THE EFFECT OF PREZY AND EXE-LEARNING MEDIA ON CHEMICAL LEARNING RESULTS
PENGARUH MEDIA PREZI DAN EXE-LEARNING TERHADAP HASIL PEMBELAJARAN KIMIA Abstract Development of information technology in education such as the existance of media that derived from e-learning has made it easier in teaching and learning process. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Prezi and eXe-Learning media in students’activities and their learning outcome. This study used a quasi-experimental design. The research instrument used test questions based on subject of chemistry bonding and molecules with the participants are 72 students from Senior High School in Pekanbaru. The students come from 2 different classes: class used Prezi (36) and class used eXe-Learning media (36). The result showed a significant difference in students’ activities between groups that used Prezi and eXe-Learning media. For learning outcome, there was no any significant difference between student that used prezi and eXe-Learning media. Abstrak Perkembangan teknologi informasi dalam bidang pendidikan seperti penggunaan media pembelajaran e-learning mempermudah proses belajar mengajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat efektifitas media pembelajaran prezi dan eXe-Learning dalam hal aktivitas belajar dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan instrumen penelitian berupa soal ujian pada materi pembelajaran ikatan kimia dan bentuk molekul dengan sampel penelitian peserta didik sekolah menengah atas di Pekanbaru sebanyak 72 orang peserta didik yang terdiri dari kelas yang menggunakan media prezi (36) dan media eXe-Learning (36). Hasil analisis didapati perbedaan yang signifikan aktivitas belajar kelas yang menggunakan media prezi dengan media eXe-Learning. Sementara untuk hasil belajar kedua kelas menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas yang menggunakan media prezi dengan media eXe-Learning. DESIGNING AND DEVELOPING TEACHING MATERIAL OF HUMAN ANATOMY WITH THINKING MAP: WHAT IS INTERNAL RELEVANCE AND CONSISTENCY?
PERANCANGAN DAN PENGEMBANGAN MATERI AJAR ANATOMI TUBUH DENGAN PETA BERPIKIR : APA ITU RELEVANSI DAN KONSISTENSI INTERNAL? Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the relevance and internal consistency in the design and develop of human anatomy teaching materials using the thinking map. This research is an educational design research consisting of preliminary, prototyping and assessment. At preliminary stage, researcher doing activity of instructional analysis of human anatomy material. At the prototyping stage, researchers designed the prototype of anatomical material using thinking map. Then the prototype is judged by the expert. Revisions are made on the basis of the expert\u27s assessment. Human anatomical material on the topics: human cells, basic tissues, integument systems, skeletal systems, muscular systems, digestive systems, respiratory systems and reproductive systems used as a content thinking map. Product quality is determined from internal relevance and consistency. The aspect of relevance and internal consistency is determined by the validity the content and construct validity. Indicators contained in the content validity instrument are language, image, subject, curriculum, purpose, concept, constructivism. The construct validity indicators are: consistent, flexible, growing, integrative and reflective. The results showed that the validator assessed 55 thinking maps of human anatomical material that had been designed with a valid mean score. Revisions have been made to improve product consistency. Product thinking map is also done through a good development process. Based on the results and discussion of the research it can be concluded that the human anatomy teaching material has been obtained using a map of thought with good internal relevance and consistency. Broader test or large group test is required to improve product resistance to revisions. Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui relevansi dan konsistensi internal dalam perancangan dan pengembangan bahan ajar anatomi manusia dengan menggunakan peta pemikiran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian desain pendidikan yang terdiri dari pendahuluan, prototyping dan penilaian. Prosedur penelitian pada tahap awal, peneliti melakukan aktivitas analisis instruksional bahan anatomi manusia. Pada tahap prototyping, peneliti merancang prototipe bahan anatomis dengan menggunakan peta pemikiran. Kemudian prototipe dinilai oleh ahli. Revisi dibuat atas dasar penilaian ahli. Materi anatomi manusia pada topik: sel manusia, jaringan dasar, sistem integumen, sistem rangka, sistem otot, sistem pencernaan, sistem pernapasan dan sistem reproduksidigunakan sebagai