    ANALISIS EKONOMI PROSPEKTIF PENGEMBANGAN KPH DAMPELAS TINOMBO BERBASIS PHBM DI DESA KARYA MUKTI

    The research was conducted from April  to June 2013 at the village of Karya Mukti, Damsol district, Donggala regency. The research aimed to know the development prospective of forest management based community (PHBM) regarding community incoment and its respective factors, and to compare financial aspect of rubber (Hevea brassiliensis) and cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) plants before and after KPH Dampelas Tinombo development. The research  use Regresi analysis method and Net Present Value (NPV). The result showed that equtian of Regresi Y = -16890,7 + 314,9422X1 – 303,526X2 + 2042,522X3 + 20017,94X4 – 478,691X5 and the factor of X4 (amount of production of farm residing in area KPH) influential obvious of the community income. The result showed that NPV of rubber was IDR 269.096.747 while NPV of cacao was IDR 147.754.688. Hence the level community income were IDR 46.977.778, and IDR 4.340.000 year-1for each respondent, for rubber and cacao production, respectively.     A bird is a wildlife which could be found almost in any vegetated environment. The existence of a bird in one area is very important because it could affect the presence and distribution of plant species. This study aims to determine species composition, attendance of birds, evennes, species diversity, and the dominance of birds in Saembawalati Swamp Forest. The study was conducted from April to June 2013. Data collection was carried out using line transect method. After conducting the research in Saembawalati swamp forest, it was found 34 species of birds from 15 families, swamp forest habitat tree vegetation zones have indeks values species diversity (H') = 2.75 and evenness (E) = 0.11 and swamp forest habitat zones has turf vegetation index values species diversity (H')=3.00 and evennes (E) = 0.10. There were four species of birds that are always found in the swamp forest of Saembawalati; Egretta garzetta, Gallinula chloropus, Phaenicophaeus calyorhynchus, and Amaurornis phoenicurus. Hence, Saembawalati swamp forest was dominated by four species of birds; Bubulcus ibis, Egretta garzetta, Dicrurus hottentottus, Phaenicophaeus calyorhynchus.     Indonesia is a tropical that has vast forest regions. The existence of the forest region is national asset must be managed continuously and developed to the better way so that they can be sustainable utilized. Herbal plant is a kind of forest product non wood which useful for ecology, social-cultural, or economic that must be managed as long as the utilization rationally to nowadays generation needs and the fature. The objective of the research was to find out the difersity of herbal plants located in preserved forest utilised by Tindoli people at Tindoli village of South East Pamona Sub District Poso Regency. The vegetation analysis method in the field was multi plots method which purposively done. The vegetation specimen taking was done by emloying 20 plots specimen located in spread. The size of the observation plots was 20m x 20m made as 20 plots that the whole wide of observation plots was 0.8 ha. The research result done in preserved forest at Tindoli Village of South East Pamona Sub District Poso Regency found that there were 25 kinds of herbal plants including 21 familes. For each of tree vegetation level, it was obtained the kind of diversity index 1.87, pople vegetation level 1.96, stake vegetation level 1.76, seedling vegetation level and plants 2.43. based on the index calculation of herbal plants diversity at the preserved forest in Tindoli Village from herbal plants of seedling level and underground plants, stake level, pople level, they were generally categorized low.     Land use and forest harvesting (timber and non-timber) could lead to the opening of ground cover. This activity would lead to disruption of physical properties, chemical and biological soil, especially in the top soil.The purpose of this study was to determine the physical properties of soil on different types of land use, i.e in primary forest, agroforestry and cocoa plantation in the sub-watershed Wera Saluopa which is part of the sub-watershed area of Maraoa Koronjongi. The study was conducted from May till July 2013, on the various types (primary forest, cocoa plantation and agroforestry land) for soil sampling, laboratory analysis of soil samples and analysis of data. Study site selection was purposive sampling where Saluopa Wera Sub-watershed, in the village of Leboni, District Puselemba Pamona, Poso Regency of Central Sulawesi.The results showed that the physical properties of the soil at various types of land use in the sub-watershed of WeraSaluopa have sandy loam soil texture, soil permeability varies from very slow (primary forest) to very fast (agroforestry), soil porosity from 49.93% (primary forest) to 54.04% (cocoa plantation) with high bulk density ≥ 1.0. Hence, the highest of soil organic matter was in primary forest(7.09) followed by cocoa plantation (5.86) and agroforestry land (4,12).     This research aimed to know form of the farmers group organization in Pakuli village and determine the problems that faced by them in Pakuli village, Gumbasa district, Sigi regency, Central Sulawesi. Data was collected by using questionnair and in-depth interviews on respondents. The total number of respondents were twenty five. Theres pondents were selected by using purposive sampling method with qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that form of the farmer group organization in Pakuli village was a formal organization and it is exist before SCBFWM programs were introduced and implemented in this area. Hence, organization problems that causes farmers group go out from SCBFWM supervising were imbalance of actions, leadership and social gaps. Keywords: Organization form, farmers group, SCBFM

