    KOMPOSISI JENIS DAN PENGUASAAN EKOLOGI DI WILAYAH DESA PANGI KAWASAN CAGAR ALAM PANGI BINANGGA KABUPATEN PARIGI MOUTONG

    This research aimed to study the number of occupation of species composition in Pangi-Binangga Nature Reserve area. The research was conducted in Pangi-Binangga Nature Reserve area, village of Pangi, Parigi District, Parigi Motong Regency, Central Sulawesi, from April through Juni 2013. This study uses continous strip sampling method. Twenty plots (400m x 400m) were made in each line. The sampling intensity was 16 ha (5%) from the total 6000 ha of Pangi-Binangga Nature Reserve area. Hence vegetation date were analysed to determine the density, frequency, dominant, and Importance Value Index. The results showed that the highest Importance Value Index at tree level of vegetation was Pterospermum celebicum Miq. (25,08%), while at pole and sapling level, the highest IVI was Diospyros celebica Bakh with value 13,72% and 19,34%, respectively. Furthermore, the highest IVI at seedling level was Spathoglottis aurea (13,24%). Keywords : Species composition, Ecology occupation, Important Value Index, Pangi-Binangga Nature Reserve

    The purpose of this study was to determine the public perception and response on the Strengthening Community-based Forest and Watershed Management (SCBFWM) programs. The research was conducted in the Sub DAS Miu, village of Simoro, Gumbasa District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, from May through Juni 2013. Primary and secondary data were collected by using questionnaires and in-depth interviews on respondents. The total number of respondents were fourty. The main respondent was determined by using purposive sampling method, with the consideration that the respondent is stakeholder that directly involved in the SCBFWM programs. The results showed that communities had high understanding on SCBFWM programs. Further, the perception and response of communities were also categorized in high level. It is indicated that communities were favourable on that programs. Based on the Likert scale, the response of communities on the SCBFWM programs was also classified to strong and very good level.     Tarsius (Tarsius pumilus) is the smallest mammals in the world and some of the species are classified to the endemic species of Sulawesi island, Indonesia. Tarsius is a member of tarssidae family. The aims of this study were to determine bio-physics characteristics of tarsius habitats at the mount Rorekatimbu. Research was performed as field research at Mount Rorekatimbu, Lore Lindu National Park, Central Sulawesi. This research was conducted from February through April 2014.Ninet sample plots were made by the size of 20x20 m. Ploting was done by purposive sampling method around tarsius habitats.Hence vegetation date were analysed to determine the density, frequency, dominant, and Importance Value Index.The results showed that the highest importance value index (IVI) at the tree and pole level was Castanopsis acuminatissima (Blume) A.DC with the value 109,88% and 71,74%, respectively. At the sapling level, the highest IVI was achieved by Pinanga cease Blume with the value 80,90%, and at the seedling level, the highest IVI was achieved by Calamus sp with the value 36,77%. Furthermore, the abiotic condition of the habitat including; temperature (14ºC-20ºC) and relative humidity (64%-83%) and located at 2031mtill 2084 m asl.     ANALISIS VEGETASI HABITAT ANGGREK DI SEKITAR DANAU TAMBING KAWASAN TAMAN NASIONAL LORE LINDU

    The research objective were to analyze the vegetation of orchid habitat and to determine orchids species around Tambing Lake, Lore Lindu National Park area, Sedoa village, Lore Utara district, Poso regency, Central Sulawesi. The study employed survey method. The vegetation was recorded in 20m x 20m plots by using purposive sampling methods in orchid habitat. The collected data include all plant species and growth level swithin the sampling plot. The total observation area was 0,16 ha. The results showed that the total number of tree level of plant species recorded was 38 species comprising 9 families with the highest Importance Value Index (IVI) was 61,62%. The total number of pole level of plant species recorded was 34 species comprising 7 families with the highest IVI was 74, 43%. The total number of sapling level of plant species recorded was 37 species comprising 9 families with the highest IVI was 65,41%. Hence, The total number of seedling level of plant species recorded was 31 species comprising 7 families with the highest IVI was 49,34%. The highest IVI at all growth levels was achieved by Kaha (Castanopsis accuminatisima). In addition, there were 12 orchid species comprising 8 genus founded in this area,i.e; Agrostophyllum, Bulbophyllum, Calanthe, Coelogyne, Dendrobium, Dendrochyllum, Eria, and Trichotosia.     SIFAT KIMIA TANAH PADA BERBAGAI ZONASI HUTAN MANGROVE DI DESA TUMPAPA KECAMATAN BALINGGI KABUPATEN PARIGI MOUTONG