konten peta pemetaan. Kualitas produk ditentukan dari relevansi dan konsistensi internal. Aspek relevansi dan konsistensi internal ditentukan dengan teknik validitas isi dan validitas konstruk. Indikator yang terdapat dalam instrumen validitas konten adalah bahasa, gambar, subjek, kurikulum, tujuan, konsep, konstruktivisme. Indikator validitas konstruk adalah: konsisten, fleksibel, berkembang, integratif dan reflektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa validator menilai 55 peta pemikiran bahan anatomi manusia yang telah dirancang dengan skor rata-rata yang valid. Revisi telah dilakukan untuk meningkatkan konsistensi produk. Pemetaan pemikiran produk juga dilakukan melalui proses pengembangan yang baik. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar anatomi manusia telah diperoleh dengan menggunakan peta pemikiran dengan relevansi internal yang baik dan konsistensi. DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS IN USING COLOR GRAB APPLICATION TO DETERMINE THE MASS OF COLORED SOLUTION
PENGEMBANGAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS MAHASISWA PADA PENGGUNAAN APLIKASI COLOR GRAB DALAM PENENTUAN MASSA ZAT LARUTAN BERWARNAAbstractThe purpose of this study is to analyze the development of students science process skills on the determination mass of colored solution using color grab application. The method used in this research was classroom research with subjects of 33 students taking chemical separation course. The instrument used was student activity observation sheet, practicum worksheet, and checklist of student performance. The results showed the use of smartphones in the practice of determination mass of colored solution can develop students science process skills . The overall student science process skill is interpreted very well with an average score of 81, with acquisition of experimental plan value with value of 82, observed 92, interpreting data 84, concludes 66, and communicating 79. Student activity on experiments using smartphones as a whole is excellent with percentage of 96%.AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengembangan keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa pada penentuan massa zat larutan berwarna menggunakan aplikasi color grab. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah adalah penelitian kelas pada mahasiswa mata kuliah kimia pemisahan sebanyak 33 orang. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar observasi aktivitas mahasiswa, lembar kerja praktikum, dan daftar ceklis kinerja mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan smartphone dalam praktikum penentuan massa zat larutan berwarna dapat mengembangkan KPS mahasiswa. Keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa secara keseluruhan diinterpretasikan sangat baik dengan nilai rata-rata 81, dengan perolehan nilai pada indikator merencanakan percobaan 82, mengamati 92, menafsirkan data 84, menyimpulkan 66, dan mengomunikasikan 79. Aktivitas mahasiswa pada percobaan menggunakan smartphone secara keseluruhan sangat baik dengan persentase 96%.
LEARNING MODEL DEVELOPMENT BASED ON ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION USING WETLAND AT ISLAMIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN BANJARMASIN
PENGEMBANGAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS PENDIDIKAN LINGKUNGAN DENGAN LAHAN BASAH PADA MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH DI KOTA BANJARMASIN Abstract This research is aimed to know how the environmental based learning by introducing wetland at Islamic elementary schools in Banjarmasin have been going recently (teachers’ understanding, design, process, and learning evaluation),and how are the learning model which is based on environmental education on wetland can be developed and implemented at Islamic elementary schools in Banjarmasin.This research is a developmental research with Research and Development (R&D) approach through preliminary research, small scale testing model development, and wide scale testing model validation. The research is conducted at MI Darun Nasihin, MI Sulamut Taufiq, and MI Nurul Islam.The data is collected through documentation, questionnaires, interview, and observation. The data is analyzed descriptive-qualitatively through data reduction, data display, and verification. After wide scale testing on the model which was developed and tried out using learning instrument adapted with the materials about ecosystem balance, the materials were then taught to the six graders of Islamic elementary school through the following implementation steps: orientation, relating, exploration, finding problems, group investigation, work result discussion, clarification, and resolution. The model is proved to be able to be developed at Islamic elementary schools in Banjarmasin, viewed from the students learning evaluation with the percentage in very good category. Students behavior also shows positive influence which means the learning has been able to stimulate students’ positive behaviors such as caring, being open-minded, being appreciative to what people are saying, and being responsible.The model development is also supported by good response from students and teachers towards students’ workbook and teaching learning process. