    The function of soil is a medium for growth and root development in supporting plants to grow and supply the need of water and nutrients to the planst roots. The issue raised in this study is how the physical properties of soil, including the texture, structure, porosity, bulk density and permeability of soil under the stand of ebony at the Natural Reserve of Pangi Binangga. Ebony is one of the endemic tree species in Sulawesi Island including Central Sulawesi. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical properties of soil under the stands of ebony at the Natural Reserve of Pangi Binangga, Parigi Moutong Regency. This study was conducted for 3 months (May-July 2013) at the Natural Reserve of Panggi Binangga, Sakina Jaya Village, Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. This study used survey and analysis in the laboratory. Soil samples were collected by using purposive sampling technique, that is, deliberately having particular consideration: the level of slope 0-8%, 8-15%, 15-25%, and 25-40%. The number of soil samples was 16 soil samples taken from the four slopes in two depths (0-30 cm and 30-60 cm). The study shows that the soil under the stands of ebony has a sandy loam soil texture class and loamy sand, structure soil crusts and granular, slight porous and porous (37.84 to 58.07%), rapid and very fast permeability (13,27 to 36,10 cm/h) and has a high and very high of bulk density of the medium (1.11 to 1.65 g/cm3).     Tarsier (Tarsius sp.) are alboreal species which life on the trees. The vegetation is one of the important biotic factors for the wild animal as a place for food, nesting places and shelter from extrim weather and hide from predators. The study aims were to determine the spesies composition and association of vegetation of tarsius (Tarsius sp.) habitat in Kamarora village. Research methods using multiple plots placed by purposive sampling at tarsier habitat. The results showed that the species composition at all levels of the growth obtained thirty two plant species. Based on the analysis of Chi-square (X2) between species at each level of the growth (seedlings, saplings, pole and tree) obtained that twenty four plant significantly associated tangible and four plant species were associated very significant.     Jabon is a plant that is being developed because including fast growing spesies, Jabon an Indonesian native spesies wich valuable high economic and have qualities that do not compote with other spesies . Jabon is a spesies of seed that can be developed trough industri plantation forest and community forest but the aspect of cultivation in the nursery often experience barries in maintenance for example wilting occurs that causes death. This research aimed to know the effect of some inoculum species of FMA ( Fungi Micorrhizal Arbucular) on the growth of jabon (Anthocephalus cadamba Roxb) seedlings. The research was conducted at green house, Forestry Faculty, Tadulako University from Desember 2013 to February 2014. The study was laid out in a Randomized Complete Design (RCD)  with four threatments, i.e : Control/without treatment (M0), Glomus mosseae (M1), Glomus clorum (M2), and Glomus deserticola (M3). The observation parameters consits of seedling height increment, diameter increment, leaf number increment, fress weight of roots and shoots, dry weight of roots and shoots and seedling quality index. The result showed that inoculation of FMA spesies significantly affected seedling growth of A. cadamba Roxb. Generally Glomus mosseae spesies was highly improves seedling of A. cadamba Roxb compared to Glomus clorum, and Glomus deserticola spesies and control.     PENGARUH MEDIA TUMBUH BEBERAPA LIMBAH SERBUK KAYU GERGAJIAN TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN JAMUR TIRAM PUTIH (Pleurotus ostreatus)

    The objectives of this study were to investigate the effects of some sawdust as growth medium on the growth and the yield of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotusostreatus). The research was conducted at Boyaoge village, Palu, Central Sulawesi from September to November 2013. This study used experimental method by Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five sawdust as treatments, i.e; Palapi (Heritierasp.) (M1), Cempaka (Elmerrilia sp.) (M2), Bayur (Pterospermumjavanicum) (M3), Gmelina (Gmelinaarborea) (M4) and Durian (Duriozibethinus) (M5).The results showed that sawdust significantly affected mycelium initiation, growth of mycelium on bag log, primordial initiation, the number of fruiting bodies, stem length, and cap diameter of mushroom. Mushrooms grew best on the sawdust mediumofCempaka (Elmerrillia sp.). The results of the study showed that sawdust of Cempaka (Elmerrillia sp.) gave the best growth with mycelium initiation was 4 days, growth of mycelium on bag log was 27,5 days, primordial initiation was 34,8 days, the number of fruiting bodies was 2, stem length was 4,9 cm, cap diameter of fruiting bodies was 9,7 cm, fresh weight of fruiting bodies was 11,4 g and dry weight of fruiting bodies was 7,5 g.     A study on the effects of two Fungi Mycorrhizal Arbuscular (FMA) species and watering interval on the growth and resistance of Aleurites moluccana Willd. Seedlings on drought condition was conducted at the farmers group nursery, Uwemanje village, Kinovaro district, Sigi regency, Central Sulawesi. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Design (RCD) with factorial pattern. First, species of  FMA consist of three treatments; without mycorrhizal inoculation/control (M0), Gigaspora margarita (M1), Glomus mosseae (M2). Second, watering interval; every day (A0), every three days (A1) and every six days (A2). Observation Parameters consist of seedling height increment, stem diameter increment, and increment of leaf number per plant, fresh weight of shoot and root, dry weight of shoot and root, and seedling quality index. The results showed that interaction between different FMA species and watering interval had significant effect only on the seedling height increment, fresh weight of shoot and root and dry weight of shoot and root, but FMA species and watering interval treatment gave significant difference on the stem diameter increment and increment of leaf number per plant.The highest growth parameters was achieved by Gigaspora margarita inoculation compared to Glomus mosseae and control treatments in all watering intervals.     RETENSI DAN EFEKTIVITAS BAHAN PENGAWET EKSTRAK DAUN CENGKEH (Syzygium aromaticum) PADA KAYU DURIAN (Durio zibethinus) TERHADAP SERANGAN RAYAP TANAH (Coptotermes sp.)