    A study was conducted to determine soil chemical properties in zonation of mangrove forest, Tumpapa village, Balinggi district, Parigi Moutong regency, Central Sulawesi.We measured these effects by quantifying some chemical soil analysis were done on soil samples taken at depths 0-60cm. Soil samples were collected from the field by using paralon cylinders at four different zonation; transition zone (Rhizophora apiculata, Bruguiera, Ceriops and Xylocarpus), high tidal zone (Rhizophora apiculata and Bruguiera gymnorhiza), middle tidal zone (Rhizophora apiculata) and low tidal zone (Rhizophora styllosa and Rhizophora mucronata), respectively. The results showed that chemical soil properties in transition zone were pH 7.2, C-organic 0.75%, total N 0.13%, available P 8.68% and cation exchange capacities 22.17 me/100 g. At the high tidal zone were pH 6.4, C-organic 2.46%, total N 0.27%, available P 9.14% and cation exchange capacities 24.16 me/100 g. At the middle tidal zone were pH 6.1, C-organic 2.55%, total N 0.26%, available P 9.32% and cation exchange capacities 24.54 me/100 g. Hence, At the low tidal zone were pH 6.7, C-organic 1.71%, total N 0.15%, available P 10.41% and cation exchange capacities 23.11 me/100 g.     PENGARUH BERBAGAI DOSIS PUPUK ORGANIK CAIR URIN SAPI TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN SEMAI JABON MERAH (Anthocephalus macrophyllus (Roxb.) Havil)

    Jabon Red (Anthocephalus macrophyllus Roxb.) Havil.) is a timber species that is currently intensively planted by people of Indonesia because it has a rapid growth and multi-function. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of various doses of liquid organic fertilizer of cow urine on the growth of Jabon Red seedlings (Anthocephalus macrophyllus Roxb) Havil). The experiment was conducted at the Green House and Forestry Science Laboratory, Forestry Faculty, Tadulako University, on March to May 2014. This study employed a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of five levels of treatment, they are M0 = 0 ml / liter of water (control) M1 = 150 ml / liter of water, M2 = 250 ml / liter of water, the M3 = 350 ml / liter of water, M4 = 450 ml / liter of water. On these five treatments, they were replicated in each of four replications, so that, the total seedlings required were 20 samples. Observed variables are the increase of plant height, leaf number, diameter, fresh weight and dry weight of Jabon seedling. To find out the difference between treatments, then, it was tested Honestly Significant Difference (HSD). The results of this study addressed that dosing of liquid organic fertilizer of cow urine, having an extremely significant effects on seedling growth of Jabon Red (Anthocephalus macrophyllus Roxb) Havil. This was evidenced by the increase in plant height, leaf number, diameter, fresh weight and dry weight of Jabon seedling compared to jabon seedling without fertilizer. Dosing 150ml / l of water gives better Jabon seedling growth, of all treatments were tested with an average of 6.38 cm increase in plant height, number of leaves strands was 6.50, diameter of trunk was 1.65 mm, fresh weight of shoots was 5.56 grams and dry weight of shoots was 0.55 grams.     The purpose of this study was to know compatibility planning documents of forest production management with techniques and field conditions. The research was conducted at Production Forest Management Unit (KPHP) Model Dampelas Tinombo, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi. Study was done by survey and explorative-description methods with qualitative approach. The results showed that documents of forest production management of KPHP Model Dampelas Tinombo compatible with Pedoman Petunjuk Teknis Dirjen Planologi Kehutanan Nomor: P.5/VII-WP3H/2012.     VARIASI FENOTIP DAN GENOTIP EBONI (Diospyros celebica Bakh) PADA HUTAN ALAM DAN HUTAN TANAMAN DI SULAWESI TENGAH DAN SULAWESI BARAT