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pembelajaran berbasis lingkungan dengan memperkenalkan lahan basah di sekolah dasar Islam di Banjarmasin telah berjalan baru-baru ini (pemahaman, desain, proses, dan evaluasi pembelajaran guru), dan bagaimana model pembelajaran yang didasarkan pada pendidikan lingkungan di lahan basah dapat dikembangkan dan diimplementasikan di sekolah dasar Islam di Banjarmasin. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan pendekatan Research and Development (R & D) melalui penelitian pendahuluan, pengembangan model pengujian skala kecil, dan validasi model pengujian skala luas. Penelitian dilakukan di MI Darun Nasihin, MI Sulamut Taufiq, dan MI Nurul Islam. Data dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi, angket, wawancara, dan observasi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif-kualitatif melalui reduksi data, tampilan data, dan verifikasi. Setelah pengujian skala luas pada model yang dikembangkan dan diujicobakan menggunakan instrumen pembelajaran yang disesuaikan dengan materi tentang keseimbangan ekosistem, materi kemudian diajarkan kepada enam siswa sekolah dasar Islam melalui langkah-langkah implementasi berikut: orientasi, berhubungan, eksplorasi, penemuan masalah, investigasi kelompok, diskusi hasil kerja, klarifikasi, dan resolusi. Model ini terbukti dapat dikembangkan di sekolah dasar Islam di Banjarmasin, dilihat dari evaluasi pembelajaran siswa dengan persentase dalam kategori sangat baik. Perilaku siswa juga menunjukkan pengaruh positif yang berarti pembelajaran telah mampu merangsang perilaku positif siswa seperti kepedulian, berpikiran terbuka, menghargai apa yang dikatakan orang, dan bertanggung jawab. PROFILE OF STUDENTS CRITICAL THINKING IN MICROBIOLOGY PROBLEM SOLVING
PROFIL BERPIKIR KRITIS MAHASISWA DALAM PENYELESAIAN MASALAH MIKROBIOLOGI Abstract Critical thinking is an intellectual process that actively and conceptually conceptualizes, implements, analyzes, synthesizes, and evaluates information gathered or generated from observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, to guide beliefs and actions. That\u27s because with critical thinking, individuals can be trained to solve problems in different and diverse ways. Giving problems to be solved by the student can track the ability to think critically well, because to solve the problem, one must have the ability to think critically. The purpose of this research is to describe the students\u27 critical thinking profile in solving a valid and reliable microbiological problem. The type of research used is descriptive research using qualitative approach. Subjects in this study were some students of Biology Education of Lambung Mangkurat University who have taken microbiology courses in 2014/2015 academic year, amounting to 6 students, students drawn from 3 high, medium, and low category based on the value of microbiology course. The results of this study indicate that the critical thinking level of Biology University students of Lambung Mangkurat is dominant in critical thinking with critical and critical category. Students who take the course of microbiology certainly have different levels of critical thinking on each person based on written assignments that have been given. Abstrak Berpikir kritis adalah proses intelektual yang secara aktif mengkonseptualisasi, mengimplementasikan, menganalisis, mensintesis, dan mengevaluasi informasi yang dikumpulkan atau dihasilkan dari pengamatan, pengalaman, refleksi, penalaran, atau komunikasi, untuk membimbing keyakinan dan tindakan. Hal ini dikarenakan dengan pemikiran kritis, individu dapat dilatih untuk memecahkan masalah dengan cara yang berbeda dan beragam. Memberikan masalah yang harus diselesaikan oleh siswa dapat melacak kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan baik, karena untuk memecahkan masalah, seseorang harus memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan profil berpikir kritis siswa dalam memecahkan masalah mikrobiologi yang valid dan reliabel. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah beberapa mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Lambung Mangkurat yang telah mengambil mata kuliah mikrobiologi pada tahun akademik 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 6 mahasiswa, yang diambil dari 3 kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah berdasarkan nilai mata kuliah mikrobiologi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat berpikir kritis mahasiswa Biologi Universitas Lambung Mangkurat dominan dalam berpikir kritis dengan kritis dan kategori kritis. Mahasiswa yang mengambil matakuliah mikrobiologi tentu memiliki tingkat pemikiran kritis yang berbeda berdasarkan tugas tertulis yang telah diberikan. CHANGING OF STUDENT\u27S MENTAL MODEL ABOUT VIRUS THROUGH MICROBIOLOGY COURSE PROGRAM BASED ON MENTAL MODEL
