PELIBATAN MASYARAKAT DALAM KEGIATAN KEBUN BIBIT RAKYAT (KBR) DI DESA SOLONSA KECAMATAN WITA PONDA KABUPATEN MOROWALI
Forest condition in the Solonsa village, Wita Ponda district, Morowali regency and surrounding it is quite alarming nowadays. The damage that causes flood, droughts and landslides are the main factors that triggered the criticality and land degradation in some rural areas of Solonsa. The damage can be rehabilitated by involving the community to participate in a forestry program, in this case, the activity to make people’s nurseries (KBR). The program is devoted to the manufacture enrichment plant reforestation in Solonsa village. This research aimed at finding the community involvement in the activities of the people’s nurseries. This results are expected to be a useful written input to the government and non-governmental organization to carry out the nurseries program activities. The experimental method used in this research. This method is used in solving the problem by exploring the causal relationship of two or more variables through accurate experimentation. Software statistical program for social science (SPSS) used for the easiness data management and provisioning. The results show that the correlation between internal factors and community involvement, in relation to the age factor with the (0,266), education (0,056), the number of dependents (0,182), revenue (-0,163) was low toward the people’s nurseries activity. ANALISIS TEMPORAL PERUBAHAN LAHAN HUTAN MANGROVE DI KECAMATAN BALINGGI KABUPATEN PARIGI MOUTONG
Development are the processes of land conversion for community needs of infrastructure and facilities that required for development of a region. In the process, there are land diversions that cost the value of land ecologic. It was replaced by economic function of mangrove. Moreover, in every month and year, in Balinggi district, mangrove forest is became embankment area. This research aims at finding out the change of mangrove’s area which happened since 2005 until 2013 in Balinggi district. The research was conducted in Balinggi district, Parigi Moutong regency on the area of mangrove. It was done in three months, from May to August 2014. The researcher used data of Landsat 7 ETM+ (acquisition 2005) and Landsat 8 (acquisition 2013) to support his data. Data Landsat was analyzed by using AcrGIS 10.0 software with some steps. They are Geometric correction and radiometric; interpretation and classification (supervised classification); and NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) analysis. In 2005, the extensive of mangrove’s land was 609.47 Ha, then became 524,15 Ha in 2013. The area decreased about 85.47 Ha. Moreover, the result of NDVI showed that there were changes of mangrove land in 2013. From all the mangrove area in Balinggi district, its density was categorized into three levels. They were lush (265.75 Ha/2.38%), medium (79.21 Ha/ 17.31%), and rare (178.19 ha/33.99%). Keywords : Mangrove, Balinggi, Vegetatioin Index, NDVI, Landsat
KARAKTERISTIK HUTAN MANGROVE DI DESA BOLOBUNGKANG KECAMATAN LOBU KABUPATEN BANGGAI
Mangrove forest is one of unique forest ecosystem form which brings land and sea territory. Mangrove forest has specific characters in tidal areas, coastal marine zone and Small Islands in Bolobungkang village, Luwuk-Banggai of Central Sulawesi Province. The study aimed to edetermine Mangrove forest characteristic. Plot is used as the methodology which is placed into a strip with size 10m x 10m for tree level, 5m x 5m for stake level and 2m x 2m for seedling level which set into 20 strip plots along 2 strips. The sampling used is soil sampling which is conducted in aqueous (forward) and in near land area (back). The characteristics of Mangrove forest habitat in Bolobungkang village are loam, sandy loam and dusty loam. The PH ranges 3. 9 – 3. 0 and salinity ranges 2, 73 – 2, 69 per mile. The highest INP for the tree and the stake level is Rhizophora mucronatawith with the value of 116, 86 % and 125, 22 % while the highest of SDR is Rhizophora apiculata with a value of 93, 94 %. PERTUMBUHAN TANAMAN EBONI (Diospyros celebica Bakh) PADA BERBAGAI NAUNGAN
Ebony (Diospyros celebica Bakh.) is a luxirious wood that very popular either in or abroad. The regeneration level of ebony in nature is low enough, it is caused of its semitolerant characterictic and its slowly growth,which on its seedling level, ebony needs shelter plants and at the time of secondary branch formed, it needs light intensity that should increase along its growth. The aim of the research was to find out the growth of Ebony plant in various shelter. The allocation time was began on May to August 2015. The research used Group Randomized design that consisted of 4 treatments and 2 groups as follow: slope tilt 50and 40, so there were 8 unit of trials. One unit of trial consisted of 5 seedling that the total planted was 4 × 2 × 5 = 40 seedling. The result of the research showed that shelter treatment of 90% (N4) resulted the increase of the highest number of Ebony seedling leaves was (`2,7sheets) and the smallest 0% (N1) as (0,02 sheet),the shelter treatment of (70% (N3) gave a better response to the height increase of ebony seedling was (1,01 cm) and the lowest 0% (N1) was (0,09 cm), and the width of ebony seedling leaves was (25,39 cm2) and the lowest 0% (N1) was (0,79 cm2), and the shelter treatment of 40% (N2)gave a better reponse to the diameter increase of ebony stem seedling was (0,35 mm) and the lowest of 0% (N1) was (0,02 mm).Keywords : Ebony, Diospyros celebica Bakh,Shelter, Growth