    The forest product of non-timber is one of the forest resources, which is directly related to societies who live around the forest. The forest product of non-timber, such as candlenut can give or increase the revenue of people who live around the forest. Candlenut (Aleurites moluccana (L) Wild) is one of commodity that is potentially to be developed. This research aims to know the marketing channel of candlenut (A. moluccana (L) Wild) product and to help society in solving their problem; either development of their business or improvement their income from candlenut in Bakubakulu village, Palolo, Sigi regency. The collecting data techniques used in this research were sampling purposive and snowball sampling. The purpose sampling is a sample determining technique with certain consideration. The certain consideration criteria is the candlenut farmer in Bakubakulu area. The sample determination was 25% of the total population. The sample determining technique was done by snowball sampling technique; i.e. a sample determining technique, which is originally small amount and become large amount of sample later on. The results, there showed that are two marketing channels of candlenut in Bakubakulu. The first one is from farmers to a small collector to a big collector in Bakubakulu to a wholesaler in Mamuju regency, West Sulawesi. The second way is from farmers to a big collector in Bakubakulu to a wholesaler in Mamuju. The analysis of total marketing margin of candlenut in Bakubakulu is the same i.e. 6.97%. The results of efficiency analysis of the candlenut marketing in Bakubakulu are different for each channel. The efficiency of the first channel marketing is 1.12% and the second channel is 1.67%.     Mangrove forest grows on transition of land and sea area which plants community grow on salty tolerance. Naturally properties of mangrove soil can be a standard on asessing its potency and productivity. The aim of this research was to investigate the physical properties of mangrove forest soil.The usage of  this research are to enrich knowledge about physical properties of mangrove forest soil and may be as an input on mangrove forest development. This research was conducted in mangrove forest of Tumpapa Village Balinggi District, Parigi Moutong Regency, as long as three months (September up to December 2013) by using descriptive method. Descriptive research is research that intends to create a description of situations or events in the field. The placement of sampling plots purposive sampling methode with one plot in each of mangrove forest zonation. Collected soil samples were analyzed of soil textures, colours, and permeabilities. This research results shown that the soil of zone that anytime flooded has dusty-clayey clay texture, upper layer has gray colour, bottom layer has black colour, and slow permeability; the soil of zone with moderate tide flooded has dusty clay texture, upper layer has black colour, bottom layer has brown colour, and moderate permeability; the soil of zone with high tide flooded has dusty clay texture, upper layer has brown colour, and moderate permeability; and soil of transition area has clay texture, upper layer has brown colour, sub layer has black colour, bottom layer has gray colour,and slow permeability.     PERTUMBUHAN SEMAI NYATOH (Palaquium sp.) PADA BERBAGAI PERBANDINGAN MEDIA DAN KONSENTRASI PUPUK ORGANIK CAIR DI PERSEMAIAN

