Both the percentage of indicators critical thinking skills in Plaju and Seberang Ulu II District is in the medium category

EXAMINING OF INFORMATION LITERACY AND SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS TOWARDS GRADE POINT AVERAGE: A PRELIMINARY RESEARCH

    Get PDF
Information Literacy (IL) and Science Process Skills (SPS) have been widely examined to enhance the quality of learning, especially in higher education, in which information technology has become the basis of human life. This research aims to explore the relationship between IL and SPS to the grade point average (GPA) of pre-service science student. Determination of samples using a typical case sampling is 278 students from 329 active students in the program at S1-Science Education, Surabaya State University (UNESA). This research uses quantitative approaches. The source of data is a test result of IL and SPS towards a GPA in the odd 2017/2018 semester. The data were analyzed using the Minitab 16 program. The results of the data analysis showed that   = 26,69 ˃ 3,03 =   = (0,05;2;275) or in other words support data to reject   with confidence level 95%. This investigation concludes that there is a significant relationship between variable information literacy and science process skills together against the grade point average. The results of the research are expected to be one of the considerations in choosing and determining the right learning of science teachers,

The purpose of this study was to describe the influence of value clarification model to train discipline and responsibility for the student at PGRI University. This research is quasi-experiment. The population of this research is all students at the PGRI University. The sample of this research by using simple random sampling technique. The data were analyzed using MANOVA Test followed by Bonferroni post hoc test using SPSS 22.0 program. The results showed there is the influence value clarification model to build students’ attitude

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SCIENCE STUDENT WORKSHEET WITH COGNITIVE CONFLICT STRATEGIES TO REDUCE MISCONCEPTION ON HEAT CONCEPT

    Get PDF
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of science worksheets with cognitive conflict strategies to reduce student heat misconceptions. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Lamongan by using one group pretest-posttest design. The data obtained in this study is quantitative data, and the number of students in VII grade is 50, students are called to complete the research if the proportion of correct answers is more significant than the standard achievement test. While the class is said to complete the study if 85% of students can reach the standard test criteria. The researcher obtained information about the level of mastery of students' concepts by using N-gain, one method in the descriptive qualitative analysis. It shows the different levels of student mastery before and after treatment given. The effectiveness of the Science Worksheet will be analyzed from the acquisition of learning outcomes. This yields 0.94 points which means that the value of N-Gain is in the sufficient category, it can be said that the application of the Science Worksheet with cognitive conflict strategies can reduce heat misconceptions of junior high school students

THE DEVELOPING OF PROTOTYPE TOOL DETERMINING CELESTIAL POSITIONS (WAH 1.0) AS LEARNING MEDIA IN EARTH AND SPACE SCIENCE COURSE

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study is a media creation for the deciding tool revealed that the position of the heavenly bodies can be created and used to determine the position of the heavenly bodies so that it can be used as a learning media in the Earth and space science course. The working principle of this tool is to use the coordinates of the horizon. Tools used i.e. compass, bows, tripod, and camera. To test the accuracy of the application use Stellarium mobile version 1.25. The results of this study are to test the accuracy of the altitude angle obtained its accuracy level results 100%. Whereas, in order to test the accuracy of the altitude reached the corner of 99.86%

The average score in an aspect based on the whole result of the assessment by media expert is 99,33%, the material expert is 88,20%, peer reviewer 83,02%, and science teacher upon the simple props is 88,41%, then it can be stated as Good (B). There is an improvement in the student’s result when doing pretest and posttest. The average score of the students when doing pretest is 5,29, and posttest is 7,9. The level of critical thinking skill of the students is on the level medium because the criteria are 0,54

CALCIUM OXIDE CHARACTERISTICS PREPARED FROM AMBUNTEN’S CALCINED LIMESTONE

    Get PDF
Calcium oxide (CaO) and calcium carbonate (CaCO3) are widely used in industry. CaO and CaCO3 can be synthesized or derived from limestone. The purpose of this study to determine the characteristics of CaO calcined limestone from Ambunten Sumenep. Lime in calcined at 850 ° C for 6 hours. Characterization of X-ray fluorescence (XRF) was conducted to determine the chemical composition of limestone, X-ray diffraction test (XRD) to find the lime crystalline phase and FTIR test to determine the absorption of wave number. XRF test results showed that the limestone chemical composition consisted of Ca of 95.37% as the dominant element, Mg of 4.1%, Fe 0.17% and Y by 0.39%. The XRD test results showed that the limestone crystal phase is ankerite (Ca [Fe, Mg] [CO3] 2) and after the calcined phase calcination is vaterite (Ca [OH] 2), calcite (CaO) and calcite (CaCO3). While the FTIR test results show that the CaO spectra are seen at 3741.24, 1417.12 and 874.14 cm-1

    Get PDF
This research aims to find the effect the research and development of voiced tree media based on Children Learning in Science (CLIS) model of learning achievement and learning motivation of SDN 1 and 2 Ngembel students. The research model in this research is Research and Development. The approach in this research uses models from Borg and Gall. This research combines the voiced tree media with CLIS model. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by the literature study, observation, and the implementation of the pre-test and post-test conducted at the beginning and end of the learning process. Based on the results of research and data, it was concluded that the application of voiced tree media was based on the CLIS model influences students' learning achievement in physics, both SDN 1 Ngembel and SDN 2 Ngembel. SDN 1 Ngembel produces a value of t table of 2.160369 while t count for -15.064, while SDN 2 is released for ttable is 2.160369 while tcount is for -14.408. The development of voiced tree media based on CLIS model also influences students' learning motivation with the results of mean data from observations of learning when learning the process at SDN 1 learning is 15.14 motivations when the learning process takes place at SDN 2 learning is 14.4