SIFAT FISIK TANAH PADA HUTAN TANAMAN KEMIRI, LAHAN AGROFORESTRI DAN LAHAN HUTAN SEKUNDER DI DESA LABUAN KUNGGUMA KABUPATEN DONGGALA SULAWESI TENGAH
The aim of this research was to find the physical characters of the soil in candlenut forest, agroforestry and secondary forest area at Labuan village Kungguma Donggala District of Central Sulawesi. This research was begun from location orientation, deciding three swath spots which were: candlenut forest, agroforestry area (teak and cocoa) and secondary forest. In deciding the location, purposive sampling was applied. From three locations, 5 samples of soil were taken so that there were 15 samples of soil taken. From five soil samples of one sample location were composed into one soil sample for next three soil samples analyzed in Geology laboratory. The result of the research showed that the conversion of the secondary forest into agroforestry and candlenut forest could reduce the physical characters of the soil (permeability, porosity, Bluk density, and organic material of the soil). POLA PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT DI HULU SUB DAERAH ALIRAN SUNGAI MIU (Kasus Penerapan Program SCBFWM di Desa Winatu Kecamatan Kulawi Kabupaten Sigi Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah)
Sub watershed catchment area of Miu river is located at Sigi Regency that has 70.494,5 hectare width. Part of the watershed become critical land since the community has less understanding and knowledge in land management. The community use the land just for economic reason that is for fullfill their daily need without think about how to manage the land in right way so that land still in productive condition along time. This research aims are: (a) Knowing pattern of empowering commnunity, (b) Identifiying community group that involved on empowering activities, (c) Knowing accompanying methode on applied empowering community program, (d) Knowing obstacles on applied empowering community activities at upstream of sub watershed catchment area of Miu river. This research used interviewing methode, and as respondence are field facilitators and community. The research data collecting include primary and secondary datas. The primary data need to answer research aims, while the secondary data need as supporting data analysis. The research result shown that empowering community activity in Winatu village has succed in target reaching, and can give contribution on SCBFWM project persistence. Pattern of empowering community that is given by SCBFWM project are establishment of farming group (CBO) Ulu Miu Pewatua, independency training to the group, contonuous socialization, land rehabilitation, developing agicultural and animal husbandry efforts, and improvement on structure of farming group institution. The obstacles on empowering commnunity process direct to the non technicalproblems i.e. access problems to the location, activity level of the community and the topography condition of hilly Winatu village.Keywords: empowering community, Miu river, pattern, SCBFWM, watershed catchment
PERAN SERTA KELOMPOK TANI DALAM PELESTARIAN HUTAN MANGROVE DI KAWASAN KABONGA BESAR KECAMATAN BANAWA KABUPATEN DONGGALA
Mangrove forest is a group of plant species that grow along tropical coast line to sub tropical coast line that has special function in the environment that contain salt and a land of coast. Mangrove forest is primary ecosystem in supporting an important life in coastal and ocean area. Other of its ecological fucntion as nutrient supllier for water biota, other biota, beach abrasion preventative, lunge of typhoon and tsunami, waste absorber, sea water interusion preventative. Mangrove ecosistem has function of supporting of higher human life than other ecosistem because of the very high primary productivity. Central Sulawesi has mangrove forests that spread in some areas one of them is in Kabonga Besar village. The research was conducted from April 2015 up to May 2015 in Kabonga Besar village Banawa subdistrict Donggala district, that aimed to find out how the active role of farmers community in preserving the mangrove forest in Kabonga Besar village Banawa subdistrict Donggala district. The data gathering was done by observing and interviewing with questionnaire. The data analysis used quantitative descriptive and used double Regresi linear analysis. The result of the research showed that the role form of farmers community in Kabonga Besar village Banawa subdistrict Donggala district that not throwing waste to the mangrove ecosystem, and not parking boat on mangrove ecosystem. The factor of work program was the factor that influenced mostly in the efforts of the mangrove preservation by the farmer community in Kabonga Besar village Banawa subdistrict Donggala district..Keywords: Farmers community, Mangrove forest, Kabonga Besar area.
