A Study on the Physical Sensations of Four Kinds of Trial Toothbrushes and Four Different Toothbrushing Methods
application/pdfUsing 65 students of the hygiene school attached to Matsumoto Dental College (35 first-year students, 30 second-year students) as subjects, we performed an investigation into the different physical sensations produced when using 4 trial toothbrushes and 4 different toothbrushing methods. The conclusions are as follows: 1. "Length of brush": There was a tendency to reply that the length of brush seemed slightly shorter when the students brushed with the Roll method, rather than the other three methods. 2. "Stiffness of filaments": There was a tendency to reply that the bristle was much harder when the students brushed with methods from Group B (Methods that primarily use the tip of the bristle) than with methods from Group A (Methods which use the side of the bristle). 3. "Tooth brush wear": A large percentage of students replied that the bristle was more durable when using methods from Group B rather than Group A. 4. "Physical sensation on tooth and gingiva": Brush M and the Open-tufted brush, both classified as "medium" stiffness, were preferred. 5. "Physical sensation of holding the handle": 80-90% of the students, regardless of the toothbrushing method employed, liked the handles of the brushes.journal articl
著しい叢生を伴うAngle Class II division 1の2治験例
application/pdfTwo female patients with severe Angle Class II division 1 malocclusion were orthodontically treated. The first case was a young growing patient (ANB 10.0°, overjet 9.0mm), and showed both the orthopedic effect of headgear in inhibiting maxillary growth and encouraging mandibular growth. The second case was an adult patient with severe crowding of the upper arch (modified ANB 11.0°, overjet 11.0mm). The upper cuspid was extracted as an unusual extraction case. Both of the cases had good occlusion and profile and the patients were satisfied with the results.journal articl
下顎骨の臼後窩と臼後三角にみられる臼後孔の数と大きさ
application/pdfIn the observation of the retromolar foramina on and around the retromolar triangle and on the retromolar fossa of 122 mandibules of Indians, the following results were obtained: 1. The Number of small foramina: The number of small foramina was most frequently 2 in 20.9%, followed by 3 in 20.1%, 1 in 16.4% and 4 in 15.6%. The largest number was 18 and the average number was 3.5. 2. The Number of small foramina and their position: The amall foramina on the retromolar triangle were 1 in 32.4%, 2 in 25.4% and 3 in 15.2%. The largest number was 10 and the average was 2.2. The small foramina on the retromolar fossa were 0 in 48.4%, 1 in 33.6% and 2 in 12.3%. The largest number was 7 and the average was 0.8. They were more frequently found in the retromolar triangle than in the retromolar fossa. 3. The Size of the small foramina: The size of small foramina was 0.25mm in 41.4%, 0.15mm in 25.7% and 0.35mm in 19.3%. The largest size was 1.25mm and the average size was 0.29mm. 4. The size and position of the small foramina: The size of the small foramina on the retromolar triangle was 0.25mm in 40.8%, followed by 0.15mm in 23.8%. The largest size was 1.25mm and the average size was 0.29mm. The size of the small foramina on the retromolar fossa were 0.25mm in 42.3%, and 0.15mm in 28.4%. The largest size was 1.25mm and the average size was 0.30mm.journal articl
リン酸塩系埋没材と,耐火材の熱膨張に関する研究
application/pdfPhosphate bonded investments are generally used in the casting of high fusing alloys, but they have some uncertain factors in their thermal expansion and setting expansion. This report described the thermal expansion of two pressed and setted commercial investments, Ceravest and Cerami Gold, and their refractory by pressing them during setting. Results were as follows; 1. The thermal expantion of phosphate bonded investments was increased by pressure, or prevention of setting expansion at the setting time. 2. This increase of thermal expansion was caused by the orientted structure of refractory particles and the release of stress. 3. Investments and their consolidated refmactory were enlaged by cyclical heating. 4. Specimens of quartz and cristobaraite show anisotropic thermal expansion in direction of crystal axis. 5. In investments containing coarse and spherical refractory grains, the thermal expansion was unaffected by pressing during the setting.journal articl
The Morphological Study of Maxillary Edentulous Ridges and Palates by Moiré Topography
application/pdfIt is important to study the morphology of upper and lower edentulous ridges and palates on the basis of complete denture construction. We have conducted a mathematical method to classify the cross-section of the palatal vault and/or the alveolar crest line form with Fourier analysis without using methods of inspection which have already been discussed. As a result, the cross-section of palatal vaults can be divided into Ovoid, Square and V-shaped types, and alveolar crest lines can be divided into 4 types. This method appears to be an objective one avoiding the researcher's subjective point of view.journal articl
リドカインの静注および硬膜外麻酔における気管内挿管時の循環動態に及ぼす影響
application/pdfWe investigated the effects of lidocaine on the sympathetic reflex during tracheal intubation. Seventy three adult patients were divided into four groups as follows : group I : no administration of lidocaine (21 patients); group II : intravenous administration of lidocaine, 1.5 mg/kg (18 patients); group III : intravenous administration of lidocaine, 2.0 mg/kg (16 patients); group IV : intraepidural administration of lidocaine plus intravenous administration, 1.5-2.0 mg/kg (18 patients). The lidocaine was administered immediately before rapid induction using thiamylal 5 mg/kg and succinylcholine 1 mg/kg. As hemodynamic parameters, systolic and diastric blood pressure and heart rate were measured before induction, before laryngoscopy, and immediately after tracheal intubation. The incidence of arrhythmia during intubation was also observed in groups II and III. In all groups, both systolic and diastolic pressure fell and heart rate depressed slightly before the larygoscopy, and all the dynamic parameters elevated immediatly after intubation. We discovered no statistical significance between the groups. The incidence of arrhythmia was significantly low in II to III group. Our results suggest that neither intravenous nor intraepidural lidocaine depresses the sympathetic reflex, and also the that blockade in the efferent sympathetic pathway of the preganglionic lebel at T_7 to L_ has no effect on the neural reflex. However intravenous lidocaine at the dose of 1.5 mg/kg may be useful in the prevention of arrhythmia during laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation.journal articl
思春期成長を過ぎた下顎前突の2治験例
application/pdfTwo female patients with post-pubertal mandibular protrusion were orthodontically treated. The first case was of a small FMA. Therefore we planned to achieve backwardrotation of mandibular by using the chin cap. However she rarely used it and we could not control mandibular growth. Her ANB changed for the worse from 1.0 to 0.5°. The second case was of a large FMA. We did not plan to use the chin cap, but she also had post-pubertal mandibular growth. Her ANB changed for the worse from -1.0° to -2.0°. However both of the cases had good occlusion, and the patients appeared to be satisfied with the results.journal articl
