    Analysis of Self-Regulation in the Rencong Telang Islamic Society Perspective of Social Cognitive Theory

    The Rencong Telang Islamic society reflects distinctive cultural characteristics and unique values, particularly in the self-regulation system involving religious norms and local traditions. The individual's ability to control behavior and adapt to societal values is a key element in understanding behavior, especially in social and religious contexts. This research aims primarily to delve into and comprehensively analyze the phenomenon of self-regulation in the Rencong Telang Islamic society. Specific objectives include exploring the concepts and practices of self-regulation, involving religious norms, local traditions, and cultural values that shape self-regulation. This article also aims to analyze the role of self-regulation in various aspects of community life, ranging from worship to marriage customs and communal land management. Focus is also given to the social challenges and changes faced by the Rencong Telang Islamic society to understand how self-regulation can uphold traditional values. The method used is literature review, encompassing an analysis of relevant literature on self-regulation, Islamic society, and the specific context of the Rencong Telang Islamic society. The research findings indicate that self-regulation in this society encompasses various aspects of daily life, involving customs, Islamic principles, and governance. The ability to control behavior in worship, marriage customs, and communal land management is an integral part of self-regulation. The community employs self-regulation to preserve traditional values, adapt to changes, address social challenges, and manage social interactions. In the context of Social Cognitive Theory, self-regulation is explained as the result of behavioral control in customs and Islamic beliefs, embodied in Undang as the daily norm reflecting the influence of nature, Islamic teachings, and local traditions. Overall, self-regulation in this society is not solely individual but reflects social dynamics involving the entire community, with significant impacts on aspects of life, customs, Islam, and governance, playing a crucial role in preserving cultural values and identity

    The dynamics of online sexual grooming: From comfort to insecurity in victims' experiences

    The prevalence of sexual violence has been rising, particularly with the increasing reports of online sexual abuse. This study aims to examine the experiences of victims subjected to online sexual grooming, a form of sexual violence occurring in digital spaces. The research focuses on the manipulative tactics employed by perpetrators to exploit their victims. Using a qualitative approach and a phenomenological study design, the research involved two participants who had been victims of online sexual grooming by unknown perpetrators, with no prior face-to-face contact. Data were collected through interviews, and analysis followed the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Findings reveal that prior to the grooming process, participants encountered the perpetrators via social media and engaged in frequent conversations. Throughout the grooming process, perpetrators employed various manipulative techniques such as conversational manipulation, sustained contact, secrecy, sexualization, compliments, erratic moods, and other grooming behaviors. The emotional impact of online sexual grooming on the victims included both positive and negative feelings, with the latter predominating during the grooming experience

    Perceived organizational support and gratitude towards employee organizational commitment

    This study aims to examine the influence of perceived organizational support (POS) and gratitude on the organizational commitment of employees at RSUD dr M.Y. The sampling technique used was quota sampling, with 103 employees participating as subjects in the study. The instruments utilized included organizational commitment scale, perceived organizational support scale, and gratitude scale. Data analysis employed multiple linear regression. The results indicate a significant influence of both perceived organizational support and gratitude on organizational commitment at RSUD dr M.Y. Specifically, perceived organizational support does not significantly affect organizational commitment, whereas gratitude has a highly significant impact on organizational commitment. The conclusion drawn from this research is that higher levels of POS and gratitude jointly correspond to higher organizational commitment, and vice versa. However, independently, high or low levels of POS do not influence organizational commitment. Furthermore, higher levels of gratitude correlate with increased organizational commitment, while lower levels of gratitude correlate with decreased organizational commitment

    Psychological capital and work engagement among strawberry generation employees

    Organizations require energetic and dedicated employees to achieve their goals through work engagement. Work engagement can be influenced by the unique characteristics of the strawberry generation, especially when combined with psychological capital. This study aims to determine the impact of psychological capital (self-efficacy, optimism, hope, and resiliency) on work engagement among strawberry generation employees. The research employs a quantitative method, measured using the Psychological Capital Questionnaire 24 (PCQ-24) and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale 17 (UWES-17). The population used in this study consists of employees in Indonesia, from which 227 samples were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study are: (1) there is no effect of self-efficacy on work engagement among strawberry generation employees, (2) there is a positive effect of optimism on work engagement among strawberry generation employees, (3) there is a negative effect of hope and resiliency on work engagement among strawberry generation employees, and (4) there is a positive effect of psychological capital on work engagement among strawberry generation employees