    Effectiveness of natural substance as preservative agent is needed to be further observed. One of the substances is extract of Glove (Syzygium aromaticum) leaf. This extract was considered to be effective material on Durian (Durio zibethinus) wood preservative against Subterranean termite (Coptotermes sp). The aims of this study were compare the retention and the affectiveness of preservative materials which  extracted from Glove leaf by using different method of extraction. This studi was done at Agro-technology Laboratory of Agricultural Faculty, Tadulako University, over the period of March and June 2014. Bioassay on Termite destruction was done at Maku Village, Dolo of Sigi Regency. The experiment was arranged based on Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in two different factorial patterns. The first factor was different method on leaf extraction (A) i.e. by using ethanol (A1), and by using distillated water (A2). While the second factor (B) was different time on soaking material, i.e. 1 day soaking time (B1), and 3 days were soaking time (B2). All units was performed as negative control. One percent of preservative extract was applied on each experimental unit. The outcome of this study showed that water content of axtract was 14,726% and the density was 0,463 g/cm3. The highest retention value 0,1244 g/cm3 was recorded on the treatment of 3 days ethanol extraction (A1B2), while the lowest value 0,0868 g/cm3 was detected on the treatment of 1 day water extraction. The highest value on effectiveness (or lowest rate on loss weight) 2,4075% was detected after the treatment by using 3 days ethanol extraction substance, while the lowest value 4,6818% was  measured on control unit.     This research aimed to revitalizethe local institution and its implication on the management of natural resources in Lore Lindu National Park area. The research was conducted at the village of Toro, Kulawi district, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, from October through December 2013. The method used in this study is the method of historical and institutional analysis and qualitative approach by interview process on key informants as respondents.The results showed that institutional revitalization was influenced by community needs on institution development caused social dynamics and community economy. New institutional revitalization has implication on structure and regulation change of local institution of Toro village. Institution in Toro was contributed by local leadership role particularly in determination of natural resources and social economy.     The aims of this study were to know the potency and the development of natural tourism objects in Saluki Village, Gumbasa Distric, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. The respondents were selectedby using purposive sampling methods. The study was employedStrengths-Weaknesses-Opportunities-Threats (SWOT) analysis. The results showed that the potency of natural tourisms around Maleo (Macrocephalon maleo) habitat were Maleo birds, camping ground, river, Hot water, waterfall, tracking and hiking area, and other objects for science and research development. Hence, the development form of natural tourism in this area was divided in two parts. First, an area used as nesting grounds and activities of Maleo birds.     The local wisdom is a knowledge obtained in hereditary that becomes a custom and based on the values and based on the values and norms of society. As the To`Balaesan ethnic or the original ethnic in Rano village inhibiting Tanjung Balaesang cluster lies on viscous culture covering language, religion system, and a little different physics from the other society in the area of Balaesang Tanjung sub district. The method employed was explorative descriptive with a qualitative approach through the exploration of key informants information. Thus it can describe a certain situation or a group of human systematically, factually, and accurately based on the fact in the field. The data were collected through observation and interview with a good structured guidance or free interview. The population was the Rano people. The selection of the informants was by using snow-ball sampling. The result indicates that Rano people still uphold their tradition they know from the past, seen from the land selection process, land opening and the farming process. All of it accumulated in a topomaradia tradition institution which contains a set of rules and inferences as the attitude manager norms and behavior of the ethnic society to`balaesang in Rano village.     RETENSI BAHAN PENGAWET EKSTRAK DAUN TEMBELEKAN (Lantana camara L) PADA BEBERAPA JENIS KAYU DAN EFEKTIFITASNYA TERHADAP SERANGAN RAYAP TANAH (Coptotermes sp.)

    High-grade durable wood could not be longer to meet the various needs, this caused by limited and the more expensive price, so it must use low grade durable wood. The use of low grade durable wood should be followed by the wood preservation process. This study aims to determine the preservative retention of leaves tembelekan (Lantana camara L) on bayur (Pterospermum sp), benuang (Octomeles sumatrana Miq) and durian (Durio zibethinzs) and its effectiveness against subterranean termites (Coptotermes sp), attack. It was conducted at the Laboratory of Agrotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, University Tadulako in March to june 2014. Testing Subterranean termites (Coptotermes sp) test was carried out at the Maku Village, District of Dolo, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, using a completely randomized design (CRD), with treatment of different wood species and 3 days soaking duration at a concentration of 1% preservative with 6 replications. The results show the moisture content of bayur, benuang and durian woods are 13,10%, 10,81% and 11,35% respectively. The wood densiy of bayur 0,480g/cm3, benuang 0,277 g/cm3 and durian 0,402g/cm3 and the highest retention values is found at wood of durian 59,09 g/cm3 and the highest retention values is at bayur 41,67 g/cm3. In addition, the highest weeight loss (leas effectiveness) of 15,02% on the wood of bayur (control) and the lowest (highest Effectiveness) on wood of benuang 0,72%.
