EVALUASI PENGGUNAAN TES BINET
Sejak pertama kali Tes Inteligensi Stanford-Binet dikenal dan digunakan di Amerika Serikat, banyak evaluasi dan kritik yang telah dilontarkan terhadap tes tersebut. EFEK SELEKSI AITEM BERDASAR DAYA DISKRIMINASI TERHADAP RELIABILITAS SKOR TES
Seventy three items of IPA (science) test used in the 2006 University of Gadjah Mada under‐graduate admission procedure (Utul UM UGM) were analyzed to reveal the effect of eliminating items based on corrected item‐total correlation coefficient on reliability of the test. Computations of reliability estimates for four different lengths of test (n=11.287) showed that reducing less discriminating items did not lower reliability coefficients as predicted by Spearman‐Brown prophecy. In fact, length of test was practically irrelevant to reliability coefficient when the test consisted of highly discriminating items

Pengertian 1 validitas (validity) telah ki-ta kenal lewat tulisan Hadi (1977), Masrun(1979), Azwar (1997) serta Suryabrata(2000). Pengertian validitas pada keempattulisan tersebut mengacu pada pengertianyang dihasilkan oleh komisi gabunganantara APA (American Psychological Asso-ciation), AERA (American EducationalResearch Association) dan the NationalCouncil on Measurement Used in Educationyang membagi tiga macam validitas, yakni(a) Validitas isi (content validity), (b)Validitas konstruk (construct validity) serta(c) Validitas berdasarkan kriterium (crite-rion-related validity) (Kerlinger, 1986;Kerlinger & Lee, 2000). Ketiga macamvaliditas tadi berkaitan dengan masalahpengukuran (measurement) yang inti po-koknya menyangkut sejauhmana sebuahalat ukur psikologis dapat dipercayamengukur apa yang seharusnya diukur(Suryabrata, 2000). Psikologi Anti-Materialisme
Materialism is a widely used term to identify values or life orientation that stresses the importance of having wealth in life. Approximately 30 years’ worth of studies on materialism have concluded that materialistic orientation, both caused and influenced, unhappiness. Recent studies of materialism begin to test the hypothesis that change/decrease in materialism affects changes/increase in happiness or well - being, raising suggestions to support values contrary to materialism which is healthier for human life. Values opposite to materialism can be counteracted as anti - materialism. In psychology, this concept has not been expl ored, seen from the absence of an empirical study that seeks to know the anti - materialist values. The purpose of writing this article is to inform that anti - materialism may be investigated and developed.