STUDI KOMPOSISI DAN POTENSI VEGETASI HUTAN PRODUKSI DI WILAYAH KPHP MODEL DAMPELAS TINOMBO DESA LEMBAH MUKTI KECAMATAN DAMPELAS KABUPATEN DONGGALA
Forests play an important role in supporting the survival of life of living creatures, especially human beings, forests do not only provide immediate benefits as a source of forest timber and non-timber forest but also provide indirect benefits as a regulator of water management, soil fertility, erosion control, and landslides. So the existence must be maintained through regulation functions of forests. Therefore, KPHP is an institution that is closely related to the setting function of the forest. Forest production in the region KPHP Dampelas – Tinombo as the territory of Lembah Mukti village that damage has an area of about 735 hectares, therefore, requires a basic data about the composition and the potential production forest in Lembah Mukti village of using planning, management of forests and development of plantation forests. The research was conducted for 3 months starting from June to September 2014, in a production forest in Lembah Mukti village. The aims of research to determined the composition and potential vegetation in forest production. This research uses purposive sampling line continue, with the number of observation plots as much as 30 plots with a size of 20 m x 20 m. Production forest composition Lembah Mukti village consists of 25 types of vegetation, at the level of the tree in the plot as many as 169 individuals from 20 types of vegetation, while poles as many as 102 individuals of 14 species and seedlings stage as many as 73 individuals from 10 types of vegetation. Volume tree in the plot observations as much as 164,13 m3 of 169 individuals, the type of Tapi – tapi (Haplolobus cellebicus) has the most volume with 51,22 m3 and the volume level of the pole inside the plot observations as much as 15,71 m3 of 126 individuals, Jabon types (Anthocepalus cadamba) has the highest volume with 4,13 m3.Keywords : Composition studies, Potential vegetation, Forest production
KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS BURUNG PADA KAWASAN HUTAN LINDUNG KPH DAMPELAS TINOMBO DI DESA SIBUALONG KEC. BALAESANG KAB. DONGGALA
There are 1,539 bird species found in Indonesia, 381 of those species are endemic to Indonesia and 250 species endemic spread around Wallacea region.Wallacea region includes Sulawesi Island and nearby islands, they are Banggai Island, Sula Island, Nusa Tenggara Island, and Maluku Island.Birds are fauna which can be found from the lowlands to highlands, both in natural area or any other areas.The study about Birds’ species was conducted on March until May 2015 in order to determine composition, level of presence, diversity index, evenness index, and dominance of bird species in Protected Forest of Forest Management Unit Dampleas Tinombo, Sibualong Village, Balaesang Sub district, Donggala District. The method used was line transect method which function to record bird species. This method was applied to the research object along predetermined transects. Length line of transect is 500 meters.There are 4 line transects.The study result shows that there are 29 bird species represent 20 families with the total number of all species are 98 birds. There are several bird species were found from all observation center with level of presence is 100% type of forest habitat which is known well as brown-throated sunbird (Antrepthesmalacensis).Diversity index of bird species according to the type of forest habitat is about H '= 3.060394, whereas in open habitat is H' = 2.589035.Based on t test, for the diversity index discovered that there is no difference between the types of forest habitat and open habitat in the observation center, then it is concluded that H0 is accepted.Key words: diversity species, birds, protected fores
KESAMAAN KOMUNITAS BURUNG DI LEMBAH PALU SULAWESI TENGAH
This study was conducted at three locations in the Palu Valley conservation area, namely in Paneki, Wera and Ngatabaru. Research on the types of birds at each study site by using a modification of the method IPA (Indices Ponctuel d'Abondance). All sites have found as many as 59 species of birds with a total population of 849 were included in 33 families. Grey-rumped treeswift bird is a bird species dominant at all the study sites. Overall the types of birds from one location to study the similarity rate is low (<50%). Location of the greatest degree of similarity are Wera and Ngatabaru by 49%, then Wera and Paneki of 47% and location Paneki and Ngatabaru by 43%.Keywords: Similarity communities, birds, Palu valle