    The aims of this research was to determine the effects of some growing medium and concentration of organic liquid fertilizer on the growth of Palaquium sp seedlings. The research was conducted from April to July 2013, at the Permanent Nursery, Tadulako University, Palu Central Sulawesi. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Design (RCD) with factorial pattern. First, growing medium consist of four treatments; soils/control (P0), Soils+Sand+Compos 1:1:1 (P1), Soils+Sand+Compos 2:1:1 (P2), Soils+Sand+Compos 3:1:1 (P3). Second, concentration of organic liquid fertilizer; 0 ppm/kontrol (C0), 1,0 ppm (C1), 1,5 ppm (C2) and 2,0 ppm (C3). Observation Parameters consist of seedling height increment, stem diameter increment, and increment of leaf number per plant. The results of the study showed that there were significant differences between the treatments in all the parameters assessed. The highest seedling height increment (16,4 cm) was achieved by combination treatment between P2C2. The highest stem diameter increment (0,32 mm) was also achieved by combination treatment between P0C1. Hence, for the single effect of the treatments, the highest leaf number increment was achieved by Soils+Sand+Compos 2:1:1 treatment (P2) and concentration of organic liquid fertilizer 1,5 ppm (C2) with value 6,05 and 6,15 pieces, respectively.     PENGARUH KONSENTRASI DAN LAMA PERENDAMAN BAHAN PENGAWET DAUN TEMBELEKAN (Lantana camara L.) PADA KAYU BAYUR (Pterospermum sp.) TERHADAP SERANGAN RAYAP TANAH (Coptotermes sp.)

    There are about ± 4.000 wood species in Indonesia. In small amount of that woods were categorized as durable wood (Class I and II) while mostly (80-85%) were categorized non-durable wood (Class III to V). This study was aimed to determine the effects of Lantana camara L. leaves extracts as preservation material of Pterospermum sp wood on the Coptotermes sp. attacks. The experiment was conducted in the laboratory of Forestry science, Forestry Faculty, Tadulako University, from May to June 2013. The study was using completely randomized design with pattern. The treatment of study was applying two factors. First, concentration of L.camara L. extracts with three levels, namely ;9,09 g (K1), 13,04 g (K2), and 16,66 g (K3). Second, Dipping time with three levels, namely: 1 day (L1), 3 days (L3), and 5 days (L5). Data was analyzed by using analysis (Anova).The results showed that water contents and density of Pterospermum sp. woods was 8,37% and 0,321 g/cm³, respectively. Hence, the highest weight loss was achieved by K1L1 combination treatment (9,99%) while the lowest was achieved by K3L5 combination treatment (8,93%). Generally, concentration of L.camara L. and dipping time extracts did not affect significantly the weight loss of Pterospermum sp woods.     STUDI HABITAT MONYET BOTI (Macaca tonkeana) DI HUTAN LINDUNG DESA SANGGINORA KECAMATAN POSO PESISIR SELATAN KABUPATEN POSO

    Few studies have explicitly determine the habitat of monyet boti (Macaca tonkeana) in nature reserve areas in Central Sulawesi. The outcome of this research is to give basic information concerning the conservation and captivation of Macaca tonkeana as an endemic and endangered animal in Sulawesi. Here in, we reported upon the results of the habitat of Macaca tonkeana in protection forest area, Sangginora village, Poso Pesisir Selatan district, Poso, Central Sulawesi.The study was conducted on March through May 2014. Five sample plots were made by the size of 20 x 20 m. Ploting was done by purposive sampling method. Hence vegetation date were analysed to determine the density, frequency, dominant, and Importance Value Index. The results showed that there were 40 plant species comprising 25 families in this area. Four plants species were used by Macaca tonkeana as food sources. The highest important value index (IVI) was achieved by Ficus sp (45,43%), while the lowest Important value index was achieved by Melochia umbellate and Rapanea spec (6,75%). Nunu (Ficus sp) is an important source of food, especially the fruit, parts of the plant are eaten fruit and leaves. Further more, the abiotic condition of the habitat including; temperature (24ºC-27ºC) and relative humidity (69%-72%) and located at 747 m asl.   Keywords: Habitat, Macaca tonkeana, Protection forest, Important Value Index