PERUBAHAN MODEL MENTAL MAHASISWA PADA POKOK BAHASAN VIRUS MELALUI PROGRAM PERKULIAHAN MIKROBIOLOGI BERBASIS MODEL MENTAL AbstractThis study aims to analyze changes in mental models of students on the subject of the virus through mental model based-microbiology course. The research method is pre-experiment with one-group pretest-posttest design. Respondents of this research consists of 5 semester students of Biology education program at UPI Biology Education Department of 39 students. The mental model based-microbiology course consists of several stages (syntax). The mental modeling instrument uses concept maps, while the students\u27 perceptions of the lecture program use a closed and open questionnaire. Data obtained in the form of concept maps before and after lectures on the subject of the virus. Concept maps are then analyzed by reference concept map. Quantitative data of the concept map is converted into qualitative data to determine the level of mental model, namely: emergent = score 1, transitional = score 2, close to extended = score 3, and complete (extended) = score 4. Questionnaire about the research program shows the change of mental model level on the subject of the virus before the implementation of the mental model based-microbiology course. is at emergent and transition level. After the implementation of the mental model based-microbiology course is at the transitional level and close to extended. This indicates an increase in the level of mental models of students through the mental model based-microbiology course. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perubahan model mental mahasiswa pada pokok bahasan virus melalui program perkuliahan Mikrobiologi Berbasis Model Mental (MBM2). Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah pre- experiment dengan disain penelitian one-group pretest - postest design. Responden penelitian ini terdiri dari mahasiswa semester 5 program studi pendidikan Biologi di Departemen Pendidikan Biologi UPI sebanyak 39 mahasiswa. Program Perkuliahan MBM2 terdiri dari beberapa tahapan (sintaks). Instrumen model mental menggunakan peta konsep, sedangkan persepsi mahasiswa tentang program perkuliahan menggunakan angket tertutup dan terbuka. Data yang diperoleh berupa peta konsep sebelum dan setelah perkuliahan pada pokok bahasan virus. Peta konsep selanjutnya dianalisis berdasarkan peta konsep rujukan. Data kuantitatif peta konsep diubah menjadi data kualitatif untuk menentukan level model mental, yaitu : berkembang (emergent) = skor 1, peralihan (transitional) = skor 2, mendekati lengkap (close to extended) = skor 3, dan lengkap (extended) = skor 4. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perubahan level model mental pada pokok bahasan virus sebelum implementasi program perkuliahan MBM2 ada pada level berkembang (emergent) dan peralihan (transitional) . Setelah implementasi program perkuliahan MBM2 ada pada level peralihan (transitional) dan mendekati lengkap (close to extended). THE IMPACT OF TEAMWORK SKILLS TO LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT IN FORCE CONCEPTUAL FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
PENGARUH KETERAMPILAN KERJASAMA TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR KONSEP GAYA PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPA SMPAbstractThis study aims to determine the effect of high teamwork skills and low teamwork skills on student learning achievement on the concept of force. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 2 Surakarta Academic Year 2018/2019. The sample used in this study were 61 students. This research was included in experimental research. Sampling is done using simple random sampling technique. Data retrieval is done by using multiple choice tests as many as 20 items to get learning achievement data on force concepts and observation sheets for data on teamwork skills. Analysis of the data used is non-parametric statistical test, namely the Mann-Whitney U test. With the statistical analysis performed, it is obtained that the sig. value 0,000. Because of the sig. value 0,000 <0.05, it can be concluded that Ho was rejected. This shows high and low teamwork skills affect the learning achievement of students on the concept of force. Students who have high teamwork skills who have higher learning achievement with a mean of 74.41 students who have low teamwork skills with a mean of 53.15.