α-Glucosidase of Capnocytophaga ochracea; Its Cellular Location, Dissolution, Purification, and Partial Characterization
Get PDFapplication/pdfα-Glucosidase activity was detected in the crude extract of cell and envelope of Capnocytophaga ochracea ATCC 33596. The enzyme associated with the envelope was effectively dissolved by cetyltrimethylammonium bromide. The enzyme was purified from both fractions by combination of ammonium sulfate precipitation, ion-exchage chromatography, gel filtration, and isoelectric focusing. Properties of both enzymes were quite similar: they were basic proteins, metalloenzymes, and most active at pH7.0. They hydrolyzed only p-nitrophenyl-α-D-gluconopyranoside.journal articl

However we experienced the pigmentatiom in the interdental papilla of a 51-year-old woman. A gingival ectomy was carried out to the patient, and the specimen was observed histopathologically. Get PDFapplication/pdfIn this study we observed the biocompatibility of titanium and Ti-Ni alloy (Shape Memory alloy). Slide glass, a piece of nickel, a piece of Ti-Ni alloy, and a shape memory alloy root type implant were embeded in the mandibule of Japanese monkeys. The results were that, althogh nickel is a detrimental material in vivo, the titanium-nickel alloy (Shape Memory alloy) is a biocompatible one. When the Shape Memory Implant was inserted, the trabecular bones surrounded the implant and the bone tissues a chered tightly to it without the fibrous connective tissues. Because of the in situ of the oxidized membrane on the titanium-nickel alloy, we come to a unanimous conclusion about the use of titanium-nickel alloy. The titanium-nickel alloy implant (shape Memory Alloy Implant) is a useful implant for the dental implant system.journal articl
Crouzon症候群の1治験例 : その歯科矯正学的考察

The patient was administered Le Fort IV minus osteotomy was performed on the patient after pre-surgical orthodontic treatment. It was suggested that maxillofacial surgery associated with craniofacial abnormalities was very effective on the patient not only for the orofacial function, but also for a esthetic facial reconstruction. Furthermore, for each specific individual with this syndorome, diagnosis and treatment planning in ortho-surgical intervention must be carefully planned.journal articl

Get PDFapplication/pdfProsthetic treatment for patients with cleft lip and palate is extremely difficult because of the both their severe malposition of anterior teeth and the defect of alveolar bone and ridge. The aesthetic considerations for young adult women patients are very important not only from a cosmetic viewpoint but also from a psychological one. One patient was a 21-year-old woman and the other a 19-year-old woman. Both patients desired the improvement and alteration of their considerably malpositioned maxillary anterior teeth as well as of the defect of the anterior alveolar ridge. We did this by means of fixed partial dentures. The fixed partial denture is preferable for young adult women but is difficult to keep clean because of accumulation in the region of the cleft. However, the removable partial denture has some disadvantages in providing adequate aesthetic benefits and functional treatment, particularly with young women patients who object psychologically to removable dentures. This article describes how to improve aesthetically and functionally by fixed and removable partial dentures the condition of patients with cleft lip and palate.journal articl
