Albucasisの外科学書にみられる歯科学的記述と器具について
application/pdfAlbucasis is one of the representative scholar of Arabic Medicine in the Middle Ages. He wrote a book titled "Surgery", which it thought to be a quotation from the work of Paul of Aegina. Nevertheless, the book is very famous for its vast quantity of illustrations of surgical and dental instruments. In 1909 V. Guerini described the instruments in "Surgery" from the book which had been translated into Latin by Channing. I compared the work of Channing with the English Version by Spink and Lewis and discovered something new. "Surgery" is of composed three books. In the first book, treatment or cures involve cauterization. In the second book cure is referred to as incision, perforation, venesection and wounds. Finally the third book focuses on the cures for bone fractures and dislocations. Among the books there appeared 196 illustrations of surgical and dental instruments. Therefore, it is said that "Surgery" is the first book which adopted illustrations, of mentioned above. I found that some articles should have been added to the dental descriptions by Guerini. Moreover, I found that regarding the dental instruments, especially the sealer, different illustrations had been introduced by Guerini.journal articl
市販義歯洗浄剤の義歯床用金属への影響 : その1 評価方法について
application/pdfA denture cleanser is acceptable for use in cleaning dentures and other removable appliances as part of a program for good oral hygiene to supplement, the regular professional care required for oral health. However, the effects of denture cleanser on denture materials, especially the precious or non-precious metal used in removable appliances are not well known. Four denture cleansers and three dental alloys were used to evaluate the color differences, luster, surface roughness and pH. The results were as follows:1. The luster for Titanium decreased in Evaclean and Dentfree cleansers. 2. The surface roughness for Ag-Pd-Au alloy and Co-Cr alloy increased in Evaclean cleanser. 3. The Evaclean was alkaline in pH measurement in three denture cleansers. 4. It was suggested that the measurement of luster was useful to evaluate the surface characteristics for dental alloys used in removable appliances.journal articl
歯科口腔領域放射線像とカラー画像のための小型画像処理システムの開発
application/pdfThe Department of Dental Radiology of Matsumoto Dental College is presently in the process of a new type of compact image archiving/processing system. The system consists of a personal computer, an image scanner with transparent unit for film scanning, an off-line CT image archiving through a floppy disk reader, a precision image display with full-color, a video printer and a high density 3.5 inch magneto-optical disk system. The system supports various image processing abilities which including frequency domain analysis and color processing. Our emphasis is on quality over speed and operation has also been tested and approved by dental radiologists and by the commercial availability of a system capable of an acceptable performance.journal articl
歯科インプラント体と周囲骨組織の界面についての組織学的考察
application/pdfSeveral qualities of materials are being used in implants. The biomaterial of the implants are usually classified as either non-bioactive or bioactive. Several studies have compared the interface of bone and different biomaterials. However, differences between the types of bone bonding, osseointegration, and contact osteogenesis have not been clarified. Formerly, titanium blade-vent implants were used for endosteal implants for a long time. Recently, various other forms and materials have been introduced for this purposes. The histological findings of these interface are also discussed in this introduction. The first cellular reaction occurs on the implant surface 1 to 3 weeks after implantation. Mononuclear phagocytes occur on the bone surface of the surrounding implant in this period. Preosteoblast and osteoblast are situated a distance of 30-50μm away from the implant surface. After 3 months, osteoblasts have reached the implant surface and bone formation is seen. The concept of osseointegration was originally introduced by Bränemark to describe the type of fibrous connective tissue-free anchorage of endosteal implant. Osseointegration is represented as healed bone in direct contact with a loaded implant surface. In the early period, movements of the implant encourage the formation of fibrous connective tissue at the implant interface. The loaded Ti-Ni Shape Memory alloy implant has been shown to come in direct contact with the bone, similar to osseointegration conditions. The hydroxyapatite coated implants (Sumicikon^[○!R]) designed by M.Ito and K. Suzuki in 1981, overcame the inter facial difficulty. The absence of fibrous encapsulation reaction allowing bonding between hydroxyapatite coating layer and the newly formed bone is an interesting phenomenon. The hydroxyapatite coated layer and the healing bone appeared to bind chemically at the interface.journal articl
小児の咬合分析に関する研究 : 第2報 T-Scanの応用
application/pdfIn the present study, relationships among measuring items of T-scan system, masticatory force value and masticatory surface were analyzed (according to the Black Silicon Method). The following results were obtained: 1. Correlation between occlusal contact surface and masticatory force value: The above corrlation showed r=0.755, which was significant at 5%. 2. Correlation between maximum occlusal force and masticatory force value: The above correlation showed r=0.792, which was significant at 5%. 3. Correlation between occlusal contact point number and maximum occlusal force: The above correlation form T-scan showed r=0.835, which was significant at 5%.journal articl
頸部リンパ節結核の2症例
application/pdfIn this paper, two cases of tuberculosis appearing in the cervical lymph nodes are reported. Although this disease is not so common today, it still occurs. One case involves a 54-year-old man and the another involves a 51-year-old woman. In each case, a tuberculin skin test proved to be markedly positive and elevation of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate was clearly indicated; however, no abnormalities were observed on the chest radiographs. Because their swellings had a nodular appearance, it was difficult to distinguish them from malignant neck tumors. Each of the lesions excised was histopathologically diagnosed as tuberculosis. Anti-tuberculous chemotherapy was administered to each patient and no evidence of recurrence was observed in either case.journal articl
Observations on Calcified Bodies in the Cyst Wall of a Postoperative Maxillayr Cyst
application/pdfLight and scanning electron microscopic observations and electron probe microanalysis were carried out on granular calcified bodies that appeared in the wall of a postoperative maxillary cyst in a 59-year-old man. The granular bodies, stained slightly with hematoxylin, were scattered in the cyst wall. They reacted positively to von Kossa's stain indicating calcification. Based on scanning electron microscopic observation, secondary electron images revealed them to be compact bodies, and they appeared as light spots in composition images. Electron probe microanalysis revealed that the bodies were ccomposed mainly of calcium and phosphorus. Some of the large bodies had a membranous calcification core, which was observed especially in von Kossa's stained specimens. Therefore, we believe that these calcification core must be generated cell debris, cell membrane, nuclear membrane or subcellular organelles.journal articl
新しい軟質裏装材 : 光重合型軟質裏装材「Lite Line」について
application/pdfTraditional room and heat activation methods for vulcanization of soft lining materials have been widely used. However, there has always been a problem with color change, roughness of surfaces and peeling away from acrylic resin during long term clinical use. In the past few years, soft lining materials monomers and polymers have also been modified to improve not only physical and mechanical properties, but also the working properties that facilitate laboratory techniques which apply to denture construction. "Lite Line" is a one-component polyether urethane dimethacrylate resin material which is resilient in nature without the use of leachable plasticizers. Because of the similarity in the chemistry of acrylic denture bases and that material, long term adhesion to existing denture surfaces is possible. This paper presents a clinical use of visible light curing soft lining material "Lite Line" and its in vitro test of color stability.journal articl