    The aim of this research are to know phenotype and genotype diversity between population of ebony on the forest in Sulawesi specially from Central Sulawesi and West Sulawesi. The study was conducted from January to April 2014, extraction of  DNA has been done in laboratory of  Biotechnology, faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Tadulako University and DNA analysis in Kyoto Perfectural University, Japan. PCR-RAPD technique was employed in this study with 4 RAPD primers. Sample from 9 population in natural forest and plant forest in Central Sulawesi and West Sulawesi and all leaf sample taken show different. There were 2 primary that resulting the best amplifying quality in genotype diversity analysis that was TCH05 and AS9870. There is unique bands on DNA fragment from Lende area, has band size 2500-3000bp while from ebony individu sample from other area locus cannot be found. Based on dendogram analysis on distance matrix revealed the 10 genotypes were grouped into two main groups. The first group population from Lende. The second group was further divided into two sub group (2A and 2B). Subgroup 2A consisted of Diospyros kaki. Subgroup 2B included population from Ako, Tibo, Bale, Tompe, Maleali, and Kasimbar.     TINGKAT KERUSAKAN HUTAN MANGROVE PANTAI DI DESA MALAKOSA KECAMATAN BALINGGI KABUPATEN PARIGI MOUTONG

    The main cause of mangrove destruction was due to land convertion to housing, aquaculture, illegal loging. Those uncontroled activities was neglect to consider the environmental preservation. Malakosa is one of the village which has mangrove forest, however most of the forest was declining in number, it is therefore important research on the extent of damage to be done in orderto manage the mangrove forest. This phenomenon had motivated this research to investigate the extend and the caused of mangrove forest destruction in Malakosa village, Balinggi district, Parigi Moutong Regency. This research employ Nested Sampling Method. Data was collected from three path. These includes path 1 at second floodgate, path 2 at first floodgate, and path 3 at third floodgate. Physic and water chemical parameter observations was also conducted at these three different floodgates. The result shows that the extend of mangrove forest destruction at malakosa village is between good to severe range continum, with density rate of 6700 btg/ha (low destruction), 1300 btg/ha (modest destruction), and 100 btg/ha (high destruction). Although the physic and water chemical effects on observation stations was still in good conditions, the salinity parameter and iron (Fe) parameters was found to be above the accepted standard.Keyword: Destruction, Forest, Mangrov

    KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS PAKAN LEBAH MADU HUTAN (Apis spp) DI KAWASAN HUTAN LINDUNG DESA ENSA, KECAMATAN MORI ATAS, KABUPATEN MOROWALI UTARA

    Research on the species diversity of food source trees for forest honey bee (Apis spp) has been conducted on protected forest at Ensa Village, Mori Atas Sub District, Mori Utara District.  The reasearch aimed at studying food source trees composition along with their diversity indeces for the honey bee.  The method used to analyse those vegetation was blocked line transect with sampling intensity of 6.25% covering an area of 16 ha that divided into five lines each with five observation plots.  The results of the research showed that there were 490 individuals from 43 species, 34 families, within which it was identified that 35 species from 30 families out of the are being food source trees for the honey bee.  The parts of the tree that is used as food were nectar and polen of tree flowers.  The diversity indeces (H’) for those species at tree, pole, sappling and seedling level, respectively, of  2.90, 2.94, 3.22, and 2.84.  As such, based on the identied indeces,  the diversity at tree, pole and seedling level are categorized as medium (1H’≤3) while for sappling level was high (H’≥3).  Overall, the species diversity for food source trees at the protected forest are abundantly available.
