Research). Eksistensi Alquran Pusaka dalam Perkembangan Mushaf
Get PDFThis article seeks the existance of Quran Pusaka, first official Indonesian Quran in 1960. The seeking refer to mushaf studies that develop till today. In addition to library data (specially Pusaka Quranic manuscript), this article uses interview data then explained by discriptive-analytic. This article argues that Quran Pusaka did not become a reference for published Quran, although Abu Bakar Aceh regarded it as Mushaf Imam. Furthemore, this Quran is lacked of attention by government and Nusantara Quranic scholars. The evidence are, Bayt Al-Quran and Istiqlal Museum wrote a wrong leaflet, and Quran Pusaka was not mentioned in the history of Indonesian Quranic Standard book

No full textThis study focused on hadith and the science of hadith in the view of Ahlus Sunnah and Shia. Ahl al-Sunnah and Shia view the hadith as a source of Islam. The existence of different cultural roots of each group makes the Hadith can not be separated from the interests of group authority. The Shi\u27a believe that the revelation did not stop after the death of the Prophet Muhammad. In the verification of the hadith, the Shi\u27ah provided the criteria for the existence of a continuation of the ma\u27shum and all the narrators in the sanad came from the Shi\u27a group at all levels

Get PDFArtikel ini mengekplorasi nalar eksklusif maupun inklusif dalam penafsiran al-Qur’an dipengaruhi oleh rujukan tafsir, tujuan penafsiran serta ideologi penafsir. Hal ini berangkat dari langkah Depag serta Muhammad Thalib (pengarang Tarjamah Tafsiriyah) yang sama-sama memperjuangkan deradikalisasi pemahaman al-Qur’an. Namun, relatif berbeda dalam penerapan pada karya yang dihasilkan. Di sisi lain karya Tarjamah Tafsiriyah muncul sebagai langkah reaktif serta korektif terhadap karya Depag yang dianggap membawa pesan radikal. Akan tetapi kenyataannya Depag selalu memperjuangkan toleransi dalam kehidupan beragama di Indonesia. Melalui sudut pandang hermeneutika berbasis pendekatan sosio-historis ditemukan adanya bias dalam masing-masing karya tersebut dengan fokus pada ayat-ayat al-Qur’an bertemakan jihad dan relasi muslim dan non-muslim.
