    Formulating Business Strategy in O'Corner

    O’Corner is a small-medium enterprise based in Indonesia that has a core business in serving healthy snack and dessert with unique packaging to its customer. This business was established since 2013. The development in food and beverage industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly and it affect O’Corner in sales. The stagnant sales and lacked of spaces to stores the stock in O’Corner made the owner have to think a suitable strategy to apply. Strategic formulation process done through the three stages of analysis, the input phase, analysis, and decision stages. The final stage is a case analysis to formulate a decision to be taken. The decision was based on justification pedestal made qualitatively and quantitatively, structured or unstructured, so that a decision can be taken significantly with existing conditions. The results of this research are recommending the business strategy with market penetration, the author give an action plan for the next 5 years in order to make O’Corner more grow up and better than the other competitor. Keywords: business strategy, snack business, business model canva

    Abstract—This research explained about the application form of scenario planning analysis as solution for PT. Swara Milliard Artha 99ers Radio Bandung, which was formatted as a teenage radio station and ranked on number one teenage radio station in Bandung since its first aired until now. However, to help keep the existence on the business industry, 99ers Radio has several internal and external problems that effect on company's survival later on. The technique found in this approach is to collect data and information to be analyzed in order to generate predictions as a preparation for decision-making process.     Strategic Management for An Entrepreneurial Venture (Case Study: Eternitea)

    Abstract. The competition in the RTD (Ready-To-Drink) milk tea currently in Indonesia is rapidly increasing. Until April 2013 Eternitea, an RTD milk tea company, has been growing, but in May 2013 the sales was decreased and not able to reach its target. The business issues of Eternitea are: (1) how to increase Eternitea sales to reach its target sales, and (2) how to develop Eternitea in order to survive and continue to grow in the long-term. The external and internal analyses, followed by SWOT analysis, are used to analyze the business situation. The roots of problems that are found are: (1) limited production capacity because of no employees and (2) no established strategic management processes. Strategic formulation is used to find and analyze the business solution. From EFAS and IFAS, the most appropriate business strategy to be implemented by Eternitea is a growth strategy, while considering the company’s external and internal strategic factors, the best competitive strategy is differentiation focus. Eternitea should focus to serve middle-to-higher-income potential customers and create differentiation through its product and distribution. There are three alternative growth strategies that will be implemented by Eternitea in order to survive and continue to grow in long-term: (1) product development for short-term, (2) market penetration for medium-term, and (3) market development for long-term.     Abstract - Media development in Indonesia is already advanced. Print types slowly began to move into the digital world and electronics. Growing number of media companies are seeing rapid progress in the world of mass media. Unfortunately the current media development in Indonesia is insignificant compared to the education of its people. The development of the print media in Indonesia is experiencing strong turbulence. A new generation of readers began to emerge, namely the generation of readers who do not read things more seriously, the generation who do not like the hassle of language in print, and a generation that does not like to face in print. Sustainability of life of heavy media with their ability to capture the reader wishes. Through the presentation of news content related to the needs of readers, they will turn the industry believed the media, particularly the print type in Indonesia.Roda Lensa is an online media that stands in November 2013. Roda Lensa, which has  target audience at the age of 15-35 years, adolescents and young adults, carrying the motto "POSITIVE and FRESH" where Roda Lensa always try to give the latest news as well as to motivate its readers. Roda Lensa realize now is the time when all things goes mobile. In addition to factors that are not a lot of capital involve, online media is a type of media that are easy to make, as well as easily accessed by readers. This research is expected to make Roda Lensa becomes more effective as well as to improve the news content and also makes it more attractive in the eyes of the readers. And for that, by evaluating the condition of the company through open interviews, deficiencies can be identified and recommendations for improvement can be given.     Asseessment of Cost Efficiency of Hospitality Business Case of SYNN - A state-owner Business Unit

