INVESTIGATION OF THE MISCONCEPTION IN NEWTON II LAW
This study aims to provide a comprehensive description of the level of the number of students who have misconceptions about Newton's II Law. This research is located at one State Junior High School in Kab. Pandeglang. The purposive sampling was considering used in this study because it is important to distinguish students who do not know the concept of students who experience misconception. Data were collected using a three tier-test diagnostic test and analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results showed that the level of misconception was in the two categories of high and medium levels. It needs an innovative teaching technique for subsequent research to treat Newton's Newton misconception

THE DEVELOPING OF LEARNING MEDIA BASED ARTICULATE STUDIO’13 IN ASSESSMENT COURSE AT BIOLOGY EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM
The purpose of the study is developing articulate studio '13 based learning expert validation through the media and examine the effect on the student learning outcomes. The participants include 48 students of biology education IKIP PGRI Jember with One Shot-Case Study design. The data is analyzed descriptively qualitative. The result of the validation is categorized, the feasible learning activity is good, the student's response is well classified and learning outcomes is complete. The conclusion of this study is learning media based articulate studio '13 can improve student motivation and learning outcomes
PENGEMBANGAN PERANGKAT PEMBELAJARAN BERORIENTASI PENDEKATAN GUIDED DISCOVERY UNTUK MELATIHKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN KREATIF
This research aims to develop Guided Discovery based teaching learning package to facilitate the critical and creative thinking skills. These teaching learning package were implemented in two phases, namely the development of the model 4-P (4-D Models) and the implementation on 30 students of VII grade of Mujahidin Junior High School of Surabaya, using one group pretest-posttest design. Data was analyzed descriptively quantitative and qualitative. The results showed that Guided Discovery based teaching learning package valid and good, critical and creative thinking skills increased. Validation result are for RPP 3.87, LKS 3.87, students book 3.59, learning outcomes test 3.87, critical thinking skills test 3.64, thinking critical and creative skills assessment form 3.63. The students mastery of learning outcomes was with proportion of 80,70%. Based on the data it can be concluded that the Guided Discovery based teaching learning package can improve students critical and creative thinking skills, and to improve students mastery of learning outcomes. PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN GUIDED DISCOVERY TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATERI GERAK DI KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 1 PUCUK
Teacher - center method more widely used in the learning process but knowledge gained students less than the maximum. Therefore, The researcher intended to carry out the process of learning that guides the students discover the concept through their own behavior so that the results are more meaningful and is expected to increase the achievement. This research aimed to describe the effect of the application of Guided Discovery model to the students’ achievement, both affective (scientific attitude), psychomotor, and cognitive, as well as to determine the linkages between these aspects. This research was designed using "True Experimental Design" conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Pucuk. The data obtained was the pre-test, post-test, and scores of psychomotor and affective abilities. Furthermore, the data were analyzed with statistical consisting of normality test, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing, and regression and correlation analysis. Post-test results were analyzed by t-test. T-test results obtained by the two parties –ttable t ttable shows the differences between control and experimental class. The t-test results obtained by the right parties tcalculation≥ ttable (α= 0.05) showed that results for students in the experimental class is better than the control class. It can be concluded that the application of Guided Discovery model can improve the students’ achievement in the material of motion in SMP Negeri 1 Pucuk. HERB PLANT: INVENTORY AND PHYTOCHEMICAL SCREENING IN SAMPANG, MADURA
Currently, modern medicine has advanced rapidly but habits of drinking herbal medicine are still survived in Madurese society. The local wisdom of drinking herbal medicine in Madurese society, especially in Sampang Regency has been believed to be efficacious for generations. Average medicinal ingredients used are derived from natural ingredients taken from root organs, bark, leaves, fruit or seeds of herbs. This research aims to perform an inventory of herbs that have potential in improving the welfare of Madurese, especially in Sampang Regency. Type of research used is descriptive qualitative research method used is by conducting interviews to the community, IKOT owners, and herbalist. Madurese herbs in Sampang. Based on the results of research, 46 herbs are obtained. Of 46 plants found there are 16 different types of herbs. Herbal plants that many people use (have a percentage of more than 50%) are jahe (Indonesian name), kunyit (Indonesian name), kencur (Indonesian name), kayu rapet (Indonesian name) and delima (Indonesian name). The results of phytochemical screening of fifth herbs showed that positive herbal plants containing saponins were jahe (Indonesian name), kencur (Indonesian name), kayu rapet (Indonesian name) and delima (Indonesian name). And of the five samples, all positively contain secondary metabolites of flavonoids, tannins, and steroids