    Friendship quality and empathy with the happiness of new students

    High levels of happiness have a positive impact on students' academic continuity. This study aims to examine the relationship between friendship quality and empathy with the happiness of new students. The method used in this study is quantitative correlational, with a sample size of 368 new students. The sampling technique used is probability sampling. Three measurement tools were used: the Happiness According Scale, the Friendship Quality Scale (FQUA), and the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI). Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression. The results of the study show that there is a significant relationship between friendship quality and empathy with happiness. Individuals with good friendship quality and high empathy will experience increased happiness. Partial tests also illustrate the influence of each variable, with both friendship quality and empathy contributing to individual happiness. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between friendship quality and empathy with the happiness of new students at Sunan Ampel State Islamic University Surabaya

    Prisoners' Anxiety Viewed from Types of Crime and Types of Prisoners

    Kecemasan Narapidana ditinjau dari Jenis Kejahatan dan Jenis NarapidanaAnxiety is an instinctive fear of bad things happening in the future and is considered a major enemy. The aim is to find out whether there are differences in anxiety in terms of the type of crime and the type of prisoner. The total population in this study were 335 convicts in Class IIA. The author uses a quantitative method with a purposive sampling technique of 80 convicts. Validity test using Statistical Series Computing Program (SPS-2000). The results of the study indicate that there is a difference in anxiety in terms of the type of crime, with a description that the anxiety in inmates with the type of theft crime is higher than in the type of drug crime and there is no difference in anxiety in terms of the type of inmate. That is, there is not always a difference in anxiety between recidivists and non-recidivists because anxiety is also influenced by the maturity of individual personality and social environmental conditions, where human social interaction always carries out an attribution process that can affect the anxiety of other people in Class IIA

    Self-awareness of domestic violence in the decision-making of divorced

    It is difficult for domestic violence survivors to decide to divorce after experiencing psychological trauma, which decreases the level of their awareness. In this regard, the existential perspective of humanism views self-awareness as one of the factors that can encourage humans to take action to change their living conditions to be better than before. This study aims to explore the process of developing the self-awareness of domestic violence to be able to decide to divorce a husband who committed domestic violence using an existential-humanistic perspective. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach and involves three female domestic violence as a research subject. Research data was collected through in-depth interviews by exploring the meaning of the experience of domestic violence survivors who had decided to divorce. The results showed that the divorce decisions taken by the domestic violence survivors were related to increasing self-awareness. Domestic violence survivors who reach a higher level of self-awareness are significantly more empowered and able to make better decisions in their lives.Keywords: Divorce decision making, domestic violence, self-awarenes

    Javanese Prosocial Behavior in The Rewang Tradition

    Perilaku Prososial Masyarakat Jawa dalam Tradisi RewangJavanese culture gave birth to many local wisdoms and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation until today. One of the traditions that is maintained and is still often found is the rewang tradition. The rewang tradition is a form of prosocial behavior in Javanese society which is carried out with the aim of helping community members who have a purpose in the form of marriage. This study aims to understand and describe the prosocial behavior of the Javanese community in the rewang tradition. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with the data collection technique used is literature study. The research results obtained in this study indicate that the rewang tradition can be seen as a form of prosocial behavior carried out by the Javanese community. This can be explained by looking at the motives and factors that cause the emergence of prosocial behavior

    Self Confidence and Social Support with Independence for Overseas Students Self-confidence and social support with independence in overseas students. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-confidence and social support with independence in overseas students. The subjects in this study were 110 overseas students from the 2019 faculty of psychology, Ahmad Dahlan University. The research method used is quantitative method with measuring instruments used are independence scale, self-confidence scale, and social support scale. The data analysis used was multiple linear regression analysis technique using the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) 16.0 for windows computer program. The results of the major hypothesis obtained a regression value of R = 0.609 with p = 0.003 (p <0.05). This shows that there is a very significant relationship between the variables of self-confidence and social support with independence. The first minor result is r = 0.578 with p = 0.000 (p <0.01), meaning that there is a very significant positive relationship between self-confidence and independence. Furthermore, the second minor result is r = 0.062 with p = 0.473 (p <0.05), meaning that there is no relationship between social support and independence. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the self-confidence variable provides an effective contribution of 35.08% to independence

    Gratitude Feelings of Involuntary Childless Couples

    Kebersyukuran pada Pasangan Involuntary ChildlessCouples who want children but cannot have them without intending to do so are said to be involuntarily childless. For the couple, it is not simple. Without a child, a husband and wife who are already married but are experiencing issues or emotions that force them to be childless can understand what gratitude means. Gratitude is one way that involuntarily childless couples can continue to support one another and remain hopeful about having children. This study aims to explore the meaning of gratitude in involuntary childless couples. This study employs a qualitative methodology and phenomenology. Semi-structured interviews, or interviews where the researcher has prepared the questions in advance using the idea of gratitude, are the data collection method. Three married couples with average marriage ages of 13 years, 12 years, and seven years, participated in this study. The study's findings demonstrate that Involuntarily childless couples are grateful for the help they receive from others and feel fortunate to have such support. Additionally, a childless couple always views their actions positively to feel grateful for Allah's blessings