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keterampilan kerjasama tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi belajar peserta didik pada konsep gaya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 2 Surakarta Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 61 peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes objektif pilihan ganda sebanyak 20 butir soal untuk mendapatkan data prestasi belajar pada konsep gaya dan lembar observasi untuk mendapatkan data keterampilan kerjasama. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji statistik non-parametrik dengan menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney U. Berdasarkan analisis statistik yang dilakukan, diperoleh bahwa nilai sig. 0,000. Karena nilai sig. < 0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan Ho ditolak. Hal ini menunjukkan keterampilan kerjasama tinggi dan rendah berpengaruh terhadap prestasi belajar peserta didik pada konsep gaya. Hasilnya dapat dinyatakan bahwa peserta didikyang memiliki keterampilan kerjasama tinggi memiliki prestasi belajar yang lebih tinggi dengan rerata 74,41 daripada peserta didikyang memiliki keterampilan kerjasama rendah dengan rerata prestasi belajar 53,15.
RECONSTRUCTING SCIENCE TEACHING MATERIAL CONTAINING NATURE OF SCIENCE ON THE TOPIC OF MATERIAL PARTICLES AND CHARACTERISTICS
This study was conducted to reconstruct teaching material of particles of matter using context of characteristics of material. It refers to the Model of Educational Reconstruction (MER). The purpose of this study was to obtain a pre-conception of learners and scientist’s perspective to the concept of particles of matter, material characteristics, and relations between them; determine the design of teaching materials based onviews of nature of science; and find out an expert assessment of the design of teaching materials. The research data obtained in the form of the transcript of an interview 10 students of class VIII, text analysis results, the results of the validation indicators and the learning objectives of cognitive and affective aspects, validation results of the analysis of the concept, validation results of teaching materialsdesign and test results readability. Design of teaching material produced is (a) developed based on reflection from pre-conception of learners and the perspective of scientists; (b) adjusted to the cognitive level of learners (accessible); (3) developed by inserting aspects of nature of science (NOS); (4) using a sequence of teaching and learning of Science and Technology Literacy (STL) by adopting a learning phase ChemieimKontext (ChiK). The results of the validation of teaching materials to obtain an average value of CVI 0,9935. This suggests teaching materials produced it feasible used for junior high students. GUIDED INQUIRY AND GUIDED DISCOVERY MODEL IN SCIENCE LEARNING TO IMPROVE COGNITIVE ABILITY OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
This study aims to find out the improvement of cognitive ability through the implementation of guided inquiry and guided discovery model in integrated natural science learning. Alternative energy sources was chosen as the learning theme which contain Biology, Physic, Chemistry concepts, which consist of briquettes as the heat source, and battery as the power source. This study used quasi experiment method with matching only pretest posttest control group design. The subject of this study were 42 students of VII grade of Junior High School in Kampar District which consist of experiment and control class with 21 students in each class. Student cognitive learning outcomes was measured by multiple choice test instrument, which contain of 21 items which was done twice (pretest and posttest). The technic of data analysis was normality test and hypothesis test (U test). Data were analyzed by IBM SPSS 22 statistics and Microsoft Excel 2010 program. The N-Gain average of cognitive ability shows that there is an improvement of student cognitive ability in experiment class as 0,44 with intermediate category, and in control class as 0,21 with low category. While, the result of U test toward N-Gain value shows that there is a significant difference on student cognitive ability between students in experiment and control class. Thus, it can be concluded that guided inquiry model can improve student cognitive ability more than guided discovery model.