UPAYA PENINGKATAN HASIL BELAJAR MAHASISWA MELALUI PENERAPAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING DALAM PERKULIAHAN TELAAH KURIKULUM FISIKA II PADA MATERI FLUIDA
Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa Pendidikan Fisika B 2012 melalui penerapan Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam perkuliahan TKF II pada materi Fluida. Kegiatan dilakukan dalam dua siklus tindakan kelas. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini diawali dengan observasi dan penentuan tindakan (melalui kegiatan observasi pendahuluan dan diagnosis), perencanaan pembelajaran, siklus I pembelajaran, refleksi dan evaluasi, perencanaan pembelajaran untuk siklus II, siklus II pembelajaran, refleksi dan evaluasi, dan diakhiri dengan kegiatan pelaporan. Indikator keberhasilan pembelajaran TKF II adalah terjadinya peningkatan hasil belajar yang signifikan pada mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Fisika kelas B 2012. Setelah dilakukan pembelajaran sesuai dengan desain penelitian tindakan kelas, diperoleh data hasil belajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor mahasiswa. Pada siklus I, rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa sebesar 66,88, afektif sebesar 3,00, dan hasil belajar psikomotor sebesar 3,25. Pada siklus II memiliki rata-rata 77,68 untuk hasil belajar kognitif, untuk afektif sebesar 3,65, dan untuk psikomotor sebesar 3,75. Secara statistik, hasil belajar mahasiswa tersebut diuji menggunakan uji Wilcoxon dan diperoleh bahwa nilai signifikansi hasil belajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor kurang dari 0,005. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar yang signifikan antara siklus I dan siklus II pembelajaran TKF II baik ranah kognitif, afektif, maupun psikomotor
THE RHIZOSPHERE PGPR GRAMINEAE APPLICATION ON THE GROWTH RED GINGER (Zingiber officinale Var. Rubrum)
PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) is a group of bacteria that colonize in the area of the rhizosphere. These groups of bacteria favor plant growth because they are able to mobilize and provide nutrients and phytohormones. The ability of the bacterial group can be utilized as a growth regulator in the red ginger nursery (Z. officinale Var Rubrum). This study aims to determine the optimal dosage of PGPR for the growth of red ginger seed (Z. officinale Var Rubrum). In this study, red ginger rhizome (Z. officinale Var Rubrum) was soaked with various concentrations of PGPR ie 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The results of this study indicate that soaking rhizomes using PGPR solution significantly influence the growth of red ginger seeds in the form of high seedlings, the number of shoots grow, the number of leaves and the mass of seedlings. A 25% dose has a better ability to boost the growth of seeds when compared to other doses.Keywords: Zingiber officinale Var. Rubrum, PGR, Phytohormone
THE PHYSICAL LABORATORY ACTIVITIES WITH PROBLEM SOLVING APPROACH TO INCREASE CRITICAL THINKING SKILL AND UNDERSTANDING STUDENT CONCEPT
This study aims to investigate the description of the improvement of students’ critical thinking skills and the concept understanding by implementing the problem-solving approach. This study was in laboratory activities. This study was done in four times meeting. The try out subjects was 31 students of grades X of MAN Yogyakarta III. This research is using the quasi experimental method with the pretest-posttest design. The data were collected by using multiple choices tests with assessment rubric and observation sheets. The data are analyzed by using multivariate analysis. Based on the result, the gain standard value of students’ conceptual understanding and students’ critical thinking skills for grade X who learned through student’s worksheet with a problem-solving approach, called treatment class, are higher than students who learned without student’s worksheet with a problem-solving approach, called control class. INFLUENCING OF PROJECT-BASED LEARNING MODEL TOWARD SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS ON ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT MATERIAL
This study aims to determine the effect of the application of Project Based Learning Model to Skill of Science Process on Environmental Management Material. This research design uses posttest-only control design with Quasi-Experimental method (quasi-experiment). The sample of this research is 35 students. Based on the results of the analysis of students' science process skills show that the implementation of learning using the model of Project Based Learning is better than the conventional learning model. This can be seen from the calculation of the test-t skills of the science process shows for sig tcount 0.000 0,05, then Ha accepted and H0 rejected. The result of analysis of the average score of mastery of experimental science process skill class achieves 2.87 with good criteria while the students 'science process skill in control class 1.73 is sufficient to mean that the students' experimental class science process skill is higher than the control class science process skill. Thus, it can be concluded that the model of Project Based Learning affects the Skills of Science Process on Environmental Management Material.Keywords: project based learning model; skills of science process