    Abstract  – Financial reforms in government agencies demanding change from the traditional budgeting system towards performance-based budgeting. Financial reforms in the form of the Public Service Agency (PSA) is intended to provide public services such as the provision of goods and / or services which sold without profit orientation and run activities based on the principles of efficiency and productivity. SH University became PSA since 2008 and since then all the faculty and the business unit that lead by SH University follow BLU system. SYNN as a business unit is a facility built to support the development of the University of SH, this business unit provides services to internal and external parties of SH University in the form of provision of accommodation services and hall  rental services based on principles of productivity and efficiency. In running its business SYNN is very much governed by SH University in controlling the use and reporting of its fund. SYNN spend various expenses through several budgeting funds. Some of expenses are not detected thus the actual cost of running the business is not known, hence there is a tendency of overstated profit and difficulty in cost efficiency management. This alarming situation can lead to wrong judgement in making strategic decision. Another alarming financial condition is stagnant growth and tendency in declining sales revenue in the last eight years. Management team and operational staff have not maximized the potential growth proved by low room occupancy rate. By gaining expected potential grow can help contribute more in maximizing shareholders’ and stakeholders’ value.As one of its characteristic, PSA allows flexibility and autonomy in running its operation; flexibility in financial management, flexibility in asset management and goods/asset procurement. However, it is still difficult to apply by SYNN. As a business unit that is managed by the University, SYNN is still treated equally in doing business with faculty and lack of autonomy to do their business. So the operational team is difficult to move quickly in running the business.This study is expected to provide an overview to the management team, principle and operational team about the actual financial condition of SYNN so that improvements in areas related to  decline in productivity and efficiency can be done. Recommendations resulting from this study is expected to improve the performance of the financial sector in particular and increasing SYNN overall business growth in the future.     Development Of National Payment Hateway (NPG) for Efficient Payment System In Indonesia

    Abstract - Payment systems industry in Indonesia plays an important role in Indonesian economy. It regulates how to move funds from one place to another, whether for transfer, payment or purchase. Along with development of Indonesian economy and free trade in ASEAN, many parties are involved in the Indonesia payment systems industry, either domestic or international party. Each party has its own model, which leads to inefficiency and lack of integration of payment systems in Indonesia. Seeing this, Bank Indonesia as a regulator in the payment system in Indonesia deems it necessary to make the payment system infrastructure in Indonesia is more efficient and integrated also to perform control functions and provide convenience for the Indonesian people. This final project will focus on how Bank Indonesia strategy to make payment systems industry become more efficient as well as determines the alternative design and implement the National Payment Gateway (NPG) as a solution. Having regard to the condition of the industry as well as players who have been involved at this time. Based on the analysis, in order to implement the National Payment Gateway (NPG) is required an integration system with control of Bank Indonesia and supported by a special regulation for the policy so that the whole industry will support to participate operational activities.     Capital Budgeting Analysis to Enhance Bank Performance and Stock Price (Case Study of Bank Tabungan Negara Period 2010-2014)

    Abstract. Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) is a state-owned bank focusing its business on housing finance. In the last five years, the BTN stock has been experiencing a decline in its price. The decline of the BTN stock price is in accordance with the poor performance of the bank in comparison with that of other banks having core capitals in the same category (the BUKU 3). To increase BTN’s financial performance as well as its stock price, it argued in this final project that BTN needs additional funds to expand its business.  The objective of this final project is to propose a financial planning that can be used by BTN to gain the additional funds for improving its financial performance as well as to achieve its targeted stock price. External and Internal analyses are conducted to uncover business problems faced by BTN. The external analysis was done using the PESTEL analysis, and the internal analysis was performed using the Ratio analysis and Economic Value Added (EVA) analysis. The Discounted Method of Economic Value Added is used to attain the projection of the BTN’s stock price for the next three years. The Price Earning Ratio (PER) methodis used to obtain the BTN’s targeted stock price. From the analyses, it is found that BTN needs to gain five trillions Indonesia Rupiah as the additional fund to improve its financial performance as well as its stock price. There are three ways that are recommended in this final project for BTN to get the additional fund, which are by issuing right issue, issuing bond, and gaining loan from its stockholders. The amount of the additional fund that can be obtained from each way is determined by considering the BTN historical right issue and bond issue, as well as BTN’s plan in 2015. In a case BTN conducts the right issue, it is recommended for (1) the BTN current stockholders to exercise their rights and (2) potential investors to buy the BTN rights that are traded in the market to get a high capital gain.Key word: capital budgeting, PESTEL analysis, ratio analysis, economic value added, financial performance, stock pric

That phenomena can be seen from enormous internet user, social media user, and also smartphone user. Nowadays a lot of company trying to market their product or services using digital way because they see how powerful digital media. Internet users in Indonesia will grow rapidly to 123 million users by 2018 and in parallel with this growth, everything from e-commerce to online media to B2B applications will grow rapidly. Based on the long term plan of Netizen Consultant, Netizen Consultant calculate and decide they need to achieve their revenue target to develop and market the SaaS so the Sass will be fully ready on 2020. There is a huge gap between target revenue and actual revenue from Netizen Consultant’s financial report on 2014. Netizen Consultant management has a challenge to increasing their revenue so they can reach their long term target. The analysis was performed to the internal and external aspects of the Netizen Consultant. Internal analysis was done by using Value Chain analysis, resource analysis, and VRIO analysis. While external analysis was done by using PEST analysis, Porter's 5 Forces analysis, and Market analysis. Results of internal and external analyzes will be used to propose Directional strategy, and TOWS matrix to produce Functional strategy.Having obtained the strategy Functional, those strategies must be implemented in order to show significant changes. The result of the implementation plan will be use as guidence for Netizen Consultant in the implementation of the Functional strategy.     Solving The Shortage of Raw Material in Mayora Group

    Abstract-Increase of sales from one period to another. One reason that causes Mayora’s sales to be increased is the increased population, followed by the expansion that the company has done before. Mayora products cover a range of coffee, chocolate, candy, instant food, biscuit, wafer, and beverage. Mayora group consists of 5 subsidiary companies and one distribution center. Currently, Mayora is facing is the problem in raw material which always in the shortage condition. The availability of raw material for a big class of company like Mayora will be a potential problem faced by the company.There are some factors that influence the shortage of raw material which are the market price fluctuation, availability or infinity, growth for customers, the risks leading from supplying the raw material, decreased stock level, quality, imbalance production with the capacity, and economic downturn or inflation. Several theories are used in other to help justify the position of Mayora in the market, consist of: definition of raw material and commodity, five Porter forces, Fine et al, Kraljic’s framework, and Marshall L Fisher. By using those theories, the situation of Mayora business can be clearly defined and the writer is being able to justify six factors that influence the shortage of raw material in the real condition, they are: the amount of raw material consumed, high bargaining power of supplier, failure in harvest season, suppliers’ interest, delivery time, and seasonal trend. After doing root cause analysis and making the fishbone diagram, then the two root causes that are going to be examined is chosen, which are no change in Mayora’s production capacity, and only few competitive and competent supplier. Based on these two root causes that have been defined, some alternatives is chosen in other to solve the problem. Then, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is used to determine which solution to implement. After the AHP calculation, the solutions of optimizing the job of sales team in doing forecast and strategic partnering with local farmers will be chosen.     Abstract— PT. Bank BRISyariah (BRIS)  has three pillars of strategic plans for the bank development, the first pillar is general business affairs to increase commercial performance, linkage, retail and the third party fund. The second pillar boosts business growth in micro business, consumer financing and office channeling optimization. As the foundation there are network, Core banking and IT Application, Human Resource and Culture, Operation, Risk Management. Core banking and IT Application must able to support three pillars of strategic plan, BRISyariah as growing company need Core banking development and IT Application Development conducted by IT Group is a fast, efficient and cost friendly. Currently an application development project carried out by using SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) method as contained in Circular Letter of Bank Indonesia, if only using this method are still many inefficiencies. There are, however, methods of PMI (Project Management Institute) that is based on the PMBOK (Project Management Book of Knowledge), which is the reference for project managers around the world. Then this final project aims to look at the factors of inefficiencies in the development process with the current method and process efficiency Core banking development and IT applications by combining methods of SDLC and PMBOK. These factors were obtained based on the results of interviews with some respondents who are in the IT group itself and also the respondent from another group that is often associated with process development and process development Core banking IT Applications.  Application of PMBOK combined with SDLC best practices so as to produce a solution that can reduce or eliminate inefficiencies. Best practice solutions to be built for 1 year starting with a preparatory phase for 6 months consisting of socialization to users, and then to IT Staff, Training and PMP certification to project manager and implementation Project Management application system. then proceed with the change management program for implementation and monitoring during the next 6 months. Important after the implementation phase is monitoring and feedback to ensure that best practice solution can make the development process core banking and IT applications become more efficient and effective Key words: Project management, Information Technology, SDLC, PMBOK
